Just a quick reminder that the deadline for nominations for the Robert Edwards Award is at the end of October each year.....
The following is a brief outline of what the Award is all about:
The Robert Edwards Award is presented annually to someone who has shown understanding and support, over and above the call of duty, throughout infertility or subsequent pregnancy.
Professor Robert Edwards is recognised as the founding father of human IVF. His work in the 1960's and 70's paved the way for he and his colleague, Patrick Steptoe, to succeed in bringing about the birth of the first IVF baby in 1978.
Robert Edwards has spent most of his research career as a Reader and then Professor at the University of Cambridge. He has been honoured the world over for his scientific and clinical research work.
The presentation of the award will be made in at the Annual ACeBabes Christmas Party and nominations need to be received by the end of October each year.
The nominations will be considered by the AceBabes Committee and the winner will be announced later in the year.
The nominee should be someone who you feel has given you outstanding support and empathy and whom you feel should be recognised for this. We are looking for someone who has shown an understanding of the emotional effects of infertility and what you may have been through to achieve a pregnancy, and what the pregnancy has meant to you.
The candidate should not be family or friend but perhaps one of the following:
counsellor/nurse/midwife/consultant/obstetrician/healthvisitor/employer/priest
Entries should state the name of who you would like to nominate, the address of where they can be contacted and their position. We also need your name and address and why you want to nominate them. Then send your nomination to:
