Few or no symptoms?

Post by carbev »

Hi - I mentioned this on another thread, but thought it might be worth asking again - any of you getting few or no symptoms after a +ve?

I'm only asking as I'm only getting the odd headache. I was tired a week ago, but now I feel back to normal (pre +ve). Also in my last pregnency, I conceived twins, but one was a 'chemical' pregnancy - nothing in the sack at 8 weeks, and the other didn't make it past 8.5 weeks, despite a heartbeat. What I'm wondering is, since I had two embies transferred, could 2 chemical pregnancies add up to look like 1 healthy? My HCG level at 4+3 was over 600. Anyone know anything?

Thanks a million for reading this,
love
Caroline

I can't help with the answers, but I had little or no symptoms, myself, in the early stages. I had mild OHSS but other than that - nothing.

I did several HPTs in those first weeks to keep reassuring myself (and DH) that it was happening.

Get lots of rest and try to relax. I know, its so much easier said than done.

I have been lucky - DH is keen to help and has taken over a lot of the cooking, housework etc., so that I am able to lay on the settee and rest!

Take care
Best wishes

Same here - very few symptoms and had to keep doiing HPts like Ange. Didn't know Hcg levels sorry but certainly didn't feel pregnant at all - I only know now cos of huge balloon on my tummy!!

Relax - Jan will come around before you know it - just try and enjoy the fact that you are pregnant and incredibly lucky to feel so healthy (it is a blessing once you get over wanting to have symptoms to feel pregnant)

Hi Carbev

This time round I only have queasy symptoms, but not sore boobs which last time were huge and agony. This time my protocol is different. Each pregnancy is different too. If you have a Beta hcg of 600 at 4 weeks + 3 (if I understood you right) then you should be dancing (carefully) round the house as this is a very good high level, I had 48 at 4 weeks on my last pg that also ended in m/c at 7.5 weeks in spite of h/b. I get my beta result Monday (tested Friday) so am biting my nails this weekend too..inspite of having had a dramatic dark +ve clear blue twice now...we had ICSI with DE and had 4 put back so who knows whats in there. Just praying that it's not a double ectopic

Sweetie, I reckon we are also in the once bitten twice shy group, I feel like I am sitting ona time bomb and am trying to be pragmatic...tough after a m/c especially when you've seen h/beat, I know how you feel.

lets hold hands shall we????

big hugs

Hi everyone -
Thanks so much for your reassuring posts, I really appreciate it.
BigJ - all the best for your results today, I'm sure they are going to be great - can't wait to hear how many latched on / how high the levels are!

Would be glad to hold hands over next few weeks... you were spot on with once bitten twice shy - I keep having little panics due to so few symptoms. Not helped by DH's sisters telling him what symptoms they had for their (successful without any help) pregnancies and then DH asking why I'm not getting the same. As if I'm not worried enough as it is. I know they mean well but I would dearly like to throttle the lot of them - instead, am grinning through gritted teeth.

Newest worry is that I seem to be losing weight. Was 57Kg at start of this cycle of treatment and am now 55Kg. Normally my weight is extremely stable - I'm lucky if I can get it to vary by 1Kg even if I try really hard. Could it be giving up the booze for the last 6 weeks? (yes, yes - makes me sound like a right old alchy!) I've read a few articles on healthy eating in pregnancy and thought I was doing OK.

Think I'll do some Christmas shopping and try to get some PMA.
All the best again bigJ + T - can't wait to hear your good news,
love
Caroline

Caroline

Just very quickly as I should be getting ready to go to work!!
I lost some weight after I started my treatment, I lost more as I was getting over OHSS. All in all, I lost about 6Kg from starting treatment to being 6 weeks pg. I have just arrived back at my pre-treatment weight when I weighed myself this morning.

I put it down to a lot of different factors - eating a bit more healthy, not drinking, and the stress and worries of it all!

Must go or I will be late (again!)
Take care
Best wishes

Hi Caroline

as you saw on the other side, bata was 386 at ET+14 (we count it as day 15 as ET was evening and ICSI was morning 2 days earlier) anyway, am relieved. Also had first scan 2 day, totally unexpected, and it's a singleton so I pray an pray that it has a good chance of surviving and it hasn't landed on my fibroid

I have lost weight too since startiung tmt, quite different from last time. The protocol is different but also I think I am more worried and up tight. My neck and shoulders locked up and have had to have physio the last few days as couldn't move my head - (hence no posts) all stress says the doc, and of course no drugs, no sport because of m/c risk so have to try and start to relax and take it a day at a time. My boobs have filled out a bit but are not sore, still feel queasy and a bit "out of it" found myself wanderi8ng round the supermarket aimlessly yesterday, couldn't remember why things were in my trolley

feel a bit better after the scan, but of course too earlly to see if the sac is empty or not...

How are you sweetie????

Hi there bigJ,

been reading all your posts - congratulations - it's great that you've got one firmly stuck, and if it's pumping out that much HCG, then it must be a very healthy one... So relax now and let your poor old neck and shoulders recover! Can you get to a regular therapist or masseur? That might be very relaxing and help a bit too. Definitely got you out of shopping and any housework waiting to be done!!

I was sorry to hear you got a surprise with the internal scan - I felt just the same my first time, but it seems to be completely common practice here and I've had one almost every time I've been in, to monitor follicle growth etc. Even had to have one on day 2 of AF, which completely grossed me out, so am praying this pregnancy works and can resign all of that to the dim and distant past.

Fingers crossed now for your next scan - but I really think it's going to be fine. Which thread is Denise on? - would like to stay in touch as we seem to be the 3 muskateers at the mo. Guess I must have seen it and am being a bit of a Duh-brain!

All the best - it is great to hear fantastic news,
Caroline

Hi carbev,

I don't have any symptoms too. I am only at 4 weeks 2days. But my beta hcg has doubled since last monday, which is the only thing I am depending on. But I am having lot of heart burn and very little nausea. You have hcg 600 that means you might be having twins :P . My first ultra sound is on dec 31st.

Good Luck
