I know it all snuck up on us...Time somehow does that when your busy. At the outpatient surgery center the waiting room was packed. I decided not to take my valium until I got back there. I left my phone at home so when I saw the secretary ladies leave and turn out the lights at the front desk I got a little nervous but then I remembered they go to lunch at this time but that was weird seeing 8 patients out there in the lobby with me but nobody at the front desk. Some man who sat behind us was really get on Michael's nerves he talked soooooo much and he was plain impatient lol... I didn't take my valium until I got back to the patient's bed but should had taken it then just to put that man out my misery lol. So we got back to the hospital bed and Michael changed out into some green scrubs he looked so handsome...I got into the gown with those socks and requested hot blankets the best part and then took my valium. Laid in bed holding Michael's hand. He made a comment that the valium must be working bc he never seen me so calm. Finally the doctor walked in and told us how good the embryos thawed out they looked the same as they did the day we had ER except the first one of the two was already hatching today. We were very happy about that. The other one wasn't far behind but we feel really good about the first one. He took us back to the operating room and proceeded. Rested 45 minutes and went home, 3 hr drive back home but now I'm chilling and praying this all works! Since this was a 5dt, we'll go back next Wednesday, March 6th for the beta.

Christy - HURRAY! Congrats on being PUPO. Those embryos look great. I can't wait for your beta! (No POAS, right?) Image

Bliss (Alisa) - that makes sense. My insurance always makes me do a FET if I have frozen embryos, which is why it made me so mad that my old clinic MADE me freeze everything still growing. To do a whole FET for a single 4c 3d embryo? ugh. Sometimes fresh makes sense, even if you have a frozen embryo. This way, you'll 'bank' more for later too. Happy birthday!! :)

Suzy- Congrats on your daughter getting into her first choice college! That's great! Would driving to drop her off stress you out? It shouldn't be a problem during the 2ww - just don't help her lift things. But also, sending her on a plane and visiting a different time would be fine too, especially if her sister is already there.

AFM - nothing new. Just stimming and waiting...

Christy- I was totally impressed with your little ones. Congrats and prayers your ways those little ones stick. I hope the wait will fly by.

Leora- The POAS flasher is too cute. Driving DD to school is not the stressful part. Deciding to take DS at 22 mths with us or not is. Not sure 14 hours in the car would be much fun. My DH will start his new job on the 4/19 and that will be a huge stress for him. Can't leave DS with him unless someone comes to stay with them at the house. DH will be scrambling when he walks out of one job into the next one the same day. He is a stock broker and they never give notice. They jump into a new job trying to take all their clients with them. He will work late every night and weekends for a while visiting clients one on one to sign paperwork. I am sure we will figure it all out. Just don't want DD to feel slighted, but the last 2 days she has been a major pain since I wont let her get an apartment the first year and making her live in the dorms.

Blissful- I am praying right along with ya to do it again in 18 years. Love your video idea. I keep a journal for DS writing about his experiences and the joy he brings. My DH does as well.

AFM- 14 days till Lupron shots begin. Yipeeee for shots in the stomach.

I had a stillborn in May 2011. I have been medicated and doing IUIs since last September. I am currently on Apri (birth control) for another couple of weeks. The RE found a 9mm ovarian cyst. Hopefully, I will start stimms on March 10, and ER will be the first week of April. BC is already making me crazy and cranky. My poor husband! We are paying completely out-of-pocket so we are ready hoping this works. I am 29 with an AMH level of 0.3 and my DH is 40. He just did the hamster penetration assay test yesterday, so we will soon learn if we have to do ICSI or not.

Sunshine so excited for you and wishing you the best of luck.

Valeegirl- you'll be right on track with me because I start the lupron and get to quit BC around 3/10. My husband and I are also paying for everything out of pocket so hopefully the results are stunning.

On my front nothing has changed. Just getting sick of taking the birth control and parlodel. Haven't noticed any side effects from the parlodel which I am grateful for. Just waiting for my hsg xray on Thursday.

Hello everyone!

I am very new to this. I started another thread, but looks like the action is over here so I'm going to jump in with you guys if that's ok.

I just finished my first round of IVF medication and did my ER today. I am 33 years old and initially was only doing IVF due to my partner having a vasectomy, so we decided to do MESA/TESA and IVF. When I went in they told me I have a low amount of follicles in my ovaries. I was pretty caught off guard by this.
After 10 days of Follistim and Menopur I was ready for egg retrieval. They said I had 3 mature follicles and 4 more that should be ready by ER (measured from 14-20 I believe). When I woke up from the procedure today I found out they only retrieved 2 eggs!

Just got a call that one egg fertilized... I am not sure what emotion to feel right now. I so excited that one did, but scared at the same time that ONLY one did. ahhhhhh
me: 33 y/o low AFC
DF: Vasectomy
IVF #1
02/25: 7 follicles mature, 2 eggs retrieved
02/26: 1 egg fertilized
02/28: Transferred one grade 2, 6 cell embryo
3/11: Beta 2! Cycle FAILED :(

Horsecrzgirl- Welcome! We are here for you. Keep your chin up. I hope that one grows and you can put it back where it belongs. Try and not let the stress get to you.

Sariah2003- I will be a few days behind you. I start lupron on 3/12 with ET on 4/11 or 13. The waiting sucks. I feel like I am stuck just sitting here.

Valeegirl83- Sorry for loss. Breaks my heart for you because I had DS in May 2011. I pray you will be able to bring a sweet little one home this time.

Christy- Hang is there. Sorry you are bored. Hugs go out to you.

Horsecrzgirl- Welcome I'm glad you joined and I hope you will find a solid group of support here. Some people come and go but over the last few yrs, I have found a handful who are genuinely supportive and we continue to talk today. I know this road is hard, probably the only thing that keeps me going is knowing at the right time it's going to happen one way or another. The hardest thing is hearing when a cycle is cancelled, but in your case you have one thriving in there. Just yesterday as I was going in for the ET, my embryologist told me him and his wife went through IVF and he went on and told me they just had the one embryo to work but that embryo brought them home their son. So I want to encourage you to go in there and give this your best shot, you deserve this as much as anybody else so don't you give up on me.

Valeegirl- Seriously I couldn't even imagine what you've gone through. but I'm glad you found us here and we will get you through this IVF journey one step at a time. With IVF, we also pay for everything out of pocket, some U.S. states offer medical coverage for their residents, even some countries offer packages/better rates but dh and I applied for the Attain Program last August and finally got the loan approved. I hope this cycle is our one!

Leora- Oh you POAS pusher, you know girls know me better then that lol, I cannot stand the wait but I keep telling myself it's either yes or no and those pee sticks are sometimes in the middle they play with ours mind, making me too obsessive and I just need some distraction that's all and come Thursday everything will be back in full swing. So for now I'm eatting my blueberries, all those antioxidants you know and some pineapple core and getting plenty of rest.

suzyq- Wow being a stockbroker sounds fast-pace busy lifestyle, must be a stressful job. Mine is about to take in a new profession so he's constantly thinking about his next big move all the time. He's currently training to work with New York Life as a financial planner but his background is in Political Science as a college Prof so this will be a huge transition for him too, but I don't think we'll be moving unless he decides to cotinue teaching at another college and that would require moving outside the state. Where will your daughter be attending college, I know Ga, AL and FL area very well. Has she chosen her field of study? I hope the dorm life works out ok, many who have room-mates do make friends for life. I wish her well!

AFM: Yep, today was pretty much a boring day, I'm not one to stay all cooped up esp when home alone lol, but somehow I survived day 1 of bedrest. I watched a good movie though, Leap Year with Amy Adams is a must see if you like romantic movies. Anyway, I appreciate you ladies for helping me get through this 2ww period.

Sunshine~ Thank you for your encouraging words, it is very stressful to just sit and wait. I keep hearing success stories with only one embryo, so I am hoping and praying this is a healthy one. Those shots were horrible and gave me insane cramps! Did anyone else experience that? I don't even have the money for a second cycle right now, this one was all out of pocket :(
Good luck on your ET!!! That's so exciting!!! Yay :D I will be super close to you if my one little embryo is going strong on Thursday! Doing a 3 day transfer since I only have one egg :?
Anybody~ Any thoughts on acupuncture the day of ET? Also.. since I am new I don't know all the lingo. Can somebody please tell me what DH and RE stand for? Thanks :)

Sdtrying- I have been thinking about you lately, I know it's hard to let go, in some ways we never do. Three yrs ago, I planted a pink rose bush in honor of my angel but we will always hold these little ones close to our hearts. x What's crazy is when it happens naturally you feel you made a breakthrough, something like this gives you faith to keep trying. So we know it's not over and deep down we know our rainbow babies are coming home. Stay strong and you will get through this.

Other Lingo:
SnS- (stick and stir)- meaning bloodwork and ultrsound

SIL- Sister in Law
bd- babydance
BFP- Big Fat Pregnant
POAS- Pee on a Stick
FET- Frozen Embryo Transfer
