Hi all,

I was home sick with a stomache bug for the past few days but am back at work this AM.

statsgoddess- Isn't it funny how now you WANT AF to come. I am on day 9 of BCP's and can't wait to get AF and move forward.

I kind of feel like our Clinic just leaves us in the dark. Everone seems to have had orientation and classes on the meds etc. We were lucky enough to get all of our meds donated from our clinic but we are clueless as to everything!

Welcome to all the new people, this is a great group of girls!

Can I join? After 8 pages already, I really feel like a late comer!

My clinic had a cancellation and if I get my meds in time, this will be my first IVF. I'm 38, no kids. DH is 39 today. He had a vasectomy too long ago to consider a reversal.

I'm really worried about how all the drugs are going to affect me. I'm one of these crazy "all-natural" nut jobs. However, there was no hesitation for me when faced with a pile of drugs or no baby. Gimme the drugs!

I hope September is a good month for all of us. :D

Hi Sangria,

I feel the exact same way about the drugs. This will be our 1st IVF and I don't know what to expect with all the drugs. I have boxes and boxes in my closet and it is pretty scary looking at it all. I keep thinking about "my poor DH" and hopefully I won't be to crazy on the meds

Welcome and Good luck!!

Welcome Sangria, and hi Jen; glad you feel better from the flu. All week I have been feeling so nauseaus too!!! I guess they are side effects from the BCPs.

It is scary when u r foing IVF for the first time and u get your box of meds and  Holy Cow... all those needles; long thick needles... yikes!!! After a few days u will be a pro and you'll feel like a Junkie!!! LOL  I dont know what protocol u ladies r on, but the first IVF I did the Lupron on my front thighs and the Follistim I would rotate thighs... when they added Heparin, I did those on my stomach.... and the POI and Estrogen had to go on the muscular butt area... I actually did those myself also. I used the 22g needles, I had my RE draw a circle around the area and everyday I had my DH draw over the area so it woudlnt fade with my showers... I would rub ice for about 15 seconds and stand in front of the mirror and Wala!!! poke my butt. The small needsles are not bad at all, the long ones in the butt, I had to put ice on it cuz i tried with no ice ones and found that it does hurt a little more. Good Luck ladies. I also got my meds for the FET... and although it is not as much as the fresh cycles, I still have the worse shots to inject... the heparin in my stomach, the Estro and POI... :( Oh well, we'll get thru this together.

Godess..... Happened to me during my 2 cycles... my AF was about 1-2 weeks late, I even thought and hoped I was PG so i took PG test... RE said it is because of the added stress waiting for it to come. I am still going to do the AF dance for you... hope u get it this weekend.

Neffi... COngrats on your DS.... I hope this cycle brings u a DD/DS again. Sorry about your MC.... ANd welcome to the board.

Neffi- I don;t really have a schedule yet either and may be closer to october. I didn't ask for my new projected date this time because then I get my hopes up only to be devastated when I get delayed. Since my BFN in April/May, I have been trying to get ready for my first FET and unfortunately, I do not seem to be supressing on lupron. My first try should have been june, which got delayed until July because of high estrogen levels and ultimately cancelled due to a cyst. So we stopped everything and I started all over with bcp's and lupron again, trying for an august transfer, and when I just went for supression check this past week, E2 was too high again. This time though instead of stopping everything, RE doubled the lupron dose and said I will stay on it until I am supressed, so I am having weekly u/s and bw until it works. Once my levels are good, I am sure they will give me a date. My next check is tuesday.

I just wanted to pop in and say hi to CT_Michelle and Neffi. Through my 3 previous IVFs and FET earlier this year, I seem to have been cycling with each of you through our DS/DD's conception and birth.

Here we go again! Have you each started experiencing the EXACT same feelings as prior cycles? Funny how it feels like the first cycle, each time.

I hope we all are blessed this round (ALL the ladies here!)

Happy Sunday!

CT Michele-- Yeah we don't have a schedule yet either. I expect AF tuesday or Wed so I will talk to RE then. I am hoping to start stimms mid sept for a October ER.

Cheryl-- Congrats on your son! My son also came early (4weeks) I have already done 2 cycles since his birth so I am used to this....it doesn't seem to get any easier though!

Well I hope we all have good luck this time around!

Neffi- I hope to be a little sooner than you, but we will see. With all my delays, I never know what to expect. Can you believe I took a facebook quiz a couple of months ago that said I would get pregnant in Dec. 2009, I was like, no way...it's gonna be earlier than that! And now I am starting to wonder if there was any truth in the quiz...

cheryl- so good to hear from you again and congrats on your DS. Here's to success for all of us this time!

lady j- sorry you have been a bit tummy sick lately, hopefully that goes away soon.

sangria- and jen- welcome and try not too worry too much. I remember my first ivf, and I was terrified, but after spending time with all ofthese wonderful ladies, I quickly became a pro, and now people like me are here to help the newcomers. Ask all your questions and we will try and help the best we can.

Nothing new for me...I have been busy with my dd, she is cutting her first tooth and is super cranky lately, her eating and sleeping schedule is all off. I have been spending lots of time planning her first b-day party too...it is only 2 weeks away now! I go for my first supression check since we doubled my lupron, I don't expect to be supressed, but I guess I can hope. i will let you all know how it goes on tuesday.

Hi ladies!

Welcome Sangria!

I hope everyone is doing well! My lupron arrived on Friday. I looked and it's from the same lot that my last batch was from my canceled cycle. I have read some speculation that there may be a weak batch of lupron out there. I really hope that isn't the case. I am so paranoid about it that I called the nurse at my RE's office to ask what she thought about the weak batch speculation. She said that they haven't seen an increase in cycle cancellations so she's doesn't think there is anything to the speculation. I hope she is right!

Michele - so will you just stay on lupron now until your body seems supressed? Any idea how long it could possibly take? Any ideas on why your body isn't cooperating. Did you have troubles with your successful cycle?

Lady J - how in the world did you do the PIO shots yourself?!?! I was able to give myself the other ones but I just couldn't do that. I was afraid I would scre it up without really being able to see. Although, I guess I can see back there. Mad props to you and all the ladies who can do that!

Jen - hope you're feeling better!

statsgoddess - still doing the AF dance for you!!!

wolfie- the plan is to stay on the lupron until I am supressed. When we tried for the FET in June/july, I stayed on it and then a cyst sent my estrogen through the roof, so we stopped, I took provera to rbing on af and then started all over again, with bcp's then overlapping lupron. And again, I am not supressing, my estrogen is too high. We have doubled my dose, and RE says we will not cancel and start all over, just wait until I supress. He says it could take weeks, so maybe 2-6 weeks is my guess.

I have never taken lupron before trying to do an FET. My fresh cycles did not use lupron, just right into stims, so I have never had this problem before. I was starting to wonder about a possible bad batch of lupron roo, but I think my body is just not responding to it. Hopefully either the double dose, or the prolonged period of time will do the trick.

All - The dancing finally helped! AF finally arrived this morning! (Okay, so I am not so enthused about the cramps that also arrived, but I'm thrilled to be on cycle day one!) I have to call my clinic today to let them know I am ready to get on the schedule. Hopefully they will mail something out to me soon.

WooHoo!!!! Statsgoddess... Hooray for AF!!! Glad all the dancing worked. Now you can start your meds. Good Luck hun!!! Hope your body responds well. Let the fun begin.

Wolffie... Yep, beleive it or not. I practiced with a needle-less syrnge. I had to make sure I was able to. SInce my DH works nights and I had to inject at night, I found it hard to ask my 10 yr old DD to do it for me.. for sure I would win the "Bad Mom Award' or my other option was to drive to mmoms house about 15 miles away everynight... which was also a no-no. So I had no choice kind of. But it worked out. Just had to make sure I had my contacts on so I could see in the mirror clearly... .

AFM... nothing new... just bad AF cramps, but it shoudnt be showing up for at least another week or two. Hmmmm... I hope my hormones arent jacked up again. Cuz I did get it too early last time (2 weeks apart) and since I have PCOS its normal. but not normal in the IVF world. So ladies, is there a AF dance so that it could stay away for another week or so???

Hey girls, I was away for a couple of days on a mini vacation. Orientation went well, dh got very excited after that. I got af today and schedule my appointment for blood and sono for Wednesday. I'm so excited.
Stats-are you taking any medication yet? bcp?
Woffie- when do you start the lupron?
Jen- the orientation is very basic, nothing new for me. I been doing a lot of reading so I can understand everything better. You gonna be ok if you do a little research on your own. do they teach you how ti give the shots? That's what has me a little nervous.

My af is 2 weeks early, has anyone had a problem because of this before? I don't usually get my period on my own. I took provera last cycle and got af, I was on cd 18 and got af again.

Oh wow! Feel like I've been gone forever!
WELCOME Rose and Sangria(I love your name 8) )! Any questions you have, let 'er rip! This is a great group of ladies and full of knowledge.

Jaydentd & Stats - Congrats on AF (until I joined this board, I'd never heard of being congratulated for getting AF. LOL! ) Time to move on and get the ball rolling!

JenNJ
- Sorry to hear about your clinic leaving you in the dark. Surely to goodness they will get more detailed as the cycle progresses. That's awesome about the meds! They'll break the bank!

Miyaya - how did your surgery go? Wishing you the best!

Mjay - tell us about your u/s and b/w. I know it went great!

Neffi - we will dance for you. Hopefully she will show up very soon.

Wolffie - Only 2 more days and LUPRON!!!! That's a big step for me. It just seems like it is that much closer when i start the shots. Bring it on!!!

To everyone else: Hope to hear from you soon with wonderful updates!

AFM - Company this weekend was great. He is an amateur photographer and loves trains. So we spent most of the day Friday "chasing" trains. He got some good pics so I think that made him happy. Kids started school on Friday and they seemed to like it. It's a new school for the 12 year old (we just got custody of him) and he said his day was great!!!! I was so glad. DH and I just got back from a work day trip and we are tired! Lots of driving starting early this morning. So glad to be home. AF has come and gone and my meds should have been ordered today. I will start on 8/16. I am going to update the list, so if anyone has anything else they want on there or I miss something, please set me straight. Hope everyone's weekend was marvelous and LET'S GO MAKE SOME BABIES!!! :D :D
