Hello All,
I am a fellow IVF follower like you and have had a cancelled cycle (turned to IUI) and a failed IVF cycle with only 1 embryo transfer.

I am concerned with the low follicular growth in each of my last two cycles even after about 9 days of stimming ( 1 in first cycle and 2-3 in the second) at my age 32.
Is there anybody with same kind of issue? I am from Asia ( where the climatic conditions are warmer) currently in the USA and was hoping some one from Asia or Middle east faced same set of conditions or even better found a solution by moving back to those regions for a better result? Does any body know of any studies in this regard?

FYI: First Cycle medication: I took lupron in my first cycle. Initially I started of with 450 IU of follistim and Menopur together per day. Then from the 4th day It was increased to 600 IU (4 follistim and 4 Menopur).

Second cycle medication: A different protocol this time, I was asked to take dilute Lupron from the second day of my AF and then started stims 300 IU of follistim (this time it was the Pen) in the morning and 300 IU of Menopur in the evening.

Welcome to this thread. I see you had an embryo transfered. This goes to show that you are quite capable of producing follicles.

I understand how frustrating it must be for you to find out that you are not stimulating enough. In my case, I had 5 follicles and 2 survived for transfer. This was however not successful. On my 2nd attempt, I over stimulated and I had 25 eggs which then causes OHSS and I had to abandon my cycle and was admitted to hospital for more than a week.

Try and relax, I am quite certain that it has noting to do with the climate. Stress has a lot to do with how our bodies react to medication. Also, it is difficult for the Docs to get the right balance for the stimm medication. Try and speak to your doc to see whether increasing or decreasing the dosage may work. I went for acupuncture for my 2nd cycle and this really helped. I managed to get many more eggs even though I got OHSS.

Thanks Sita for your reply. I guess most of us are floating in the same boat in one way or the other. Yeah I was happy finally that atleast I was able to produce one more follicle in my second cycle. I wish you Good luck for you FET.

Also I am interested to know if anybody had any other kind of protocol which increased the follicle growth.

I live in Bahrain now, but underwent ivf in India..
I was put on a flare protocol as my fsh level is?/was high at that time at 8.3. which indicated decreasing ovarian reserve..
i honestly dont remember the medication dosage i was on, but i did stim for 11 days in all and produced 7 follies of which 5 were mature and all 5 fertilised, 3 transferred, 1 took, which is now my baby girl.
i have 2 frozen embies.
If you want, i can ask my mom to look up what i was on..the dosage i mean.
the names are different though- i think what you call lupron is what i took as lupride, and i was on HMG..no idea what it was called colloqially.. in india, the docs aren't very forthcoming with info, and i was too scared to ask..
