Loopy Congratulations on your success! Was this your first try? I'm in the middle of injections on my first try, so am totally clueless with a lot of what goes on. My Dr. wants me to come in on a Sun am for blood work and Ultrasound...I didn't think Dr.s worked on Sun? Anyhow it's nice to see that this process is actually successful for some people. I'm just trying to keep the attitude positive and the exercise minimal. Though my Dr. said I didn't have to quit drinking until the transfer.......hmmm. I found it easier to give my shots to myself last night after 2 glasses of wine!

Best of Luck to everyone!

Good evening ladies :D

Well I am now officially on the dreaded 2WW again  !!

All my embies survived :) but one fragmented so that was a no no  . I had one 8 cell and two 5 cells so had the embryologist choose which 5 cell she wanted to put back in (don't ask me - I'm c*** at decision making)!

Anyway, I have been keeping up with all your posts with eager beaver head on! 8) 8)

Love to you all

Angela,

It is difficult and at times life seems so unfair. I had to help one of my team fill out her maternity leave form the other day. When she first told me she was pregnant, she sobbed that she wasn't ready! I had tears in my eyes I can tell you!

Just think of the end result, it is very hard but try and think that you will get what your friend has and although we have to go through this to get there we will get there in the end!

Dagny,

Thank you for your encouragement, I hope that your not going too mad, I strongly recommend films like Legally Blonde and the Wedding Planner if you already got through the others!

I had a very strange experience yesterday as my reflexlogist has been on holiday and I felt that I needed the relaxation I went to see a new lady who is also a healer. She told me that she felt a blockage in my left ovary, very strange as in my last IVF while the right ovary reacted well the left one didn't for ages until some courses of reflexology. She also told me loads of things she couldn't possibly have guessed (very scary). I think I will continue to see her and dump my other one who did not pick up on these things.

I hope that everyone is staying calm and relaxing (although I am a fine one to talk - the reflexologist said that I am the sort of person who worries a lot and whose mind is always whirring - My DH said he could not have put it better himself!)

Paige,

Giving up exercise was a tough one for me as well. I spend 90 minutes a day doing cardio (either running or biking or the elliptical trainer...or a combination of all 3) and weight lift. I need exercise to function and am a mental wreck when I can't work out. I continued working out up until about the 4th day of stims. At that point, I drastically cut down what I was doing (the clinic warned me there is danger of ovarian torsion if I continued to exercise once my ovaries started to swell). Of course, I couldn't work out at all for a day or two after the EC. I had a 5 day transfer so I snuck in some very light exercise before the ET and started up again with very light exercise a few days after ET. I don't know if that hurt my chances or not but I read that one's activity level basically doesn't have any effect on whether or not the embryos implant after the first 48 hours.

This time, I'm doing a FET so assume I can just carry on exercising as normal up until ET. After that, I'll have to force myself to take it easy for several days then will just stick with biking, walking and the elliptical trainer (no running).

Nickie,

Glad to hear your ET went well!

Amithis

The no exercise is driving me nuts. I play volleyball at a national level for adults, so I work out (run, plyometrics, and weights) 4 times a week and average 10 hrs of volleyball.
If I'm lucky enough to have a 5 day transfer maybe I'll just do some light strength training with rubber bands or something. Elliptical would be good with no impact.....I think you can swim up until 8 mos of pregnancy too.
I go in today for anther ultrasound to see how the follies are growing, have been having some light weird spotting that I want to ask the Dr about.
I feel like a lab rat that doesn't have the circular thing in his cage so he can't run!

You lot sound far too fit and healthy. I'm eating like a horse and slobbing in front of the tv watching Big Brother!!!!
Nicky - fab embryo quality. They sound both like grade 1's.
:D
I'm also glad to see other dh's can get things wrong sometimes ... at least I'm not alone there either.

Sophie Jane - I'm so glad you said that! I feel like I should be out jogging in the pouring rain vs. spending autumn's earnings on eBay!

And yes, I saw that you intend to test early... sigh!

So does anyone know how big the follies need to be in order to be considered for fertilization? Do they just take them all, or do you let some go naturally? So clueless with all of this!

Thanks for everyone's advise and support....being a newbie is a lot easier when you have a group of people who know the whole ordeal to talk to.

Paige,

When I have had treatment before they are looking to have at least 3 follicles at 18mm. Hope that this helps.

Have you thought about some gentle swimming for relaxation purposes, would mean that you get some low impact exercise but nothing strenuous?

I had 2 follicles at 16mm, and and 6 more over 10mm. I think retrieval is scheduled for Thursday...so maybe they will keep growing! Please keep growing.
I have considered swimming...but work out in my bsmt. I wonder if it would be worth joining the gym to do?
A lot of people have mentioned yoga as well, but when I tried it in a class (not trying to get PG) it hurt my neck so I obviously wasn't doing something right. Also during this class somebody blasted a huge fart, and I giggled for 20 minutes...so I think I'm too immature for a class  Maybe I could do a tape at home.

OK Ladies .......... Need some advice - I had ET on Saturday and when I asked my Consultant when to expect implantation he said about 3 days. Today I have noticed a very very slight brownish discharge (TMI sorry) - not a lot and I am wondering (hoping) could this be implantation bleeding .............

Didn't have this before on my -tive .............. I am going mad here

Dagny - thanks for adding me to the July testers. Your are a star!

I must say this natural FET has been a breeze - I'm not even on the pessaries (although I was under the impression that I would be) - but my consultant said no, totally natural. At least AF timings won't be mucked up this time around - that was my red herring last time!

Well, TTF ladies
Love to you all

Nikki:

I had implantation spotting with my 4 yr old daughter (she was conceived naturally), so it was around day 9-10 after ovulation. I think it happens a lot faster with ET doesn't it? It must be, because my Dr does PG test 10 days after transfer.

Good luck!
