Karling We did PGD too. I wanted to tell you about my experience incase it may help you make a decision. I had 17 follies removed at my ER. 16 of them were mature. 13 of them fertilized. After PDG we had 4 embies left. So out of 13, 9 were bad. I was so surprised that so many of the eggs were bad. They told me that since you produce so many follies in such an unnatural way, that they just aren't the best quality. And 1 of my 4 is graded AC which isn't the best either, but we may need it if it comes down to it.
I had 1 5AA, embie transferred in August which resulted in a chemical pregnancy. We are putting in 1 frosty in October. We have 2 kids and don't want twins, so we only do 1 at a time.
PGD is so expensive so if you can do as many eggs as possible in 1 attempt, I would. Meaning freeze now and add fresh later for a big batch because your number may drop a lot.

AFM...AF finally showed up. I guess. I barely have anything. But I went for baseline u/s and b/w today and so far all looks good. Lining is thin and all is suppressed. So I guess I am still on here for Oct 17th. I asked about moving my beta up since I have a 13 day wait, but they would prefer to keep it there for a definitive answer. She said going in earlier may result in more checks and not a true picture of things. So I guess I am still on for Oct 30th. Hopefully I will have a Happy Halloween!!!

ER scheduled

Post by miyaya »

Hi girls. Just got my call. ER is scheduled for Monday. U/s shows 20 measurabel follies. E2 is 1100. I am to continue gonal f225 units tonight with 5 units lurpon. I trigger tomorrow.

I was a little shocked that they are triggering so soon. Doesn't my e2 sound a bit low....like there is only 5 mature??? Give or take???

Wow - I need to stop getting ahead of myself! I was thinking this morning that I wont know how to add a ticker! perhaps I should get through the ER first? he he

karling This entire process is the biggest roller coaster! Just get strapped in & hold on! Glad you & your little guy are feeling better!

shelby -you're doing great! just a few more days now!

sangria -Sending you lots of dividing dust! Did they call yet?

miyaya -If you're on an antagonist protocol, your E2 can come up as a false low, they pay closer attention to follie size / growth! GL to you!

michele -UH OH! the POAS addict is loose again! Love the simpsons!

lisa -Hooray for moving right along! Better to have your beta on Halloween that April's Fools' Day!

hugs & PMA to all of us! xoxo

Karling - eh...hmmm.. (clearing throat): 'WHEN you get pregnant' is what that sentence should have said  . I think any number of us would get upset if we broke a nail at certain times in this process so don't worry about that. However, I do wish the person @ the lab wouldn't have given you #. Sometimes we get so focused on #'s that it's heartbreaking when it shouldn't be. For instance, on my last u/s before ER I wanted to know how many follies I had. When I counted them up there were about 26. So I was expecting at least 20-22 eggs. When they told me I had just 14 retrieved, my heart sank. BUT I ended up with 2 to transfer and 2 to freeze so that was perfect. You're only on day 3 of stims, right? You've still got plenty of time for more to pop up....and they will! I'll send you a jar of homemade salsa if you don't have at least 15 on your next u/s  (and don't think I won't!) You just give me the number!

Miyaya - you still have a great number of follies with a few days and a trigger to go. That will help. Don't fret. Like I said before, that formula is not exact. You're going to have plenty of little eggies!

Katie
- Just a few more days for you, too!! :D

AFM
- I'm tired of sitting on the couch! I'm going to try and see if DH will take me out to eat or at least to Wal-Mart to get out of the house! Heck, I'd even be willing to ride around in one of the motorized wheelchairs they have!

shelby - you are lucky that they allowed you to stay on the couch. I had to stay in bed and was not allowed to sit up straight or even shower for 3.5 days. I wonder if the couch still sounds that bad

Hello Ladies - I'm a little down, not bad, just a little. Even though we started with higher meds this cycle, I'm still responding slowly. After 6 days of stims, my largest follie is only at 11. I was hoping for the ER on Monday, but it's going to be more like Thursday or Friday of next week. *sigh* I'm already feeling bloated, and I can't imagine how I'm going to feel by late next week. Anyway, I'm trying to have PMA, but it's a little disappointing.

My irritation level is doing okay. Most of my visiting family is gone, but my sister and 2 nephews are still here, which is pretty fun. I'm trying to relax. I left my sister watching Grey's Anatomy on the couch (she's super happy about it) and told her that I have to go catch up on my message board! :D

sangria - We'll pray that those 4 embies just keep on growing!!

kristy - It's so exciting to see and hear the heartbeat. Congrats!!

katie - I'm super jealous of your quick stimming!!! You definitely deserve it this time! You can take that pamphlet from the nurse and shove it back at her. Whew-hew!!!!

shelby - 2 frosties!!!

kala - SOOOOOOOOO glad that you made it ok to Serbia. And even better that you made it with your spermies in tow. Keep us updated!

rayofsunshine - I am so sorry your cycle was cancelled again. We'll pray that the IUI will work for you and you won't need to have the conversation.

karling - Glad to see that you're still around. It's really hard to have expectations and then when they're not met, it's devestating. Just remember that it was only your first scan, and many follies can still pop up.

Lisa – can I ask what you did PGD for? Thank you so much for sharing your story with me, it gives me a lot to think about. Sometimes I hate talking number because we could have all of them implant, all of them grow, all of them make it passed biopsy, all of them be disease free, all of them be grade A. Or the opposite. My husband is big on statistics but it is hard to think that way when we are dealing with 10 things vs 1000. I really hope this is your lucky frostie.

Shelby – Right – When I get pregnant. =) My next U/S is on Sunday. I will let you know right away. I hope you don’t have to send the salsa…. Even though homemade salsa sounds AMAZING right now. I didn’t even think about more popping up. You are always so hopefull.

Katie – good for you to think about adding your ticker!!! It won’t be long.

J&C – my ER is on Friday so we are in this together, I am feeling a bit bloated today too and the spots where my shots have been going are all welty and red. Ouchers just one more week. Then we have huge needles that will be stuck in our butt to look forward to.

Just finished watching my DRVd Greys and bawled. I love being caught up in other peoples made up drama. OK off to get ready for Dave! Should be interesting shooting up in the parking lot before he concert- My arms even have bruises on them where they took blood from me the last few times at the clinic. Not the best look. =)

Hi Ladies! Im still doing my Lupron..I thought I'll be used to the needles, but nope! This morning, my damn husband got me so annoyed...he wasted like 3 needles because he said he kept seeing air bubbles in them! Is it that serious? And for some reason, this shot hurt than the 1st two. I know I will definetly die when it comes to the bum shots... how much longer will this take..

J&C - just hang in there. If it is rushed the eggs might not have enough time to get strong. Most of our eggs didn't make it to be frozen so I wonder if one more day might have been the solution. I wish you lots of nice strong growing follies

rayofsunshine - praying for your IUI. I didn't even know that you can switch kinda mid-way.

Just on a side note, but our RE-clinic is open 7days/week so they do the beta (and everything else) also on the weekend - means no pushing :-)
I've been there a couple of sunday's already.

Kiwi and Shelby- I am shocked at the amount of restriction your on. My RE said to take the 24hrs following ET as a "snow day," meaning movies and books, nothing strenuous. It actually even says on the take home sheet that strict bed rest is NOT recommended. And I was told I could shower whenever, just no bathing or swimming. I guess all clinics are different.

Hi Ladies!

Sorry I have been MIA the last couple of days. I was super busy at work the last few days and today we had an institute day (staff meetings all day) so I didn't have computer access . I have been dying to catch up with all of you! I don't think I can keep up with all the personals from the last 3 days. I am thinking of all of you.

rayofsunshine - so sorry for your canceled cycle.

malya - my progesterone went down too. I was at 21.4 and now I'm down to 12.4! I now have to do daily PIO injections (I hadn't been taken off my progesterone)

shelby - yay for frosties!

good luck to all those with ER coming up and those who are in the 2ww I am sending sticky sticky baby dust. good follie growing dust to those who need it too! I am so sorry that I am not caught up from a 3 day absence.

AFM, My beta today at 13dp5dt is 1090 which is fantastic. BUT, my progesterone dropped to 12.4 from 21.4  I was not taken off my progesterone support so now I have to up my meds. I now have to do PIO injections everyday and suppositories 3 times a day. I am so nervous. I didn't actually have to go in for a 3rd beta but I asked to and I am glad I did. If I hadn't asked we wouldn't know my level was low. I don't know how I'm going to do the daily PIO injections. My dh has always given them to me but now that they need to be done everyday he won't always been around since he works 24 hour shifts at the fire house every 3rd day. Does anyone know much about progesterone levels? My u/s is scheduled for next thursday.

I'm thinking of all of you and sending positive thoughts!!

Hello IVF sisters! It's been a busy week this week so I've been MIA too the last few days. The last time I was on here ther were 64 pages now...7O something...it's impossible to keep up!

Rayofsunshine I was sad to see your cycle got cancelled, I'm so sorry. Good luck with your IUI...it's not all over yet, PMA and ((hugs)) to you.

J&C- stay positive-hopefully those stims will kick in and your follies will start growing like a wildfire. I think my follie size was about the same as yours after 6 days of stims and I just got word that we are doing ER Sunday so it ain't a thang honey! PMA grow follies grow!

Wolffie- good to hear your doing well and good call on the 3rd beta! There's nothing like a woman's intuition!

More to come in a few mins...must go back and read previous pages!
