So, this morning I went for my first u/s at 5 weeks 6 days and we saw the gestational sac, yolk sac, and the heartbeat at 101. We are happy to see this and I go back again in 2 weeks for my second u/s. Also, there is 1 baby and not 2 which is fine with us! :)

Wishing you all luck.

Also, I ate deli meat with my 1st pregnancy and have even eaten some with this pregnancy but maybe I should stop. Any thoughts on this??? This makes it difficult for lunches...no tuna, no lunch meat. How much salad and soup can we eat???

Sonya - I was so heartbroken to see your post. I know how long you had to wait for the u/s and then to get this news. I am so sorry - I know that very few words can help right now.

Did they give you any indication of what could have caused it and/or what next steps might be?

DandMe - Everyone is right, there are no words. I just hope you are holding up ok.

ktelise - Great news for you! I am glad you were able to catch the heartbeat so early!

AFM - I got the call from my PCM and the labs were never done. The lab batched my test for tomorrow. I hate this hospital. I wish I could go somewhere else but when you live on post you have to go to the post hospital. I could go somewhere else, but I would have to pay out of network without a referal. I know it's only a day, but I was so looking forward to hearing my test results. Oh well, all we do is wait, what's one more day right?

DandMe: I'm so sorry. I logged on tonight to check on you. I haven't posted a ton, but I've been following you. I'm really sorry. There's nothing else to say.

Ashley: I'm a second time mom too, and I've been a little more relaxed about things this time around too. I towed the line EXACTLY with my son, and here I am pregnant again and not being as strict. By no means am I harming my fetus, but first time moms tend to be a bit more strict. :D Anyhow, my input on the lunch meat thing...my OB said that you should stay away from lunch meat and hot dogs as a rule of thumb, but if you indulge once and awhile, it will not hurt you! I go to the "World Class Mayo Clinic," so I kind of trust the doctors there! (And I'm being semi-sarcastic when I say "World Class Mayo Clinic!" That's a joke in Rochester!) Don't let your guilt get away with you!

Hazel: How's the m/s coming along? I am so sympathetic to those who have awful m/s. My first pregnancy was HELL! I swore I would never get pregnant again....and here I am! (In fact, after I had my son safely in my arms, I said, alright...now we can adopt a little girl! But somehow I couldn't leave my embies!)

Katie99: I do remember you from last summer's cycle! I'm thrilled you're pregnant. Your story has been so inspiring! If there's a better story, I don't know one!!! Congrats! Hopefully you start feeling better soon!

Ktelise: Anxious to hear about your u/s. Will your gut be correct? I had a strong gut feeling I only had one, and I did! THANKFULLY! We had transferred THREE!!!

Stephanie: Your story about parking illegally cracked me up! Watch out for the pregnant lady!!!!

To everyone else: I hope things are going smoothly for you!

AFM, I had my first "nurse visit" today after being released from IF. It was two hours long for Pete's sake. They run through your history and do some "quick" early pregnancy education. Since this is my second pregnancy, it all seemed a bit redundant. I was hoping to go the midwife route this time, but I was already kicked out!! I am on Heparin (from the FET--no real problem--experimental since it was my last try), so that immediately made me "high risk" and not compatible with the midwives. :? I also had preeclampsia with my son, so that made me high risk too. There's no real proof that I'll get it again, but there's a possibility. All and all, I wasn't that surprised. I've always tended to be a high maintenance patient! So, I see my OB next week. They will do another quick u/s and I'm excited about that!

I'm doing really well. Feeling really good. Like I've mentioned before, I had a horrific pregnancy with my son starting with OHSS that hospitalized me for 8 days to debilitating vomiting throughout my whole pregnancy, ending with bedrest in the hospital due to preeclampsia! So, I'm in awe....so thrilled that I'm feeling well!!! I'm 9 wk, 1 day! Life's good!

Hope you're all doing well.

Ashley - I did eat some turkey during my first pregnancy - but not much... fortunately (or not so fortunately) I had a severe aversion to meat - and turkey was tolerated only occasionally - but definitely NO CHICKEN! Funny thing, my son loves fruits and nearly all veggies and beans & grains, but isn't a huge fan of meat either! ;) funny how that works sometimes. Anyway... I have been feeling guilty too because i've been craving greek salad - and have not been omitting the feta - which is also risky for listeria... :( I have had it only 2-3 times (beginning in the 2ww) but I think I need to avoid it from now on too. I'm sure that our babies will be fine, but better safe than sorry, i guess.

ktelise - congrats on the heartbeat at U/S!!! That's great news. Image

steph - (hope it's ok if i call u steph ;) ) - sorry they didn't get your labs in!! what r they thinking?! well, at least it should be only 1 day... but still! we have to wait enough with all this stuff... and one more day is not fun! well, we'll be waiting here for u tomorrow :)

Sarah - you poor thing. what an awful pregnancy experience with your DS! :( SO glad you're feeling well now and hope that it continues!! I didn't have anything nearly as serious as yours, but i did have what seems like more severe M/S with my DS than I'm having now. I have nausea, but I haven't vomitted - it was a daily routine in the first 5 months with DS... maybe this means we're having girls... ? ! ? ! ;) My DH says he only makes boys.. so i guess we'll just have to see! (i have 3 DSSs and 1 DS - so right now, it's 5 males and me! - i would love another boy, seriously, but i could definitely use a little more estrogen around here!)

Sonya - still thinking of you... any chance they could be wrong? Just hoping. I was curious after reading your posts and did some searching on hcg levels and blighted ovums... i knew you had been concerned about yours from the start... and came across a story of "not so blighted ovum" - Drs wanted her to do a D&C but she refused due to fear of them, and they finally found baby after 9 weeks... I'm sure that doesn't happen much, but... We're here for you, whatever you decide to do... (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))

Hope - You can call me anything you like. lol Steph is just fine... most people call me that. As far as the labs, I will tell you what is wrong, they SUCK! Nothing but horror stories and mistakes coming from that place. Especially when it comes to pregnancies. I am scared to death to go there for my pregnancy and birth! One of my friends had placenta previa and was told she was going to hemorrhage and she and the baby could die. She freaked out and went into premature labor. Another girl I know was having a miscarriage and bleeding. She was made to stay in the waiting room bleeding all over the place while a guy with a broken leg who was still going outside to have a smoke went back before she did. When she finally did get a room, they left her still bleeding all over the place, she changed her own bed sheets. This is just a couple bad stories. So I will beg to be referred out, hoping that they will find some reason to consider me high risk even if it's just the fact that it is a FET pregnancy and delicate because of that. Oh... we'll see. Enough venting. lol

Sarah - Yeah I was no one to mess with after that one soldier pulled that crap. lol There weren't even any handicap places open. They have special parking for mothers to be, none of them were open either. I am just happy I didn't get a ticket. That was the highlight of my day.

I can't believe how hard it is to see all the still pregnant posts. I don't know if I'll be able to do this much. I've been the 'cheerleader' for two and a half years. I have four nieces who are all pregnant.

There was nothing there. Not even a hint, and a doctor came in to look at the screen and said there was nothing there. If I didn't know the exact date of conception I might have a chance, but at nearly 8 weeks, there should have been a fetal pole, yolk sac, etc.

I don't know what will happen here. Will I miscarry naturally or get a D&C. I want it out of me now.. feel so betrayed.

Sonya- Please take the time to feel sad, pissed, etc. We all are sending you prayers and understand you not wanting to follow this thread anymore. I certainly wouldn't either. Please know all will work out for you. It really will. One day at a time. Big hug.

Sonya,

I have been in your position and I am so sorry this is happening to you. You have the right to take the time you need and don't let anyone tell you to move on before you feel ready. This is something that many people have not gone through and cannot understand at all. No one knows how you feel except for you. Take care of yourself.

Hi everyone -

How are you all doing today? I am having a normal day! yippee for that - the last week or so has been nothing but nausea, exhaustion, heartburn and wow do my boobs hurt! so this morning I felt great and so far so good. I guess that these symptoms are worse on some days more than others? I'm sorry that I havent been over here as much as I would like to, I'm still on the ivf thread and its hard to keep up sometimes, but I started this thread so we wouldnt all be separated by a specific month and lose out on our cycle buddies, so bear with me a for a little bit longer - I'm eagerly awaiting some new BFPs! And I'm hoping that they will join us all over here

Hazel How are you doing my dear friend? I hope that your m/s hasnt tried to take over your life again. How is the poor pup doing? I hope her infection is clearing up nicely - miss you :D

Ashley How are you feeling, honey? I hadnt heard anything about not eating deli meats - but then again I havent had my first OB appt yet either! Thanks for that info!

Stephanie UGH - I felt the frustration in your post yesterday! You just gotta love a rude, parking space stealing soldier when you're runnung late! Oh, how much fun was that? I'm glad that you got your beta done - now if they will only hurry up and tell you (and us!) the results - When i was an Army wife a long time ago - my ex DH used to joke that its all about hurry up and wait! I see things havent changed too much - hee hee. Prayers and thanks to your DH for keeping us all safe! I know its the whole family that pays the price of deployments as well. And you pay no mind to nosy neighbors with nothing else better to do than to gossip all day - for the love of! How are you feeling?

KTeliseCONGRATULATIONS on seeing the heart beat! What a wonderful sight it is! I hope that you'll be able to relax a bit more now. My nervousness dropped off a lot after the seeing the HB - Of course now I cant wait to hear it...

Sarah thanks hon! I'm so glad to hear that so far this pg is treating you so much nicer than you're last one! Heres to that continuing throughout your whole pregnancy!

Hope I'm crossed that you get your little girl! 5 males in the house? oh, you poor outnumbered thing! Whew! thats a lot of testosterone & sneakers everywhere! How are you feeling? You must be extra wiped out from taking care of your DS

Karen HOORAY for 2 heartbeats! MOM times two! Did you get released from your RE yet?

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo
