hi all - I am hanging in there. Just found out that I even have to wait until thursday to take a shower - awwwwhhh.

read in my book that if the HCG trigger doesn't work the eggs are immature and are not released from the follicle and can't be retrieved by RE. The trigger cannot be repeated because it is too late and than the eggs are to0 mature. :-( They wrote timing is a very sensitve matter in that case.

I am really sorry that happened to you.

follicle question

Post by miyaya »

Hi ladies. I just my results back from my first follicle scan after 5 days stims with 225 iu gonal f and 5 units lupron. I was surprised I have not had more response on such a high dose but was curious to see what you girls experienced at first scan. My results were:

E2:345
LH .47
Progesteron: .9

Left: had 5 measurable follies between 10-11
Right had 2: 11 and 12

They told me to continue on 5 iu lupron and 225 gonal f and they will see me on friday.

Do these numbers seem low for 5 days stims to you ladies? Also, is there a chance I will develop more follies between now and Friday? I have no idea what to expect as this is my first time with IVF.

Ok Ladies...I'm back...and I'm finally PUPO! Yay! Shelby, you can officially move me to the 2ww with beta on Oct 5. My beta is supposed to be the 3rd, but its a saturday of course, so they bumped in to monday. But you all know the self proclaimed POAS queen will be starting her marathon of tests well before then!

The transfer went very smooth, not like last time when they had trouble with the speculum and the catheter. We could even see the 2 dots on the u/s screen after it was done. So when we showed up, they told us that of the 2 they thawed last night, only one made it, and then they thawed the other 2 this morning and only one was viable. So of my 4 frosties, we transferred 2 7/8 celled well graded hatched embies. I got my pics of them.

I am very nervous knowing that we have no embies left, but also kind of relieved. we were always a little concerned about this "batch," considering we had a failed fresh cycle from it. So I think we are giving ourselves the best possible chance in one transfer, rather than trying twice. I just really hope this works, because if it doesn't, we are not sure we can afford an out of pocket fresh cycle.

And everything worked out well with Ella. A friend of mine who lives a couple streets over offered to take her. I didn't want to ask her because she has twins that are only 3 days younger than ella, so she already has her hands full, but she didn't mind. She said it would be like having triplets for a few hours. And Ella did great and had fun playing, and now she is napping so I can rest.

Ok, off to rest, I will try and catch up with everyone soon, I just had to post and let you all know how today went.

Miyaya – My E2 level on day 6 of stims this cycle was 345, Progesterone-<0.2, and LH .8. So you are looking good from that aspect. I would say that you will have a few more by Friday. What happens is they get larger and right now they may just be too small to be seen around the bigger ones. On my u/s that day, I had 5 on my left side and 9 on my right. Two days later they measured 5 on my left again and 12 on my right. Two days after that I had 12 on left and 13 on my right. So see, you still have plenty of time. I was on Lupron 10 and Follistim 225 and I never had to adjust my dose the whole time I stimmed. You’re still in the game and will definitely be the MVP!

Michele – We must have been typng @ the same time! You were already there, Chickie! Congrats PUPO girlie!!!

Neffi – OH my! I’m so sorry, Dear! Glad you’re not quitting and will hang around with us for your cycle in Oct. Jack will have a playmate this next time!

Katie - LOL! You are so funny! You're going to have acid burns in your nose! Just don't drink anything when you are reading on here! But I guess blowing it out your nose is better than it coming out the other end  he..he..

I finally called the embryologist and the # of 5-6 she gave me yesterday was the amount she expects to still have tomorrow. As of right now we still have all 10! She said that some of the ones with the fragmentation have recovered (as she expected) and we are on track for transfer tomorrow.

Hi ladies. I hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there. Neffi... So sorry to hear.. I know you must be so sad. October is right around the corner.
I have my next beta on monday -- and the waiting is agony. I am searching for any sign ... are there any symptoms when an embryo embeds? I have nothing.
Also... I was speaking to another woman who had IVF successfully a year or so back. Anyway, she said her doctor graded her embryos. A, B, C etc... Mine didn't ... only said both looked very good. Should I be concerned? Should I call and ask if they had a grade?
What do you think?

Best wishes to alll....

hey ladies!

just wanted to say how sorry i am for lady j. this is hard enough to go through and to not have success makes it devastating. hang in there.

wolffie and malya- congrats! so happy for you two. can't wait to see you on the other board...

shelby- so excited that you're finally here! will keep reading about your progress.

michele- i am so thankful that you got all the way through it this time. congrats on being PUPO!

katie99- you hang in there, you're progressing nicely no matter what that idiot nurse thinks.

neffi- sounds like you're being very positive and optimistic. glad to hear that you're sticking around. will you try ICSI next time?

prayin- thinking of you and your mom. so glad things are getting better.

i'm thinking of you all and i'm keeping up with everyone's progress. i would not have gotten through the IVF journey without you. while i'm over on the may2010 babies board, i always come here first to check on everyone. take care.

Hello Ladies!!

At my SNS this morning, they saw 5-6 follies on one side and 6-7 on the other. I know that's not a ton, but it's more than we had at the start of our last cycle. I forgot to ask about the sizes. I was too excited about having more than just a few. I'll stay on the same meds, so we'll see how everything goes on Friday.

I'm jealous of those of you whose RE gives you pictures of your embies. I think that is just too cool.

rayofsunshine - It's a small world!!! I can't believe that we're at the same doctor. I'll send you an IM later tonight.

statsgoddess - WHEW-HEW for 3 embies. Grow embies grow!!!!

michele - SOOOOOOOOO glad everything went well with your transfer and a babysitter for Ella. You are PUPO!!!!

neffi - Oh Neffi, I'm so sorry. I'm glad you already have a plan for October. We'll pray for a sibling for Jack.

prayin - I'm so excited that you're able to stay with this cycle and that your Mom's surgery is over. Here's to good healing, and hopefully a calmer schedule for you.

katie - Wonderful on your good news. I'm dancing for ya!!! Man, soda out of your nose hurts! LOL

lisa - I'm doing the AF dance for you!!!!!

shelby - EXCELLENT fert. report. So glad you're going to have several embies to choose from.

bei - I am taking a lot of meds :-).
4x daily Medrol and tetracycline, 1xpm progesterone and every third day estradiol. Luckily the medrol and tetra are pills so I get one shot a day and two every third :-)

syanna- I was nervous as well for my first injection but they are not bad at all, my DH is doing them every night and I have not one bruise. The needles are so thin. Our RE offers/mandates injection classes to learn how to do them. no need to be nervous at all it soon becomes routine.

shelby - congrats to your fert report - that is killer :-)
lots of fun tomorrow and dont forget to buy ice cream :-)

Bei – I will be taking both. We have our betas on the same day!

Syanna – New. Lupron 9/23. The first injection is always the hardest, but it gets easier after that. Glad to have you join us!

Dearvijai - Good to have you! What meds were you on last time? From my experience, most clinics will try a different protocol if the previous one doesn’t work. Stinks, but there’s not one thing that works for everyone. I can tell you that several of these wonderful ladies do acupuncture and I have heard great things about it. Might be worth a shot. At least one of these ladies is pregnant after doing it!

Kiwi - oh yes.... cookies and cream for me!
