Hi Everyone! Happy Easter!

I went for my first baseline scan yesterday, and I was told I can start stimmies Tuesday the 18th! It seems like things are going sooooo fast!
I just started the Lupron a week ago! (One week on suppression, then it's time for US and bloodwork?? what do they look for exactly? Hormone levels? follicles?? I guess I should have asked them, I was just nervous.) and now my stim meds and another US on Friday...
Wow. I am getting very excited and hopeful.

Mitzy and Brenda ~ Good luck and lots of rest!

Prissy ~ it seems we are on almost the same schedule? Forgive me if I misread something....

Thanks for all the updates on everyone...I am living vicariously thru you all! Getting lots of info!
I'm floating on PMA clouds!!!

Beth,

Thats great news, it is so exciting when you get on the Stimms, and seeing the scans, and the time flys by. Wish the 2 ww would!!

Well I can't explain how I am feeling, keep having the odd twinge and feel a bit sickly but I don't know if its mind games as I only had my beanie transfered on Wednesday and surely its too soon to have twinges. Also have been more frequently to the loo, now that is strange as I very rarely go during the day.

Fingers crossed everyone.XXX

Hello!! Well, today was my first scan since I started my stimmies 6 days ago. I had 8 follicles on the right, (1) 17mm, (2)16mm, (1)15mm, (1) 13mm and (2) 12mm. My left ovary is very hard to visualize because of adhesions, so the doc thinks that he only saw one that was about 9mm, but he said that we'll just work with the right side. On my way home they called and tole me to reduce my stimmies to half the dose tonight and to return to the clininc for bloodwork. For our 2ww ladies how long were you on stimmies? I'm wondering if they're worrying about me overstimulating? I'll ask tomorrow. I'm a little nervous.

Beth; It seems like we're close. I started my stimmies April 9, so we're exactly 9 days apart. I was told that during the first US and labs they are looking for your Estradiol level in the blood and how many antral follicles you have. I believe that antral follicles give them an idea of what your ovarian reserve is and possibly how much it will take to stimulate your ovaries. Please don't quote me on this. Even though I'm a nurse I'm TOTALLY new to being an infertility patient!

Vessi: What are they waiting on to suction the cyst? Maybe they're stalling to give the cyst time to go down on its own. Overstimulating and having to cancel my cycle are my worst fears, but we all want THE best environment for our little embies, so if a little spring cleaning needs to be done...it's for our babies. I wish you and your family the very best.

Good night!

Hi Prissy,

Your lead follicle is 17mm, they are looking for 18mm and then you are ready for EC, by reducing it give the others a chance to catch up. I was only on stimms 7 days when I was told I was ready, but they decided to give me a little longer to try and get some more to mature, so I went two days early in the end.

good luck, it won't be long now.

Hello

Happy Easter Saturday to everyone.

Vess - so sorry to hear that you had to go through bloods and inspection by so many people. I am sure that they are doing the best for you but you must be so frustrated. Fingers crossed that the cyst goes away as soon as possible for you.

Mitzy - hope that you resting well and that you fighter is holdingon tight.

Danielle - can't believe that you are only 3 days away and see that you already have your own test thread. Sure that time is passing very slowly for you now. Thinking of you over Easter weekend.

Brenda - sounds like you had great quality all around & 3 to freeze as well. Hope very much that they will not be needed. Hope that you are taking it very easy and being well looked after.

Lucy - anymore news on your cyst? really hoping that it will disappear for you.

Beth - pleased to hear that all is well and you can start stimmies on Tuesday.

Prissy - that all sounds like good news. I only work on one side so your news also gave me hope. They sound like they are a good size after just 6 days.

Jess - hope that injections are ok. Are you doing yourself?

As for me, I feel more positive since starting stimmies 3 days ago. But also quite likely to fly off handle at short notice. Will have to ensure that dh plays golf tomorrow as giving him a hard time today. I don't even go for a scan until day 9 of stimmies but guess that was because I was down regging for almost 3 weeks before I started stimmies so guess that it will take a while for me to get going. Anyway, being Easter weekend, beats being at work so can't complain at all.

Love & positive thoughts to everyone.

Hey everyone!

the 2ww is driving me mad. I had my first glimmer of hope this morning. Although I have felt like complete crap for the past few days. I have still been taking an HPt everyday.. I ended up buying another box of the early ones. And this morning I had a faint line appear...

Its not as good as a BFP on an blood test i guess its more like a LFP ( Lil Fat Positive!)

Im going to test again tomorrow! I really never expected to get a pos on the HPT.. Because with both of my children I never did!

Have a great day!

Hugs to everyone!

Danielle,
When I was taking the HPT the last time I was getting the same fainted lines so i bought one of the ones that just say pregnant/ not pregnant and they really helps cause its one way or the other without having fainted lines. Thought that might help you since your taking them.
Lots of luck! Jess

Hey ya'll. I'm a little late but I do fall into the April/May category so I thought I might introduce myself. My name is Heather and I started my BCP on 4/5. My Lupron starts on 4/22 and I start on Repronex on 4/28. I am totally terrified of the HUGE needle involved with this Repronex and then the Progesterone afterward. My Retrieval date is May 10th so I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully it will make taking those shots a little easier. If anyone has any great ideas on making that huge 1 1/2" needle go in my bootie any easier, please do tell. I think that's really the only thing I'm freaked out about. I've been doing reasearch and reading this board and others and have learned so much from everyone.

A little info...we just got married last August but we are both 34 so we figured we needed to get on the ball. DH is going overseas for a year in October and when he gets back we will be 36 and we all know what eggs do as you age. I have always known that I have Severe Endo but my doctors did nothing. I had the laproscopic surgery in 2004 where they removed a cyst from each ovary and now I know that a they took picture that showed the Endo had ruined the ends of my tubes. They didn't let me know this and did nothing to put me on any meds to help with the Endo. We moved and the first thing this new specialist said was "you should have been on treatment right away". So we've been rushed into IVF because of DH going in October and if it doesn't work this time I will do the Endo treatment while he's gone and hopefully we can save enough money to try again in two years.

DH and I get along beautifully but he grew up in a family of 11 kids and I don't think they showed much emotion. He really is at a loss with my emotional state and I keep telling him it will get worse as the shots begin. The BCP is a good start because I have always had "issues" with it and it has always made me  . He just doesn't get that one minute you're fine and the next you're a mess. If anyone has any advice on that one, that would be great too. I know we'll manage. That's the only issue and we both want this just as bad as the other. He just doesn't get the emotional thing.

I'll be trying to keep up with everyone and wish you all the very best of luck. Hopefully by next January, we will all be proud mommies.

HELLO!! :D

Danie454: Thanks for the info. I guess I was just thinking that 7 follies does not sound like a lot for one ovary, but I was told today that since I have a lot of follicles and my estradiol levels are looking good they just want to make sure they don't "make me sick"!! :x They keep mentioning they don't want to make me sick....I'm like ummmmmm yeah, thanks! I don't want you to make me sick either. I'm assuming they're refering to overstimulation.

Mitzy: Decreasing my meds to give the other follies a chance to catch up makes SO MUCH sense! I go in for another scan tomorrow, on Easter Sunday. Hopefully, I'll receive good news.

CarolynB: You know, I was really worried that not being able to see the left ovary would create a problem, but is hasn't. One of the doctors mentioned to me that while I'm asleep during ER they're going to press REALLY hard and if the left side has any eggs they'll try to get them, but I think I would rather them just work with the right side. Best wishes to you and I hope your lone ovarian ranger will perform like a champ. Oh, my doc also mentioned that in our cases the "good"ovary sometimes compensates for the "bad" one, but he could of just been blowing smoke up my rear!

Danie454: During my two week wait I can only imagine how crazy I'm going to drive myself and my poor dh! I've all ready agreed to stay away from HPTs, YEAH RIGHT!! The kind we use in the hospital are pretty sensitive and I have quite a few stashed away for myself! "Little fat positive" is too cute! I hope to get plenty of those before my BFP also!

CYOT: WELCOME!! You know, at first I was also questioning if I was getting the corect dosages of Lupron, and now my stimmies. I even wondered if my body was absorbing the medication correctly, but so far so good. I think it's because normally when we take meds we're used to feeling some kind of effect like when you have a headache and take Motrin, you can tell it's working because your headache goes away. But with Lupron the side effects for some are little to none, and the only way to really know if it's working is an ultrasound and lab work. I'm glad you joined us and I look forward to hearing about your success!

Happy Easter everyone!

Post by TansRN »

Hello
I am 30 years old and going through IVF with ICSI due to DH having a Vasectomy. I am nervous and excited and everything all wrapped up into one package. I just ordered my Lupron-it is a single dose called Depo Lupron..Anyone try it before. I see most people are on a 14 day cycle of it. I am awaiting my blood test results from the docs office and I should have them on Monday after Easter. I am hoping to talk to someone going through all of this at about the same time...Please let me know-any support is great when going through all of this. DH has to have TESA and I have been looking into how well it works any input would be great! Good luch to all of you going through it this month-MANY BABIES!!!

Hi Tanya

my dh had to have TESA. he had no pain at any time, the surgeon got 10 vials of sperm from him (loads in each vial and you only need one sperm per egg with icsi) which was then frozen. he had one tiny bruise afterwards.

anything you need to know about it, please ask cos we struggled to find info on it at the time and would have appreciated info from someone that had been through it.
