Well, I'm off to bed too. I have to get up early so I can walk the doggie before I go to acupuncture and then ET. My nurse came by tonight to give me my first PIO and it didn't hurt one bit. I'm sure after a day or 2 I'll be crying about the pain. She also told me that I couldn't drive home tomorrow after ET because I need to be horizontal for 36 hours! And they won't let me drive on valium. Well, I hope my embies are still doing their thing tomorrow morning and we can push it back to a 5-day. Otherwise, I guess I'll call a cab. Who knows! I'm not going to let it stress me out. It would be par for the course. Since we had so much trouble getting to the ER. It is what it is, right?

Hi,

I am very new to this whole thing. My husband and I were trying to get pregnant for a little over a year. I am 30 and he is 34. We found out that his sperm don't live for long periods of time. Therefore, we skipped right over insemination to IVF. Everything kind of happened quickly. I just started the pill and I received the package of meds today. Upon opening I felt scared, yet anxious. I feel overwhelmed. We have to do ICSI due to the sperms' survival. How are the shots??? Any advice??

I think you got lost in the posts!! WELCOME! Many of us are doing ICSI here. The shots are super easy. The first one is scary b/c you don't know what to expect, but I never used ice and they don't hurt at all! Ok tiny ant bite sting sometimes. Just take a deep breathe and be prepared for a wild, emotional, but satisfying ride!!

Waiting 4 Mia - No, I haven't tested, didn't even buy one. It is funny, because I had to go to my husband's college and we went into a back staircase for him to do my PIO shot. I have never done one myself and did not want to start tonight. Luckily, no one came near. I just imagined us getting busted "shooting up".

SUGA - Hope to hear from you soon. How did everything go?

Kimbers Welcome! You really do get used to the shots. The one that's a little harder is the progesterone...my butt hurts
Sometimes you get tired of the poking etc., but the ride is exciting so...here you go!


Weezie Glad the shot went well...It doesn't start hurting me until about 8 hrs later. I'm taking 1 1/2 CC though.

Bat- have you gotten the call yet? Are you going to be able to push ET back to a 5-day? I'm getting ready. I have acupuncture this morning then ET tenatively scheduled for 12:30. I hope they send me home and have me come back sunday!
