Hi all,

Haven't been on the site for ages. Had first IVF/ICSI in June this year, which didn't work. But got lots of comfort and support from this site. Am due to start sniffing (a new one for me - last time injected all the way through and no sniffing) on 14th Nov, so due, in theory for ec/et sometime before middle of December (haven't worked out all the dates yet!). We were so gutted when it didn't work first time, and I remember so clearly the horrible, horrible 2ww. Also that I was desperate to try the whole process again immediately, which, of course, isn't an option. And in fact, in retrospect, this gap between attempts is so important. Last time I didn't feel like myself for ages, but did, with time, gradually get back to normal! The psychological pressure of this whole process is so huge, and so all-consuming at the time. Apart from your body needing to get back to normal, your head needs time too! I'll stop wittering now - I think I'm gearing myself up for attempt no. 2! Is anyone else looking at similar dates?

lol,
Nina
Hi Nina,
I start sniffing on Monday 11th so just a few days before you. I've been given the dates of EC - 18th Dec ET - 20th Dec - all being well. Hope everything goes well for you this second time. Its my first so everything is very overpowering at the moment.
Janice
Hi,
This is my first time here on this site and my first attempt at ivf/icsi I started sniffing synarel yesterday, due to start puregon injections on the 23rd and if I respond in the way they hope EC will be the 5th December with ET on the 8th. It has been great reading all your messages I have learnt such a lot.

Its great that there are a few of us cycling at the same time. Good luck to you all.
Hi Nina, Janice and Amanda

I think I will be joining you. I abandoned an FET last month as it was decided I needed HRT to help the endometrium get thick enough so will start injecting again around 19 November, ET due somewhere around 1st week in December.

Good luck to you all, lets hope we all get what we want for Christmas!
Love
Sandra
Hi!

I originally posted on November cycle buddies thread and have now realised that I am December cycle!! I am 1 week into my 1st FET cycle. Had Prostap jab last week, pre stim scan on 20th and looking at ET around 6th December. So Xmas Eve should be about the time that I know the result one way or another.

Feeling really horrible at the moment - don't know if it because of my reaction to drug (on Buserelin last time) or that I was this bad last time but have forgotten it. Anyway hope it all changes when I start tablets.

Good luck
Michelle
Hello!
It's so good to know we're all looking at similar dates. Janice, you were due to start sniffing on Monday, and Amanda, you were on Tuesday - how's it going? I start tomorrow (Thurs 14 Nov) - can't believe it's come round at last! Haven't done the sniffing thing before - was injecting Buserelin last time. How many times a day do you have to sniff? I'm doing 4 - 7am, 11am, 7pm, 11pm - am paranoid about forgetting one of the slots, so have decided to set the alsrm on my mobile each time as a reminder, at least for the first few days! Is this anorak behaviour?

Michelle, do nice things for youself if you feel horrible - I reckon this is a good time for a pampering excuse! Hope you feel better soon!

Until tomorrow, probably (I'm obsessed with this site - it's driving my partner slightly mad, I think!)

Nina
Hi fellow cyclers!

I have to sniff only twice a day 9am and 9pm although once in each nostrel, my nose feels quite sore too, has anyone else experienced this? I am not looking forward to sarting the injections I hate needles!
Has any one found that puregon 600 iu is priced differently at different chemists. A whopping £80.00 difference !!! I couldnt believe it, for info the cheapest I have found so far is £250.00 I'd appreciate hearing from anyone thats come across it cheaper than this.
I do think it is very unfair that some individuals can get assistance from their local health authority for tratment and drugs, Where I live, ( West Surrey) there is zero funding for anyone faced with infertility. TOTALLY UNFAIR! Perhaps it would be better to move house:-).

Sorry about the moan, hope you are all keeping positive?
Love Amanda

[Edited by Amanda Newell on 14-Nov-02 11:25]
Hi there, I know how frustrating it is to have to pay for all the treatment. Everyone should be entitled to the same and it shouldn't depend on where you live - we had to remortgage our house to pay for treatment. Sorry for rambling, anyway, my clinic told me to go to a company called Organon Home Care. I had 2 bottles of Synarel 200mcg each and 10 x 150iu puregon and it came to about £450 for all of it.
Good luck with your treatment.
Louise XX
Hi Louise,

Can you please give me the contact details of the company you used, your costs are about a 3rd of what I have been quoted!
Many thanks,
BFN.
Amanda
hi amanda couldnt help noticing how much you are all paying. My prescription consisted of 2 synarel(60 sprays each)24 ampoules of menapure,1 profassi, and enough pessaries for the 2ww all of this was £530.oo.depends where you are,we are in essex and we got ours from alis chemist at bethnal green, barts hospital advised us to use them, its the 2nd time we have and they are alot cheaper than other places.Hope that was some help to you.
best of luck
sammyx
Sammy,
Many thanks for this info I will give them a call for a quote. Hope all is going well for you?

BFN
Amanda

[Edited by Amanda Newell on 15-Nov-02 15:24]
Hi, Nina, Janice, Sandra S, and Michelle S.

Hope you are all ok?,and are sniffing well?

we are all getting closer to that next hill which we will have to climb. which is exciting, I can't wait ! one step closer and all that........

Keep pedaling a few more large hills to climb yet!!

Take care.

Amanda

Hi everybody!

Well, still got a killer headache but Nurofen seems to do the trick. Not sleeping well, but then like a log after 4am. So much so, that I slept through my alarm this morning and arrived in work with 10 minutes to spare (as a teacher not a good idea!)

I can't believe that it is getting closer to FET day - hopefully! Go for my pre-stim scan on Wednesday. Worried as I have not bled on the Prostap and they said I would. Then again, I did not bleed on Buserelin either and everything was Ok (well up to mammoth EC that is). Thank god I don't need that for a while!! So hopefully I will be on the oestrogen tablets on Thursday. Looking at around 6th for ET if I follow the plan. Fingers crossed!

Good luck everyone and let's hope December is lucky for us all.

Michelle
