hi girls, and a big hi to MLG, hope that soon ur babe arrives andnot on xmas day!!

We had the news y'day we cant get nhs funding for 30 mths, so have decided to self fund.....

I was annoyed!! Its the p/code thing, so unfair. It seems suffolk is the wrong place to live!!
Anyway, if i was in cambs, i would start ivf on nhs straight away at bourn hall, coz i am in suffolk, i have to wait 30 mths, how unfair!!

We cant wait 30mths, when we hae been ttc since dec01 anyway, its totally unfair to expect us to wait when we have alrdeay waited!!

I am annoyed as they said iui would work for us, as other wise we woul have gone on the list back then!!!

So we are self funding, and then going to stay on list anyway, just incase!!

Will call clinic2day about starting when AF cmes in feb.

We are considering egg share too, the blastocyst option, we dont know yet, if we do b/cyst its £500 more but gives 50% chance, if we dont its 33% I am worried about the embie not getting that far and then we have lost our chance, (cant freeze any embies-due to donor sperm laws)

Lisa, if u use the donor at glasgow, does that not freezing rule still apply or is it just luis hughes??

Just a VERY quick one - will post personals tonight.....AF arrived, at hosp for bloods in morning. Hope they will tell me then re stimms on 27th. had an extremely dull ache in my right side for three days (thought trapped wind) - is it wind or a side effect of drugs?????

NIKKI - Post ya fully later but have you checked re self funding....if I self fund a cycle then i loose a cycle on nhs.....xxxxx

Hope you are all well. The pain in my side is gradually moving and becoming more uncomfortable and I am pooped!!!! Could sleep for a month (if only!)...think I underestimated the effects of the early stages.

Nikki - How are you hun? It is a bummer re the NHS. We had to wait 3 years but because it took them so long to give us treatment options we were two years into the waiting list by the time we knew how we were going to proceed so decided to wait. Well done on booking Jason Donovan!! Something for you to look forward to xxx

Souris - Nice to see you back. Glad you managed to speak to your sis. Hope all went well with DH's kids. Take care of yourself x

that little ditty is for you Julie...AF ...ON TIME... double Wooo-HOOO.... when do you find out about stimmimg start date????? Each down reg is differant for everyone...I had really bad headaches...where on your side are the pains???The drug over rides the ovaries talking to your brain, so they could be achy because of that. Or you may just have constipation ...( being worried does it to me???never mind the meds!!) Hope to get some news from you soon!!!

Nicki what a bummer...the postcode lottery in Englad sounds nuts! 30 months is a LONG LONG time, You are right to keep on the list though you might need a sibling for your baby thats gonna come in 2007!!!! Hope things get sorted for you and AF behaves herself for you to go in Feb! Roll on the new year!!!

Thanks JEN for the little ditty!!! Went to hospital and had scan but uterus lining too thick, 8mm > Got to stay on Buserelin and rescan on 2 January. Fingers crossed it will be thinner then! I really do think Take That's Patience is the song for me.....

Hiya everyone i have the internet back on my PC!!! Yeah!!!

Called clinic to start ivf in feb, however it may well just be March, but either way I am chufted to bits!!

I am egg sharing, have to see clinic in jan for the chat and all the donor stuff etc..... also have to have counciling so does dh.

This is why we think ivf will be nearer March, as Dh cant take any time off wrk in Jan, so if i use jan and feb to de tox and then march to down reg and then april for the ivf i should be sorted, and zita says that ivf is best in the spring also!!!

I dont know if thats true julie what u said about nhs.... but i aint waiting til june 2009 to start ivf, when i have bee waiting since dec 01 to get pregnant. This will be our last try forever, we have made that choice already, and if in june 2009 we feel different then we'll cross that bridge when we get to it..... but for now this is our first & last try of ivf.... Finngers crossed huh??

I dont understan about the lining being too thick?? Yikes, i have much to learn. Have you down regged now?? Did Af come?? Where are you up too?? I am lost?? sorry babe, but u know this ivf journey is totally new!!

Can i ask too, i am scared of the injections, hate needles, how can i over come this, is it painful doing the injections? how do u know its gone in right?? I am scared to injecting the wrong part??

Julie- Sorry to hear that honey...amazingly i said Patience should be a Pheonix song when i heard it after my news of 3% only chance of using my eggs!!!! That was 4wks ago now...I hope you take this news with the patience cause it's better getting it right lining than going in slap dash...At least you know the clinic has your best interests at heart!!!.I have always experienced at least 1 setback in ivf each cycle i have done. It's tyhe nature of this process...it doesn't ref;ect on a bad cycle, it's just a wee blip
Hope that helps and Keep the Faith Honey..we could do with celebrating a pheonix pregnancy in january...It will help us all focus on the year ahead and what it may bring for us all...I hold great hope for you honey...I can feel it in soul

Nicki- congrats on getting your pc working AND sorting out a cycle date i can assure you that there aint 1 person who is NOT scared of needles before embarking on this ivf ....but by the end of the 1st week it becomes easier. The best thing to do is to slap the spot your going to inject and then quickly do it while the stinging is still going on!!! Sounds a bit like self harm but it works..especially if your using cetrotide as it stings like billy O. the down reg i did was inj by Adam in my bum cheek. Putting the syringe in quickly and plunding down the drug slowly helps. But it is worse if you worry about it. Taking slow deep breaths and counting takes your mind off whats going on. I know it sounds bad but a little stinging slap does help! ( NO NO NO! not that way... I am NOT into S&M i did the slaps myself). You've been for acupuncture and it ain't any worse than that. I amsooooooooo pleased that this has finally been set up for you....Faith in the Spring and a good detox...thats a great start to nurturing a baby x x

I am doing good finally sorted out invites for the wedding the proofs should be here within the next 10 days...I am really excited about Christmas now and am looking forward to seeing family ( christmas) and friends visit inbetween until after New year. I have got the house spick and span and then Puppy Chops comes in with Mucky paws and a big stick that he has chewed to bits on the lounge rug!!!!! But Adam managed to get an extra hour off at work and we went a loving walk with him on the beach from 1-2pm. It was fab ansd sunny up here all day. ( tho nippy cold wind)...So glad we are here as i am really beginning to relax in this beautiful scenic place of sea sand hills and greenery!

Hi Nikki - Glad got PC sorted..and glad you are feeling better about things. I got married in March and once crimbo had gone it flew by so hopefully won't feel like it is too long!! Fingers toes and t*ts (if they were big enuf ) crossed for you gal.

I didn't realise about lining being too thick either . I know it ideally has to be 10mm for implantation and it was 4mm the first scan, which is good pre stimms, but apparently the AF scan should be 5mm or less and I am 8mm......trouble is when they scan me on 2 Jan I won't be on AF so assume it will be 4mm again so don't know what they have to gain by doing it then???!!! Sooooooooo muddled.

I have down regged for 2 weeks and had to wait for AF to come and then they scan you on day 3 of AF to check uterus lining. I now have to down reg until at least 2 Jan.

As for injections I was PETRIFIED. The nurse commented on my horror look!! After I had done the first 4 it has been a breeze, honest. Nothing to worry about kid.

I inject in my tumm. As long as it is below the belly button (reduces scarring apparently) it is fine. Alternate sides each day.

Julie...What a bummer about hols but most people are the same . ..It's the way of the world in these materialistic days... get me i sound like an old woman !!!
Sadly Adam is in work at the moment ( it's Sat night 23rd) he came home for dinner at 4pm and went back at 5pm until 2.30am tomorrow...but he get off christmas eve x mas day and boxing day...then working right up until weekend AFTER 1st Jan so that's the 6th Jan he will be off ......He is high up and under a lot of pressure as this is his 1st year in this job...But things are going well. Hopefully next year we will get New Year off too!!!!
Abnout the womb lining theya are hoping that you willl shed some by then if not thwey will give you a drug to inforce AF then scan you 3 days later...The meds mess up the AF a bit sometimes,. don't worry this can happen. chin up sweetie only a week or so to go until next scan and it will pass quickly.

I have been on the over 40's posts asking for help in locating a EggDonor clinic ( ED) and have been shocked to finde that it can cost a lot ( and i mean a Lot) of money double that of a normal cycle!!!! I suppose that's because you are paying for the drugs and stimming the other woman scanning for donor and eggs for diseases etc...I hate putting a price on pregnancy or a child but if i have to do this more than once i will be worried for our future debt!!! ce la vie i suppose

I am all packed an ready to Rock and Roll tomorrow 10am when adam should !!! be ready to go too. We are going 400miles to Ayr in Scotland for Adams parents Christmas eve...then Christmas day off to my parents for a big family meal. Home boxing day...

I will try and log on but i have friends staying until 5th Jan so will do my best ...
