Hey gals,

For you american ladies, I hope you had a good turkey day! i survived having my family over. It went really well actually. AND, Ellie didn't have a meltdown---yeah yeah!!! :) :) Both babies really seemed to enjoy the change of pace, and when they had too much, we put them to bed. Our family helped clean up afterwards too, so I can't complain!

Malinka, how you feeling? I hope you're still with us!

Glad to hear everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Ours was crazy!!!! We had to go from my brothers house to Dh's mothers house and both were full of people and noise!!!! The babies went 8 hours or so with about an hour of sleep. You can imagine! Needless to say, hosting it next year sounds better and better since they can't sleep anywhere else. Funny how I would give up most anything to make sure my little peeps sleep! Other than that it's just been really busy with family in town.

Take care and have a great night everyone!

malinka--just thought I'd pop in to see if anything was happening? I know your shower's coming up. I hope you get to enjoy it and get lots of goodies! I have 2 showers to go to this weekend. Ellie's going to one with me, and Braeden's going to the other. I'm trying to get them out more, so this is my small attempt! I'm not even going to try to take two of them at the same time. I'm just not that brave....

Well ladies, it seems we may have finally come down with our first issue! So sad! I think the little guy has an ear infection. He is very gassy, wants to be straight up and down, held all the time, doesn't eat as much as normal, and has been waking every 2-3 hours the last two nights in a row. No fever or anything but we will be headed to the RE tomorrow morning. What a bummer! hopefully it's nothing but we won't know until the morning.

Kim~ We take the twins EVERYWHERE now days. BUT. . .the big BUT. . . .the key is that we go around nap time. I feed the babes and play for a few minutes then load up an head out. My two cannot fight sleeping in the car and are usually asleep the entire time I am out! Sometimes one of them will wake up but we still knock on wood everytime we say how well it goes! With the weather growing colder every day I am sure this is about to come to a hault but it was great while it lasted. Good luck this weekend!

Better head to bed while the little ones are sleeping. Sleep is like gold around here!

Take care~

Could I be pregnant?

Post by sharishu »

Sorry to butt in to your pregnancy thread... just wanted to know if any of you twins-to-be-mommies had cramping during your 2ww? Also, can I be pregnant if my hair is shedding in the shower? Please someone, help!

Kimberly--sorry to hear that Bodie isn't doing well. I hope it's not an infection. Knock on wood, but we haven't had to deal with that yet. Could it just be gas? My two are very gassy babies. (That was another reason bfing was difficult....I really had to watch my diet). We use Equate gas drops, and they work great. Much better than Mylicon. Equate is the generic Wal Mart brand. Someone with twins recommended them to me, and they've worked wonders. Good luck at the dr. appt. Give us an update!

I know what you mean about not taking them out in the cold. It's getting very chilly here, and I'd rather not deal with it. I used to take them on daily walks, but not now. If I weren't working, I'd probably go to the mall a lot....probably a good thing that I AM working, huh? Kimberly, do you take yours to the grocery, out to dinner, where else? Mine are at the age where they nap SO MUCH better in their cribs, that I would rather them nap at home. I prefer to take them out when they're awake, so they can see things. However, once I get that car moving, I usually lose one of them to zzzzzzz....

shari--Good luck to you. The 2ww is soooo hard. I personally didn't have any cramping. BUT, I did shed a lot of hair when I was pregnant. And, I have very thick hair so I had a lot to lose! I hope all works out for you.

Kim-
Congrats on your babes. Thanks for the hair info! I also have thick hair, so maybe the thick-haired gals shed hair. Who the heck knows. Anyways, trying to be patient 'till beta day.

Cramping stopped for today, so feeling a bit more relaxed, but none the wiser.

Hey Kim~
Well, it's been confirmed. Bodie has an ear infection. . . in BOTH ears!!!! Poor little fella! He is so pleasant most all the time that I didn't suspect a think until a couple days ago and even then it was questionable until last night when he was so upset. My RE said it has probably only been a few days but it porbably came from the Thanksgiving group of people. Just the right amount of time to incubate. Hopefully he is on the mend.

I know what you mean about wanting them to see things while out but like you ours start sleeping in the car and just don't wake easily. We take them everywhere, literally. After they hit about 6-8 weeks we started going out to dinner with family, the store either grocery or other, and to parks. Sometimes one of them will be awake and it's fun to watch them observe the new world. We have had tons of family in town the entire month and have gone out to eat about a dozen times and when one of them is awake it is so sweet to watch them check it all out. Annelise is such a studier and Bodie wants to be in the middle of it all or he's not happy. Rarely do I let other people handle them in public unless it's family and we carry hand sinitizer EVERYWHERE! It's literally on my key chain! Another place we go often is the book store. There is soothing music on and a nice clean restroom if needed.

Shari~ Sorry I can't help you. I didn't have crampig either or hair loss. I have heard that many pg women will have a change in hair texture and loss while pg. Let's hope it all means you are PG!!!! Good luck to you!

Better go get something done while they rest.
Take care~

Malinka- Congrats on making to 34 weeks! Hopefully you can make it to 36-37 weeks. I know you are so uncomfortable, but it would be wonderful if your babies didn't need any NICU time.

DH and I flew with the boys to Tucson, AZ to see the grandparents at Thanksgiving. Flights were okay but it was an exhausting week. Babies didn't sleep or nap well in the porta-cribs. They were in the same room with me, so I heard every time they rolled over or made any noise at all. I got very little sleep and then there were so many people around and so much noise, that the boys got overstimulated. I'm glad we went as DH' parents hadn't seen the boys yet, but it was harder than I thought it would be.

Jeremy now gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. I think he will be crawling soon. Nicholas is a little bit behind him. They can't still up alone, but will hold on to something and sit up. I can't wait unitl they can sit and hold their own bottles!

They have now had 3 ear infections since October! At least I now know what the symptoms are so I can get them on antibiotics quickly. Hope we don't have to have tubes put in their ears.

I realized yesterday how old they have gotten as I put the bouncies seats away. They used to spend all day in them, but now are to busy squirming around to sit in them. I also took the bassinett part of the pac-n-play and am now using it as a play pen. I am going today to buy outlet covers and locks for the cabinets. I want that all done before they start to crawl.

I can't believe my little 4 lb preemies will soon be crawling around the house getting into everything! By next Xnas they will be walking and saying Mama!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Laura--Sorry to hear that traveling was a pain. It is hard at this age to get out of our "routines', isn't it? I'm sure your inlaws enjoyed seeing the boys. I hope you catch up on your sleep soon! That's awesome that Jeremy can get on his hands/knees! Yeah! I keep watching my two to see if it will happen soon. I think we have a ways to go. The bouncy seats? I know what you mean....as soon as we get the high chairs up and going, our seats will disappear as well. How are the boys doing with food? We'd love to see pics when you can get a chance.

Malinka--Yeah, 34 weeks! You're doing great! I didn't have the itching, but I DID not sleep at the end. Just consider it training. You'll be ready for those first nights home with the babies!

Kimberly--that sucks about the infection. Yuck! I pray to avoid that. I had lots of infections as a kid, so I'm sure we'll get our fair share. Is it contagious? HOw's he doing?

shari--keep us posted. WHen's your pg test?

As for us, we're good. Drooling like nutz around here. I can't keep them dry to save msyelf! They're both squirming around on the floor a lot. I can tell Ellie wants to crawl but she doesn't get the knees idea yet. Braeden just keeps flipping himself over, so he never spends that much time on his actual belly! :) Both of my kiddos are getting less patient, which can be trying for me. They both seem to want to change activities often. Any advice? They both went with me to a dinner get-together last night, and they did really well! Ellie's starting to enjoy more attention! YEah!

Have a good weekend.

Kim- They are doing really well with food. They love applesauce, pears, and sweet potatos. They don't like green veggies, so we are waiting to introduce those. I still mix the food with rice cereal because the baby food is so runny that it runs down their chins. When I thicken it up with the cereal, they eat more and wear less!

Thanks for asking for pictures. I have attached two recent ones.
