Thanks for the note Jen,
The spray is a worry and for me it didn't down reg me I had to have other drugs to bring on another AF, which it did. I don't go onto injections at all as I am useing an Egg Donor. I am now on different drugs to build up my lining and carrying on with the spray for a further 16 days.
Hi Eacole,
I know what you mean about work, I am self employed and have lost alot of money during treatment plus the small matter of £3000 to pay for the privelage in the first place. It's a costly business in more than one way being reproductivly challenged!!! Good luck for your second go
A big hello to everyone and try to keep smiling love Jill xx

HI Girls!!

Well back from sunny spain now (and Cornwall but not quite as sunny! ).. The gigs went really well thanks, but had about 1 nights sleep over 3 days so was pretty knackered when I got home last night and had a very pathetic moody cow and tears fit!! It was boiling too - 34 degrees, and managed to have some tapas by the sea in Valencia! Lovely!
JenF - Yeah this sniffing lark is a WORRY! I find you just can't win instead of being chuffed to not feel any awful side effects we just think it's not working!! I've had v.bad mood swings but not much else? It's annoying though as just don't know until we get to scan and blood test :? .. How are you getting on? Good luck for your scan tomorrow! Fingers crossed for you..
Jill - that is fab news! Glad you are onto the next stage now, and a great relief your donor and other recipient are fine! When is your next scan? I know what you mean about being self-employed, I am too and the time off thing is a bit of a nightmare. Last time I took the whole 2 months off for my cycle as my works so manic and not supposed to be exercising, but then I felt fine and wished I'd worked! So this time I am doing my dates up to EC, the only problem is, it now turns out I have a gig on Sat 16th and my (hopefully) EC is planned for the Monday AM! So I am really hoping I will be ok to do it as I can't really cancel now? Oh well!
Elizabeth - Hope the sniffing is going ok for you and your cold goes asap!
Alison - GOOD LUCK! Wow we have a 2ww'er already!! Congratulations on your great embies, we'll be checking up on you for the 4th!

Well bye for now cycle buddies - sorry for my rambling posts!! :D :D :D

Update from Me

Post by Pam »

Hi

I went for my final scan on Friday morning and the saw 5 follicles. Four in one ovary and one in the other which they didn't think they would be able to get to because of a large Fibriod. I know five isn't great particarly as we are already on the very high dose of drugs but we were delighted at the prospect of 5 eggs...

I went for my EC this morning and they could only collect one egg ...we have to call tomorrow to see if it has become an embrio. We are a bit disappointed but still have a little hope.

If anyone has had a similiar experience I'd love to hear from you. Again, I am full of questions - does this mean next time would be a poor response or is it possible for the response to vary dramatically?

Keep your fingers and toes crossed for our lonely little egg!

Hi Girls,

Thanks for the note kel, it's lovely when you see your own name written, isn't that pathetic I obviously shouldget out more! Are you a singer by the way, you said you do gigs? My next and final scan is Monday 4th (8 days!!!). So you are hoping for Monday 18th for ET? the gig on the Saturday should be ok shouldn't it?

Alison, good luck for your 2 WW, I hope you are managing to keep calm, your test day is my final scan day, you wait so long for treatment then suddenly it's here and nearly over. Lots of good luck for the 4th we will all be waiting to hear with fingers crossed jill x

Pam, you sound down but maybe this is the one, try to keep as bright as you can, all your buddies are here if you could do with a chat good luck and let us know when you know more Jill x

Jen, I think you have a scan tomoorrow so good luck with it and let us know how you get on jillx

Elizabeth, You wiill be getting used to the old spray by now, I struggled with it and had to have different drugs to make me have an extra AF. I hope it is plain sailing for you Jill x

Take care all cycle buddies love Jill xx

Hi Buddies!

This thread's getting on a roll now!! :D Hope you're all ok today?
JenF + Jill - Thanks for asking, yes I'm a singer/music producer. I feel really lucky to get to do my hobby as a job! But I am feeling a bit stressed at the moment as it's gone busy all of a sudden and doing both things together are really exhausting. It's just last time I was so fed up doing nothing! Ohhhh can't win!! Sorry bit of a rant there girls!! :x Jill hopefully that gig will be ok for the 16th, but it will mean doing my HCG injection then going on stage, think it may be a bad idea! How much of you cycle are you going to take on work?
Hope your scan goes ok today JenF - hoping you can get onto those lovely stimms!!!! I'm having a blood test on Monday to see if it's working, and if their happy I'll have another blood test and scan 2 days later on the 6th oct and start stimms that day (hopefully!). Do you think it's weird that I'm having a blood test on it's own first? This d/r is so different to my last cycle! Good luck!
Pam - Hoping your embie is doing great - let us know how it's going..

Love to all you other cycle buds!

Hi Girls

All sounds like it is going according to plan .................Jill - what stage are you at at the moment??

Kel - as for your blood test thing..........sorry babe, I have not got a clue.......I am beginning to give up trying to understand these clinics and just go with the flow, it just seems to change all the time!!

I had my scan/bloods this morning......dr seems happy that I have down regged (I was starting to panic about the extra sniffs I had done when I felt that nothing had gone in!!!) just need to wait for bloods to come back this afternoon to determine when I start stimming.....either today or tomorrow or something....

Also got the Dr to change me onto the Suprefact (buserelin) injection as the sniffing was cracking me up.....I know it is probably a very deranged thing to do..........inflicting more injections on myself.....but at least it will preserve what little sanity I have left!!

Good luck girlies....

Nice one Jen! That's great news, you must be really chuffed to be onto the next bit now! I'm also going to be on gonal-f this time (menopur last time), have you got those pen injectors?? Was a bit shocked that will have to actually see the needle go in  Good luck with your jabbing! Let us know how you get on..

Hi All

Don't worry.... those pen injectors are a doddle once you've used them once! The needles are only about 1cm long, so they're not too scary. You should see the massive needles that I had to use when having IVF in italy..... They were about 6cm long and really thick. And they hurt like hell!

Good luck with it all! I'm nearly at the end of 2ww, and currently going insane!

Hi Girls

Jools is right they are dead easy. I used Puregon on my previous cycles and it is similar!!

Considering I am on my 6th cycle I would stick a needle the size of a Bic pen i me if it meant getting Pg!!!

Thanks girls.. Hopefully it wont be too scarey! I agree, it's worth anything if it means getting that BFP! I think I was just a bit shocked as after using the auto-injector last time, I thought I'll sail those jabs now I know what I'm doing!
Just one more question about those pen injectors, how long do each of the pens last? Because my nurse showed me briefly, and said you switch the dial round to the amount you want, so is there a large amount of it in one pen?? Sorry to sound a bit divvy but just curious before I get them!!
Jools - Not long now!!!!!! Lots of luck for the 30th!!! 6cm needles sound very scarey!!!
