it looks like we're moving along. i'm praying for af for those who want it and praying for af to hold off for those who don't.

afm, i was freaked out that the lupron didn't work b/c i have absolutely no side effects. thought about the suspicion that there might be a bad batch. fortunately, i have suppressed "nicely" my nurse said and i start stims tonight! no only if i can figure out how to work the follistim pen...

PMA to everyone!

mjay - YAY! I'm sending you positive thoughts for lots of healthy follies! The follistim pen confused me at first too. After your first injection or so you'll have it down. Does your clinic have an online video you can watch? If not PM me and I'll send you a link to the video from my clinic. I think I watched it a million times!

shelby - sounds like you had a fun and BUSY weekend! I agree, once the injections begin I feel like things are actually moving along! Now I just have to figure out how to tell my boss that I will be a little late to work on my 3rd day back at school! (I have my first bw and u/s appt. that day)

jayden - I start lupron on the 12th. I'm so glad that things are moving along for you!!!!

Lady J - My dh works 24 hour shifts and I am scared that I will need to do my PIO injections on a day that he is at work. Last time around he was in a different position and was home in the evening. I plan on asking my doc if I can do the injections in the morning. If not I will either have to drive to him at work or....GASP...try to give them to myself! If that's the case I will definitely be turning to you! I'll do a little AF stay away dance for you!

statsgoddess - glad all our dancing worked for you! Let's get this party started!

Michele - I will hope and pray that things will come together for you soon. How is the bday party planning coming along? Do you have a theme?

AFM, not much new. I start lupron in a couple of days. I am thinking I should get back to the acupuncturist. I wasn't planning on going this cycle but I think I am changing my mind. This is my last week of summer break. This summer has flown by and I am not ready to return to work yet.

Hi Everyone!

Mind if I join you all? I've thought about joining a forum, but just haven't made the time with crazy busy work schedule. Well, tonight was my first Lupron injection on my first cycle and so it's feeling pretty "real" to me now.... :)

Just really feeling the need to reach out and communicate with women who UNDERSTAND! This is an intense journey, isn't it? Best of luck to all of you on your road. Will be so nice to have company!

DH and I are both 38. We met and got married on the downhill side of fertility, and have been unsuccesfully TTC for over a year and a half. Tme is ticking, and we would love to have 2 kids, so I'm going for an IVF. Love the term "frosties" (so many new terms on this board!) and hoping the old girls can produce a few spare to freeze for later. Just going into this with a grateful attitude, you know?

Looking forward to getting to know you all - you've been talking for so long and seem super supportive of each other.

Sangria - I hear you about being scared of the emotional roller coaster. I just really hope I don't start to obsess.... Poor DH! Guess I'll just take it as it comes, right?

Hi everyone!

firesauce- welcome, you will get a lot of support here, it does help talking to people who understand.

wolffie- I do have a party theme, we are doing a hawaiian luau. All hawaiian decorations and food, and even a hula skirt for Ella. We rented a pavilion for the day at a local park, and it is all coming together nicely. Too bad Ella won't even remember it, but at least she will enjoy the pics and video some day and know how much effort went into her special day.

mjay- congrats on starting stims...now send some of that suppression dust over my way!

shelby- thanks for keeping the list, I have done the past 2 (june/july and july/august) and it is nice to take a break! Maybe you could change what mine says since it is not going to happen for 8/20? Maybe you could put something like "still on lupron, waiting to suppress." I just don't have it in me to ask for a new projected date from RE because my hopes keep getting shattered, so I am just going to wait until I am suppressed and then start pestering them for a date. :D And your company sounds lovely! My dh would have loved it...he is pretty into photography and we just upgraded our camera to a digital SLR since we take a bazillion pics of Ella.

lady J- here is an "AF stay away for one more week" dance, just for you...
Image
I read somewhere that if you tie a string of banana's around your waist then af will stay away...lol...hope it works for you!

Congrats to all the ladies who got af, I guess all the dancing around here has really worked!

AFM- I go tomorrow for my first u/s and bw to check for suppression since doubling the lupron. I have been on double dose of lupron for a week now. I really don't expect anything to have changed, and I probably won't have results until wednesday since my appt is not until 3pm. I will update you all by wednesday when I get my results.

jaydentd - I start bcps tomorrow (8/12). Three weeks of those. The clinic should be getting my approximate schedule mailed out this week.

mjay - You are so lucky that lupron doesn't bother you! I have horrible headaches and hot flashes on it. I'm not really looking forward to it.

Lady_J - I hope your AF stays away!! That sure is the opposite of the problem I was having :)

Michele - Keep us posted on your suppression check. I hope you can get started sooner than you are expecting.

Everyone else - Welcome to the boards to the newcomers and hi to everyone this morning! Running a bit out of time for more personals right now but will catch up later.

AFM - I start bcps tomorrow and am waiting on my clinic to mail me the schedule. Here we go again!!

So glad to have you on board Firesauce!

Michele - I changed your status and I hope that you get good results from your check up today. Hopefully eveything will fall into place & it will happen sooner than later. BTW, love the Hawaiian theme!

Stats - Your moving on now! Let us know all about your schedule when you receive it. My clinic can do everything online through a secure website. I can get lab results, send messages, check on meds, and see my progress with u/s. I wish all you ladies had that!

Mjay - I hope I have the same luck with Lupron as you. I had awful nausea and fatigue with the BCP last time. This time, they aren't going to make me take them. whew! Did you have luck with the Follistim pen? It was so intimidating @ first, but I got used to it. 8)

Wolffie

Going back to work now. Later!

Hello Ladies.....

Shelby.... So the BCPs got u feeling sick before? I wonder if that is what is happening to me..... I have been feeling so nauseaus and tired as well. Yesterday I got home and couldnt even eat dinner. Looking at food is making me wanna throw up. I litterally have been Gagging!!!! Although I have never had any problems taking BCPs. And they prescribed the same ones as usual.... Hmmmm!!!! Well, at least I am down to my last 6 pills...Yipee!!!! Thanks again for keeping the list up to date... I know it is a hard task to do.

Statsgoddess.... So far so good... No AF!! Good Luck with BCPs tomorrow.

CT_Michele... LMAO... Love the dancing Cow. So is that why the Cow has the Bananas round her waist??? She is lovely. Thanks, so far it is working, too bad I threw my last batch of bananas this morning, they were all blackened ripe already...yuk!!! As for the Hawaiin Theme, sounds like fun. Did u get her Coconut Shells Bikini???? GL tomorrow with US... hope it loks good for you. Will keep my fingers crossed.

Firesauce... Welcome to the Board. Glad you got the courage to join. You wont be dissapointed!!! It is going to be a Roller Coaster Ride, but if u wanna scream will be right next to u screaming as well :) As for the DH.... as I told my DH this week, since I have been so grounchy lately. I had to remind him that when we started this IVF Journey, he was going to support me 100% and he was warned about the Mood Swings... since he was ok with it I told him that he needs to understand when I wake up mad or emotional... or we can just quit now. He got the pic... and has been smoochy since!!! So even though it may be stressful at times... we are one post away. Hope your cycle goes well and u get your BFP!!! GL hun!!!

Wolffie... yeah it was scary at first but after the first one I realized it wasnt so bad. Actually my DH wanted to do it for me one day... and I saw how his hand was shaking, I got scared and told him forget it... I was too scared that the needle was going to beak off in my Butt as bad as he was shaking. It was a relief for him too!!! DOnt worry... but my tip honestly would be to practice first with the Syrnge with no needle just to make sure u can reach back there.

Mjay... Yipee... our first Stimmer. Here's to lots of Beautiful Follies!!! Good Luck hun... Sounds like u will be in the 2WW in about 2 weeks.!!! You're almost there hun!!!

jaydent... Glad Orientation went well. My clinic did require me to take an Injection Class. It really helped me out alot. Before that I didnt even know how to pull meds into a syrnge.. now I feel like a Junkie!!! As far as AF.. that is what I am afraid of. I still have at least a week before AF should arrive but yesterday felt as if it was coming along.... but so far nothing which is great. Good Luck.

AFM..... I am still feeling so nauseaus. ALthough I got hungry a little earleir than normal... I had to cut for lunch early cuz I was already real jittery and my hands were shaking... I got like some kind of rush. What is going on with me??? Now I ate and feel like throwing everything back up.. sorry for TMI. I feel like throwing myself on the floor here at work and going to sleep. Is this normal?
I am 32 yrs / DH is 34

wolfie and shelby: follistim pen was ok once i watched the video 5 times! lol! the needle is smaller than the needle for lupron and that was good. but i did feel a little pinch when i injected the follistim.

firesauce: welcome. try not to obsess, but it's next to impossible. that's why i'm here. i needed other people to obsess with, cuz DH doesn't get.

michele: you will be suppressed! you should already be at your appointment in my time zone and i'm praying for you. you've waited long enough!!! btw- i read a post you put on the general board about your DH and low testosterone. is he on meds? my DH is taking Arimidex and his testosterone has increased "10 fold" his urologist said. it decreases your E2 and that's supposed to trigger the increase in testosterone.

afm, i'm on half the dosage of lupron and 225 of follistim. why do they have me on both? isn't my E2 level supposed to rise now?

Thanks gals! I'm waiting until 8:20 to take my second shot, and just reread all the posts to get to know you all better.

Shelby, you are awesome for keeping track of us - and thank you for adding me to the group! Can I say it's a side effect if that kindness makes me want to cry?

I'm sorry LadyJ isn't feeling well. Have you tried the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast?) That might help the jitters and the urps - just something nice and easy.

Something I'm really impressed with is the dedication you ladies show during this process. We are so willing to do whatever it takes (including POI self-injections - wow!) to make our BFP happen.

Funny story - I was reviewing my protocol (for the 1,000th time) and talked to DH about his important job on ER day. Then, I asked DH if he wanted to read through the protocol. He said "I think I know how to do that already - I don't need a protocol." Just cracked me up - just a little clueless about how complicated this is. Thank God for everyone here!!!

Wolffie - Excited for you!!!

CT_Michele - that dancing cow will be in my dreams! :P

Hope you all have a great night!

Hello Everyone - I go for our shot re-education on Friday and the saline-sono. Funny story (funny now, not then): At our last shot education for IVF #1, DH kept passing gas  (sorry TMI) in the very small room that we were sitting in with the nurse. I could hear it, and the nurse could definitely hear it. He was so freaked out with everything, and I was totally embarrassed. I told him to do whatever he needed to do for that to not happen again this time. *sigh* DH is great though. He gave me every shot last time, and he'll do the same this time. He even traveled with me on a business trip just to do the PIO. :D Let's see how this Friday goes.

Welcome Sangria and firesauce!!

shelbyryn - Thank you for updating the calendar. I LOVE it!!

CT_Michelle - Love the dancing pink cow...it made me smile! I've never figured out how to add pictures here, but I love it when others do.

Mjay - Grow follies grow!!!

wolfie - My RE didn't care what time of day you took the meds as long as you were consistent. I bet you can do yours in the mornings.

Baby dust to all!! :D
Me and DH - 37
TTC - 7 years, PCOS and 1 blocked tube
IVF #1 w/ICSI...DD born Oct. '08
IVF #2 w/ICSI...BFN
IVF #3 - FET....ectopic pregnancy
HE already knows the outcome.

Hi everyone! Some personals first...

j&c- it is pretty easy to add pics, you go to a photo sharing website like photobucket and type in what you are looking for. For the cow, I typed "animated dance" and it brought up a whole bunch of dancing things. When you find the pic you like, cllick on it and then copy the "img code." When you are typing your reply on here, paste the img code and it is as simple as that!

mjay- we have talked to dh's urologist about testosterone therapy, and he told us we have to wait until we are done having kids. He said that they can replace the testosterone which will improve many things, but it does decrease sperm count, and he has so few we can not afford that until we know we are done having kids. His count is so extrememly low that he has had TESE done twice already where they extract tissue surgically to get some sperm, and each time it has taken a lab tech over an hour to find less than a dozen sperm. But we will look into it eventually.

lady j- I am glad you liked the cow! I was joking about the bananas around the waist of course...I just felt like I had to make up a reason why the cow was wearing bananas. And my grandma would be very upset to know you threw out blackened bananas, she could have made a mean banana bread with those! I did not get Ella a coconut shell bikini, even if I wanted to, dh would have said no. He wouldn't even let me get her a bikini for swimming this year. He told me I am not allowed to dress her like a little "hootchie." He doesn't even like stuff that is leopard print or diva-ish, like bibs that say "does this diaper make my butt look big?" He is so funny with that stuff...but I can't resist, it is just so much fun to dress a little girl! But she does have a hula skirt and a hawaiian tank and skirt for underneath it...she will still look cute!

Nothing to report on me yet, I hope they call early tomorrow instead of later, I hate waiting all day. I will be leaving around 1 tomorrow to go tutor and then off to get a pedicure. So I really want the phone call before then, but the clinic is at lunch until one, so my only hope is to hear before noon, or then I have to hope that dh asks the right questions or gets to the phone. Maybe I will have him tell them to call my cell phone. Or maybe they will not make me wait all day and just call before they go to lunch...yeah right!
