Hi everyone -

How are you all doing today? Hope everyone is surviving the heat - but why is it 94 degrees when its not even june yet? Eww sticky weather!
Well can I blame pregnancy brain yet? Good thing my OBs office called to confirm my appt for Thur - oooppss! I thought it was on Friday
Thats a new one - I'm usually super organized, oh well at least I didnt show up 24 hrs late! How embarassing that would have been!
So my DH finally brought it up himself last night how he would really like 2 children ( think he's looking for a son? ) I told him that no one wanted to hear twins more than me, but it just wasnt meant to be. So i'm so happy that we're on the same page, but he asked me Soooo many questions about embryo donation that I laughed and had to remind him thats a long time away - can we have this baby first? ha ha
And he's been talking to my belly since we found out its a girl - he was telling her how many places we will go ( zoo, aquarium, swimming, etc) and that she wont be dating til he says its ok - I was laughing so hard when i thought " yes, tell her now since once she learns to talk - she'll have her own opinions as well"
Sometimes my DH is a riot and he doesnt even know it!

Ronda - Hooray for feeling normal again and the end of m/s!! Whew that was a long time you were held hostage! So glad you're feeling better now
I hear you on some nurses not bothering to read the chart too - ugh if 1 more nurse or sono tech asks me my LMP I think I will scream! Plus the blank stare you get when you say "well it was ivf so the LMP doesnt really matter" Frustrating!

Helene - Ugh - the wait between the NT scan and the anatomy scan took forever! I think that was why I couldnt wait & had to book the anatomy for 18 wks - who ever said I was patient?

Hazel - So are you not going to find out Zorba's gender until the birth? Or are you going to have to do a private scan? Ugh yes, I've been wondering how bad the summer heat will be with a big belly too. It seems like the heat sneaks up on you worse when pregnant, doesnt it? its been unusually hot here the past week or so, and its so unpleasant. Aw honey I'm so sorry that the news on your Dad hasnt been optimistic so far. I'm sure that your father will be able to hold his grandchild though. I'm just sorry that this is happening at all, your parents really sound like such special people. - xoxo

Claudia - Yippeee so the cats out of the bag for everyone in your life now! yay! Aw your students sound too cute wanting to throw you a baby shower
I just wish that I looked pg instead of just fat -blah. But I thought I would show late with the retroverted uterus and wide hips - I'll get there soon I bet. Have so much fun maternity shopping. Wait til you get to go nursery shopping. It seems to be exciting but overwhelming for me - xoxo

Steph -How are you feeling mama? I'm glad that Andrew is acting more connected - but I wish he wouldnt get so set on asking "how are my sons"? I hope that you both get what you want, but I was totally convinced it was a boy too  Oooh I cant wait til your appt friday to find out too! How are you handling the strong TX heat? And yes, I sure am feeling the belly lately! Especially when walking too fast, turning over in bed and of course bending which I now do real
slooowwwwly. Glad you've found some relief with the belly belt, cause whatever the rest of us are feeling - you've got it twice as bad! Poor girl, take it easy

Karen - You too twin mama! Good luck at tomorrow's appt and i'll put your gender blinkies on our list as soon as you're sure. I hope that your HR OB can tell you definitely - but girl, how can you possibly keep quiet on such big news? I surely never could. My DH didnt want to know originally and then I asked him if he thought I could keep such a big secret - he laughed and said -ok so we'll find out - ha ha - Oooh, "little fatties" thats too adorable!

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo

Hi, Steph. My OB doesn't do that measurement of the belly. He measures various different parts of each baby and the sonogram machine/program calculates approximate weight. I decided not to post belly pics on the site. I'll email to you a pic though if you give me your email address. People I haven't told that I've run into went out are like "OMG, you're expecting"...so it must be obvious! hehehehe

Ronda – I am so very happy to hear that your m/s is almost over!! Yeah, I am so happy you will have your 3-D scan. June 17th is my 10 year anniversary … I will be happy to about your scan!

Hazel –Oh, I am so sorry about your dad. I didn’t realize the extent of the tumor thus far. You are correct when you said pancreatic cancer is generally aggressive. Usually liver cancer is also because both of them are in very vascular areas because of blood flow, which helps spreading of the tumor. But, you never know what news you will get. Sometimes, I have had patients that I have been pleasantly surprised of their outcomes despite their prognosis. I am praying for you …

Helene – I hope you are doing well and had a good day at work!

Claudia – I think that is so cute that your students want to be involved … it makes it exciting! Have fun shopping for maternity clothes!

Stephanie – I have a Motherhood store near me also. I still have the clothes that I bought last year when I was pregnant w/ Ashley from that store. But, I am going back so I can buy the pregnancy pillow so I can be comfortable while I am sleeping! I am glad you are feeling your babies move around in there … how exciting!!

Karen – Yes, pregnancy will make you slow down even when you don’t want to! A vacation sounds great! Where are you going for it? My DH and I were just talking about one last night. I told him I need some time off from work. It is becoming very overwhelming for me and going through the first trimester being scared to death! I told him we have to go somewhere we can drive because I am going to the bathroom every 1 ½ lately! Hawaii is out this year for us definitely!!! Too bad, but it will be there next year!

I am so glad the babies are doing well and measuring above average!

Katie – Ok, it sounds like your DH is planning for your next child just like my DH. When my DH said you can become pregnant again next year; I told him whoo … let’s have this kid first and then you tell me if you have enough patience for two small children. Or should we wait a few years before trying again … lol!

Gi – I love that your DH is so excited! It sounds like he is going to be one proud dad!

Natakia – I hope you are doing well! We haven’t heard from you lately …

Babyluv – I hope all is well with you and the babies!

AFM – This hot weather is killing me! It has been 85 degrees for the last 3 days at 8am, so you can only imagine by 5pm it feels like it is 90 degrees outside! Also, I had my first real bought of severe nausea last night along with a huge headache! I thought I was going to throw up for the first time, with all of my previous pregnancies; I never had severe morning sickness, just some nausea here and there. I am so glad that it was over today!

Angela - I saw this awesome purple shirt (favorite color) on display. I just hope it's still there when I go back. lol I also saw capri's which would be nice to have. These ones look like they adjust so I might be able to actually wear them without looking like high waters. It is so hard to shop when you're short! I'm 5ft nothing. Sorry about your bout of m/s. Glad it is over today. It's those annying little signs though that make us feel better in the first tri. lol

Karen - My ob doesn't measure different parts of the baby. First appt he measured from head to rump but that was it. I guess with my NT scan and now my follow up on Friday he doesn't want to take the time just to get the results soon? I am surprised your ob doesn't check fundal height. I thought every ob did that. Each one of my pg's I was checked every month and I had different clinics each time. :) I would say being pg with twins at this stage is obvious. lol People were looking at me and knowing for sure by the time I was 10 weeks.

Gi - That's so cute how Jason is so involved. Is he talking to the baby too? I bet that little one will be spoiled rotten! I use to say all the time to my DD that I have to through her in the garbage cause she is spoiled rotten. lol She had no problem admitting it too. :) Hw is belly feeling?

Karen - Another one huh? Why not! :) I am sure you can plan that one! Go for that boy! So adorable that he is talking to her! Andrew is sticking to that boy result a little too much. I keep telling him it was just for fun not to put too much into it, but he wants a boy so bad. lol He did mention before when he was admitting his fears that he really doesn't care as long as they are both healthy... but deep down at least one boy would make his day! The weather here has been icky hot. Blah! I haven't been outside much though. I can't stay too long out there without complaining. lol We have a BBQ coming up at the lake for DD bday so that will be interesting. As far as belly... everytime I get up too fast I think of you and your story about being at your appt and hopping off the table too fast. lol If I do get up too fast I find myself bent over walking like an old lady. I find bending over just smushes everything including my lungs and it becomes hard to breathe. No fun!

Stephanie – One thing that I forgot to add about the Motherhood store … all sales are final. They don’t have a return policy, so make sure you try everything on and are really sure that you want to purchase it. But, I think they told me that if the return is within the first 30 days, they will give you a store credit. They might have changed the rules but it wasn’t a problem for me; I just made sure I tried all of the clothes on and I really wanted to purchase them! Also, Lazarus had a good maternity section, if you have one close by you. Actually, the prices weren’t too bad since a lot of their clothes are a little on the expensive side. I can’t wait to hear about what you buy.

Hi Everyone! Just checking in to say hi.

Angela - We are all doing well over here, thanks for asking! So glad you had a good appt this week. I love seeing your ticker at 10 weeks!

Steph - DH and I keep talking about our kids as if they are b/g twins, so I know the feeling! Trying to come up with names in case they are the same gender (right now we are pretty set on Evan & Juliet, not sure about other names).

Katie - Be careful in the heat! I was pulling some weeds by our pool while the kids were swimming this afternoon, but it had cooled down a lot. I am over the heat and we are just getting started. July and August are going to be soooo hard!

Claudia - YAY for telling people! I told close friends before I even got my beta results, and the rest of the world after my first ultrasound, but that's because I can't keep my mouth shut!

Hazel - Praying for your family, friend. I am so sorry about everything you are all dealing with.

AFM - Not much new here. Still spotting, though it seems to be subsiding a little. Whoo hoo! Hoping it will be gone in the next week or two. Still loving being able to hear the heart beats every other day, and DD is ALWAYS asking to listen to the babies (and then listen to her OWN heart), talk to the babies, whatever. She's so darn cute I want to cry sometimes. Seriously...she is the most gorgeous, charismatic little girl I have ever met in my life. One of those that will be able to get boys to do her homework for her when she's older. We don't give into her, and I want to make sure she is a strong, independent woman, because she is going to be a total knockout. Not that I am biased or anything... DS is of course going to be a heart breaker as well, but it's just different with girls. I think it's the accessories :D

In other fun news, today is DH's birthday, my sister's birthday (they are one year apart), and one of my brothers just got engaged! This is his second marriage, and his fiance is actually closer in age with his daughter than with him, but she is awesome, his kids LOVE her (as do mine), and I am beyond thrilled. He told me as soon as he got the ring, so I knew it would be any time. I just hope the wedding isn't in the fall!! I really want to be there!

Angela - Oh dear you are starting to feel sick well this might be a baby girl then :) They say morning is more frequent with girls.

Babyluv - well you seam to be having fun with your kids playing with the droppler... amazing. I will have to start doing that with the kids too :) Good for you. And say HB to your dh and sister :)

How is everyone else doing?

AFM - Just finished working on the Montage no 2 (last one) and placing everyone in a different position but I am happy with it and now the pictures are ready to print ;)

We also got the money for the house yesterday we got $35,000 back after paying the mortgage so half of it will pay the visa nd the other the line of credit... and believe it or not we still have another credit card that has money on it but the interest is 1.9% so we are not worried. After that we will be just broke :) but NOT in deat (spelling?) anymore :) yahoo!!

So final photoshoot this weekend (to replace the walmart pictures) and then I am all done with my fun and exitement and can focus on the house :)

Enjoy the beautiful day ladies I hope you have a air conditionning home :)

Ok all crazy scary, not ure what happened. Last night, while going to the bathroom, I felt a pop and a gush of pinkish water came flying out. No cramps, I'm not in any pain and after calling my ob, I followed orders to ly down and drink lots of water. The flow stopped and now I just get a slightly pink tissue when I wipe. What the hell happend?! Did my water break? I'm going to call the office again this morning to make sure I can come in. Of course I bought a doppler two days ago on e-bay, wish it had come already. I still think I can feel the baby moving so I'm not totally insane but very worried. Any suggestions?

So scary!

Oh my! Sounds like amiotic fluid to me but it's way too early so not sure... you better check though cause at least if they know you might have lost some fluid they might put you on bedrest for the remainer of your pg. So try and stay laying down as much as you can... too bad we can't just put a plug ;) Sorry.

Malya – I agree with Helene … that sounds like amniotic fluid. I am sure that is why your OB told you lie down and drink plenty of fluids to replenish the amniotic fluid amount. I would definitely ask for a u/s so they can see how much amniotic fluid is still in there. This happened to me during my last pregnancy starting at week 15. My current high risk OB thought I started to leak amniotic fluid early in my pregnancy because my cervix began to shorten from the inside, which they can measure by a u/s. They might need to do that for you also and maybe a cerclage might be in order. Please keep us updated and tell us what your OB says.

Mayla - I am praying for you girl! Please keep us posted. I agree, sounds like amniotic fluid, but hopefully it's something minor that did nothing but cause a scare. The more you drink, the more you build up that fluid, so water water water!!!

Steph - good luck for tomorrow, can't wait to hear what you're having! Let's hope both babies are co-operating and in the right position straight away! Thank you so much for your kind words about Dad - you obviously know exactly how it feels given your own experience with your Mum. We are all obviously hoping for a miracle, but I guess that ultimately what will be will be. For the time being, until we know for certain what's going on, we're all trying to be as normal as possible. p.s. No-one has never counted or noted down the heartbeat for Zorba either, whoever I've seen (whether midwife or scan tech) has just checked that they can find one.

claudia - looking forward to seeing your latest baby bump pic! Have fun shopping on Saturday. To answer your question, I always thought that we would find out the sex at the earliest possible date, but when it came to having the anomaly scan at 20 weeks and we were told that the hospital wouldn't tell us (or even hint!) as a matter of policy, we both discovered that we weren't actually in a mad rush to find out.

karen - how was your OB app't today? Have a great holiday from tomorrow - where are you off to? Hahaha, how funny that you know the genders and your DH doesn't - I couldn't possibly keep that a secret if it were me!!

katie - so did you have a good OB app't today too? Sounds like you and DH are a bit like us, only halfway to the first one being born and aleady starting to think about what we might need to do for baby #2. Both DH and I have always wanted 2 or more kids - DH is one of two but again, like you, I'm an only child, and I always felt a little alone. We never really got to the bottom of why we weren't getting pregnant the 'usual' way, so a slightly unrealistic part of me is hoping that if we maybe TTC from about 6 months after Zorba arrives, you never know... You do hear amazing stories of women whose bodies are given a kick start by fertility treatments and getting pregnant through IVF and who go on to get pregnant naturally after that, but what percentage of us that applies to, who knows! We both really want more than one child, but another part of me isn't sure if I can go through another 4+ years of treatments and stress if that's what it takes.

gi - I'm so eager to see that bump of yours, please post a picture if you can! So still no news on your next app't, the public system drives you mad sometimes, doesn't it!

angela - thanks to you as well for your sweet words about Dad, let's hope we're one of the families who are pleasantly surprised. Oh honey, I'm sorry to read about your nausea, I remember how horrific it made me feel. Do you think it was triggered by you getting worn out in the heat? Hope it hasn't come back since...

babyluv - Evan & Juliet, what lovely names! Now you just need to have the b/g bit confirmed! Happy Birthday to DH...

malya - I'm so sorry to read about the fluid loss, thank goodness it has stopped since you started resting. I have no experience or proper knowledge to offer either way, but from what you describe it does sound like amniotic fluid. Please take care of yourself and let us know what your OB says. (((hugs)))

AFM, I've been in maternity jeans and trousers for ages now, but I finally gave in today while I was in town and bought a couple of maternity tops. It is starting to get a bit ridiculous trying to squeeze the beach ball into my normal tops, so I'm going to be head to toe maternity from here on in...

Catch you all soon,
