Mommyoneday- I will definitely inquire about the guided transfer. Thanks! How are you feeling? Nauseous? Tired? Hungry? I bet you don't mind one bit right?! Lol. I can't wait to be nauseous! Hahaha
Mommiewannabe- I wish I could be more help regarding the medication. Wednesday i finish my 2 weeks of bc and I start my meds for the Fet so ill be getting a crash course very soon and we will have to compare notes. Hope all is going well and you'll do the transfer tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
I spoke to my doc and he let me know there may be a risk of pre term birth if I transfer 2 because my fibroid increases my chance and multiples increase my chance. I really wanted twins and not have to go through this again. I have time to decide for a few weeks so ill sleep on it for a while. Any thoughts?
Hope - I'm feeling all of that! The worst part was that I had a bad cold and fever for the first 3 weeks after transfer and couldn't do anything for it. Now if I ever stop eating, I get super nauseous and my mouth tastes like metal. But yes, I'm loving every minute of it!! I'm so excited that you'll be starting in just one more day!
Hello all
I hope u all are doing good.
So I had my FET today, went better than I thought as I had been dreading it. They transferred both my embryos under US guidance. Fingers and toes crossed. Bed rest for 3 days per their advice. Having my hubby cut some pineapple now! Mommyoneday, enjoy every minute of the pregnancy! Hope and Hopeful, good luck on your upcoming cycles. Stocky baby dust all our way!
Mommiewannabe, hope you get amazing news in 2 weeks! Enjoy being PUPO:)
We haven't done any cycles and don't have anything coming up soon. My husband was just diagnosed with varicocele which explains his low sperm count and probably why my FET didn't work in Feb. Varicocele can cause DNA fragmentation but you can't see it because the sperm still looks normal. I scheduled an appointment for him with a urologist on a whim last week and he got diagnosed. We were pretty upset. He's trying to get the surgery scheduled ASAP. I can't believe my RE never recommended him see a urologist or mention that varicocele is the reason for low sperm 40% of the time! We did all our testing back in September, so they've known for a while. She just did blood tests and said basically there wasn't anything they could do to fix it or tell us why his sperm was low. I feel like the IVF/FET cycle we did was a waste and I wish we could try again for free. After his surgery, it takes at least 3 months for his sperm to become normal and there's no guarantee it'll increase, but it'll at least stop decreasing. I wish we would've have know this 8 months ago and he could've had the surgery by now. I think we'll try naturally for a few months after the surgery. Who knows, maybe this will be it! I'm trying to stay hopeful, but I feel like we always get bad news!!
I'm so happy to hear your good news mommyoneday, it gives me hope. I'm praying for sticky babies for you all!
Hopeful - I'm really sorry to hear that about your husband, but hopefully now the underlying problem can be fixed and you can get your babies. I can't even imagine how frustrated you must feel about the lost time and the money, effort, and physical toll of having gone through IVF and an FET. If you end up sticking with the IVF route, you should definitely ask for a sizable discount because of their failure to recommend your husband be diagnosed (and also see if they can now PGD your frozen embryos to see if there are any without the fragmentation issue).
But really I'm waiting to hear that you just suddenly ended up pregnant one day after your husband's surgery.
Hopeful; I am so sorry for all the wasted time, effort and energy. Hopefully, now that the problem is identified, and appropriately treated, u will conceive in no time at all! I am surprised your RE didnt sent your hubby to an urologist. That was actually one of the first things my RE had my husband do as they said the most common reason for low sperm count is a varicocele. It is definetly something you should talk to them about. Good luck with everything!
As for me, its day 4 since my FET. I have all symptoms of nausea, crmaping etc; which I KNOW is from the progesterone, but cant help hoping and praying. One more week to go; I should know next Friday. Hopefully I dont drive myself nuts in the interim!
Hope, how are things with you? When is your FET? Mommyoneday, hope u are doing well.
Good luck to us all!
Welcome back Hopeful!!! I was wondering how you were doing. I'm sorry to hear about the delay. I'm pretty shocked that your RE didn't recommend to have that done. I would definitely complain and ask for a discounted cycle. Two of my friends husbands had that surgery. It was very frustrating for them to wait but the good news is they both got pregnant the first IVF after the surgery. One of them is on baby number two!
Good luck mommiewannnbe! If you're anything like me you'll drive yourself nuts. Lol. I should by stock in EPT. I'm never able to wait for the blood test. The cramping sounds very positive! So exciting!
I just started the lupron!! It makes me tired. Has anyone experienced that? I also get a little rash on my stomach after. My transfer is set for June 14!!!
Thanks Hope. That's really good news to her about your friends and the surgery. I'm trying to stay positive! I don't remember lupron making me sleepy, but I think I've tried to block out that entire cycle.
The 14th is coming up! Fingers crossed for good news!
Mommiewannabe - I was just switched to crinone from the injectables and found out more info on crinone pricing. It is ridiculously expensive and even though its for pregnancy, they code is as infertility because crinone sells specifically for "ART patients," BUT if you call them, they will send you a coupon. Its $30 off each time you fill the prescription. I'm buying a box today, but then hopefully can send in my receipt with a coupon (once it arrives in the mail) and get $30 back. It's not great, but its something.
Good to know! I start that next week. My cycle is so far so good. My lining could be a little thicker so they increased my estrogen. The transfer is in 7 days and my lining is 7mm.
Mommieoneday- what's the news?? I hope all is well.
That's great, Hope! I don't know if I mentioned it, but I got pregnant with roughly a 6 mm lining. Crappy, I know. But it worked. Your 7 mm sounds great and hopefully it'll be even better in a week!!
Hope - Yaay! I was nervous when I didn't hear from you yesterday. I'm so glad it went smoothly. I felt kinda crappy starting about 2-3 days post transfer. I felt absolutely nothing the day of transfer or the next day. But the "cramping" was really mild also so I wouldn't worry if you don't feel anything. How many did you end up transferring? I'm so excited for you!! Everything crossed for you and can't wait for good news in 9 days.
I hope mommiewannabe is just missing because she is busy preparing for her baby or babies. Wishing you the best, mommiewannabe!
