Good luck Kim! The hand washing thing is so hard to make everybody follow. Some people think it's only for the "dirty" people and not them. :? I'm a bit worried about them catching any sort of cold. We have had 3 out of 4 nights go really well and I know a cold would mess up my attempt at keeping this schedule. I literally have been crossing my fingers while laying in bed while they drift off to sleep.

I was telling dh tonight that I am going to make a shirt to wear for the holidays that says "I am not looking for unsolicited advice on raising my children today!" While on the phone today w/ MIL Annelise was getting fussy and she let me know that I should be putting cereal in their bottles. What???? They are 11 weeks old! Technically 5 weeks! Who does that? When I told her no way she said I should call my Pediatrician and make sure. My MIL is a sweet person but she may drive me to drinking!

I think That Ellie and Annelise are a lot alike. Annelise will take it all in but she'd rather do it at a distance and when she's done. . .hang her up! She'll let you know. Bodie on the other hand loves a good party and wants to be front and center until the lights go out. Just love how different my two little people can be!

Have a great night everyone! Can't wait to see some holiday photos of everyone. Seems the babies change so much all the time!

Take care~

My dad thought they should be on rice cereal long ago, but our ped says "no". He doesn't want us giving any solids at all until 6 months. I know some other docs are okay with it once they're 4 or 5 months. I think it has something to do with allergies. your MIL was just raised with the idea (as my dad was) that rice cereal will help them sleep through the night. Supposively just an old wives tale. Good luck with the t-shirt! ha ha!

Kim I am still here:) Taking it really slow now days:) It seems all I do is just laying in bed and watching TV or reading a book LOL:)

It is so hard to move and I am hoping to last couple of more weeks, at least till my baby shower on 2nd, I will be 35 + weeks.

I am glad your babies are doing fine, I love reading on their progress!

girls, sorry for tmi, but I just really need to ask you this, during your last weeks of pregnancy did you feel any vaginal pressure? I can barely walk because of it. My ob seems to really ignore this , and my cervix is closed.

Hello mummies and mummies to be.

Our Twins finally arrived on the 31st October, by planned c section weighing a whopping 7lbs 13 1/2 and 7lbs 7. They are absolutely adorable and being a mummy is the best job in the world.

:)

Been reading up on everyones post and glad to hear babies are doing well.

Malinka I had that pressure really bad, and did'nt leave the house for the last month or so. I made it to 38 + 2.

Babies are calling me, have a great night everyone.

Malinka--glad to hear you're hanging in there! Good luck making it to your own shower...you might have to cross your legs a bit! Sorry to hear about the pressure. I actually didn't have that, but a friend of mine did. Her twins were really low and both head down (which allowed her a vaginal delivery). Have you had an u/s lately? Maybe that's your case?

Teen--Congrats on the Halloween babies! WHat WONDERFUL weights!!!! You go, girl! It took my babies a good 3 or 4 weeks to get that size. Yeah, for you! I hope you're able to get some sleep right now. How's feeding going?
What are their names? We need more info!
:)

Kimberly, you'll appreciate this...we had our big dinner at my in-laws tonight. We had to fidget with the babies' nap schedule in order to make it there on time. So, of course, Ellie was fussy. Can't handle adjustments to HER schedule. PRima donna already! 8) Braeden loved being the center of attention, but Ellie couldn't handle being in the main room with the crowd. So, my DH's aunt rocked with her in another room so I could eat. Poor little thing just doesn't like too much stimulation. I'm really going to have to try and get out with these kids more. Ellie's going to have to get used to more people. IT's just hard to get two babies out and about in the cold weather. BUt, I WILL do it! Now, if we can just make it through THanksgiving. I'm having it at my house. Don't ask......

G'night!

Congrats Teen!!!! Those were awesome weights for your babies! What a great twin delivery for you! Like Kim said. . .we need more details and photos!!!! Congrats again!

Mailinka~ Sorry to hear about your pressure??? I didn't have it either but it sounds horrid! Stick with it. Your getting closer every day dear!

Kim~ Thanksgiving at your house?????   You are the bravest new mom of twins I know! My MIL doesn't think I can do anything with these small babies so I am only expected to bring an appetizer this year! There are some perks to her thinking I know nothing! :D She really is sweet. I'm not trying to rip on her but today she just really rallied me!
Bless little Ellie's heart. That is my Annelise to a T! She just tends to be happier with less action. Who can blame her?

I just put the babies down and it seems they are getting better every day. Now they go 5 hours each, wake, feed, back down and up 3 hours later. Then they are up and fed and put back down withing 35 minutes and they sleep another good 3 hours. Makes me so happy to know they will at least get some decent sleep somewhere in the day now.

Have a good night everyone!

Kim they are heads down! right now, do you think that's the case?? I seriously walk like a duck, if you can imagine me walking with a pillow between my legs, pretty embarassing:(
I am a lil bit scared about vaginal delivery, just because if I deliver baby A fine, B be G-d forbid will go to distress and I would end up with c section anyways.... Oh decisions, decisions decisions!!

Malinka--you sound just like my friend! she was SO worried that she'd have to deliver both ways. The chances of doing both are pretty slim, I think. But, I'm sure your ob will guide you in the right direction. If you can avoid a section, you'll have a faster recovery, but if you do have a section, it's totally doable. Plus, you get some good drugs!

Kimberly--I'm not THAT brave. My sister and dad are coming over on Wed. Dad's going to watch the kids, while my sister and I cook and clean. Plus DH will help. I'm having it for 2 reasons....first off, my kids seem to like the comforts of home. So, if Ellie has a scream fest, I can take her up to her nursery and put her down for a nap. Secondly, we had turkey day last year, and that's when we told our family we were pregnant....so we have REALLY good memories of that, and we thought it would be neat to have everyone over again. Of course, my mom is helping a ton too...so it shouldn't be too bad! I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Teen, hope you're doing well!

How are our newly preggo mommies doing?

Hey ladies!
Sorry I have been MIA! I got SERIOUSLY bad morning sickness, threw up 24/7, couldn't get any food or liquid down, had to get on medicine to help me not get sick and now I am finally getting better! I lost 6 pounds in one week being pregnant with twins!? How crazy is that!?

It sounds like all your twins are going to have a blast this week with all the family they are going to be seeing! Kholtan....your tshirt idea sounds great! Please send me one for not wanting advice on being pregnant with twins! (-; Can I tell you how many people have asked me if I have tried Saltines for morning sickness?! Um....of course!? ha ha!

So, my two new fascinations with being pregnant with twins are the stroller situation and actual labor. Do twin moms just assume they are going to deliver vaginally unless it doesn't work out and do a c-section or how does all of that work? Strollers.....side by side or front and back for when they are infants? I would love to hear what has worked for ya'll!

faithandhope--Yikes! That's some crazy morning sickness...I am so sorry to hear that. AT least you're on some meds to help keep stuff down. Don't worry, the pounds will show back up, even if you don't want em. :? As for delivery, I really wanted to go vaginally, but my son turned breech around 28 weeks or so. So, my doc wouldn't even consider it. Other docs are more adventurous, but my doc wanted healthy babes and healthy momma. As for strollers, I have multiple...I got the snap-n-go, which is front/back. Great for infant car seats! Then, I got a side by side now that they're a little older, plus I got a jogger stroller. I think most of us got the full range of different ones!

Faithandhope~
So glad to hear your MS is under control. I never had it and after hearing about yours I am so happy. Good luck keeping it at bay.

As far as delivery goes I really wanted to go all natural and then fate stepped in and I had an emergency c-section. My mind set was that I had preferences A, B, and C. I was also comfortable throwing all my choices ou the window if I had to, and I did, just to have healthy babies. I educated myself on all the options and was very comfortable when I found out that I was going to be operated on in a few minutes notice. DH also felt great about it because we really walked through every option together and did teh "What if" talk.

Strollers. . .exactly what Kim said. I could not get by w/o my snap-n-go right now but I also have a nice narrow Maclaren side by side for later. It gets in and out of door ways so nicely. We even have the jogger stroller which was great at the beach and the rugged areas around our home. I wouldn't want to be w/o any of them!

Just enjoying how peaceful most of our nights have become~
Have a good evening everyone!

So am I Kim! The reality is that the more we are on schedule, the better they do. Of course we are slaves to it until they get a bit more consistant but I am perfectly fine with that!
