Hey everyone. Cla just bumped up the 3rd T thread and asked for some of us 2nd T'rs to join her. It sounds like that thread isn't used much (hardly at all actually), so it's not like we'd be joining a bunch of people about to deliver.

Do we dare make the switch?????? :)

Tracii, funny thought that you wonder if Isabella is bored. I read a weekly update that in week 28 the babies eyes open up. I wondered to myself how they keep their eyes open "under water" so long and what they have to look at besides dark? Same kind of thought you had.

Hey everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I went to a baby shower on Sunday for my cousin's wife - and I was overwhelmed by all of the stuff that she got - made me realize how much I still need!! Our crib-shopping trip never happened b/c dh had to work on Saturday - guess we will shoot for next weekend.

Jessica - glad you are feeling better :)

Sue - Hope your diabetes test went well today. My stomach did flip-flops when I read what you wrote about getting our hospital bags ready. Wow -time is going so fast now!! I can't believe it's time to prepare for all of that.

Dottie - you sound very busy dear. Try not to take on too much - you need to take care of all 3 of those babies!!

Bella - I laughed out loud when you wrote about your DH's bad breath. My DH sleeps to the left of me too and, if it isn't his breath, it's his snoring that keeps me awake! Last night I had to move out to the couch to get some peace and quiet from it!

Terri - I pee all of the time. My best friend calls me TB (short for teeny bladder) - lol. I swear I go every 10 minutes!

Kristi - awwwwwww... you saw your belly move!! That is so wonderful! I cannot wait for that day to come for myself. I bet it was just an amazing feeling. Did your dh get to see too? And it sounds like you are well prepared for the big day. Not much longer now!

I will miss you girls who are moving to the 3rd tri - but I will be joining you in what, 5 weeks or so?

Remind me again - when is the "official" date of 3rd trimester? 27 or 28 weeks? I always get confused about that....

One more thing -

Traci - I have actually had the same thoughts as you about my baby being "bored" in the womb. She moves most when i am sitting still so I always joke that she is restless like her daddy. Also - she starts moving more whenever there is loud music playing. Makes me think she likes all of that - so maybe she does get bored when nothing is going on?

lol - who knows? It's fun to think about.

You are having a girl too, correct? I would have been happy with either gender - but now that I know it's a girl I am just more and more in love with the idea of a little daughter - I can't wait to meet her and I can't wait to put her in frilly little outfits and bonnets - I am sure you feel the same way.

Lisa, 5 weeks seems to long to not be on the same thread with you! The 2nd T is a total of 14 weeks, so I guess there is lots of us at different stages, but I can't imagine being in a different thread than some of you for that long! 1st T = weeks 1-13, 2nd T = weeks 14-27, 3rd T = weeks 28-40.

hi everyone....hope all is well....

I have had an emotional couple of days, and I wanted to see whether any of you have had the same experience. I have had 1 friend in particular, and a couple of other people, tell me how big I am (actually, friend has used the term "you are huge"), while others tell me how small I am. I have gotten really affected by it, and really teary (I think it's the impending 30th b'day as well).

Anyway, now I am worried that I am having a big baby. Still haven't had my diabetes test (which I am high risk for), but am a bit worried. I thought I was normal, but everyone seems to have their own ideas on what normal is, and where I fit in.

Do any of you get comments that you are big? (sorry multiple ladies...you don't count!!). Does this mean my baby will be big?

Bella.

Ok, Bella, I'm weighing in even though I have twins. I just wanted to let you know that felt this way lately too. I have people tell me I'm "small" and then that same day someone will say I'm "big". One day this week someone said I'm as big as someone about to give birth to one baby...and that same day another person said I only look about 5 months pg with a single baby. It's completely opposite. So which is it and why does everyone have to give me their not-so-correct opinion (since they both can't be true)?

So yes, it bothers me. I like the attention that comes with being pregnant, but don't really love everyone's big/small comments because they usually sound negative (or I take them negatively).

I think when people say "you are big" they are meaning it as a compliment because a woman's growing belly is part of a healthy pregnancy. It just doesn't feel like a compliment to us. I think people just don't always think before they speak.

I don't think the size our belly is a guage for how big/small our babies are. The babies are just a small part of the weight we gain. The sac, placenta, fluid, blood, stored fat...all of that makes up our belly as well. So don't let it worry you.

Thanks Kristi. My DH says I should just ignore it & not let it bother me, but lately I haven't been able to do that at all - and worse, it gets me really down and feeling depressed. And I can't really understand why. I am a little afraid of having a big baby (not sure why either), but it sends me into fits of tears every time I even think about everyone's comments. I feel so stupid even writing that, but that's how I have felt lately & I can't stop it.

Anyway - I saw your photo and you look fabulous!

Bella - To reassure you...the size of your belly has nothing to do with the size of the baby :D All woman are built differently and carry the baby differently. I am actually showing (but not a huge amount) and the doc said Isabella is going to be a 'big baby'...so just goes to show that appearance of the belly is not a good way to tell the size of the baby. I would take people's comments as a positive. Plus I saw your piccie on photobucket and you look perfect!! :D :D

Thanks Traci...although, that photo was 8 weeks ago!

I think it's 3 trimester blues (apparently DH has 'heard from mates at work' that women get this).

See, why can't others say it like you guys did. Bella said "Kristi you look fabulous" and Tracii said "Bella you look perfect". We don't say big, small, huge, etc. :)

Yeah, the 3rd T brings up some new emotions & feelings, huh? I'm finding that myself. All new things to worry about. But hey, our biggest worry about losing our babies is probably behind us now as we enter the 3rd T! Now that's something to be excited about. I wondered when I'd ever stop worrying about that...and finally now I believe I'm actually going to have a baby and not miscarry. That's one worry I'm glad to be rid of. Now we just want them healthy. Another thing to worry about. :)

I think our motherly instincts are kicking in with all the worrying! I am now totally stressing about breastfeeding! my sister has scared the living daylights out of me...she could not breastfeed (all in her head and she dried up)...and now I am terrified. I am also worried because I am not taking all these classes to get ready..but deep down inside being a mother is natural and maybe I will make mistakes but everything should be ok..right  ?????

I just came back from my breathing classes. It is one on one. She gave me about 3 exercises to do. I go back next Wed. I also bought the car seat and stroller today. Geez one could go really crazy spending money with babies. I did splurge on the stroller because I need something easy to get out of the car but also that is easy to get on and off metros and trams...so I bought the bugaboo...it is so cute....tan with pink. Next big purchase is the crib and linens...may hold off until next month so my bank account can recover

I am off to make pancakes.....the baby really loves pancakes! :D :D

Hello, sorry for butting in on your thread, not my time to be here for a couple of weeks!

Please don't take any notice about what people say regarding the size of the bump. The only person who should mention anything, if they feel they have to, is your midwife/doctor. When I was having my daughter (she's 4) I would hate it, people would say to me oh you don't have long to go now and I was only 3 months. With Jodie (who's 3) at 30 weeks the doctors were measuring me 54, I had polydydramnois (excess fluid) and being diabetic you do have larger babies but she was only 7lb 12oz (abeit 5 weeks early!).

I have put my photo up on photobucket and although I'm only 11 weeks I look about 6 months already but when I've mentioned this with the doctors they have told me I should just be proud of my bump and enjoy my pregnancy. We are all different. We all stretch differently, the amount of fluid we carry, the size of the placenta etc

My friend went into labour without knowing she was pregnant. She was a size 10 and her shape, size never changed. Her baby was 8lb!

Sorry I've gone on a bit but what I'm getting at is your size is irrelevant, the size of your pelvis is what we should all be most interested in!! lol

Best of luck

Jo

Hi girls!!!

I don't know why but I keep getting bumped off - meaning I stop getting emails that you girls have posted new comments!!! Well things are defenitely getting exciting!!! I feel Logan for longer periods of time each week!! and boy is he really kicking hard!!! Well to prepare for Logan we painted half the room (we are splitting a large room into a small tv room and a large baby nursery) You should see the mask DH bought for me to wear while painting!! (I look like I could walk into a gas chamber without an issue) I will tell you though it worked I couldn't even smell the paint at all!!! I will be ordering my crib and mattress this weekend!! And hopefully in september we will be building the wall for the babies room so I can finish painting the tv room and start painting the babies room! I know plans for my baby shower have started I just don't know when it will be :D which is fine cause I love surprises...

Congrats to those ladies ready to jump over to the 3 tri thread - hopefully there should still be a few of us back here!!

Anybody else have periods of time where they are just blue for no reason??? Man those hormones....I also heard the new Sara Evans song You will Always be my Baby and it had me in tears! - what a great song!
