wolffie - you should take your butt and the shot to your DH at the fire house. My DH has meetings late so I put the vile in my bra about an hour before shot time, I bring the needles, wash cloth and swabs with me and we do it in his office. If DH is really not available, like next week my DH has a confrence so my friend the nurse is going to do it for me, but its not what I would love.
-The protocal for my PIO shot make the shot much easier to take
1. put the vile of progesterone in your bra an hour before the shot.
2. get a wash cloth and run it under hot water (in an office you can usually find a water cooler with a hot side)apply it to the shot site to warm your muscle.
3. pinch skin at shot site
4. after injection wait a few seconds before pulling out the needle (you will get less leakage)
5. rub the area with the warm washcloth to prevent lumps. about 2 mins
*if you get lumps or soreness rub out with warm wash cloth
Hope that helps all, I find the shot less icky then the supositories but I follow these things every time.

Karling- Sounds like you had a pretty tough day...I wouldn't fret about the small # of follies just yet. I think mine were about the same number as yours in the begining and the Dr. said today he thought he could get 15 good sized ones from me in a few days so there is still plenty of time- grow follies grow!

Katie99- I was on Menopur and Bravelle...150ml's each! and my follies are lookin good too so I am definately a fan of Menopur! GL and best wishes to your growing follies!

AFM-whew crazy last few days and it's gonna get crazier in the next few days too...I had my last u/s today! and ER is scheduled for this Sunday. The Dr. said I had 20-25 follicles total but he thought he could get about 15 more mature ones..that's good right!? He said my lining is at 12 which is higher than it needs to be right now so he was really happy with that! I trigger tonight at 10:30. Yay!

You guys will laugh at this...the camera crew was there for my appt. today and they filmed us waiting in the waiting room, then walking back to the u/s room...then THEY FILMED MY U/S! WTH! I could have said no but I didn't...there were 2 camera men in there while I was spread eagle with my feet in stirrups Of course they did not film my whooha but it was bit embarassing...oh well. Funny huh?

miyaya -down reg is also called long lupron. antagonist has no lupron at all, ganirelix is used instead. Did you ask what they thought about your E2 levels? some people just run low, I know that I do. Good luck with ER on monday!

kiwi -Your RE is so strict on bed rest! Glad you survived that!

j & c -On day 6 my follies were at 13 & 11. Two days later they jumped to 17 & 18. I have high hopes for your next appt! I'm so nervous that tomorrow (day10) they'll be too big! although if that happens, I wont be held responsible for how bad I freak at the clinic! I have no idea why this time they're cooperating

ivf#3 cancelled day 15! I didnt know you could stim that long, dominant follie
ivf#4 looks like 10 day stim - weird huh?
anyway my point was that yours ARE growing! and maturing! I'll bet yours are picking up speed right now! Sending you loads of PMA!!

Ugh, Now I am a bit worried they are doing ER too early. I had 19 measurable follies on scan on friday but with an e2 of only 1099 it looks like they were not mature enough. Do you think last nights stims and HCG shot tonight will beef em up enough to get a good harvest?

Interesting b/c yesterday I was really bloated and kinda sore....today nothing....Makes me nervous we did not have more blood work today. I hope its just b/c they told em to start drinking gatorade and eating detour bars.....they said they help with OHSS.

I hate that the RE is on Boston and I am in Maine. I get all my monitoring done in Maine...I always am afraid of some "disconnect".

J & C~ What was your e2 level? On day 6 of stims for me I only measured 5 follies...the largest being 11. My E2 was 343. I went back on Friday (day 10 of stims) and I had 19 measurable follies and E2 was 1099. They scheduled my ER on Monday however I am a bit concerned my E2 is low. Plus I was a bit aggrevated with the nurse who called me...she had no details on the size of my follicles.

Miyaya - Don't fret, Dear. This cycle, my E2 level was raised by 1200 in 2 days!!! the hCG helps mature the remaining follicles. So by Monday you could have an E2 level of over 2000! Just relax and start thinking of baby names....you're gonna need 'em

thanks Shelby.....its funny b/c I thought after I had my son, if we ever went through IF again, I would be so relaxed...and if it happened it happened...i figured I would not be greedy....I had my miracle. That is NOT the case....I am just as involved this time...and still just as neurotic....luckily the baby names are picked out....unless we have twin girls....then I have to come up with a second name....but first steps first.....BFP's for everyone!

Miyaya- I thought I would feel the same way as you, second ivf, not so bad because I was already blessed, but I think I took my bfn after my dd harder than I would have before, only because I could envision what would happen if I got a bfp. Before dd, I didn't know what i was missing. And of course it means more to me now too because I want this more for dd than I even do for myself, I just don't want her to be an only child.

Moore- Good luck, we will all be anxiously waiting for your news. You are so lucky they do beta's on saturdays, my clinic bumped me to the following monday.

Today I am 4dp3dt, and up to this point it has been moving fast, but I know it is going to crawl now. Yesterday I was home without dh for the entire day (he works a double, 9am-10pm) and when ella was nighttime napping, I started looking for my 20 hpt strips that i had and I couldn't find them! I called dh and was like, "Not that I am planning on doing anything with them...but do you know where the pregnancy strips are?" We bought them back in June when we were supposed to have our first FET. He said, "You're crazy, it is way too early." Well, I found them, they fell behind a cabinet, but I held out and didn't do any....yet. According to charts, implantation occurs from today until tuesday, so I will be analyzing all twinges throughout the weekend, and will probably start poas soon.

Tonight I am off to a friends bachelorette party. They rented a beach house for the day/night and are going to hang there, have some drinks and food. Of course I can't partake in the beverage drinking, but it will be nice to hang out, of course ivf will still be on my mind b/c they all know and will be asking. Her wedding is in 2 weeks, just 6 days after my beta. With my bfn in april, I was miserable for weeks, so I really hope that doesn't happen this time...but if it does, at least I will have a 5 hour open bar to drown my sorrows in. But of course I would much rather be sharing my wonderful news with all of my friends instead.

CT~I know what you mean. Its true,, before you have no idea how a child will fill your heart. You know you want it dearly but then they come to this world and everything is right...it just makes you want more and to give them the experience of a sibling. That is so how I feel. I cannot imagine getting a BFN after everything. I know it happens and I need to prepare for it....was your BFN in April a FET?

Good luck in the wait....maybe the bachelorette party will be a good distraction. I hope its only good news in a few days:)

malya - Thanks for the advice! I just couldn't bring myself to do it last night. I spoke with the IVF nurse and she said that it doesn't actually have to be given at the same time each day. What a relief b/c now my dh can give me the injection either in the morning or at night. So everything should work out. Thanks for your advice though!

sancap - Yay for ER!!! It sounds like you will have lots of eggies! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow! SO funny about the camera men in the room for your u/s!

miyaya - the hcg trigger will help to mature your follies. don't worry, everything will work out. I felt the same way about this cycle after having my son. I figured we would give it a shot and if it worked great. BUT, once we got started I felt like I was more anxious and nervous about this cycle than my first.

Michele - I began POAS 4dp5dt and POAS twice a day everyday until my second beta! Michele - the bachelorette party sounds like so much fun! enjoy yourself!!

Miyaya- yes, you described it perfectly. I even tear up thinking about the day I gave birth to dd, I could have never imagined how wonderful that day was going to be, which is why it is hard to think about never having that experience again. My bfn in april was a fresh cycle, this FET is the frosties from that cycle. And unfortunately, I have more than a few days, beta still not for 8 days, but it should have been in 6 (on saturday) so I expect to start wanting to see positives in about 4 days.

Wolffie- I started the poas marathon today! (4dp3dt). I know, it is way way way way too early, but I justified it because I have never used these strips before and I wanted to see how they worked. Of course it was negative, I might wait a couple days now, since I got the urge out. 1 strip down, 19 more to go!

Wolffie - Had some pretty intense twinges last night so hopefully that was a sign of implantation! I had the same twinges last time I got a BFP!
