Hi Ladies!

I hope you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed the gorgeous weather! I got to sit by the pool, take my dog to the beach, have a lot of BBQ food and relax!!! Now it's back to reality on this Tuesday afternoon and I still want it to be the weekend!

Steph-I'm so happy to hear that you have a baby boy and a baby girl in your belly! I'm sure Andrew was ecstatic!! Is the boy going to be Andrew Junior? Your bump is so cute! I actually saw that top at motherhood this past weekend!!!

Katie-hey mama! How's it going? Have you started to buy little baby girl clothes yet?!?

Helene-great family pic! you really put a lot of effort into this project and it shows!! now enjoy some stress-free time and relax!!!

dodo-so glad you are over here on this side of the boards!! when do you go for your first scan?

Hazel-hope your dad is doing well and I can't wait to hear the update.

AFM...I have my obgyn apt on Thursday and I am hoping they do a scan!!! I went maternity clothes shopping this past weekend and it was overwhelming but a lot of fun!! My chest went up a full size which is a shock since I'm pretty small on top and now I'm a 36 C!!! I will post this week's baby bump and last week's in the next day or so!

Just checking in, thank you all for the wonderful words and wishes. I'm starting to feel human again although nowhere near ok. glad the hospital recomended time with our son and the pictures, I didn't understand it then but I do now. I miss him every second of every day. But I know it gives me one more voice in heaven rooting for me.
The doppler I ordered came today with a shipment of maternity skirts, it started the water works all over again. I'd had hours between waves before. The worse was last night when my husband said the words "our son" just typing it makes me lose it. I hope and pray none of you should go through this and only heathy babies on this board from now on. Thanks again.
Any questions - no matter how insensitive you think they are, please ask. If all that can come out of this is knowledge then that is something I guess.

Oh dear it is so devastating that he is gone but for the first time in your life you had a son... even if it was not in the right circonstances, you were a mom and you had a son... he is up there in Heaven looking and signing and praying for you to have his sibling anytime you are ready... I would to see him if you feel like sharing his pictures one day.

there is a place where you can request free signy for all sorts of things including loss and grieve... It is here: http://www.hotgraphix.net/index.cgi they do a really good job.

Evening ladies,

Malya again i am so truly sorry, the last mommies board i was on there was so many sad stories there too and it just goes to show until you hold your baby in your arms that you are never out of the woods. For us ivfers its a double blow as it takes so long for us to conceieve then to be taken away so quickly, your son would be proud of you. Did you pick a name for your little angel??

Steph so one of each!!! How wonderful, i love your bump its lovely and round!!

Helene what a lovely family photo and ye all match so cutely in your outfits it was worth the effort.

dodo Congrats on your pregnancy!!!!! Its nice to hear some good news here.

Angela what a relief you are monitored weekly, i know still terrrifying everytime you get a scan but it will be sooooo worth it.

hazel hope all is ok with your dad and you are getting some time to take it easy.

AFM finally got next date for scan and bloods, wed 9th june, oh the nerves have started to kick in, everyone tells me it will be ok but its just hard to know isnt it esp. when you cant feel it moving, having some mild cramps the past wk but i am sure its just growing/stretching (please God). Roll on next wk!!!!

gixxxx
7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!
Its TRIPLETS!!!!

Malya – Yes, I have to agree that I was so very happy that I went through the entire delivery process w/ Ashley and spent the night with her. To a lot of people it sounds very strange or even cruel but it helps with some closure. With all of my miscarriages/ectopic pregnancy I always wondered what he/she looked like and felt like to hold but with Ashley I got to see her and cherish the many features that she shares w/ my DH. She looked like a clone of him. So sometimes I find myself staring at him because I can see her. Please remember I am always here for you, just ask.

I am not sure if you work outside the home, but I want to prepare you to have to answer “how’s the baby”, “how do you feel” “when are you due again” and then you have to tell the story over and over again. Several people will break down and cry with you when you are trying not to but they just really care about you. At times, it was actually therapeutic for me to talk about her. Several other couples who have lost babies at the point that we have lost our babies attend support groups and I hear it is amazing. It might be something that can help both you and your DH.

Helene – I absolutely love the pictures! You have such a good looking family. I have to say that your pictures were well worth the wait!

Stephanie – I am glad that you found some clothes at Motherhood! Are you wearing one of the shirts in the last picture that you just posted? I really like it! You look so cute w/ your pregnancy belly!

Katie – I hope you are feeling better after the Memorial Day weekend. I saw that you mentioned that you were sick and looking for a doctor over the weekend. I hope you feel better soon!

Gi – So your scan is scheduled for next week … that is exciting! Will this be your anatomy scan where you will find out the sex?

Claudia – I am so glad you enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend and bought some maternity clothes all at the same time!

Babyluv – How are you and the babies doing?

Natakia – I surely hope you are doing ok. We haven’t heard from you lately!

Karen – I hope you are doing well today!

Hazel – I hope you are doing well … any news on your dad yet?

Sara – I surely hope they can tell you the sexes of your twins at your appointment this week. It is a very good chance that they will be able to see this week.

Dodo - great beta numbers … how are you feeling? Do you have a u/s date scheduled yet?

AFM – It is so hard to get back to work today after our three day weekend holiday! The nausea hasn’t got any better … I know this heat isn’t helping but I guess I will just have to deal with it this summer. My DH just came home and told me two other couples that we hang out with on Saturdays are all expecting babies also and they are all due in December! How funny is that? All of our babies will be days apart in their ages! Please god let all of our babies make it and be healthy! This is something that I pray for everyday!!!

angela - thanks for the picture comment. So sorry you feel sick and nauseated but glad it's getting better. I think you are carrying a girl, you get more nauseated when you carry a girl they say! It is great that you will have other mom's to talk to and have fun with when you baby is born and I am sure everyones baby including yours will be just fine now... enough is enough isn't it :) Hugs!!!

AFM - Oh ya we had a garage sale this weekend, my dh wanted me to get rid of some stuff so I though being on a busy road I could just take the stuff outside and let the kids sell some of their toys and get a few dollars. They really liked it and were very exited. They made a lot of change not many dollars in all but still enjoyed it... it was a first experience for them too bad it was so cloudy. We will have to do it again when it's a better day. We sold all our nice big stuff good thing it gives us more room in the basement. When I finish going through and placing things I should have more to put out ... it's going to be fun.

We also started our signing lessons last night and it was super fun. The lady was nice and she came to our home nice thing to do only for $25 dollars for 30 min... so we gave her $30 so she could pay for gas. I don't know how those people make a living with that low salary?? I think it's because she cares and likes to do what she does. So the kids, me and dh learned a few signs last night it was fun and she said that babies can start signing as young as 6 months so we have 3 months to show him some sign words... she said she did it with her daughter which is a normal child and she could have whole conversations with her like while changing her diapers way before she could talk... apparently it really helps all children when they sign before they speak... so see how Jamie brings good things to the family! Plus it is something we can do all together as a family activity :)

Finally this is my last month for my job... I hope I get the summer off that would be so cool I could go camping with the kids for a week or 2 and just enjoy the summer... it think it's going to be a nice summer :)

have a good day everyone.

Just a quickie from me as I'm heading off to my parents tomorrow morning - Dad is having his biopsy at a hospital about a hour away from home on Friday so I'm going to drive Mum & Dad there and back. DH and I are then staying in the area for the weekend, and going to a huge baby/kids department store near to my parents on Monday to start thinking about what we need to buy for Zorba. 4 floors filled with nothing but baby and child stuff! So I'm quite excited about that! Our neighbours bought us a baby monitor at the weekend as an early present - they said it was a reminder that we need to get going on the baby shopping, lol!

Steph - honey, I'm so excited for you about your b/g combination, what a perfect balance! Is the boy definitely going to be Andrew Junior then? Have you started thinking about girl names as well now? Hoping you got your court date for DD's adoption and she's getting the birthday present she wanted for tomorrow... Very cute baby bump, btw!

rayofsunshine - huh, don't you love when you describe how horrible you feel with m/s and all people seem to say is "good" because it's 'supposedly' a sign of a strong pregnancy? As if that takes the sickness away? It never made me feel that much better when I could barely stand up without starting to vomit, lol. I can't believe no-one helped you with your room move and how unhelpful your principal was! Ooooh, do you think you might be able to find out the sexes this week?

Helene - you worked so hard on those family photos! Now you can take some time to relax...

gi - happy to hear you finally got a date, Wednesday 9th will be here before you know it.

Angela - I'm so happy that you're going to get weekly u/s, it's fantastic that they're going to keep such a close eye on you and of course that will mean less anxiety for you as well.

dodo - congratulations, great betas! Roll on your u/s... To answer your question, I'm having a singleton, due on 7th September. The hospital where I had my anomaly scan at 20 weeks doesn't tell you the sex as a matter of policy.

claudia - good luck for your OB app't tomorrow, here's hoping they do a scan. How's that cute baby bump growing? Hahaha, know what you mean about being shocked when your boobs get bigger over the first trimester - I went for a proper measurement at 13 weeks and almost fell over when the lady said I'd gone from a 36B to a 36D! I seem to recall that katie was calling me Dolly Parton for a few days after that! Sadly, I don't think we get to keep them this size after the baby comes and we stop breast feeding...

katie - hope you're feeling better now. Please tell me the secret of only gaining 2lb in a month! I've been gaining 1-2lb every single week since I hit the second trimester! I've totally given up worrying about it though, there'll just be a little more weight than I thought for me to lose after Zorba puts in an appearance. Yay for OB's who don't need an IVF lesson, and for a lovely female one at that. Any flutters yet from your little girl?

malya - honey, my heart absolutely breaks for you, I was devastated to read your post. I wish I could say something which would make you feel better, but there are no words. Please just know that you and DH are in my thoughts and prayers.

hjw - so Zorba is the baby's name right? And you still don't know if it's a boy or girl right?

Here is what I found on the internet for that name:

Zorba - The name Zorba is a baby boy name. The name Zorba comes from the Greek origin. In Greek the meaning of the name Zorba is: Live each day.

Helene - yes, we named the embryo 'Zorba' on the day of our transfer back in December, after the very jolly Greek doctor who did my egg retrieval this time round. I didn't know about the 'live each day' meaning, but I have to say I like it! Seems quite apt for an IVF'er... Our previous embryo was 'Dieter' after the kind German doctor who did my very first transfer. It's only a bit of silliness, but Zorba seems to have stuck as a nickname for now! We'll have to start thinking about proper names at some point, I suppose...

Hi everyone -

Ack! I'm sorry to be MIA lately but I've been busy, busy, busy! In my quest to get all outside projects done before the weather gets too hot, i feel like I'm wearing myself out. My DH, Chris spent most of Memorial day weekend power washing the deck so I can get started painting it ( and I plan to just do a little bit each day I dont care if it takes a whole week!) Well he went back to work so now i'm doing that too (but I dont get it down to the bare wood he says  )
So I wanted to check in with you guys before I mow at least the front yard (what? its really hot outside & I'm pregnant so i can break it into 2 days, cant I?)
Anyway guess what? I felt movement this morning! Finally! I think it was a leg? but I'm not sure, it was the sensation of movement though. Now I cant wait for it to happen again, of course. I hope you all had a nice relaxing long weekend. How is everyone feeling lately?

Malya - Oh honey you are so brave and strong. I feel so bad this happened to you. And to have the awful timing of getting your Dopplar & mat. skirts arrive? right afterwards? Dreadful. I think you need to take the time to rest, heal, recover and then hopefully try again. Big giant hugs to you - xoxo

Hazel - I've got everything crossed for your dad's biopsy. I hope the news is better than expected all around. Now what? You are going to shop in 4 floors of baby supplies? Thats an awfully huge store! I hope you dont end up on overload! Just remember you dont need everything at once. Its overwhelming how many choices there are. Ive made a list so I can keep checking things off, but wow! These little babies need soooo much stuff! Enjoy the fun parts of baby shopping with your hubby!

Steph - Oh i just love the belly pics! You can definitely see that your expecting, I wish my bump looked that defined, i still feel like i just look fat. but i do feel that my belly is getting hard now, it feels sort of weird. You were a lucky girl to get a DVD of the sono - I just got paper printouts. I havent any Motherhood stores that i know of here, but I've had such good luck with old navy and their low prices that i think i'll stick with them when i guess we'll need even more larger sizes by the last trimester.

Helene - How sweet that the whole family will be signing together, see Jamie is bringing you all closer and he's just little still. Hooray for a wonderful family picture - that is finally finished - it came out great!

Dodo - Sorry to hear about your puppy's kidney infection, it is so hard to watch your beloved pet aging. My Cassie made it to 10 1/2 which is really elderly for a Great Dane. Yes it was old age, she had a stroke in my arms one morning. I really miss her. Icry when i think of her so I'll change the subject.
How much longer til your u/s? How are you feeling mama? Do you feel pregnant yet? It took me a while to believe it - after waiting, hoping and cycling for so long. Soon you'll see that beautiful flickering on the screen of the heart beat and it will all be worth it!

Claudia - Go Dolly Parton! Mine havent stopped hurting since the transfer. the only difference is the entire breast was sore and now its just the nipple area, but sometimes its so bad I'd like to sleep in a soft cotton sports bra - ugh. When are you doing your level 1 or NT scan? Some places use different titles, but its the same thing. Thought it was done between 11-14 wks? No clothes shopping just yet, I'll save that for last - I've got to get the nursery furniture done first - in other words the expensive stuff done first. Good luck at your appt tomorrow! How is that cute little bump looking?

OK the lawn awaits - ugh xoxoxo

Katie - YAY for movement! It's about time! lol You are almost 20 weeks now so you should start feeling it more regularly really fast. If your little girl is facing the back most of the time then you will feel it less. I think my boy is still facing my back because I haven't felt him a lot lately and little girl seems to be more active. It worries me a little (of course right?) but I have to keep thinking how he was facing my back and that's probably why. I keep trying to rub my belly and make him move but nothing. Humph! I can't wait till I get further along so I can feel them both more often, even if they are football players in there kicking field goals through my ribs! Be careful out there in the heat doing those chores! Even if it takes you two weeks! :)

Hazel - I hope everything goes well for your dad. It's great that you are so supportive and there for them the way you are. A whole 4 floors full of baby stuff! Sounds like fun! Zorba is going to be spoiled, I can see it now. Have you thought about names at all yet or are you planning on waiting until you meet Zorba to give a name? Looks like the boy will be Andrew Jay, though I still hate the whole Junior thing. lol Some people have recommended that we make him a 2nd instead of a Junior. Either way I am not fond of it, but with the same name we will have to make him one or the other. Little girl will likely be Angelina Lily. My DD middle name is after my mom's middle name and this baby girl will have my maternal grandmother's first name.. well kind of. Lilian was her name but I don't think that goes well so I will shorten it to Lily, plus it is my favorite flower. :)

Angela - Yes the clothes in the pic was from Motherhood. Though they were expensive, I don't think I need to shop there again unless I have some coupons. lol I love the top though. The sides bunch in and give me somewhat of a figure. From the front is a whole other story though, I look more like an egg. lol I hope your m/s gets better. How poopy that you have to feel poopy and go back to work. UGH! It's funny that you have friends due around the same time. That happened to me after I found out I was preggers. Seems once one person is, they all are. :) I hope too that everyone's baby(ies) make it to term and nice and healthy!! My heart breaks when I have to see another sad story.

Gi - Yes, one of each! We are exited! :) So June 9th... do your best to look for boy or girl! lol They don't tell you though do they? Don't worry, little one is just fine. We are all worried until we can feel them move and even then we still worry. It just never goes away. Soon enough you will feel little bitty pokes and when you do, your mind will wonder... Was it? That is when you know it was, because if it was gas or something else, you wouldn't have to ask that question. :)

Malya - Glad you could stop in! Yes, the hospital knows exactly how important it is for closure to hold your baby. It is something some people will refuse because they prefer the pictures in their head to the reality of seeing their little one without life. However it is something many regret horribly after. So you did a good thing to accept that part of the process. I have a question... do they know what happened? Why did your water break so early, did they do any tests? After each tragedy we read on this thread, I know we all think how it could happen to us too. After all, we google everything under the sun so we know just about as much as the doctors do. However, nothing can prepare us to have to go through or even hear what happened to you. You are in my thoughts every day! I am sure your little guy is rooting for you as we all are!

Caudia - So you have an appt tomorrow.. lets cross fingers and toes for a scan so you can see Flick again! :) So where are these belly pics? I know how you feel about the boobs, I grew 2 sizes... but with a little room to spare. So I am a DD but a small DD. The top in the pic is from Motherhood. lol I saw it and had to have it. It is a little see through but not too too bad. Not bad enough for me not to buy it. I need the extra ventilation in this heat! Andre wis very excited about the boy and girl combo. He got a little nervous at first since we found out about the girl first but he was jumping on air when baby a turned out to be a boy. It is exactly what he wished for. He just keeps getting everthing he wants... what a lucky *******. lol

Helene - I like the signing idea. On BabyGaga they have a sign feature. It has a few of the important signs for baby. It even has a little cartoon baby doing the signs for you while telling you how to make the movement with your hand. It's quite cute and good for DD to learn. She has a sign language book somewhere and learned her ABC's with it as well as some other things. I have always wanted to learn ASL but never gotten around to it, maybe now I will.

AFM - Not much going on really. I think I am nesting though. I feel like I need to hurry and get things ready for babies really soon. Not sure if that is really nesting, my pre-planning self or my body or intuition telling me that I need it done soon for a reason like them being early or bed rest. I found some clothes for babies for cheap but still need a dresser to put them in. lol Soon enough things will fall into place. Only 4 months or so... wow! It's going to zip by isn't it?
