Hi Paula,

I am doing icsi, although they wernt sure whether this was definately needed, and i guess its a long cycle, its my first attempt so have not got a clue. I started Burselin injections 4 weeks ago and becuse my lining still too thick i now have to take tablets for 8 days to bring on another af, and then hopefully, after another scan, i will start stimms, so im thinking possibly about the 10th sept for et. You will probably be about a week ahead of me.

I havent got a clue about the difference, but i do know there are a few people who have/are doing the short cycle on the buletin boards. Is this your first time?

I havent found the injections too bad, its a good job as i will still be doing these for a few more weeks!!! There is plenty of flesh around my middle, which helps to cushion the blow.

take care & all the best

hi everyone....

hi paula...there are so many different ways to cycle and dr's do it all different... i have to have a long cycle because i have PCOS and tend to hyperstim... so they want me VERY suppressed.. I would be thankful that your cycle is shorter.... less side effects and less shots... hope that you get a good result...

brs888-lupron... it's the worst, i think... iget so many headaches and hot flashes... i aslo am SO crabby....blow up for nothing.... hang in there.

randa- hoping that the caffeine withdrawl is going better.... just better in the long run...

everyone else... we are going to have a group of BFP this month, i just know it!!

Hi Sue,

Started my injections today and it was an absolute nightmare, i'm the worlds biggest wimp. You can read my post in the over 40 crowd if you want to know how I did, promise not to laugh at me though

I asked the nurse about the differences in cycles today and she said I was on a short cycle because I was 40 and was running out of time. Anyone 40 or over they put on a short cycle. Also, unlike you girls i'm not at risk for something  forgot now. hehe.

Um, anyways, thanks for your replies as well cramus, nice to talk to you. What stage are you at right now?

Sue, sounds like we're going to be quite close together. :) By the way, this is my first round of treatment. Good news for me is that if it doesn't work this month I can go strait into trying again next month, and the same the month after that. That's the difference of being on a short cycle. YOu don't need the break in between, so i'm very glad i'm on a short cylce now, and yes, less needles

Take care girls. Talk to you soon.

Hi Paula,

Sorry i havent logged on earlier to check how your injection went, when i get chance i will go and read about it, im sure i wont laugh

I moved house about 4 weeks ago and everything is up in the air, its like a building site, friends were actually surprised at how bad it is. So i have been trying to put my energy into that, as i go back to school in about 2 weeks  Cant believe it has flown by.

Hope everyone is doing well. My injections are still going well and hardly any brusises to show for my daily attack with a needle.

Take care everyone & looking forward to all the BFP

love

Morning Sue,

Don't be sorry, everyone has a daily life and things they need to do. It sounds as though you've been very busy. Take care of yourself, don't work to hard!! Glad to hear your needles are going ok. DH did mine yesterday and after my squirming around he made me sit on the table  This morning he did it again and I don't know what he did but he did it wrong and nearly killed me. I was bleeding and i'm sure i'll be looking like a pin cusion soon, but i'm not complaining. Am I??
PMA PMA PMA :D DH leaves for China tomorrow, he's gone right up until the ec date. I don't know how i'm going to do this to myself but i have 23 hours to psych myself into it

Talk to you soon

Hi Paula,

You really arnt having a good time with the needles, are you? What a blessing you are only doing a short cycle. Try not to get too wound up about it all, im sure it will only make it worse (if thats possible). What a good job dh is away for a while imagine what state you would be in if he had to keep attacking you with the needles :?

Smita, thanks for the luck and happiness wishes, that really is sweet. It will be a fab house when its done. How are you doing? where are you up to?

To everyone else hope you are enjoying the summer, it is lovely here in liverpool, and treatments are going to plan.

take care

Hey Smita,

Yes, it does help that i'm on a short cycle...phew

Sue, tomorrow i'm going to try to be brave. I can do this PMA :D and no more hubby to stab me

You know last night I had a dream all my teeth were falling out. I was spitting out bits of teeth like crazy. Mouthful after mouthful, it was horrible. Then someone was talking to me about my new beautiful dentures I was going to have. Nice and white and oh my GAWD! Was a horrible dream. I don't know what it means but I certainly do need to try to relax a little bit here.

Thanks for you support guys. It helps alot to talk to you all about even the silly little daily things.

 Your posts are funny Paula.. The whole bit abt teeth falling out and dentures sure sounds scary(when its happening to you in a dream) but funny(to me)!!
Not to mention doing the needles yourself..
I'm on heparin daily and I inject myself.. Mom wanted to learn toinject me, but when I saw her heading towards me with that needle, i said no thanks I'll poke myself!! Somehow psychologically not prepared for anyone other than myself or the nurses to inject me!!

Well, Crasmus...you pretty much summed up how I am feeling  Headaches, cranky, hotflashes. I have to tell you it gives me a whole new respect for women going through menopause! The headaches are the worst for me. Waiting for my AF to start the next step of my cycle.

Dreams...haven't had a teeth falling out dream, but I did have a dream that aliens were after me...kind of like the War of the Worlds film. Crazy stuff girls

I have never had accupuncture, but it seems to come highly recommended on this site. I wanted to try this time after our last failed IVF, but I guess I waited too long. I was told I shouldn't start accupuncture in the middle of my IVF cycle. Any thoughts?

Hi all, hope the treatments are going well.

I have only got 4 more days of tablets to bring on another af, and then i should be stimming, (about a weeks time), cant wait to get to next stage, feel like i have been at this start forever. today we have got the plasterer in so must move the computer soon before it gets covered.

Paula - seems like your not the only one with mad dreams. Hope you have still got your teeth today  , and you managed to do injection ok.

brs888 - Sorry i havent got a clue about acupuncture, but i do know a few people have started it just before af and it has delayed the start a bit.

Smita - hope your doing ok, like you the thought of someone else injecting me just didnt appeal. DH dosent even like watching me do it, so good job i didnt want him to do jabs.

crasmus - Hope you are doing well. How are things going?

Roll on september, cant wait to see the big bunch of positives we will all have

take care

Love

Paula - I have the same dreams too about my teeth falling out  . In fact I had one last week..even woke DH up to tell him about it. Very unsettling..I am just talking and then bits of my teeth start falling out or hanging there...it is supposed to mean something but I don't remember now.

I hope all you girls are doing ok :D :D :D

Just read your post on acupuncture. I decided to try accupuncture alongside IVF because I had read that if you have it before and after ET it can help the embryo(s) to implant. In fact one accupunturist (who was treating my DH. We have male factor, so was trying to improve his sperm count/motility). Was only going to treat me before and after ET because I was ok otherwise at the time. I eneded up using another accupuncturist, who was nearer to home. She treated me once a week for approx a month prior to EC and ET. I guess it depends on why you want accupuncture. I would probably ask advice from one first. I would certainly recommend it, it chilled me out completely on ET day!
Good luck!

Hi there, I'm lying low until the weekend when we'll have had the scan and hopefully, the green light to start stims. Until I start downregging I also feel I'm tempting fate, what's that expression 'there's many a slip 'twixt the cup and the lip' in other words, I won't count my chickens just yet.....

hugs
