Woodcliff- Here are links to what I have. Okay, I tried for 20 minutes and can't get the hyperlinks to work. You will have to copy/paste, sorry.

Car seat-
I am happy with them. You can't see it well in the photo, but they are really nice looking, with green and silver. My only complaint is that it's hard to move the handle up and down, you have to squeeze hard.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=5544272

Double stroller-
I love this stroller! It is really great looking. I get lots of compliments. It has the best handle. It is like a single stroller padded handle. Most double strollers have really wide handles that are uncomfortable to steer with. I'm really glad I bought it.
http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Planet-Unity ... 238&sr=8-3

Cribs-
We have two of these cribs. At 4 months I had to separate them because the boys were kicking each other awake. They convert to toddler and regular size beds. I like the natural finish best myself, but it comes with a darker finish. I also have the matching 5 drawer dresser.

Oh, I hope Bodie feels better...glad you got SOME answers as to his problem! How frustrating for your family....

Kim, Kimberly, LauraLou...THANK YOU so much for the detailed information, and personal experience and insight into the products (and, LauraLou, for spending the time to struggle to copy and paste! I appreciate the links)...the time you all took to do that will save ME so much time as I do my purchasing, etc...

I do hear that Twin moms go through lots of strollers...so the info on the ones that work and don't work is great...

I will start my ordering/buying within the next 2 weeks...my goal is to get the room at least 'ordered' by weeks 28-29...I am worried as I read more and more about twin moms going on bedrest...

so far, so healthy with me, but my belly 'tightens' from time to time...ie: shopping tonight (kids didn't like that) or walking up a hill last week...odd sensation, not full on contractions but a tightening sensation that goes away if I lie down...I'm going to have to get used to doing less and less...

Happy, Happy New Year, and again, thank you soooooo much!!!!!

Kimberly--so glad that ET :D got a diagnosis...that's crazy that his antibiotic would cause such turmoil, huh? My DH hates the fact of our kids going on antibiotics (luckily, we haven't crossed that bride yet, knock on wood), and your story justs shows how beneficial AND sometimes detrimental they can be. I hope his meds help soothe his esophogus soon. Hopefully he'll be back to normal real soon. I REALLY do like the Britax car seats. In fact, Ellie was our "test subject" at the store last night. SHe's the more tempermental one, so we figured if she liked the seat, then Braeden would too. She was a fan of the Evenflo triumph DLX BUT she was a real fan of the Britax Roundabout. She just sat in there cooing and chilling for quite a while! We don't want to do the Roundabout though because it only goes up to 40 pounds. The $300 one (marathon, I think?) goes up to 65. The Evenflo goes up to 50, and it also got very good safety reviews by consumer reports, and I found a lot of good parent reviews too (and it's half the price--times 2!). I'm still not sure what i"m going to do. I might try the Evenflo first, and if the kids like it, then we're golden. If not, we'll go britax. The evenflo uses the same "super foam" that Britax uses, so who knows? I hate to seem cheap, but I also don't drive my kids around that much? I'm sure that'll change. I'll let you gals know our decision once we figure it out!

Laura--loved checking out your stroller! That one is very similar to ours. I like how it's skinny enough to fit through store doors. Very handy. Have you figured out the convertible thing yet? I do like the look of your infant seats.

Woodcliff--Kimberly's e-mail reminded me of a few things. We got the Fisher price swing that plugs in (not many out there). Could only find it online at Babies R Us. It's not in the store. We LOVED it! In fact, we still use if from time to time. We originally got 2 Baby Bjorns, but I ended up taking one back because we never even took it out of the box. I definitely used one--for those times when one baby was inconsolible and the other was happy playing. I don't know, maybe you'll need 2? It just depends on your situation. I did like the Bjorn though! As far as high chairs, we're in the midst of an experiment. We got one Evenflo high chair (which I love!) and we got a Recline-n-grow booster seat that attaches to your chairs. The booster is nice because it saves room in your house, but it's a little trickier than the high chair. I might just go get another high chair. Haven't decided yet. As for a jogger stroller, I got the Baby Trend double jogger, and I like it. I do exercise (I'm the opposite of kimberly--I NEED to exercise for my own mental health--plus, the baby weight did not drop off of me as easily as some others). The only downside of this jogger is the front wheel doesn't pivot, so it's hard to turn. It is good at going through grass for festivals/fairs and such. However, if you don't exercise much, then you might want to skip this? I did end up getting two Bumbo seats, and I'm glad I did. We've used them a ton in the past. We still put Braeden in from time to time, but Ellie's thighs are too big now.

Do you have a twins club in your area? If so, you should try to find some members who might be willing to loan/sell you some of the stuff. You could spend way too much if you buy new, and the kids aren't in some of it for very long. Good luck!

woodcliff--Thought you and the girls might be interested in a website: slickdeals.net A friend told me about it, and i just printed off a 15% off coupon from BAbies R Us. The site has different forums with different deals. Might be worth a look for you?

Kim, thank you so much for the detailed information, and for the tip toward the coupon/other items at the store!!!

I am treating this information like gold, printing it out, etc...thank you...

I SO need to work out (although my OB won't let me now)...and plan to start up again with my Personal Trainer and spinning classes and massive walking when I can after the babies are born (I know the weight won't just fall off for me, either!)...I heard, though, that jogger type strollers aren't good for babies till they are one year old? But I see babies in them all the time in my 'hood ... what gives with that news? Something to do with neck muscles...sigh ... too many do's and don'ts!

And I will check out a twins club...I found a woman in my 'hood who has twins, and gets together with twin moms each month...she has been quite sweet...Thank you also for reminding me I do not have to buy everything new! The babies will grow out of things sooooo fast...

Saw my babies today, my OB said I'm fine, his goal for me is 37 weeks, but he said 36 would be fine too...very optimistic, and I'm going with it!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND VERY HAPPY TIMES TO ALL OF YOU!!!!

woodcliff--glad the dr appt went so well!

I've never heard one year on the joggers. I waited until my kilds did have enough neck strength to keep their heads steady in it. I also wasn't "off roading" either...just a smooth bike bath, so they weren't jostled about too much. I think we started using it around 3 months? I know I was a bit on the early side, but they were fine.

Good for you to get a trainer and all that! I used to be a regular at the gym, but these days, not so much. I'm lucky to get to run with my dog most days (when it's warmer the babies will come with me again). Just don't have the time like I used to...

Good Morning mommies!

Woodclif~
Glad to hear that things are going so well for you. Hopefully it will all stay that way for the long haul. Really the time will pass so fast and then the real work begins! :D
As far as weight and joggers go I truly believe that if you simply concentrate on eating healthy and not being a total couch potatoe before and after that the weight will work its way off. It is easier for some but healthy eating and avoiding junk can spare you a ton of time in the gym. The jogger stroller thing I think depends on your stroller. If their is any doubt about neck strength just use a head support. My jogger is so smooth that I cannot imagine it doing a bit of damage. Good luck!

Kim~ Your husband is wise to fear antibiotics. I will NEVER EVER give Bodie one again!!!! We are still trying to get the little guy up to speed and his weight has fallen and his throat is still trying to recover. What an ordeal! In the past I wouldn't have thought too much of it if they had to have it but now I will search out any other form of treatment. Seriously, it has really opened my eyes to what a few doses can do. Scarey!

Hope everyone had a great New Years! We headed to the mountains and just hung out in the cabin. Quiet and a winter wonderland. Then New Years Day I left the babies with DH for a couple hours and went snowmobiling! AGHGHGH!!! Can't believe I left them for the first time ever! DH has a whole new appreciation for me now!

Well, the babes are sleeping so I better something done.
Have a great day!

Kimberly--Glad to hear you had a nice new years! Wow, cabin up in the mountains! You lucky gal! That was seriously your first time leaving the babies with DH? You've been too easy on him...you must do that more often! I usually leave the babies with my DH when I go to the grocery or run short errands. I know he can handle the task, he just doesn't do it as well as mommy! ha ha! My friends in the twins club tell us new mommies to get the daddies used to handling things on their own...I just find it hard at times. Overprotective control freak in me, I guess. Well, for the first time ever (I think! :) ), I have to disagree with you a bit...sorry, no hard feelings. Some of us gals have more trouble with weight than others. Now, not that I have weight issues in any way whatsoever. I've always been pretty fit and trim. BUT BUT, I can eat as healthy as ever and I don't drop weight unless I work out. It's my genetics, I guess. My mom had the same trouble. I hardly dropped weight bfing, and I could eat salads, fish, and veggies until I"m blue in the face and still not drop weight. I wish it worked for me. I'm glad you can avoid the gym...not me. :( (I even worked out during my pregnancy...up through 30 weeks...so I did what I could to keep my weight under control...it's scary I still gained so much!) As for the antibiotics, I think we've all learned a lesson from your little guy--I will also try to avoid them if at all possible. Just hope my doc does too? I'd hate to have to find a new pediatrician over the issue. I hope Bodie makes a full recovery soon.

Oh, we went to Babies R Us tonight and got our car seats! We did end up going with Britax. BUT, we didn't get the $300 one. We ended up with the Roundabout. It's a little less $$$$$ and it got so many rave reviews online. It only goes up to 40 pounds while the more expensive ones go up to 65, but the more expensive ones got some negative reviews that made me second guess it? We were given Evenflo booster seats by a firefighter friend of ours, so once they hit 40 pounds, we'll just use those. I hope I end up liking our decision. The roundabout had the easiest tightening/release mechanism of the ones we looked at---which will be pretty important to me, especially when the kids are rear-facing. I'm going to make DH wait a couple of weeks to put them in....we're buried in snow right now, so I need the convenience of the infant seats right now (plus, I think we're still okay length wise).

You all can chuckle at this vision of me this evening...I got the babies to bed, and then I spent 2 hours steaming veggies, blending them, and freezing them into ice cube trays to make baby food. YES, I'm NUTZ! My doc recommended making my own baby food, and I just laughed at him. But, I thought I"d be a good sport and give it a try. It's definitely less expensive than buying double of everything from Gerber. BUt, it also made for a very messy kitchen. I hope this food will last a while. I made a ton!

Have a good night gals. I'm off to catch some zzzzzzz.....

Good Morning Everyone!

Kim~ Yeah, Dh has is pretty easy around here. Although, to be honest, with the little fella outta sorts lately I haven't wanted to leave him at all. When you're sick you just want your mommy and I know he would be perfectly fine with dh but I just felt the need to be there for him. I think I'm having the seperation anxiety and not the kids!
Also, because of the Bodie being sick I just want to spend every extra second with Anna. She really has taken the grunt of rejection due to his need to be straight up. The funny thing is that Anna has been progressing so much quicker than him now. I swear if she could balance better she would walk away from me any day. She LOVES to stand!!! She can also stand for very long periods of time. It looks hilarious!
Congrats on the new car seat! Car seats excite the heck out of me for some reason! All this talk about yours makes me want to go get ours for the future! Hope they love em'!
No hurt feelings about the weight! :D Weight is such a funny thing. In my pregnanacy I worried so much about not gaining enough. 28 lbs. is so little that I was worried sick but then they were decent sized and healthy. Yeah! Then I thought I would shrivel up to nothing b-feeding twins and I haven't lost one lb!!!!!!!! UGHGHGH! My body simply loves to be 115-118. Nothing I eat or do will change that. I went back down to my weight in 8 days and haven't moved since! The swelling took a few weeks but I'm so disappointed that I'm not thinner. Maybe the gym would help???? Guess I'll never know! Everyone is so different that I guess you just have to know your own body and do what it needs.

Today I have made the executive decision to take Bodie off of all the meds! He only takes one yeast med and a med to coat his throat but it's all making him constiptated and I think it makes his tummy hurt. I shouldn't play Dr. with his health buts my instinct says his body is like mine and very sensitive to drugs. So, we'll see howit goes and if it doesn't go well we have our check up on Tuesday! My fingers are crossed!

Have a great day everyone. I'm off to get something done!

Kimberly--How's Bodie doing? Did going off the meds go okay? I hope he's making a full recovery...I just have to laugh---you went back to your weight in 8 days? You AMAZE me! :) You're like my hero! I'm still about 5-8 pounds off my weight before IVF (I put on a good 10 pounds going on all those meds...yikes!) But, good news is, I CAN fit into my prepreggo jeans. Of course, I don't like the rolls that hang over the side. But, I'll deal with those later! ha ha!

I had a very rough night last night. First off, I stayed up late to watch that BLEEPIN National Championship football game. Why did I bother? My Buckeyes were defeated again. Then, Braeden (who has a cold) woke up EVERY HALF HOUR LAST NIGHT!!! Oh, Calgon, take me away! I've done everything possible to make him more comfy....we had the vaporizer going, and he had his vapo rub, and he even had one of those VICKS plug ins that put a soothing smell in the air to open up his nose. Well, no dice, kiddos...he was up all night, so I am VERY TIRED. :? I hope hope hope that tonight's a better night.

Glad to see some Twinreporting again! It made me think there were some rough times out there!

Kim~ So sorry to hear about Braeden! Every half hour!!! What a killer! I'd be at my wits end by this time this morning! Have you tried the aspirator? I just recently learned that you have to plug the other side when using it which made me feel retarded to say the least but it works like crazy when used properly! Hope he is on the mend soon. Let me know how your next night goes and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Let's see. . . Dh had a MASSIVE cold at our house and I am hoping that we avoid it like the plague! Bodie is already getting a little stuffy but I'm still very hopeful in keeing it away from us three! They have their 4 month check up today so we'll see how they are both doing. Bodie is hit and miss. He was doing great and then the weekend was hard on him. I'm trying to be patient and just give him more time to heal off the meds.
At least we are all getting great sleep now days. Annelise goes 12-13 hours and Bodie is up once or twice a night still. He had been eating more to try play catch up. I'll report back later if it's working!

Pretty uneventful other than that. I hope all is well for everyone out there! I miss hearing about everyone.

Take care and I'll report more later!

Yeah, Kimberly...gals must be too busy these days. I guess it's just you and me for now! I hope the others can check in occassionally.

Wow, 12 or 13 hours for Anna? You go girl! THat's awesome! I thought mine were doing good with 10. Now, if only Bodie can help you out a bit more! Hope your checkup went okay. He's gotta get better soon, right? Good luck avoiding the cold. I can never manage to avoid it with the kids. Although, this time, everyone in my house (including my dad who comes to babysit) except for ME has gotten this cold. I'm knocking on wood right now...DH and Braeden got it much worse than Ellie. I'm hoping Braeden clears up soon, cause I need sleep. :? Oh, as for the aspirator, I learned that a little late too! It works much better that way. Too bad my kids scream bloody murder if they see me lift the thing! So, I rarely try it anymore--only if it's really really bad. I've considered getting the Nose Frieda (the nasty one you actually suck on?) cause I hear it's not as invasive, but I have a feeling my kids will fight that as well. Tonight I'll give the kids a Johnson's vapor bath, and hopefully, that will help Braeden a little better? Keep your fingers crossed!

Hi all

Just want to let you know I am lurking and reading all the posts :D

We are very busy at the moment. We are moving 800km away so am very busy packing. I have a uni assignment due on the 2nd Feb and an exam on the 16th Feb. As you can guess I am prioritising everything!

I will be back on board after the move which is the 20th Jan.

Hope the babies and mummies are feeling better soon. My two are great and Harry has just started to roll from tummy to back - woohoo. He is also saying Dar Dar. They are still a handful  For those who are feeding their babies solids - when did you start the second feed. My babies are having a solid feed at 5.30pm and I thought I would start the next one in the morning, after we move.

I love reading everyones post to see how the babies are progressing. Nice to have some people who have twins around the same age as mine. Thanks girls for your input :D

Must go babies are calling!

Hey Ladies~

glad to see you Diane! Sounds like you are so busy!!! Good luck with everything and I hope the move is a smooth one. Hug the little ones for me.

Today has been a rough day and although I am not ready to talk about it I just ask that our little guy be in your thoughts and prayers. I don't mean to scare anyone and I'm sure everything will turn out fine but right now we just need some positive thoughts. Don't entertain the negative! This has been my mantra throughout life and I better listen to my own words of advice.

Thanks everyone for always being so sweet!
Talk to everyone soon~

Kimberly...you've made me nervous. I hope all's okay. I'm sending Bodie positive buckeye vibes right now.

Di, you poor thing! I can't imagine taking classes, moving, and being a mom of twins...wishing you lots of luck right now! Yeah, Harry's rolling! It's so fun to watch them roll around. Ellie's rolls all the time. Braeden's just starting to be interested. As for food, we just do what our pediatrician told us (so not sure how "normal" this is, but it seems to work for us) I give the kids a bottle and oatmeal in the morning. Then for lunch they get some veggies, a bottle, and a little meat. Then, late afternoon (around 3:30 or 4?) we do another bottle and veggies/fruit. Then at dinner, they get a bottle, oatmeal and some fruit. (Sometimes, I give them some tastes of what we're eating too, if it's okay.) They still tend to eat every 3 or 4 hours. I was hoping they'd spread that out a little more soon . I was also hoping to drop a bottle soon too, but no such luck yet. Good luck to you!
