Hi girls...
My apologies again for not having enough time in the day to keep up with this board. It would probably take me close to 2 hrs to sit down at this point and catch up...so I'll just do another quick update and get myself to bed. I'll have lots more time to catch up after tomorrow. I hope everyone is doing well.

My egg retrieval is tomorrow morning and I have to be there at 6:30am...which means with the icy roads and needing to drop Zach at my brothers...we are leaving here at 4:30am. I'm pretty excited about how things are going this cycle. My doctor called me personally this afternoon, from his cell, I think...to tell me how happy he is with this cycle...and how disappointed he is that he wont be the one doing my retrieval, but will be there for my transfer on Sunday. He went on to tell me that things look really promising with this new protocol and that he spoke to the other doc in depth about my case and my shy right ovary and how to proceed to get the most eggs possible from me. He said that this doc is really good and that he has worked with him in the past (my doc recently moved back to his old clinic) and knows that he is a go getter and will do everything possible to not leave any behind at all. This made me feel soooo good. He's the best, he really is. The only concern I have at this point is that my E2 level was only a 915 on Tuesday at trigger. This is extremely low for me. I am usually around 1400-1700. The doc thinks it is due to the Clomid making it seem low...but that the follicles are mature and fine. I'm going to ask Ghost.

I'll check in tomorrow evening and try to catch up then. Love to all! xoxo

Samantha: Getting DH a doctor’s jacket is a cute idea. Good luck with stimming and with SnS on Friday!

Anton: Hide from you? How could that be possible?!?! I will be in my 2ww the beginning of March and will be right there with you! And your house parties sound nice...when are you going to invite all of us I love cheesecake...mmmmm... 8)

Carol: 3 + mysterious # on the left. I will be praying the Left is full of follies. Image 2 more days of stimming--can’t wait to hear how it goes. GROW and GROW follies. And you are NOT old!! No where near it!!! Your studly DH would agree as well I am certain. And get your self to Europe if you haven’t already been. WITH hot young hubby and baby in tow, my dear. That is the perfect plan. 8)

Leora: Do I like corn? Not much anymore. LOL. What I really didn’t like is the cold...brrr...hate it...that is why I am living in the warmer region now. And I like the idea of watching some comedy after ET...except...as I recall “PEEING” was number one on my mind at that point...laughter and holding in pee....not the best combination. HA..HA...I wrote that before I got to the bottom of your post. Great minds think alike. Clearly. ;-) Regarding the timing of meds. I was actually worrying about that since I will be crossing a few time zones in the middle of my stimming. I asked the nurse last night and she said not to fret so much...just slowly back it up when I come out. So, I think an hour or so for you either way should be fine.

Lou: Thanks for the feedback on the AFC...and no. The crazy labs still haven’t found their way to CA. Ugh. Nurse called today and said no worries, but I don’t know what the problem is. Gotta get this kink worked out. 22 inches of snow...brrrrr.....Hoping that nausea and gagging is a good sign and not the Estrogen. 2/4 sounds like a GREAT day for a BFP. :D :D

Kerri: Sorry you are feeling so terrible. Rest yourself....stim...stim...stim and let those follies grow.

Sunshine: Sorry you are getting hit so hard too. A week off sounds like a great plan. Great way to start your 2ww for your BFP!!!

Kristin: Good luck with 3rd beta tomorrow. Sending your vibes to get a great rise. No, not packed yet...but I am overcome with excitement!! I know once they send me my protocol it will really feel real.

Tammy: How are you doing? Are you triggered?!?!

Sherry: Good luck tomorrow with ER!! Let us know how it goes.

Hope: How are you feeling? All go ok? Rest up and let those embies snuggle in to momma!! I am so happy for you.

And Lauren, Tiger...the..Image

AFM: Still no lab report to CA! How nutty...I went to a 24 hr lab at a hospital and they can’t get my E2 levels, etc to CA?! Dh’s labs did...great....as if we didn’t know he still doesn’t have any STD’s, etc. How horrible would that be? Could you imagine the poor nurse that would have to tell someone their spouse was unfaithful right at the beginning of IVF cycle!? Gulp. Anyway, nurse was fine and said they’ll call me tomorrow when they get them and give me my protocol. Starting to look at reservations and hotels, etc but need to wait...hard to be patient!!!

Margi - I am so excited for your Cali baby making trip!! I hope the lab works out their report transferring kinks asap!

Tammy - Good luck tomorrow! 4:30 am yikes!

Lou - I saw Chicago on the news and it looked horrible. It's very icy out here now. I can't wait for your Friday beta!

AFM - my RE cancelled my WTF appt that I was going to cancel. He had to go to surgery today or something. The nurse said she would try to get me in next Wednesday if he finishes his surgeries early that day. If I get AF then I am not in a rush to go see him. They can send prior approval for IVF and when it comes back we can talk. I am not looking forward to the icy drive tomorrow. I work down the street, but I have to drive my furrbabies to Nanas house. Dh went to work at 5 and doesn't get out til 5:00PM tomorrow. My spoiled dogs can't stay home all day alone. I can't POAS until I buy som sticks to po lol! I did not leave the house today. I will have to get some tomorrow.

Lou - good luck on friday! keeping my fingers crossed for you! gagging - i dont know - i think that's a very good sign!!! are you sure estrogen gives you gagging? i thought only high HCG does....

Anton - i was on antagonist protocol 2 years ago. i loved it! its short and sweet!!! just BCPs followed by stims and ganerelix to keep the eggs from ovulating until trigger time. Good luck!

AFM - just taking my double dose of menopur and half dose of follistim. my next US in on friday. definitely starting to feel things.... my ER is likely to be 2nd half of next week - probably thursday. but that's just me guessing at this point.

Carol- I think about my twins every day. They would be about a year old.... I moved to Israel after I met and married an Israeli guy in college. David was born in CA, but moved to Israel when he was 10. He came back to the USA for college and we met freshman year. On our first date (which was my first date ever!), he said that he wanted to live in Israel and if I wasn't interested, we shouldn't date. I was 17, a freshman and this was my first date. I wanted things to go well! So I said that I would love to live in Israel (big fat lie!)... 7 years later.... here I am! When it became serious, he figured out that I had been lying on our first date about wanting to live in Israel, but we compromised that we would try. We've been here almost 4 years and it's great so far. I picked up the Hebrew really fast and we made a ton of friends. The free IVF is also a consideration now! :D

Lauren- thanks for answering my question. but now, instead on injecting an hour later, I have errands to run after work and it would be more like 4-5 hours late --- so I just brought my meds to work. It's a little icky to stick myself here, but I'll be okay!

Lou - Fingers crossed SUPER tight for your BFP tomorrow! Will you still be able to get the blood test in the snow?

Kerri - I think the Russian is spam - just ignore it. Feel better!

sunshine 12 - you feel better too!

Kristin - thanks for the encouragement! I really hope the social worker likes us! This is like a super intimidating first date/job interview! :D

Tammy - good luck at your ER today! I'm so excited for you! I'm confused about the time difference though - sorry! ER is Thurs or Fri?

Margi - Great minds clearly *do* think alike! That whole 'humor' idea just had me thinking about how much I just have to PEE after the ET. I usually bring a book, but end up spending the time counting down the seconds until I can pee! btw, we had to get tested for every STD in the world and HIV before we started the IVF.... I was so nervous that we would actually have something! DH donates blood all the time, so I kept freaking out that if he got HIV from some bad needle that we would both have it! Totally unfounded fears - I'm glad y'all are both clean!

LYD10 - we'll be really close! I'm guessing that my ER will be early the week after (Feb 14 or thereabouts)... I'm still on my first few days of Menopur, so I don't know yet. I'll know more after my S&S on Sunday.

AFM - feeling a bit better today. I slept in late (9am) and got to work late. Oh well! no one seemed to notice! I freaked out about taking my meds at different times, so I'll just take them at work at 3pm today. Crazy obsessive, I know, but I can't help it!

no hot water this morning, so no shower.... I'm glad my cubicle buddy is out sick! Damn overcast weather is getting on my nerves (everyone here in Israel has solar hot water heaters- when it rains for a few days in a row, there isn't any hot water. My in-laws have a special electric back up one... so either a cold shower tonight or a hot one at my in-laws!)

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking up on me. Sorry I didn't get a chance to log on earlier.. I was exhausted after my transfer and took a looong nap. Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do, but in the meantime, just wanted to give you an update.

We transferred 2 5-day blasts this morning! The first one, the RE said was a "textbook quality" embryo.. 100-120 cells. The second one was not as great, but still "good" at 80-100 cells. Here are our beautiful embies that got transferred. Image

The embryologist will call us tomorrow to let us know how many can make it to freeze.. they're guessing maybe 1, possibly 2. For now, I'm just resting in bed. Only have gotten up to pee and brush my teeth, otherwise enjoying all the pampering from DH. :) I'm going to milk this for as long as I can :P

Lou - Good luck tomorrow!! I hope the nautious feeling is morning sickness. :) I'll be praying for you.

For this month we will just try naturally. I cannot jump right back in. I thought I could until I got this nasty AF which made me realize I need to give my body a break. I will talk with my doctor on 2/7 & that will help with what we do in the future. I really hated the IVF & I am not sure I can do it again. Since our chances are so low, I want to speak with him about how much difference there are in chances between IVF & IUI. In our process we never gave IUI a shot, we just jumped straight to the IVF. I suppose I may try IVF one more time if he can give me some promising answers, but if not I really don't want to do it. I applaud everyone here for being able to continue on. Much stronger than me.

I can't believe you were able to make it to work yesterday. It took us hours to dig out! It's time to get out of here & go some place warm! :)

Leora - I like your new signature. :) Hope that rain stops so you can get some warm water.

Hope... I love the pic.. big brother and little sister! :D

Tammy...good luck on ER! I hope they get a bunch to choose from!

Leora... love the story... the things we do for love, huh? I'm sure Israel must be an interesting place and even if you choose not to spend the rest of your days there, the free IVF is an awesome advantage, plus being able to tell your children some day where they were conceived. I'm sure the solar water heaters can be discouraging on cloudy days, but I wish the US would catch up with other countries when it came to renewable energy sources. I have been designing a fully sustainable house for the last few years that DH and I hope to build some day on his father's land. It has been in his family for 200 years. I studied sustainable design in college and would love to see more homes using it.

Lauren, how many days past IUI are you?

Margi... Europe is waiting for me... one of these days. Our family did a cross-country trip in '08 - traveling from Atlantic coast to Pacific and up through mid-west states - 23 states in 21 days.... promoting organ donation. Now I want to go to another continent... but for a longer time. I can't wait! And what is wrong with those lab results? Still nothing?

hi ladies! :)

HopeisallIhave-OMG!!!! :o those embies of yours look beautiful! Bravo girl!!!you should feel proud & big time PUPO! :D I so wish they grow to babies! lots of baby dust for you!!

Cjinc-Don't worry. think positive and everything will be fine. u/s on Friday sounds good! i wish you lots & lots of follies. Don't you know that IVF is a gambling "game" its self! you can never be sure of the outcome. you just go with the odds and hopping for the best...a BFP! btw, it doesn't matter how old you realy are but how old you feel you are!

Leona-i love modern family too! :D me and my DH we are sitcom addicted! our favourite is Dexter then House MD, Mad Men, The Wire, etc. especially on my 2ww i always watch a series. on my 1st IVF i watched Friends all over again and I loved it! :D ...i am sorry about your DH too! besides our age difference that you and I have our infertility "issues" are similar (MF) Iam realy realy sorry about your m/s's but at least you know you can get pregnant. even having this severe sperm issue. I dont know if i can even get pregnant :( ...about your ET story...besides my 1st IVF ET where I was awake, the rest I get a minor sedation. on my 1st ET my bladder wasn't full enough so they had to pour water inside me (yikes!!!) and then I was so into peeing and felt so so bad i wanted to burst right there! from that time on I am asking in advance for a minor sedation. so i just go in the room ready to pee, i say hello to my embies & then I say a joke we all laugh, I kiss my DH and say good night to everybody, then I wake up feeling perfect with the embies inside me :D no problemo! actualy Iam looking forward to ET and sedation now! i am a sedation junky now! ...i love your siggy and i love the picnic.com site you recomended!! hey girl! you are going to be a mommy soon! i am sure of that! get ready to be a PUPO and then prego!!! i am sending lots of baby dust to jerusalem!!! open your door to get it inside your house!! :D

Lauren-my OB/GYN he told me right from the begining that the timing is important for those shots. an 1hr up and down from your base time is no problem.

Lou-I know exactly how you feel about being terifyed! all of us on this board been there! just dont loose your hope and the BFP is just around the corner! :D

Kerri-I hope your ER is soon enough! hang in there with the pain! can you please tell me more on the antagonist protocol? how the 2 weeks work? thxs! :)

Sunshine-Yes! this is what you should od! take a week off to rest and relax! its going to help implantation big time! the while 2weeks are important but especially the first 5 days. 9 follies are very good dont worry!...thank you for not finding my posts too long!!! thats a relief! ...cooking makes you more creative and I want creativity in my life :D

Tammy-Your doctor sounds very professional and sweet. calling you was the right think to do as your doctor. all sounds good for you girl! :D Good luck with yur ER!

Margi-I have already invited all of you! in a previous post. i wrote that you are all welcome to come in Cyprus. I will be waiting for you all at the airport holding my cheesecake!  i see your stiming goes well ! your California baby is waiting for you! pack your bags!

LYD-thanks for the info! my RE told me that he doesn't like giving BCP's to his patience so I dont know how he is going to do it   good luck with your stimming and ER!

Kristin-Good luck with your beta tommorrow! :D

AMF: i went in for my 3rd and last embolio shot this morning. i think someone asked me about this shot so...my DH did a DNA test and it seems that some of my genes or gene are the same as my DH. so when tranfering the embies in my uterus, my uterus doesn't recognised them as friendly and becomes hostile and so expell them. sounds bad and scary :? ..well he told us that since there is no other explanation why none of the IVF cycles worked he thought to give this a shot. this might be the reason why I am getting all those BFN so far! Well we are going to have a blood test in 3 weeks (it needs this long to realy get into my blood) and on the 28th Feb i have the RE appt to tell us the results and start the protocol. good news is that my period is going to visit me on the 3rd of Feb (like today 8) I am very precise on getting my period. same date every month) and we are starting stiming 2nd-3rd day of my period. that's what the nurse told me today. my RE was busy with appts to see me. well, so far so good :D i hope my blood test result come pout clean with this gene....funny thing, having the same gene as my DH mabe that why we get along so good

Sorry if i left anyone behind! bay dust to all!! :D

Tammy - good luck! Don't get stuck in the snow!

Ashley (Hope) - yay! Congrats on being PUPO!

Darlene- I hope you find something that works for you. I also hate the IVF - I think we all do - finding the courage to stop is sometimes harder than doing it again...

Carol- Israel is actually really good about solar power (since we get so much sun here) and water conservation (since we have so little)

AFM - BIG BAD FUCKING NEWS. I just got laid off. Seriously. Worked there 2.5 years and was told to pack my stuff, leave and not come back. Great. It wasn't the best job, and the only reason I stayed was because I didn't have enough energy to do the IVF *and* look for a new job. My boss was fired 4 months ago and I was given her job. I wasn't fired for anything I did/didn't do --- In Sept, more than 50 people worked there. But the end of October, just 29 people worked there. They want to be down to 20 people by the end of Feb - I'm justthe first of nine to be laid off.... But this sucks.
Money wise we'll be okay - I get paid this month's salary as well as an additional 2.5 months salary (since I worked there 2.5 years). Then I qualify for unemployment. There is no hurry to get a new job - but now I'm worried that if I get pregnant, I won't be able to! There is completely fully paid 3 months maternity leave here, which I was really looking forward to, which means that NO ONE hires pregnant women. .... We'll see - this isn't the worst thing that could happen - but it's not good.

Any advice on what to tell the social worker we meet with on Monday? I'm sure 'unemployed' is not a good thing for a potential adoptive parent, but I was *just* laid off....

leora - may be this is a good news in disguise..this way you can relax and do your ivf cycle stress free. and as soon as you get your bfp, you can start looking for new job. if you get one in first trimester, you don't have to tell your employer that you are pregnant, right?

you can tell your social worker that you are quitting the current job for better career prospect.
