Dogzrule - i agree with Kayce. it isn't bad at all. u are out with the anasthesia and then they give u pain meds if u need them which usually u won't and u get to rest and be pampered on for the rest of the day! Good luck tomorrow!

AFM I just got a call from RE and they said that 3 of the 4 eggs fertilized!! They didn't tell me how they looked, but they said that I'll have a 3dt which is totally new for me. I never make it that far, I always have 2dt!!! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed...

Hey girls! iM new here. Im 23 and dh is 25 and we are currently in the middle of our first ivf cycle. I am on Lupron and starting my gonal f tonight! i had an ultrasound today and they siad i have 16 follies. Is that good? if i start my stims today when should I pland on having my retrieval?

Welcome tiffy! I'm pretty new here too, so happy to have you! This is my 1st cycle as well, and our whole process began June 9 when AF came. We had a set back of one week on the lupron because my estrogen spiked on it instead of going down, but my doctor doubled the dose for an extra week and that did the trick. We are set to do the ER next week, not sure exactly when. We'll know more tomorrow when I go in for my 2nd sono to see how my follies are coming along. I have 18 follies from the stims and have been told that's great, so your 16 sounds great too!

Hey everyone, I need to be quick, I am leaving tomorrow for my brother's wedding this weekend and I have nothing even packed yet!

tiff- welcome. Are 16 follies before you start stimming? If you start stims today, retrieval will most likely be in 10-14 days, it is different for everyone.

kayce- yay for 3 embies! Good luck at ET.

gi- I am so sorry to hear about your MC. I do hope this works for you this time, and we will all be here to support you through it.

teachertam- I have seen you around the boards, but have never gotten a chance to talk with you, so I am glad you joined. I probably notice your name because I am a teacher and I assume you are one too. I do hope this works for you this time.

afm- I went to RE today, scan was fine, estrogen was low and I start bcp's again tonight. Probably bcp's for a couple weeks, and then maybe lupron again? They will call me next week with a protocol and dates I am sure.

For now, I am off to pack, 8 hour drive tomorrow, wedding on saturday. I will be relived when it is over. I am taking my laptop, hotel has internet access, so I will try and read thursday and friday so I don't fall too far behind, but I will have to catch up on monday or tuesday. I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Just got a phone call from the doctor's office. My hCG still hasn't dropped to zero. The coordinator is going to talk to the Dr. , but I may not be starting until September. Will let you know when I find out.

Michele - I started stims July 2, and my egg retrieval is sometime the first half of next week, but I'll know more tomorrow when I go in for my next stims sonogram.

KayCe - Congratulations on your 3 embies! I am sure they are perfect. I total understand what you mean with the 3dt, I to had a 2dt but that was because I only had 2 embies. I am sure that is a good sign. Good luck and sticky dust to you.

hi everyone -
I hope that you all are having a good day. Mine was frustrating because RE has me on BCPs that only one pharmacy around here carries, so when it takes 45 minutes to pick up 1 pack of pills, I dont get the choice of just going somewhere else. Oh well. The funny part is that i'm done with bcp in 2 weeks so I only need 4 pills from that pack anyway

kayce - Congrats on 3 fert!!! Sending you loads of sticky embie dust!!!

dogzrule - I've only had ER once so far - there was no pain after just some mild cramping - no big deal - dont stress it

tammy - are you doing iui? i didnt recognize any of your meds

CT_Michelle: Thanks. Yes, I teach part time at a local university, as I have a 2 year old at home that keeps me busy. How old is your little one?

Katie99: Yes, I am doing IUI this time. Gonal-f is a gonatrophin injectible drug and femara is a pill similar to clomid. I have had two fresh cycle IVF's, as well as a frozen cycle. After my second failed IVF, I got pregnant naturally after having an HSG x-ray procedure.

Dogzrule: Don't worry. During both of my IVF ER I actually woke up feeling great! I don't know what it was but I felt very relaxed and kind of had a "warm fuzzy feeling". Eighteen follies is great!!!

Kayce: Congrats on your embies.

tammy- Ella is just over 10 months old. I am an elementary school teacher, but I took this year off because I was due in early september. I have really liked being home with her and I am not planning on going back next year either, as I hope to be pregnant. I am tutoring at the school I worked for last year though, ridiculously good pay for very easy work just a few hours a week. I can't complain. I private tutor in my home town too. I might stick with tutoring for a while, I should finish my master's in elementary ed next semester, and I just finished my cross endorsement for middle school math, I just have to take the test and apply for certification. I would love to teach at a university someday.

katie- crazy that you are on a special bcp, what is special about it? I didn't think it mattered what one you are on. That stinks you have to drive that far for bcp's.

anissabug- thanks for the kind words, and welcome to our thread. If you give me your info I will add you to the list.

Shellybyrne214 sorry to hear of your mc i understand what you are going thro. hopefully your hcg level will drop soon. In Ireland they dont ck things like that after my d&c there was no follow up care and they dont ck hcg levels but i kept poas until i got a negative which was 4 wks after d&c.

tiffywall86- 16 follies is a great number!! Lets hope there are lots of juicy eggs in them xx

CT_Michelle hopefully there wont be anymore delays for you and you get cracking shortly. I am hopefully getting transfer around 18th Aug. my clinic does things bit differently i just have to take prognova for 12 days when AF arrives to thicken lining then get a transfer - hopefully they will survive the thaw i am nervous about that cause last sept. none of our embryos survived till blastocyst and we had nothing to transfer and its heartbreaking. Enjoy the wedding sounds like a long journey!!

AFM i went it today and they said that i had 7 on the left and 5 on the right all about the normal size and that it is too early yet but going back in again on saturday so hopefully i should get some better answers then. ah well 12 isn't bad. usually the number that i get.
