Chriss & Hopeful,
Cleaning lady is just till right after the babes arrive. I'll be home all day & no excuse then. She charges $20.00 an hour. She was at my house for 4.5 hours on Friday. I had her do all the sh-- work that I hate to do. I think she'll be able to clean my house in 2.5 every other week- if not... I'll find someone else. I live in a modest home & no need for that amount of time. There is a language barrier- she's Romanian. I write everything out & her son translates. I actually translated all my cleaning supplies for her off the internet- pretty cool.
Chriss, I'm reading the book that Jane Seymour wrote about having twins & she talks about how she had the "irritable" uteras as well. Loving her book.
Good luck at the dr's we'll pray for you at school tomorrow morning.
Hopeful, how's the nausea??? Any food diversions?
Summer, all ready? Love that 2nd hand stuff. soooo much cheaper & fun to shop for. I get sticker shock at the dept stores- I'm a thrifty shopper all the way around. Purchased most of the big items- just looking for a bassinet, a monitor & dying for some maternity clothes. I am busting at the seams. Me fatty. I dread the weigh in at the end of the month. Have not been working out the way I planned. Walking but need more & really need those weights for the upper body strength that I'm lacking.
Carolyn, How are you sweetie? Work kicking your but? How's the bump?
Ladies, good to see we all made it here. We have a lot to be thankful for.
Thanks again for all your support! Take care of yourselves & have a good Monday!

Hi Sabi,
Try H&M for maternity clothes. I've found some good basics there that weren't all that expensive - and some even off the sale racks. I've just bought as I've grown out of my regular stuff and when I couldn't stand wearing the same things week after week. I didn't go for a whole new wardrobe or anything like that. Funny, before I was pregnant, I never even knew H&M carried maternity, kids and baby clothes there!
And, I hate to say it, but if you think you are big now, just wait till the last weeks -- I really feel and look huge these days. You won't believe it till you experience it for yourself. My mother kept saying, you're gonna get bigger you know...Now I know what she was talking about! Even DH says "wow, what a big belly you have" -- thanks for that...LOL...But, on the other hand there is this little miracle growing inside and that is really amazing and wonderful to think about.
Think that was a great idea to get a cleaning lady. It will really help lessen your load and one less thing to think about...
Good luck with your appointment today, chriss! I also tried my best to answer your ticker question on the general forum....
Hopeful - it is a good feeling to know that your body is doing the right thing and that you don't need the extra dose of meds anymore. It is all a good sign.
Carolyn - how are you feeling these days? Hope all is well.
On a good note - did you see that Gigi just got a positive result on a home test that she took over the weekend? Great news for her.
have a great week,
xx summer

Sabi, thanks for the info we are looking into a cleaning person. Hope you are feeling well and trying to take it a little easy at work when you can. How are you feeling?
Hi Summer, Thanks for the help with the ticker!!! It worked!!! Have you checked out any books for when the baby comes? Looks like there are all kinds of books on feeding, napping, schedules, etc. Have you read any? Were any recommended to you? My friend suggested a book called "The Happiest Baby On The Block." Have you heard of it?
Hi everyone, hope you are well.
AFM... Have an appointment scheduled for Friday with a High-Risk OB. Got the referral yesterday while at regular OB. Want to be sure that we are doing all that we can do. I'm on Week #2 of modified bed rest. Have had a few visitors. It's hard to sit and watch the dust fall and not be able to get up to clean it. House is looking messy. DH does all that he can, but we need help. My parents came over yesterday and I put them to work... folding laundry, unloading dishwasher and bringing me lunch!!!
Hi chriss,
glad the ticker worked!!
My mother also sent me that book you mentioned, but I haven't started reading it. I also have the What to Expect First Year book -- So far, I've only been following along with the WTE when you are expecting book -- But, I think it is time to read ahead!
I've also had to learn to sit and watch the dust accumulate. I'm not the housekeeper I once was - I've slowed down a lot these last few weeks! DH does help a lot, I have to say.
I'm sure the modified bed rest isn't easy, but it is for a good cause! Time to do some good reading and get some knitting going!
Good luck with your appt. on Friday. Hope you like the new doctor.
Take care everyone,
xx summer

Chriss - Good luck with your new doctor. I originally wanted a high risk doctor, as I thought they'd take better care of us, but considering my doctor said he wanted to see me every two weeks, I'm happy staying with him. I'm sure the modified bed rest isn't fun, sorry, but hey you can read up on what to expect in the coming weeks and years!
Summer - Thanks for your words of encouragements, I'm enjoying the no meds. You are getting so close, all the appointments made. I'm so excited for you!
Sabi - I've been really lucky, no sickness or food aversions. Things might not sound good, but nothing bad.
Speaking of food, DH has dinner almost ready! Take care of yourselves!
Hopeful - your post made me smile-- you sounded so excited to go and have your dinner -- I know, besides always thinking about the health and well-being of our babies, we are also always thinking about eating, especially a meal we didn't have to prepare ourselves!....
Nice that DH cooks dinner as well!! I am sure it was delicious! xx summer

Carolyn, you sound well! Can't believe you are working so many hours/week! Great that your MIL is there and is helping out! Aren't you considered high risk, which would put you in line for more appts? I do sincerely hope you are spared the problems of high blood pressure and/or gestations diabetes!! It does give you more scans, but also a lot of worry.
I just talked to a midwife today who will come to the house for a number of visits after the baby arrives. It is all part of what is covered by our insurance here.
I do have a strong nesting instinct at the moment, but the energy really fails me these days to get everything, or rather, anything done! I always have great plans in the morning and am happy to cross anything off the list! Instead it works better when DH and I tackle projects together. We hope to have everything done by the time my mom comes on the 10th. I really suggest to get as much as possible done during the 2nd trimester and the beginning of the 3rd, when your energy is at its highest!!
We did decide on names this past weekend, but will really have to wait and see who we are meeting to make a final choice --
How about you? You really have to think about so many different combinations!
The nipple sensitivity is just one of those things -- I haven't found a solution...wish I could give you a good suggestion!
Take good care and hope that chriss, sabi and hopeful and anyone else reading are all doing well.
xx summer

Great to hear from you Carolyn. I did/do have sore nipples. It was worse a few weeks ago and seems to have settled down a bit. I think as your pregnancy progresses, they will want to see you more. Even before all this contraction business, they were planning to up my visits the further along I get.
Hi Summer, Sounds like you have a few name ideas. I think it's smart to keep it to yourselves until you meet your little one. Do you suspect that you are carrying a boy or girl? I think it's too hard to tell, but some people say they know. I thought for sure I was having a boy and a girl and it's two boys:)
Carolyn, it does seem as though the modified bed-rest is calming things down a bit. I do understand however that some of the contractions can't even be felt. They told me this when I was hooked up to a monitor. But as far as the really uncomfortable ones... they seem to be lessening. I feel better about this.
Got some very good news today... my new Doc (High-Risk who I will be seeing tomorrow for the first time) is now accepting my insurance!!! DH and I are so relieved. I was getting nervous anticipating all of the tests, etc. that we would have to pay for!!!
You are all in my thoughts. I am so gad that we can travel through this journey together. Well, back to some serious television watching.
XOXO
chriss - great news about your insurance covering your high risk doctor! That will keep a little more money in the bank for when the time comes. Really happy to hear the bigger contractions seem to have quieted down and you can really concentrate on that tv watching...lol....Hope the bedrest isn't going to drive you too crazy and is only temporary..
As to what we are having, a lot of people are guessing it is a girl - but still some hold out for a boy...only time will tell. I've been thinking girl the whole time, but also think a boy would be great.. DH started out thinking boy, but has now switched to the girl camp. He really doesn't care, he just can't wait to hold his baby in his arms...He talks about it all the time, it is so nice to hear....
As for names, we decided just to keep it to ourselves, as we really want it to be our choice and once we start talking about it, then people start giving their opinions...Our ob/gyn has even suggested names to us! The names themselves we have chosen are not unusual, but have special meaning to us.
To carolyn, sabi and hopeful - hope you are all well!
Have a nice weekend everyone!

just a quick message, I'm exhausted. Went to high-risk OB. Didn't hear anything different than what my OB has said. Just have to take it one day at a time and keep these babies inside as long as possible.
Glad to see all of you cool mommas on this thread! Well morning sickness has officially hit! Not liking it but know it's worth it in the end.
Summer: Can't believe you are so close now. Exciting for you. Are you nursing? If so, did you get a pump as well? Fun Fun! Good idea about the name thing...every time I decided to hint names to folks, they slammed me for the name. I mean tore it up so I never used it for my kiddies. Some people are very offensive and it's not worth it for you to go through.
Chriss: Bedrest for you already? I missed all this. How far are you? How are you doing?
Talk to the rest of you soon. Crying child in room.

Yes, bed rest for me... modified bed-rest. Started having tons of contractions way too early. Not unheard of when carrying twins. Feeling better now that I've slowed down. How's the nausea? It's a good thing... YOU ARE PREGNANT!!! YEAH!!!
