Hi all,

Countdown to xmas is on....... Souris - I assume you''ll be back in France now - was the journey okay? Sounds like a nightmare situation with the plumbing - I hope it will be okay. These things always happen at the worst times! Are you having fun renovating the house? We have just spent a couple of years on our house - it's hard work but so worth the wait!

AF still not arrived - feeling very frustrated now - still spotting with headaches so it HAS to be soon!!!!

To those of you going away for xmas - have a fantastic time!!!! :D

Hi all,

I am so glad that having treatment in feb still counts as a new year buddie, i thought i would have to up sticks. Af isnt due till christmas day (great timeing) so cant do fet jan because timeing dosent fit as clinic closed over christmas. Earliest they may accept me is Feb making et very end of feb, beginning mar.

Angeleyes - Hoping your appointment brought good news. I could do with using that Metformin, if you loose weight with it :D i just dont think i would be able to get it in the quantites i need!!!!!!

Sophie - Glad to hear that its worth the wait when doing the house up. Our house is a mess, so much so that i feel christmas has abandoned us!!! We didnt even have a kitchen sink for 2 and a half months, waiting for brother in law to fit kitchen. I am trying desperately to get backing paper up so the living room walls can now be painted and then hopefully christmas will arrive. I can't wait to put my tree up.
Image Im doing the af jig for you and anyone else waiting her arrival.

Pauline - Hope you enjoy your trip and have a fab time

Souris - All the best with the renovating, i am sure the time will fly by, hope you have agood time and there are no more boiler traumas.
Hope the appointment on the 15th goes well.

Bina - Hope all goes well with your treatment, like you i would want to copy the same protocol if it worked the first time. I will not be telling work, will just call in sick, since i am having a unmedicated fet it is so much easier, im hoping. I am also telling less people.

Lynne - so you are all set for 1st Jan, keeping everything crossed for you, are you excited or quite nervous. Its good that you have got christmas to help pass the time.

Sorry to any that i have missed, can only scroll down last page and memory rubbish. But good luck and all the best to those i have missed.

WISHING EVERYONE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A BUMP-ER NEW YEAR

Cant wait to see all the positives in 06, praying it is the best year ever.

Hello everyone...

Angel - how did the gynae appointment go? Can you carry on with the IVF? With regards to the Metformin, yes, I have had it before on 2 separate occasions for PCOS (not alongside IVF). I must admit I didn't like it much at all, I felt quite nauseas and tired on it but the worst thing was diahorrhea at the most unexpected times. If I lost any weight it was due to feeling so ill and I would rather feel well than lose weight in that way. HOWEVER - I am sure that everyone reacts differently to it so may experiences may be unique to me. Good luck!

Sue - Thank you for the AF jig!!!! It made me smile. Would you believe she STILL hasn't come! I have been spotting since Saturday now which is usual for me before an AF but usually only for 3/4 days. I am so frustrated. (in case anyone wonders there is no way i could be pg as DH has been away.)

Souris - How did the appt go?? I sincerely hope it went well. Are you adjusting to the change in weather - how is it in the cold house?

Jeck - So your AF has arrived - YEAH!!!!! :D This is fantastic news. On to the next stage now then!!! Keep us posted!

Have a lovely evening all of you....

Lots and lots of baby dust sprinkled from tonights full moon...

Hiya Girls,

Sorry i haven't been here for a while, but have been feeling like i've been in a bit of a limbo like state for a while now.

However - we do have movement of sorts!!!

The clinic has matched me with an egg recipient!!! And they are very eager to get started, so when AF arrives next i'll start taking the pill!!!!

Only fly in the ointment is that i am CMV positive, and she is CMV negative. CMV - Cytomeglavirus - is a harmless virus that most be are usually exposed to by the time they reach adulthood. The clinic are now running further blood tests to see if it's an old infection or a recent one. If it's an old one then i can go ahead with treatment, if it's a new one, then i'll have to stop the pill and the cycle will be abandoned. The tests will take 10 - 14 days to come back and i should know one way or another by 3rd January.

So once more in limbo guys!!!

I want this so much, but am so scared to get excited in case we have to cancel.

Hope everyone is good - love to all

Heather -
Congratulations on finding an egg recipient!! This is fantastic news. I truly hope the CMV positive is an old infection so that you can get started on the pill. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! Sorry you are in limbo again but hopefully things will pick up pace soon.

Stay positive!

Hi guys!

Waouh!! I was gone only two days and so many things happening!!

My trip back home was horrible, we missed the connection flight, and then 1 of our suitcase did not arrive!

Sophie, YES! my new boiler is working and i am very warm!! thank you!
Today i bought some tiles for my new bathroom, tiles for the kitchen floor, carpet for 1 bedroom and parquet for the living room!! I am gonna be really busy!

I have VERY VERY bad news concerning my next cycle. :(
It will be my last chance, because we dont have enough sperm. And the biologist doesnt feel confident at all because of the quality of the sperm...
I will still go ahead with the treatment and punction but my doc warned me that it might have no transfer...
I cant believe it, i really cant imagine what will happen if we get a BFN. all will be over... It puts a lot of pressure for this cycle, and i really dont need this right now...

So i will probably have retrieval first week of Feb.

I hope you guys are doing great. Good luck for all the one waiting for AF, and for everyone starting tmt!

take care

Oh Souris , I feel for you, I really do.
Image
It sounds like you're having an awful time at the moment. Missing the connection and a suitcase not arriving is bad enough but all this extra pressure - it's such a shame. I hope the doctor is giving you a worse case scenario regarding the possibility of no transfer. This must be terrible for you.

You will have seen from all the other postings on this website that BFP's DO happen against all the odds so DON'T lose faith. It CAN happen.

I'm keeping my fingers and everything else crossed for you.

Lots and lots and lots of love and positive thoughts,

Hi everyone,
Sorry, have been Christmas shopping (every time I'm convinced I've got everything I end up writing yet another shopping list with more things to get for people - I used to be organised!!! What happened? Must be age...), housesitting for friends and just generally doing errands...Well, Souris, can't believe the kind of week you've had - sounds like some good luck for you is well overdue! So sorry to hear about the outcome of your doc appointment...I agree with Sophie, they probably only wanted to warn you and things can only work better than this! Wishing you nerves of steel and lots and lots of luck for this cycle.
I also had my coordination meeting this week and discussed potential timings with them, which means I should have EC around 31st Jan with ET two days later, so around your time, Souris! My problem is that I start work again in a new job (3days a week, with my old boss, but we're both in a new company) on 13 February, so will have the result of the pregnancy blood test in my first week.....so hope it'll be managable. We have this time round only told my parents and one friend, because of my new work and generally not wanting to have to tell loads of people if we only have a BFN to report....just too distressing, on top of all the pressure...!
Hope you're all having a great weekend!
Merry Christmas and a fantastic - and very very positive New Year!
All the best,

Hi All,
Sorry I've not been around for a while. Christmas is so hectic. It takes ages catching up on everyone's news and I still don't think I've managed it all.
Souris, it sounds like you've been having a bit of a bad time. Can I ask a daft question? Did your DH have TESE and if so, can they not do it again? Or is it bad practice or something? All this is so confusing. I REALLY hope it works for you this time. Us Evil Stepmums need all the luck we can get!
Talking of being evil- I have cancelled the boxing Day 'family' meal. My Mum & Dad are coming Christmas Day and they are having a really difficult time, so it will be very trying for us. I couldn't face the thought of a house full of step kids and grandkids the next day, so asked DH to put them off. So NO Stepkids over Christmas- Hooray Image
I do feel terribly mean on the one hand, but on theother I am absolutely delighted.

Sue, I am still on for Busrelin Injections starting on Jan 1st. I nearly cried when the nurse said it was an injection, not a nasal spray. That is 18 days more injections and I'm terrified of them. Oh well, I'm just going to have to get on with it. My scan is 18th Jan, so hopefully, if all goes to plan should have EC week of 30th Jan. So looks like I'll be in good company with Bina.
I need to get one of those ticker thingys. Anyone know where you can download them from?

I've been prescribed 6 ampules of Menopur per day. This seems an awful lot. When I was in the waiting room at the clinic 2 other people came in with their IVF meds- small little bags. Mine needed transport home by donkey! Image I am starting to worry that my fertility is even worse than I suspected.
Anyway, here's to a good run up to Christmas everyone!
Keep up th PMA
