Wow!..I have a few days away from the boards and so much has happened!!..Annie and I are in Sydney with the family and having a lovely time..The flight down went wonderfully well which was a weight off my mind. Mind you, we medicated her with some Demazin before we flew, so perhaps that helped. A Pharmacist friend said that it can make sure their little airways are clear for the ascent and descent thereby reducing the risk of eardrum perforation..Anyway, she fed during take off and landing and then loved looking around the plane while we flew. Certainly don't think we're up to longer flights at this point, but some time down the track we will definately give it a go!
Deanne, great news re. starting the injections, and yep, like the others I had absolutely no trouble finding a stomach fold to pinch and then inject into!!..Great that things are getting going for you, please keep us updated..Are you still doing the blasto transfer thing??
MissMolly, great news re. the review appointment with your doctor. I had two natural FET cycles, both of which resulted in a pregnancy (first one miscarried)..Is a dream though not to have to go through all the injecting / sniffing etc..Great news re. your doctors succcess rate too, I have everything crossed that this will continue!!
Barbara, thanks for the news re. Donna, make sure you keep us informed of how she's going..We will have everything crossed for the 1st of May..tell her to stay away from those tummy punchers I say!!!
Pauline, when is your test day?????
Hi to everyone, keep well and fertile wishes to all!!
Belinda
Hi Barbara, great to hear Donna had her ET. I too am testing on 1st June. Pass on my best wishes. You should get LittleP to add her to the June (Ju Ju babies) test dates
Hope she is able to keep the kids at bay and away from her tummy.
I am so stupid. Yesterday I went out shopping with my mother & sister. We were having a lovely time. I bought some new Dior foundation, a lipgloss, and some eye cream (I have not bought this type of stuff in ages). My mobile rang at about 2pm - it was work - I was supposed to be there!!!!!! I felt so bad. I am a nurse, so if someone does not turn up, it can mean that you run short for the shift & everyone has to take extra patients, or they may even close beds! Work was actually really nice about it (and did not make me go in), and they managed to get someone to replace me. They even rang back 1/2 hour later to check that they hadn't upset me! I'm such an airhead, but at least they thought it was quite funny. I am usually the first one to arrive, and am never late.

Hi everyone, its great to catch up with what has been happening.
Barbara - Donna must be getting excited, as she is getting closer to her test date
Deanne - you must be almost ready for your follie scan -best of luck!!
We went back in for our second scan on Monday, after moping a bit on the weekend and wondering how only a couple more days could make much of a difference - apparently it did - still no great number, but three good ones. Had EC on Thursday - was freaking out about taking the pregnyl needle, it looked much more complicated and bigger volume etc than the puregon, but it was fine - this is really the only drug I have had a reaction to (apart from hot flushes), and for about three days I had a red, itchy rash where the meds had gone under the skin. The needle itself was a bit of an anticlimax, which is always good where needles are concerned.
So, headed off for EC on Thursday - DP went first for needle biopsy, he is such a trooper, no problems at all, although they had to have three goes to get the sperm and only under a local. Then it was my turn - I remember lying on the bed in theatre, needle in my hand and blood pressure cuff on - and then waking up in recovery - I'm really glad they use a general, apparently in a lot of countries they don't.
Lady next to me had also had her eggs collected - coudn't help but overhear that she had 16 - my first thought was how uncomfortable she must have been in the past few days - started to stress, as recovery didn't have the info re numbers, esp as we had only 3 good follies going in - left recovery an hour later and there was DP holding sheet of paper, smiling from ear to ear - 3 good egg!!!! very happy!!!
Called clinic back this afternoon and two have fertilised, they hadn't checked the third - so enough for ET which is tomorrow (Sat) morning - yipee!! We have decided to go with 2, so lets wait and see what happens.
Sorry for rambling on - get me in front of a key board and it is hard to stop....
Hope the weather in Qld stays a bit warmer than here Heather, it is freezing in Melbourne, after the most beautiful warm autumn - my parents live in Hobart and it was only 9 there today...
cup of tea, then off to find out what this crinone gel is all about...

Sounds like donna, she was freaking about that needle also. - and she is not too keen on the gel. They transferred 2, it's a week today (Friday) and she goes for a test next Wednesday.
Yesterday she had some spotting and a few cramping pains - the clinic said that it was nothing to worry about, but they couldnt say why she still has a lot of soreness inside.
She went to work this week, but took today off after she was told by us all that perhaps she needed a rest.
Jo, it sounds like you and DP both did brilliantly! You must be having the ET about now, so I'm sending you lots of good vibes for a successful procedure and of course the weeks to follow
Hope everyone else is keeping well too.
I'm going in for my first scan on Monday (bloods yesterday were fine), so they think I'll be having my EC either on Wed 1/6 or Fri 3/6. I'm getting a bit more nervous now (hoping that we'll get good follies, eggs, sperm etc...). I guess we'll just tackle each step one at a time.
My lovely Mum is up from Canberra today so we're going shopping.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Cheers

Thanks so much for your encouragement - ET was great - of the 3 eggs, we have 2 embryos, (4 cell and 3 cell - apparently at this stage they expect them to be between 2 and 4 in size), both implanted, third egg did not fertilise.
We saw a picture of these little bundles of cells, and DP (a scientist) got to check them out under the microscope (I was a bit busy with legs in air on stirrups...) - he is so excited and gets a little teary. No problems with ET, other than bladder ready to burst, was all done in a couple of minutes. A bit of cramping this afternoon, but apparently that is normal.
Deanne - best of luck on Monday!!
DebraP - I lived in Sweden for a year when I was 19 and we travelled up to Norway a couple of times to ski - I love the cold weather - am originally from Tasmania, which is the island to the south of Australia - nothing better than being rugged up in front of a fire after having been out in the cold - here is just grey and windy today
Take care
Jo

Jo, fantastic news! I hope you are getting lots of rest and are feeling ok. Take it easy and I am sure those little embies will enjoy their new home. Your clinic sounds great....letting DH be so involved along the way. I hope he is also recovering well.
Deanne, things are really moving along for you now. How exciting. Can't wait to hear the results of your scan. It can be really stressful waiting for the results of each stage of the treatment. Hang in there I am sure everything will work out brilliantly.
Barbara, how is Donna feeling now. Better I hope. Pass on my best wishes to her for a BFP result on Wednesday. I worked throughout the two week wait last time but don't think I will do it next time...if nothing else to save my workmates from my vagueness. I couldn't really focus on work anyway so it was a waste of time me being there!
Best wishes to all and have a great week.

hi everyone this is donna barbara;s daughter mum keeps me informed on u all. i have a question 4 u all do any of u have very sore nipples.? mine today have brought me to tears ! ! . On wed is my blood test of conformation. if all of this has been worth the needles. no one knows what it is like till they go through it.It's nice to know that there are people out their that r going through what im going through.
Hi Donna - its great to hear from you, your Mum keeps in touch and lets us know how everything is going. You must be getting excited with your test coming so quickly now!!
Not sure if this will help re nipples - for my previous pregnancies, this was the first sign that I had that I was pregnant, sore to the point that I was aware of it just walking around - but they have been really sore the last couple of days as well, including prior to EC, so I'm not sure if this is a reaction to all of the drugs
Everyone says that the signs are different each time, but in my experience, I would treat this as a positive thing - good luck on Wednesday!!

Donna, (sorry to keep butting in on your thread)..... I'm not large chested at all but I've always had to wear bras 24/7 whilst on the 2ww. I wore a sports bra at night and found it really helped.
Josie. I spent a week hiking around Tassie when I lived in Sydney. I worked for a large bank (Bankers Trust Australia) and volunteered to do some graduate interviewing there over a long weekend in June and then took myself off to climb a well-known mountain (can't remember name, sorry) hiked to Lake St Clair etc. Gorgeous place! I like the cold fortunately but must say I find it too cold here most of the year. I'm in Trondheim which is mid-Norway but live in a very high location and so we've thick snow for 5 months a year a radical change from hitting Curl Curl and Balmoral at weekends.
Bel. Glad to hear you're having a lovely trip to Sydney and your parents. Good luck with the journey back although it sounds like you're sorted re. how to help Annie have a good flight.
Good luck to everyone about to start treatment.
