Bugaboo Cameleon

Post by CarolineP »

I am wading through the process of choosing a stroller and stumbled across the Bugaboo Cameleon. It is considerably more expensive than others I have researched.

Are there any parents or prospective parents that have chosen this stroller who would be prepared to give an overview of its pros and cons before I make a potentially costly mistake.

Thank you in advance

hi caroline,
like you i would be very interested to get some feedback on this buggy. i loved it when i first saw the original bugaboo frog which everyone seemed to have near where i live. i have since checked out the cameleon which i know comes out in october. i have talked to both John lewis and a large independent store near me hoping they'sd dalk me out of it, but both have been incredibly positive about it. from what i can see it has improvements on the original such as a larger seat, an extendable handle bar and a larger shpping basket at the bottom. the only disadvantage that i can see is that you have to remove the seat from the frame before folding it up but i have been assured that is easy. i am still on the lookout, but it is my clear favourite at the moment in spite of the scary price! will be keen to see what you think.

I have done some research and have the same thoughts as you - I have even stopped mums in the street with the Frog and asked their opinion and they have all been very positive.

Although all our friends with children have said we are mad to consider spending that amount of money on a pram (we will end up buying a cheap pushchair within 9 months), we cannot find anything else in comparison.

I am waiting until JL have one in stock before I make the final commitment and order - of course there is always the decision on colours which DH and I are trying to agree on!

JL had a Cameleon on show yesterday and it looks great we are really happy with the improvements from the Frog.

Only drawback is the new hood and cot cover which are made of fleece and don't look that shower proof. The sales assistant at JL advised us to write to Bugaboo and request a hood from an old frog which will fit the Cameleon (the Frog is being withdrawn from the UK and will be surplus to requirements).

Still need to decide on colours and wait for my interest free credit card to arrive and we are all systems go!
