Heather,

I'm sorry you got at BFN too. I have been so sad since yesterday. I just don't understand why this has to be so hard. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

hrobinson and ltaylor,

*HUGS* I know it's hard, especially towards the end, to just wait for your test day and be content with that. The more time passes, the more symptoms you experience, and the more nervous you get. But remember all those women who were convinced they had AF and they were still pregnant. The symptoms are misleading, so don't take cramping for AF. Think about our dear My2LnT here, who is going through a healthy pregnancy and still had cramping that made her worry... and worry that made her have cramping ( ). You are BOTH still PUPO guys.

I'm really sorry that the HPTs didn't give you the chance to tell your DHs the good news in advance and in the privacy of your home. But even if it gives a serious blow to the PMA, HPTs are NOT reliable at this point! My pharmacist strongly recommended me NOT to do one before my blood test, and you know why. You could still very well be pregnant, okay? And, as harsh as this sounds... even if you're really not pregnant, my dear friends, getting all depressed and angry about it will not change the outcome... but it will sure make your life crappier. Please take care of yourselves and just do yourselves some good, okay?

I'm thinking of you guys. *HUGS*

Dear all,
We are going through a difficult moment as a group. Our winners are already involved with their pregnancies, totally understandable...and some of us are still dealing with the uncertainties and disappointments. Heather and Ltaylor, I am thinking of you as you fear the worse and hope for a miracle. I have been pregnant before and, as PMApsy just wrote, you cannot believe in what your body signals while receiving massive dosages of medication. Wait for the test.
I remember when I had just moved to the US and was still owrking on validating my degrees and learning the language. As many immigrants, I worked in a nursing home in North Carolina. On Sundays, many religious groups came to pray with the residents. Their tone was enthusiastic and they spent more time near the beds with hopeful pacients...broken hips and strokes for example. Patients with stable sequels or terminal ilnesses received much less. With my broken English, I tried to pray for them, trying to find out what transformative message is within a loss. Not easy. But I think beign alone increases the pain and sharing it helps all of us with accepting the undetermined universe that allows us to be free.
I am glad this thread is here for the successes and the hurtful setbacks.
Speaking of which...thanks hrobinson. Your message came in a very important moment. Some drunk person came to my parent~s house and made threats (safety is a concern here ) and I had to help my parents with managing this crisis. My belly is hurting right now and I worry because today the embies are supposed to hatch and land softly in the endometrius. I hope they made it and your words made me feel, in fact, stronger.
With gratitude,
Literatriz

Heather, hang in there, it is still early days and as others have said it isn’t negative until you have your blood test. Sending you lots of hugs

Literatriz, I hope your mum and dad are giving you lots of TLC and you are enjoying spending time with them. It is a shame your DH had to head back to the USA, aren’t bureaucratic policy’s frustrating at times. (perhaps you could write him a special letter telling him about all the things you love about him and your life…. That way you will get the close feeling even though you are a long way away from each other)

Susan – I can’t believe how quickly your FET is coming up. I am sorry there are lots of other tough things going on in your life at the same time. I really hope that things calm down a little and you are able to take a little time for your self to refocus and feel strong

Ltaylor – sorry your HPT wasn’t positive but there is still 3 days till your official test - stay strong

Marsha – loved your list comments from hospital charts – my sister is a nurse and she loved them also

Sohpie – It sounds like my office – I started my current job 4 months ago and I still don’t have a permanent desk – I thought I had one a couple of weeks ago – but I arrived on Monday morning to find someone else claimed it over me!!!!!….. and my boss had the nerve to ask me if not having a permanent desk influenced my decision to resign last week…… well after 4 months the novelty of trying to find a desk every few days had gotten very old….. What is the paper you are working on about?

Tanya – 9 weeks – wow doesn’t time fly. I hope you are starting to relax and know your babies are getting nice and strong – just think you will be at 3 months before you know it.

I spent yesterday looking though some guide books working out where we are going to go in Japan. We are looking at getting a train pass so we can see lots of the country. I haven’t travelled by train since I spent 3 months travelling around the USA and Canada in 1994 – it was so much fun, I meet some really interesting people – some who I still keep in touch with. It will be fun being able to take my DH on a similar train adventure…….It feels good to have something different to IVF to focus on for a while. We have an appointment on the 25th July to see where we go next I have decided not rush it and possibly leave it another month before we start again other wise EC etc may all clash with end of semester exams. It also feels good to be doing something other than injecting myself and spending every waking hour thinking about it. I think also in reality I am totally afraid of starting again after 2 completely unsuccessful cycles and not a single embryo to show for it (other than the one they implanted last time). I know this will probably be our last chance and I know if it doesn't work I will some how have to deal with the reality of it all.....

Well enough with those negative thoughts….. back to that happy place…..

Have a good day tomorrow everyone

Love Angela

Hi all,

Heather and Ltaylor, like the others have said you don't know for sure yet so just wait and see. If it is negative we're still here to support. I read the HFEA guide to infertility last night; http://www.hfea.gov.uk/docs/Guide2.pdf and found the case studies in it quite reassuring, they all seemed to have had success after quite a few attempts

Tanya, glad things are still going well for you. Not long now til you're through the scary first trimester.

Hi Angela, wow travelling in Japan sounds just amazing. My brother has just got a new job in Tokyo so it looks like I'll be heading out there at some point, perhaps next summer. Where do you think you'll go? I've got two holidays to look forward to too and like you am glad to forget about ivf while I enjoy my summer. How are you coping with your sister's pregnancy?

Sophie, thanks for your positive words on getting a BFP after BFNs, it's just scary isn't it, but we've got to keep going for it.

Liberatriz, congrats on getting to the 2ww, I really hope this happens for you, what a journey you've had getting here!

Susan, so sorry about your pup, I really hope the behaviourist helps. She's a poor wee thing having been abandoned before so I hope with all my heart that you can work it out and keep her. I have a rescue dog too and we have always rescued dogs as a family, they're just so special and deserve a second (and sometimes a third and forth :( ) chance. How are you feeling about your upcoming FET? Hope you're doing better this week babe.

Well I'm fine, a bit chirpier than last week. I called the new clinic today and have made an appointment for next Monday so the ball is rolling for go number three. I really hope it's a more pleasant experience at the new place. I think I could probably start down regging in August but am going on holiday for the last two weeks of August so we're probably better waiting for September I think. Apart from that I'm really focusing on other things like our holidays, what I'm wearing to my friends wedding at the weekend, etc.

Hello girls!

How are you guys doing? I'm doing GREAT! I had a busy-busy long weekend, but it's my fault, really... I transformed my office at home into a lovely boudoir, it looks SO NICE! :) I had the idea to have a desk fit into the closet, so my computer and printer and all related stuff are still in the room and I can work there, but when I'm done? I just close the doors and voilà! Boudoir! :) Aaaaand now, after working hard to figure out the placing of all the furniture... I have to disorganize it again so I can fill the holes in the walls, put two coats of primer and then paint the room! :) My friend and my sister will help me do artwork on the walls so it really becomes MY room (it's the previous' owners color on the walls right now). So exciting!

Other than that, I,m fine. I called the clinic and I won't have my follow-up apt before August 8th! Ah, it's summer... and they all take 3-4 weeks off in a row, so... won't even be my doctor who'll do it; will be the one who did ER this time. I have no choice anyway; we want to attempt FET in August, so I have to have the follow-up before.

hrobinson, ltaylor, literatriz: you 2ww sisters! How are you doing? Test date is approaching... I know that for some of you the hopes are greatly challenged... but to me you're still PUPOs... hang in there sweet ladies, the wait is almost over. *HUGS*

Tanya: glad to know you're doing good! :) *smooch*

Jul1e: isn't it just nice to be talking about something else for a change? :) I know I make the switch quite fast... like hours after the blood test. ;) I don't like to dwell on sorrows unnecessarily. I'm glad you're making exciting plans. And thanks for sharing the document! WOW very complete. Every new (and veteran) IVFer should read it. You should make a general post with that link hunny.

arizonakiwi: that sounds like an exciting trip! Wow, Japan! My DH really wants to go there some day! :D LOL seems we share the same pains about desk! :) I'm glad you'll be out of there soon.... And about your next cycle, hunny... put things in perspective. You took a risk when you waited for blast stage. You know the fact that they don't survive does not solely depends on your embryos. Your third attempt must be considered as independent from the others. It's a new adventure each time. It's new chances to beat the stats each time, too. I understand, though, that thinking it's your last cycle makes it more stressful. But even if it is, you might still have FETs ahead of you if it doesn't work. Or you guys might change your mind after that cycle. One thing at a time my darling. *hugs*
And about my study, well... in a nutshell, I want to evaluate cancer patients all the way through their cancer experience, from their first biopsy (so before the diagnosis) to their remission/palliative care. I want to know what predicts anxiety and depression symptoms and when they occur and who needs psychological interventions. It's a complicated study because there are LOTS of measures to choose and it will require a lot of planning. But I'm hoping it's still doable.

Okay ladies, you take care! Lots of hugs!

Hi Ladies,

Sorry for being MIA. I was out of town in Florida at a business convention since last friday. I had no time to post, crazy. Anyway I see i missed a lot.

Just wanted to say to all the ladies in the 2ww, that are ready to test anyday now, just hang in there, the wait can be tough i know, but just be a little patient. And for all the new 2ww before you know it you will be testing too.

Sending hugs to my ladies who got the BFN, i would still wait for the blood test to confirm. As for cramping i had some before testing and still today.

As for me, doing ok tomorrow is my 1st u/s i am nervous and excited at the same time. I will keep you all posted.

Sophie, I know my numbers are high, but I think there should be only 2 babies since only transfer 2 embies. I can't imagine any more than 2 that would be too much for me . We will know for sure tomorrow.

More personl post later

Hugs
Tia
