Kagome and mandyb -

great news about your scans and congratulations for leaving the IVF and joining 'the rest'! Hope the next three weeks pass quickly (so you can enjoy your next scans) without too much sickness etc.

To Smita, Denise, Talorjools and all the other kind ladies who reassured me a few weeks back when I was having no symptoms, just wanted to say - I am eating my words!! Now have almost every single simptom in the book - sick all day long, extreme smell sensitivity, bleeding gums, nosebleeds, fatigue and now I can't get into my favourite jeans! Boobies still disappointingly small though... gotta laugh!

Kagome, you're right, this thread has been a bit quiet - is everyone on another thread that I've not had time to find?? Will have a quick look now.

Take care all,
Caroline xx

I'm here, just sickly. And I've made a big effort to be at work everyday this week, dispite the puking and the diarrhea, so that by the time I've been getting home, I've been sleeping on the couch.

I'm still waiting to hear when I see the doc next, hopefully soon.

Hugs, guys.

Hi Denise, glad you're around

Your halo is shining - I can see it from here and that's quite something! But really - take a day off now and then if you can - only a couple more weeks until you're into the 2nd tri!

love

Still 1 wk 1 day until scan and see-sawing between really excitied and really worried, but I haven't got this far before, so every day is a blessing! Really want to find another doctor after this next scan as mine is good at the technical stuff but not good at reassuring me and not very approachable - probably a cultural thing. Would also be great to be at a hospital closer to home as, if all goes well, DH will not be entitled to any paternity leave and would have to slip out between lessons.

One day at a time though!!

Caroline

P.S. DH is a teacher, not student - don't want you guys thinking I'm a cradle snatcher!!!!

Hi girls

me too - pukey wookey and absolutelky shattered, incapable of rational thopught or finishing anything which is a sod as I am supposed to be applying for all sorts of stuff at the moment and doing dh't book keeping for last year  no chance - sofa sofa sofa

not being sick, just feeling like 3 bottles of Johnny Walker on a north sea ferry in a storm

I am sooooooooooooo lucky with my weekly scans  I know I am, it's the main reason I can put up with it here, medical support is fantastic. Otherwise I am going insane, need to meet some other pg ladies soon...wish we could all get together.

Last scan got a wave, next one 2morrow. Terrified now about stoppingmeds..

Love you all sweeties

Hi J,

Glad you are getting plenty of opportunities to see your little one - it must be really reassuring! Haven't heard of Patrick Holford... could you mention any book titles? Wouldn't mind trying to get hold of one.

I'm 11+2 now (must be a real Duh-brain, cos I just can't get a ticker to work... any hints?) and am nearly entirely off the meds, except aspirin. Funny thing is that symptoms are getting worse - and I thought they would be easing off... anyone know when that's supposed to happen? A very close friend of mine had nausea and vomiting throughout her pregnancy - can you imagine 6 more months of that?! [Just read J's post lower down - so 14 weeks is the target for less sickness, fabulous, think I can manage that!]

Denise - hope you're feeling a bit better now and that work is not being too demanding. Have you found anything to alleviate the sickness? Ginger ale does it for me, but I'm scared to look at the calorific content of each can as I'm getting through about 8 a day, easily. Not putting on any weight though, although only have one pair of trousers I can get into comfortably now. How you guys doing?

Kagome - how far along are you now? Hope the next three weeks goes swiftly for your next scan.

TTFN,
love

extreme hunger

Post by tsippora »

Hi friends,

I'm exactly 8 weeks, and for the past several days I have been experiencing an unremitting hunger. No matter how much I eat it never fully goes away, and within 30 minutes of eating it's back in full force again. I can't even sleep! Can this be normal?

Help me -- extreme hunger pains really hurt, and it's no fun to have to eat every hour. I am normal weight (though I've gained 2 lbs in the last 5 days).

Hi Tsippora,

Congratulations for reaching week eight! Hope you are feeling alright, despite the monster appetite.

I haven't heard anyone talking about this - lack of appetite, yes - but not constant hunger. I really think you should contact your doctor today - there may be absolutely nothing wrong, but better to be safe etc. Also - you can't sleep and are experienceing pain.. poor you :( def call the doc. Also, rapid weight gain might not be too good over an extended period of time.

Well let us know how you get on,

love

Hi girls

just posting in to say scan was good so sweetie is showing +2 days from official dates which makes me 11+3 2day  sickness easing off a bit BUT have slipped a disk in my neck - AGONY   can't sleep, sit, lie down nothing, it's terrible. Dr has tried to mainpulate it but too painful, so doing gentle physio to settle it down + rest until they can try and manipulate. Bl***y hell now I am completely useless and can't even wtch telly or read for more than a few minutes at a time

Sorry very self indulgent

So glad we are all doing so well so far - has someone heard from Lav????
I also had terrible hunger cravins while feeling sick at the same time, this has eased off now, although the pain is making me nauseous now..

hugs

J!

I'm here! Sorry, just been lying low and wishing the weeks away until the 12wk scan (31st!) I know I shouldn't but can't help it.

What a bugger about your neck - maybe you should get a slave!!

I too feel sick and hungry at the same time. Sickness goes whilst eating but the minute I stop...sicky again! Also, finding it hard to fit into clothes now. Went out and bought trousers that would normally be 2 sizes too big! Oh dear, it's not like I'm feeding on junk either!

Oh yeah...got 1st midwife appointment booked for 7th Feb. How exciting is that?! Hope I don't get an evil one! Picked up a Mothercare cataglogue the other day...'just to get an idea'....Hmm, think I'm becoming too obsessed?!

Wishing all you First Trimester loads of PMA and good luck.

I had the sicky nausea right up until 12 weeks and had to eat the whole time to stem it! It did disappear very soon after the 12 weeks so fingers crossed for you all.

Jules - take it easy and I hope that the neck gets better very, very soon.

Good luck with all your various appointments - anyone having any scans soon?

Hugs

Little P

Hey guys.

How goes? There's a bunch of us just about ready to move to the second tri - which week are you guys moving at?

Yesterday I had a dr. appt, the good news is I got to hear one baby - difficult to determine which one you hear, if you're hearing the same one more than once. We even picked up a kick noise! Also, I talked my dr. into another u/s, she wanted me to wait until 18 wks. So I thought I'd wait a week or two, then book it. I'd like to see that both babies are still doing okay.

Unfortunately the weather was really bad, and I shouldn't have been driving. I had two accidents. Not too serious, and the jeep is still drivable - but scared the heck out of me. Next time I'll cancel the dr. until the weather is better.

The doc gave me something to ease off the morning sickness, and something to help with the other end too, so hopefully soon I start to feel a little better, its tough trying to work while having to visit the toilet multiple times each hour.

Anyways, take care, I'll check in soon.
