Hi girls,

I'm trying to catch up with you all, it's been so long.

As for bumps - you'll be glad if you're not huge - just think of all the strectch marks you're avoiding  ! It's right that it doesn't matter - my sister was small and her midwife said she was worried about the baby, so she went for a growth scan and even they said that although the baby looked small, he was fine - he was 6lb 11oz - not that small - so it goes to show that it's all a bit of guesswork.

Glad everyone is fine - I've found out I'm having another BOY - all those years ahead of me with fighting to get the toilet seat put down...

Take care all

Hey Everyone!

I had my echocardiogram yesterday. Everything was completely fine. My placenta was no where near my cervix they said it was at least 3 cm away at this time and will keep moving away. And I am still having a boy! so no parts fell off or turned inside out between scans

Speaking of Bellies moving - Last night my DH and I were cuddling on the couch. He always likes to have his hands on my tummy when we are sitting together. ( he is also really great at knowing when to take them off because I find it really annoying sometimes and very hot and sweaty)
He felt the baby kick.. so he poked the other side my my belly and the baby kicked back at him. He poked 2x and the baby kicked him 2x. He was just thrilled. This little play time went on for about 5 minutes, we had to pause the movie! I am really glad he is so excited!

Speaking of other peoples perceptions of our bellies. I think I have a terrible self perception of my belly. I have always been really skinny I am 5'8" and my pre- treatment weight was 120 which is about 15lbs below where I normally am. When they put the eggs back in I already weighed 135.. And now I am topping the scales at 165 which feels like I am carrying around 3 large sacks all the time ( 2 boobs and a belly).
My Dh actually laughed at me the other day because I was completely out of breath by the time I reached the second flight of stairs we were climbing.. I told him to go get an extra 40 lbs and climb them and see how he breathed.. LOL OH well its all temporary and for a gret cause.

I was sent a picture of a friend of ours in Italy the other day and she is 8 months pregnant and really looks GREAT! She looks like I looked at 3 months.. I was happy for her and really depressed all at the same time! LOL

All you ladies moving over to the 3rd trimester we will miss you! and see you soon!

and Hello to all the new people here!

Danielle

Hi girls!

Danielle - glad everything is looking great with your little boy! My dh finally got "kicked" last night too! He was sooo excited.

Jessica - I love the visual of you in your gas mask painting the bedroom - lol!! I bet you looked like you were ready for battle - lol

And to all the girls talking about their bumps and other people's comments, etc - well I couldn't sympathize more! I have been venting to my friends about it for weeks. Some inconsiderate person I work with made a comment "oh I didn't know you were pregnant - I just thought you were getting fat". Gee, thanks. What a nice thing to say!

I absolutely HATE it when people tell me how big I am - although I know they mean no harm. I still think its rude and if I have learned anything at all - I will never comment to a pregnant woman ever again about the size of her belly. Like Kristi said - just tell them they are beautiful or that they "glow" and leave the belly observations out. I don't think any woman likes being told they are getting big - pregnant or not!

The other thing that makes me mad is that people are constantly telling me how much it is going to suck for my baby to have a birthday so close to Christmas because they will get shorted on presents. It irritates me to no end when people say that. First of all - I have waited 5 years for this baby - does anyone honestly think I care when she is born? Oh, gee, sorry I am not one of those super fertile women who can get pregnant the minute i want to and plan the perfect birthday. And since when is Christmas all about presents anyway? AAHHHHHHH!! :x Guess I am just irritated today - lol! Honestly I think Christmas is a wonderful time to have a baby.

Zoe - another boy - congrats!!

Everyone else - hello and sorry if I skipped you. I am typing in a hurry because it's time to leave work for the day.

About the emotions - yes - to all of the above. I get blue for no reason, then elated beyond belief, then irritated like I did in my little tirade above. Guess it's hormones!!

Ok, so I'm on the 3rd T thread now, but miss you guys already.

Lisa, I was wondering why you TRIED to have your baby at Christmas time. What were you thinking? KIDDING!!! Like it even crosses our mind when we plan an IVF cycle. NOT! Your post cracked me up. Smack those people!

Danielle, I'm the same weight and height as you before IVF, and am ahead of you bit on weight now. I agree....40 extra pounds is heavy. I crack up at myself when I can hardly breathe after a short walk or stairs.

I loved your story of you & your DH last night pausing the movie and playing with the baby. Don't forget memories like that!!

Glad to hear everyone is doing well!

Lisa,

And all you other girls expecting babies for YOUR christmas present....Here is my answer to those that say it will suck to have a birthday so close to christmas.....

This is what I say....First of all what makes you think they get the shaft??? Most xmas babies I have seen get double cause people don't want to appear cheap (even though Lisa is right! its not about presents) Here is my plan, it isn't going to suck for my son, first of all I have waited long enough to become a mom so I wont let it happen....Secondly who says my son has to have a birthday party is December??? Instead I plan on asking my son if he could have his birthday party at any time when would it be??? If he decides he wants to celebrate his bday party in July who am I to stop him??? Lastly, people may "think" that it would suck to have a child in december - well unless you have done it, you have nothing to say about it, cause here is the truth.... I spent my first trimester in the spring - so even though I didn't feel well it was not oppressively hot and guess what I got out of all the spring gardening and yard cleanup, secondly, I spent my second trimester enjoying my summer since I had energy, was not too big for a bathing suit and when uncomfortable I got to float in the pool....My third trimester will be celebrated in the fall - so while my little beanie is keeping me toasty, I will actually be comfortable even when it is 40 - I will have more options for clothes since that time of year I can wear baggy sweatshirts and comfy pants....(and since its usually other moms that have all there children giving this advice, here is how I end it) - so weren't you pregnant through your third trimester in the summer when your ankles became cankles???? (they usually stop trying to give me advice at that point)

I also hate people telling me how hard this or that is gonna be - I would sometimes like to wear a sign that says "yes, I am pregnant, no advice needed unless I ask you!"

Ahhh I feel better after that rant!

Lisa - I think a Christmas baby is wonderful! Just think all the stores, yards, downtown areas are all decorated for your baby's birthday! And it is definitely not about the presents..geez...what is wrong with people these days...for me the holidays are all about family time.

I had a terrible dream last night.....and very vivid.....Isabella was born and grew into a little person overnight..but she ended up being a holy terror and a really bad child. I know it is my subconscious because I am terrified Isabella will be a total brat (there are too many brats in the world!).

We are off for the weekend and want to wish everyone a relaxing one! I will be posting on the 3.trimester next week  :D :D :D :D

Hi Guys
Not sure how many of you have trotted over to the third tri board. Kirsti if it isn't being used much, am sure that will change when us lot waddle over there! We have been such a great group (small team back slap!) right from the early "scared out of my wits about the 6 week scan thread" hee hee, doesn't that seem an age away.

Bella I am living parrallell emotions! I don't know if you saw my earlier posts, but I weighed myself, coupled the 15kgs weight gain with all the "are you having twins" comments, and suddently freaked! Suddenly scared that I created a giant diabetic baby and all because I ate too many toffee pops!

Even worse my diabetes test didn't come back good, have to retake, this time with a 2 hour wait in the wating room. Can you beleive I was dumb enough to eat a museli bar 20 minutes before the test! They told me it was okay to eat, but the m/w reckons was silly advice and thats what skewed the results. So giant baby and protracted delivery nightmare still on the cards! Plus am measuring 2 weeks ahead, whilst m/w says all healthy, I say oh C***!!!

Tracii, you comfort me! We without even a nursery to prepare, and seemingly still very unprepared. I have a cot frame ... packed in a box ... bunch of random (but cute!) clothes ... a hammock ... oh and the super buggy, but there are still LOTS of gaps!

Hope everyone is super well and bumps are all happy. Have posted pic of me and bub at 28wks on the photobucket. Eyes closed and all, but more importantly without the double chin(s!!!)

take care all

Hi all,

I have moved over to the 3 tri, all though i feel more at home on this one!!!

Mel - i have to re-take my diabetes test next monday, so dont worry, were in it together!!! I was told not to have anything from 10pm the night before and nothing until the test was finished. I did fast however the 1st one came back with borderline results and the 2nd one after waiting 2 hours (so boring) was clear, this they say is unusual, so i aint got the foggiest  i think really they just want a stock of my blood!!!! I was wondering were you had been because you had been so quiet (unusually  )!!!!

Kareen - nice of you to post, wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy also.

lots of love

Hi ladies! This is the first time I have been on here since my last post - I loved all of your comments. It made me feel a lot better knowing that you all feel the same way I do. Jessica - everything you said made perfect sense - and I love the idea of asking your son when he wants to have his b-day party. I may have to "borrow" that idea from you :)

I miss those of you on that have moved to the 3rd tri! I am right on schedule with Jessica and Danielle - so we will all be there in about 3 weeks. Hard to believe I am almost in my 3rd trimester.

My ankles and feet have been swelling quite a bit in the past week. I normally have pretty skinny ankles and small feet so DH is having fun teasing me about my "sasquatch" feet. My sandals barely fit!!

Also - I feel like I have had some sort of growth spurt over the past few days. I am suddenly showing a lot more!! And this baby moves soooo much and I love it! If I don't feel her for a couple of hours - I actually start to worry, although I know it's normal and she's probably sleeping. She seems to respond to music. Guess she will be a little rocker like her momma - lol!

Have a great day everyone!
