Hi, I am new to the board!. But old to TTC
I have been trying to conceive for 4 years with no success. I am an Indian living in USA. We tried few IUI cycle with clomid( about 6 cycle) with no success. I went to India this year and did 2 ivf and it failed again. I am back in USA. Now thinking of iui with injection for few cycles. If it fails I think will again go back to india and try ivf at different location. It is so frustrating to go thru this. does any of you have any sugetion for me to try out? Thanks. by the way we have male fertility problem( low count)
Where are you in US? why didn't you try ivf in US? There are some good ivf clinics in US. I think Smita knows better where to go for ivf in India. Don't lose hope. You will get through it one day.
Reddy,
our insurance do not cover any fertility issues. So thought of getting it done in India!. well, in India, I tried in one of the repited clinc in Bombay, but it failed. so want to try in bangalore this time. Will appreciate any inputs on which doctor to go?
By the way I am in Missouri. Where are you? I read that you have gone for accupuncture. Can you tell me how it helps?
HI s_skb,
Welcome here..
sorry you're having tough time..
I've not been hearing good reports abt the reputed clinics in Bombay these days- though, they're all totally hearsay-Esp, the Dr M clinic is not doing too well now I believe.. I'm sorry you've had 2 bad results..I understand how all this is such a drain on our finances..
I'm prennat after tmt in Bangalore and went to Gunsheela IVF.
Very happy here with tmt and doctors. Not happy with waiting time!!
Will be happy to be of help.. any questions, just ask.
love,
smita

Hi Smitha, first of all Congratulations!.
As I am also from karnataka, i am thinking of doing my next IVF bangalore, either Gunasheela or Bacc. Can you reccomond any one else?
Also, what was the cost for IUI and ivf cycles?
It must be very exciting for you to get pregnant after 4 years of ttc.Do you know what you are having?
Sorry to but in, but couldn’t help noticing you said the problem is male factor. I’m surprised your clinics allowed you to do IUI – with male factor surely there’s hardly any chance of success? ICSI is really the only option for male factor (which is our problem). IUI really only works for couples where the male (or donor male) has a healthy sperm count, and straight IVF is also not considered the best option either. With my DH’s low count we were told it was ICSI or nothing.
just wanted to agree with Dancola as well. We have male factor (and female factor but that's another story) and we are not only doing ICSI but we are using sperm surgically won from the testes by a procedure called TESE as for us at least these are the very best quality sperm.
One thing - have you got your dh taking mega super sperm vitamins??? my dh took them for 4 months before retrieval and it made a huge difference on quality (we are using the ones from zitawest.com)
2nd thing - you say you are too old to ttc - what do you mean?? you might have an egg quality problem are your FSH levels OK and have you had an ovarian function test?? these are worth testing before you launch into your next cycle to make sure you are also producing the goods (I can't so we used donor eggs) YOu should look at supplements, again zita west does a very good one for prenantal. Her book on fertility and conception is very helpful about assisted conception and what you can do to help it work, you cna get it from amazon.com
hope that helps a bit - Smita is the mummy

sha,
the wise women Nicola and Jules have picked up on the male fertility issue on your post- what they say makes loads of sense..Please look into your male factor bit as IUI may not really help..
And I can only recommend Gunsheela here in Banglore from my personal experience with them...IVF is a personal thing and everyone has a different experience with different clinics, so you may want to ask someone you know who's been to,or known of BACC also..
Cost wise most clinics charge the same- only the drug regime, and therefore the cost varies from individual to individual.
My cycle cost me approx 85k( in rupees that is)included all my drugs prior to the BFP and all procedures. The other meds like progesterone, folic acid etc are extra as are the other meds prescribed (I'm on heparin injections as well)as and when I've needed them..
take care, thank you for your wishes
smita

Hi Nicola and Jules & Smitha,
Thanks for your suggetion. Doctor says male factor is not so lowthat it wont happen in IUI( around 10-15mil/ML) , But ofcourse never happened!.
Jules , What I meant by old to ttc is, I ahve been trying since long, not because I am too old, I am 29 and my Dh is 34.
By the way we did do ICSI when we did our IVF. I have docs appointmnet today. Will let you know how it goes.
Hello skb....look i know something about that ,i was in that category
with male fertillity problem i had around 10 to 15 % of mortillity, and this is really low ,the minimum is 30 %, and now after being on clomid for allmost 2 years i'm on 50 to 60% ,and i like to add that is not good change all this clinics, you need to stay with one only so that they get to know you better and try new and better methods, unfortunally if you keep on get -pma is not becouse the clinic but for some other unexplained problems ...India does have the latest technology when comes to iui or ivf procedures, so keep on praying and hope ,and yes here must of insurances does not cover any of this , and it can be really expensives

Hi Tony,
My Dh is taking clomid 25mg for a month now, Dr suggested to take for 2 more months and go for an analysis.
I had an appointment with my RE in USA and had a talk with him. He suggested that we can try IUI with injections(Repronex) for few cycles before moving onto IVF here in USA.
yes i belive that 25 mg is half pill, however it will take more than 2 months
if i remember correctelly my md told me at least 6 months of cure, why??
becouse sperm change every 6 months (or so i was told)but i'm not a doctor.....
