Ryann - You definitely have to get less shy! I know it's easy to feel kind of passive when you don't know exactly what's going on with this crazy process. Agreed - you have to be your own advocate. Never, EVER feel "stupid" for asking a question. If a nurse or somebody tries to make you feel like you are being overbearing or whatever for calling to much or asking too many questions, that's their problem not yours. Anyway, I also stimmed really fast my first time around and had to go in every day. I got close to OHSS, though at the time I didn't know what was going on. It was only a 6-day stim! Sounds like they are monitoring you closely and taking the appropriate steps to get your levels to the right place.

tiger04 - Congrats on PUPO!! Fingers crossed for your beta. What are your thoughts on POAS? I kept saying I wouldn't and always did, so this time around I'm just going to admit to myself that I'm going to and embrace my neuroses...

turtle0619 - To post pics, below the posting box there is a tab "Upload attachment" that you can use to add a pic, it just has to be a pretty small file. I wanna see your dingo baby!! :) Your AF must have been off partying with mine for those TWO WEEKS that it was late! :x

riogirl71 - Thanks for the insight into trying for #2. Sorry to hear about your pup, too. I actually didn't rest too much after my last ET anyway, I was going too nuts to just lie around!! The only real pressure I have is to produce a girl for my poor MIL, who is girly and loves pink but had 3 boys... Not just for her, but us too. She does enough for Sean but I think if I had a girl we literally wouldn't have to buy her anything because my in-laws would just absolutely freak out!!

Lauren1171 - That's cool you get another fresh cycle! I know exactly how you feel about having to wait, that's where I am right now - since my AF was late I have to wait until October, too. But that's still the fall!! And it sounds like by waiting you will be giving yourself a better chance at success which is what really matters.

Wondercat -- OMG... Sean is ADORABLE! You are soooo lucky!

Ryan -- If your dose was lowered, then you are responding well... maybe too well! lol Ganirelix will slow things down quite a bit now.

Lauren1171 -- Ask for Estrace tabs instead of patches... MUCH better.

Tiger -- Yay for being PUPO! Missed your updates but sooo glad to hear everything went well!

Franny -- If I see your AF, I will for sure send her witchy ass your way!

Rio -- My day with Grandma was awesome. She's the cutest. We lunched and shopped til we dropped. Thanks for asking.

I know I missed a lot of you... but you're all in my thoughts daily.

AFM -- Just looking forward to going to NYC on Thursday. I really feel the need to get away. Hoping I'll feel more relaxed when I come back. My excitement for my next cycle (FET) is finally coming back. I've been reading FET success stories on-line and it looks like there's a lot of them. So I have hope. Seems at a good clinic which uses vitrification and freezes only high quality embies, that the success rates are around 50% or pretty close to what they were prior to freezing. My two frosties are the same quality as what was transferred on my fresh cycle (given a 60-65% success rate)... which is good quality (4BB's). My clinic just doesn't seem to do a lot of frozen transfers in my age group. But they do use vitrification and they do freeze only very good embies, so I have faith that my success rate will be close to what it would have been for a fresh. So I think I've got a 50/50 chance with my frosties. At least I need to believe that.

Did you girls have to do a HSG or hysteroscopy?

My new RE had me do everything again, blood tests (just hormones) and a HSG and a saline US (instead of hysteroscopy). I guess she wants to make sure nothign is wrong. I also had never heard that even if you have minor salpingitis (sp?) in your tubes that it can cut the pregnancy rate by 50% because the fluid from the infection is toxic or washes the embryos out. Anywho I guess it is good to get checked out but I really just want to get going on this! I am really worried about stressing too much this time, I don't think we can afford another try and we are out of pocket. I don't get frosties so this is it - hopefully we will get lucky!

Anyone taking any supplements? I heard wheatgrass is good for fertility. And don't forget to switch to full fat items. There is a great article on times about fertility diet and stay away from non fat or low fat dairy!!! :D

Rio - I had to do the HSG twice. Take Motrin before for the cramping after. I've never heard of wheatgrass, but I will try it. I also did not know that about the fat free milk.

I think we're doing a fresh cycle, which my RE was super surprised about and now I'm questioning this decision. I have about a week to two weeks to decide. I'm now on BCP.

Sorry I've been MIA. I had to kinda sit with my BFN to see how it would settle. I'm fine.

I love all your dog pics. I love animals. I, myself, am a crazy cat lady with two kitties.

lauren1171 - YAY for the insurance company goof! Glad you get to do another fresh cycle, woo-hoo!! And Oct/Nov is going to be a busy time for this thread. p.s. I was going to put you under the BCP part of the list, but when I saw your follow-up post about doing a fresh cycle instead, I decided to leave you up in the Waiting for IVF section. So just let me know if I need to move you.

Wondercat - I forgot to put in my last post how much I loved the pic of Sean. What a little cutie he is!!!

annashope - Great to hear your beta is down to 40! It's not often we cheer for dropping betas, but you have waited a long time for your numbers to drop so I'm glad it's getting closer to zero. Let us know how your appt goes on Thursday!

ryann - Good luck today with your SnS!

riogirl - Since I'm now tubeless, I get to bypass the HSG but still have to have the saline u/s to look at the uterus. My original HSG last year was painless, but I've heard others say it was quite painful, so I second taking the motrin beforehand.

victoria - Sounds like you and Ryann are going through the same thing with having your levels too high. Let us know how today's SnS goes!

lou - I'm so glad you're starting to feel the excitement of your upcoming FET! I have a feeling you're going to be one of those FET success stories. :)

franny - I've been dancing my ass off so hopefully AF finds you soon!

lauren319 - Glad you're feeling more settled after your BFN. And whatever you decide to do - fresh or frozen - we can't wait to cheer you on!

AFM, DH is scheduled for his S/A Friday morning so that'll be one screening test down. The results from his last S/A were great but by the time we start this cycle, his S/A will be a year old so it's time for another one. At least this time he gets a little room at the RE's office - last year he had to "take care of business" in a bathroom stall at the VA hospital. Poor guy!

Rio,

I had to have the HSG just last week. I took the Motrin before just like they told me and it was totally fine. I felt pressure but no pain. If there's a blockage, I could see where it could be more painful.

Me 39 "normal"
Dh 49 problem with tubes so no sperm "gets out" (basically like a vasectomy)

currently in 1st IVF -- BCP until 10/3, currently on Lupron. Suppression check 10/8. Start stims 10/9.

Well ladies it looks like I will officially be a Fall Cycle Buddy jumping on the October bandwagon! I am developing OHSS so after egg retrieval we are going to freeze all our embies and do a FET in October. I'm bummed, but I have heard horror stories about how sick people get with OHSS after a pregnancy, so I guess it's good that my doc wants to avoid that. It looks like my egg retrieval may actually be this weekend. My right ovary finally woke up and me have lots of good sized follies on both side!! I just hope we get a lot to freeze so we have good chances for our FET.

Klinger...My DH had to do his SA in the public washroom at the hospital as well. He said there was a man is the stall next to him having stomach issues. I STILL haven't heard the end of that one!!! At least for ER he gets to be in the room at RE office too!

Amanda...LOVE your little fluff balls!

Lauren...Just because your a cat lady doesn't mean we don't want to see pics of your furbabies!

Annashope...I'm glad to see your beta is dropping. Hopefully this means you will be able to move right along!

Victoria...I hope you get some good news today!!

Wondercat...today at my us I asked the RE lots of questions and she pointed out everything she was looking at on the screen. She told me how big the follies were (all were about 10-12mm), the only thing she didn't tell me was how many there were total. I tried counting on the screen and I think I saw at least 10 between the 2 ovaries. I will ask the nurse when she calls me today with my BW results.

Lauren1171...That's awesome that you get to do another fresh cycle!!!

Lou - Thanks for the compliments on Sean. When are you hoping to do your FET? Sounds like there are going to be a lot of FET's in this cycle. I just came across my old magic 8 ball going through a box of stuffed animals to wash and give to Sean, so I asked it if my next FET would work and it said "My Sources Say Yes." That's all the evidence I need, I'm all set! :) I have also heard that these days FET success rates aren't that much lower than for fresh cycles any more. The science is just so much better.

Victoria - I hope they are able to get your levels back in line with what they should be. Let us know how things go today.

riogirl71 - I had to do a hysteroscopy but not an HSG. What is that? I was putting away a couple gallons of whole milk a week during my last cycle (I love me some whole milk - probably drank 4 gallons a week while I was pregnant) and that worked out OK, so I can highly recommend it... :) It's weird that you say full fat is better for fertility, because around when I ovulate I just absolutely crave cream. I have been known to literally drink a small glass of light cream or half-n-half.

Lauren - Don't let your RE make you question yourself. If it feels right to you, that's what you should do. It's your life and your body, not his. As to your being a crazy cat lady... Did you read the part where I said I have FOUR?! What kind do you have?

annashope - I am so happy to see your #'s are down, you are that much closer to moving on! What kind of dog is Max? This is so neat seeing everybody's furry kids. Is there anybody here who DOESN'T have something four-legged scampering about their house?

Ryann - That's probably for the best that you aren't going on to a transfer this time around. Knowing what I do now I would have asked to do that my first cycle when I was close to OHSS. I was miserable, and totally not surprised when it didn't work. Glad you asked lots of questions. I'm sure you're disappointed to have to wait, but October is going to be a wicked lucky month for FET's!!!

Amanda - Your poms are so cute! I don't think my husband would agree though. He still has scars on his nose from his mom's dog attacking him when he was a kid, so he's not a fan of poms...

OK, seriously how do you add a picture to the signature? I never thought I was that dumb before but I am really not getting this...

It took me a few times to get pictures on here. I think everyone uses photobucket. Just upload a pic and then copy the link with img at the start and the word img at the end. Then come back here and paste that link. It is hard to explain in text. I don't know if I am doing a good job explaining it or not. good luck :)
