Thanks for everyones kind thoughts.
The scan was wonderful, everything looks fine at the moment and they are happy with the water levels and cervix which is a relief.
He is definately a boy, the consultant is 100% sure so when the time comes we can buy lots of blue things. We even have a DVD!!
Compared to my NHS scans it was whole other world, the consultant took time measuring everything from head circumference to renal arteries, even the size of his little feet were looked at. Some of it was done on the 3d scanner which was amazing. The whole thing made me realise how lucky I am.

Hope everyone is having as good a day as me!

Smita - hope everything goes ok with you tommorrow, I will be thinking of you.

Welcome home little P, glad you had fab hols and a belated happy birthday.

Olivia

Fantastic news - I'm so glad everything went well and congratulations on the "boy" news as well.

Hope you are ok and looking after yourself. It sounds as though everything is ticking along just perfectly which is always a relief.

Big hugs

Wonderful news Olivia - I know what you mean about 'whole new world' with private scans - they are pretty amazing. Seems a shame that everyone doesn't get the opportunity on the NHS but I guess we should class ourselves as lucky - they'll be charging for those soon too no doubt! (Sorry to hubby - didn't mean to be anti NHS - sure they're doiing the best they can). What 'time' are you waiting for? I'd just get shopping now - the only thing holding me back is I don't know sex!

Vicky - sorry to hear about your house - perhaps it just wasn't meant to be - something better will turn up and you'll say 'thank goodness the other fell through'

Lil P - sounds great having DH feel movements - I'll try that one,

Hi everyone!
Thank you all for your wishes..
Update on me-
doc said all seems to be ok-in the sense that my cervix is 2/3rd tightly closed- whatever that means :? so the doc said theres no need for stitches, but to stay at rest as much as possible and review in 2 weeks! She refused to elaborate further!
So 9th I go back and perhaps will get a scan.. not sure...
Feeling a little weepy just now- not sure why, but there it is-must be this weather- cloudy and gloomy..Wishing for some sunshine!

Cheryl,
Inspite ofmy being 27 weeks, lil one seems to kick only now and then.. its reassuring, though i wish it happened more! Something like the nausea( kept waiting for it to happen, but it just didnt!)
So maybe your lil one is the quiet sorts too..
Cheryl, I know you and Joanne know each other- are you in touch?is she ok? just wondering if shes ok..

Little P,
Hows the Christmas shopping going?Or did you pick up stuff for everyone while on vacation? Its good to have you back!I LOVE your new smiley- its so cute!

Christine-
wishing you lots and lots of happiness- cant wait to hear your news! It'll be a lovely christmas! :D truly festive!
Say Hi to jessica- I read her posts to bonbon recently and was happy to see her online..

Vicky,
As Cheryls says, perhaps your dream home is waiting for you..

Olivia,
Glad to hear your check up went well..Have you been advised bedrest as well?
Kim,
Good to see you're in the last leg of this race!
Maybe I'll start feeling baby's boday parts in a couple of weeks as well.
The back and neck massages sound wonderful. but looks like I'll have to get back to Bahrain before Icanget someone to give me one!

Esther,
Areyou ok?Hows the back now?

Ange,
Whens your appointment now? Did you call the hosp abt the goof up they did?Take care of you..

Susie,
I know you're third tri now, but hope you're ok..

and a hi to you Minnow, Jude and Julie.

have a great weekend everyone!

I'm glad that things are sounding more positive, though I totally sympathise with how frustrating it must be that they can't just give you the 100% reassurance that you need right now.

Do as they said and get plenty of rest! I'm sending a huge cyber hug of love and best wishes.

I've about done on the Christmas shopping - I did start it a while ago and have just kept plugging away, and now only a couple to do. These will be done on Christmas Eve as we have a traditional day in London - to Harrods and out to lunch!! Can't wait.

I wish I could offer you some some sunshine from here, but as you've probably heard we're about to hit the BIG FREEZE - sounds like fun hey!!!!

Anyway, take care of yourself and remember to get as much rest as possible.

YOOOOOHOOOO EVERYONE
im back after a lovely time..weather wasnt all that good as we had a lot of rain but was still warm... was good for me because when it was hot boy was it hot..i would recomend a cruise to anyone as u could do as much or as little as u wanted
wot a shock coming home to this weather altho today is lovely and sunny but bet its still cold.. i wont know as im not venturing out today
its taken me nearly a day to read all ur posts my oh my u ladies can type ha ha
cheryl going back to bonfire night did u know u can get tablets from the vets to sedate her?? we used to get them for our dog and give her them on neew years eve aswell
lots has been happaning to u all while iv been away and we all seem to have such diff feelings and twinges
im feeling the poping movements now was just slightly when i was away but since iv come back its been nearly all day more in the morning and evening ... such a lovely feeling
i went to see my gp and she is continueing to give me sick notes so it looks like i wont be going back to work...it makes me feel a lot happier knowing that i wont have any stress or having to phone and let people down if i dont feel well some days ...iv spoke to work and there happy with the situation and as i get full pay and it doesnt go down on my record everyone is happy all round
i also went for another scan and to see the consultant everything is doing as it should be and all is going well
im going to antinatal with my gp in a fortnight which i thought was strange it not being with the midwife but as long as i see someone
iv only seen the midwife once at 13 weeks is this normal??
also my due date has changed again this is about the 5th date iv had now and consultant said this is the ONE .. so im the 28TH MARCH.... isnt this the same date as u cheryl???
its 12,45 and im still in my jim jams was just going to get dressed and hubbys just phoned to say hes working over till 6 so i mite just have a lazy day go make a cuppa grab a dvd and go back to bed...woho heaven
its nice to be home back in my own bed with my puss cats and im so glad everyone is well and plodding thu the days
cheryl i dont know wot happened to ultimama we never heard from her since the new orleans thing so im thinking....NO wont even go there ... just hope and pray shes ok

Hi Jacs - great to have you back due date buddy!! (How cool is that?!) I bet it's all white with you isn't it judging by the pictures on the news? We didn't get any snow in the end - just bitter wind and frost - I feel cheated! I hadn't realised that it was the New Orleans time when UM stopped posting - I really hope everything is okay with her too. Sounds like you had a great time on hol and had lovely scan when you got back. I'm surprised that you haven't seen much of midwife - maybe there's a shortage of staff, still, like you said, as long as you're seeing someone and who better than a GP. I see my midwife once a month at moment but it will change to once every two weeks from 30 weeks and once a week from week 34 - is that similar to other people? Enjoy your rest - good to hear that work is being so great about things - they must really value you - it's nice to hear a positive work story because so many people have a lot of hassle with work and pregnancy.

Smita - So glad that things are sounding really good for you. I'm sure the two week thing will be precautionary and it'll be good reassurance for you to see GP every two weeks so don't worry too much.
I think you're right about mine being very quiet baby - he/she is certainly keeping himself / herself to himself / herself!
Unfortunately me and Joanne have lost touch - we were texting each other but after what happened she said she needed some space and I left her a message to say I was here when she was ready to be in touch again but I've not heard anything from her. I do understand - it must be really tough for her because every mile stone for us is a reminder of where she would have been if things had gone well so I'm not surprised but it would be lovely to know that she's okay. I'm sure we'll hear from her again at some point when she's ready.

Lil P - Harrods at Christmas Eve - sounds lovely - imagine next year when it's Harrods + Christmas Eve + little LittleP or little DH - ahhh!

  Thanks for that lovely picture, can't wait

Jacs

Good to have you back safe and sound. I'm like Cheryl I see my Midwife every month, but I also see my GP frequently too. I guess this is down to areas we all live in :?

DH and I have been out all afternoon looking and looking and when we got back I had a terrific nose bleed  Needless to say DH was wonderful and took care of the situation perfectly as I was panicking slightly!!

Take care all.

no snow here im in the north and most of the south seems to of been hit it is very cold tho a little warmer today when the sun came out i did venture out for a few mins only to fetch the bin in from binmen that was enough
iv not started any xmas shopping yet its a case of knowing wot to buy people i have told ppl were not going over the top this year as we will have all the expence in the new year and im sure ppl understand.... we are going to my mums on xms day as we do every year and then to my aunts where my dad(and stepmother..grrrrrrrr) is also going on boxing day...i love xmas i turn into such a big kid and every year my mum asks me do i still want a stocking with the same answer back ... YESSSSSSSS... why she asks i dont know !!!!
new years eve isnt such fun any more and i havnt enjoyed it for about the past 10 years my hubby was on about going to his golf club where u pay £45 each all u can drink buffet and taxi home...but as i pointed out certain foods i cant eat i havnt touched a drop of the hard stuff since june the 4th and i can taxi myself home ...so i think hes gone off that idea now..sometimes he forgets and thinks life is the same as it was untill i remind him that yep were having a baby !!!! ha ha
when i go to see the doc in fortnight i will ask her about the midwife thing and should i be seeing her and also i never asked if and when ill be getting another scan
sometimes its as if they treat u like u should know everything its very hard when its ur first and ur trying to find out every scrap of info possible..
i hope everyone has a lovely weekend and keeps warm with feet up

HI Jacs,
Welcome back!!Its good to be home aint it?
I for one, cant wait to get back to Bahrain with my lil one!Have been counting the days abt 4 months to go since I wont pack and leave the moment lil one is born..
Have a lovely Christmas with your own stocking!Still a month to go huh?

Cheryl,
Thanks for your words, all of your reassurances really help and take away this loneliness- all the friends I grew up with have left this place, so you girls are all I have!
So what does you instinct say on what you're having?I believe the chinese lunar calendar is correct 90% of time! Its avbl on the net

Little P,
As always, you're a burst of sunshine..I do hope your nose bleed is ok now.. I had it a week back and didnt tell my parents at all, as I didnt want them to fuss. the only irritating thing was my nose was blocked too and sleeping was a bit tough..
Isnt Harrods this HUGE, EXPENSIVE store on Oxford Street? I've only seen the Harrods in the Heathrow airport duty free- heard that the window decorations are beautiful during christmas..
Have fun!

Sorry about the ticker - hope it's not causing too many problems, just wanted to add some festive cheer. I am excited about Christmas now, I am just like a little child.

Hope you are doing ok - taking care and getting that all important rest.

I can totally understand how lonely you must feel at times, but remember we're all here for you should you need to have a few hugs.

Hope everyone is taking care.

Gosh, I seem to have missed a lot of posts - I thought I'd been on yesterday but maybe I didn't. Sorry to hear Smita and Lil P that you've been hit with the nosebleed thing. We're a bit more susceptible aren't we for things like that when pregnant? I've got a really sore nose that is constantly blocked up and runny if that is even possible!

Smita - I think (very tentatively) that I'm having a girl. I don't know why, I just do and me and DH have both dreamed I'm having a girl. Everyone I know says I'm carrying like I'm having a boy but I just feel it's a girl - don't know why, I just do. I won't mind what it is but I'll be interseted to see if intuiution counts for anything. Hope you don't feel too lonely - must be tough waiting to go home but it's coming around and won't be too long now. As Lil P says, we're all here for you when you need us. When is DH visiting again?

Jacs - can't believe you didn't get any snow, that's not fair! Still I don't suppose there was much you could do with it being pregnant - probably safer not to have it but it just looks so lovely and Christmassy - I always wish for it. Know what you mean about New Years Eve - I think we're staying in but my parents are goiing to a party and staying at a hotel - just a slight role reversal!! It'll get us used to many nights in ahead!

Lil P - I love your ticker too - I would ask how you did it but I'd probably wreck the site if I start messing around with anything technical!

Esther - how's the back doiing?

Hi Vicky, Olivia, Ange, Kim and everyone else

Much love

hi all,
wishing you belated birthday wishes, welcome back from hols, congratulations on lovely scans and all the other nice news it's been so great to read about today!!

i've definitely been in hibernating mode in all this bad weather. no snow, but v cold. i just cannot seem to get out of bed in the morning any more and it's only by lunchtime that i'm feeling halfway human!!

have now ordered and got most of the baby gear which is very exciting. i might have waited a little longer normally but with xmas coming up and a house move it seemed better to sort it out now. my parents house is filling day by day with all sorts of goodies and contraptions (brest pump for example!) and i'm getting very excited. we move into our house on dec 8th so it will be great to start nesting.

have a lovely weekend all and take care as ever.

Hi Minnow - lovely news about your house. Enjoy the move - not long to go now and enjoy getting the nursery set up - sounds like you're all organised, that will really help with house and Christmas stress - at least you don't have to worry about preparing for baby - all done!

Enjoy Nesting and Christmas in a new home,

Best wishes,
