Commiserations to those of you for whom it hasn't worked out. Big hugs all round.
My IVF cycle went very badly this month, but at least got converted to an attempt at IUI (only had 2/3 follicles) so I guess I'm a December tester as well - 19th, if you don't mind adding me to the list, Pam.
Hi All
Well there's good news and there's bad news. I'm a bit shell shocked at the moment and quite upset.
I AM pregnant (good) but my HCG levels are very low (bad). They are concerned about me. Either it's a failing pregnancy or it's ectopic. I have to wait and go back for a blood test again on Friday. Got to wait and wait some more. She said stress was bad for me so I'm getting sick note for the rest of the week. My HCG levels are only 32... they should be 90 ish. The Doc's hoping my embie floated around for a few days and just implanted late. I'm so upset, I know I shouldn't be as I'm positive for goodness sake, but I can just see it all going wrong after having got this far. Why can't anything be simple, why can't anything work out ok? I have visions of a miscarriage like I had before. I just can't celebrate, I feel in limbo. How cruel would that be, to be positive and then for it go just go. Has anyone had anything like this before?
Darling Mel P - I'm sorry to whinge on. I'm so sorry for you honey. BUT maybe next time is YOUR TIME. Hang on in there
x

To BecP just read your message , keep PMA as this could end out well. as i think us first timers are realising there are lots of different reasons for things and not all of them bad. I really, really, hope this is positive news for you , try and think positively as stress wont help..........
sending hugs.

Hey Bec, hang on in there. My friend had similar concerns at the beginning of her first pregnancy ... the doctors said she must have got her dates wrong but she was pretty regimental in her pre-conception plan (!) and was convinced she was right. It all turned out fine and the docs agreed in the end that it must have been a late implantation. She now has a healthy 18-mnth-old boy.
It IS cruel that you have to go through this now when you've endured all the previous stages, but I figure even if you're pregnant there's a whole new world of worries and concerns to go through - and then again when they're born!
What's the next step? Do you have to go in for daily blood tests to see if your HCG levels improve or maybe a scan?
Sending lots of luck and good thoughts your way ... take it very easy and rest up.
x
