Low HCG Level

Post by zach »

Hi Folks ...

My wife went in for pregnancy test today Nov 10th ... i.e. 10 days after two day-5-embryos were transferred. Her HCG level was 12. The next one scheduled in another 2 days..

Now, from what I have read from other posts and googled ... it seems that it should have been from 50 -100 .... the prognosis does not seem good at all...

Did anybody go through something similar ...? Please do share your words of wisdom ...

Dear Zach....I have just recently been through this. On 31st Oct got a BFP but the HCG was very low (ET at Day 3) at 7.4.

The doctor was concerned as the figure was low, but he said that we should remain positive and wait for the following blood test 48 hours later. The figure should at least double and should rise considerably. Sometimes the levels will just take off. From what I have read, it seems that the doubling of the figure is more important than the figure itself.
The next blood test showed 15.5...so had to wait for the following blood test 3 days later..Sadly my HCG level crashed and I miscarried.
Please know that everyone is different. I really hope your levels soar in 48 hours. I'll be thinking about you and your DW. :D
Try and remain as positive as possible.
Sorry I wasn't able to give you good news...HOWEVER there are some ladies on this website who have had positive experiences in similar situations :D ...Check out a thread called "Hcg levels not doubling" http://www.ivf-infertility.com/phpBB2/v ... highlight=

Take care

Hugs,

Little R

The HCG level dropped to 11 on the second blood test.... .... the doctor said that we had a chemical pregnancy and that the embryo stopped growing ....it is all over for now ...

Thank you all for your support .... and good luck with your own efforts.

Zach,

I'm so sorry for you and DW!!! The same thing happened to me. I went in and got a 12HCG. the second test was a 6 HCG and the third they said I lost it. Take time for the both of you.

I will be doing it again in January because now I know that I can get pregnant. So there are positive things that can come out of this too.

Again, I am soooo Sorry :(

I hope that you both can move on soon.
I will say a prayer for you. Dont worry, your time will come soon.

Love,
Jackie
