Dione, bet you are glad to be off the meds!! Hope you are well. When is your next scan?

Tasha, hope you are Ok. Try not to worry about numbers. Everyone is different. Some have higher numbers and think it may be twins but there is one beanie. Others have very low numbers and then they double and the baby is absolutely fine!! If it helps mine were 97 14dp2dt and 1295 16dp2dt. Good luck!

Sadmommy, how did your scan go? Did you see/hear the heartbeat?Hope all went well.

Emmie, Lana, how are you? How were the scans? Keep us posted!

Good luck to Rileydee, Bridget, Maya and Claudia with your scans/appointments this week.xx

As for me.... have told close friends and family our good news and they were all thrilled. My headteacher though found the news more difficult...I am her deputy. She is very twitchy about an upcoming inspection and my news seems to throw her a bit. She went rather pale at first. I must admit to being upset at her reaction. I have worked with her for nearly 10 years and all she could talk about was what the Governors would say and could I keep the news quiet for as long as possible as I hold such a key role in the school!! Needless to say I went and told all the staff!! Their reaction was initial disbelief but very very happy for us, you could hear their screams down the corridors!

Well, I suppose by rights I should be transferring over to the 2nd trimester thread. I feel that I have only just got to know you all. Do you mind if I continue to lurk here? Maybe we should just stay together until our babies are born and call it a Spring babies thread!!!

Hugs to all here
Bye for now

Anna, I think that is a great idea! This is the first thread that I have been pretty active on and I like that we are all due at the same time. I've been thinking of the upcoming switch too and reading the 2nd boards. They are just so big!
Not sure about my next scan. My gyn stopped delivering babies  nearly two years ago. She took me for my first appointment, did my prenatal blood work and all of that but has referred me to her friend so that she can keep informed throughout my pregnancy. I go to the new dr on 10/16. I'm hoping to hear the heartbeats at that appointment (which I still haven't got to do yet) and hoping for a November scan. By then I'll be 4 months and maybe we'll get to see what is lurking on the inside (girls or boys?)
Looks like everyone is coming along quite nicely! I am thrilled to be finished with the PIO and baby aspirin. Does anyone know how to dispose of the sharps container? I cleaned out all of the IVF stuff that was taking up a who cabinet in the kitchen to mark the end of an era in my life. Hopefully I won't have to go back to it.
I hope that everyone enjoys the weekend and is loving their changing bodies. Isn't it amazing?

Hi Everyone,
May I join you here? I've been waiting to post until I felt more secure with my bfp, I'm at 9 weeks now and am getting more used to the idea! It's truly a miracle and I feel so fortunate that it worked for us, especially since I'm 41, but so far so good!

I need help and a little advice though, I'm having severe nausea and fatigue, the nausea is the hardest to deal with. I'm wondering if anyone else had this and found that going off the progesterone helped. My doc wants me to stay on it until the 12th week but if going off or cutting back helps these symptoms, I might plead with him to lower my dose. All advice would be so helpful.

Thanks and I feel so grateful to be joining this post!

Hello Ladies,

I hope you are all well. Mazy congratulations on your BFP I'm sorry you are feeling so poorly. I was really lucky and didn't have any sickness. I was on the progestone shots until week 11 and the pessaries until week 12. Personally I don't really think it's the meds but just pregnancy. Have you had a scan yet? You never know, you may be more than one in there which is why you're having it so bad!

Anna and Dione we don't bite on the second tri board! There has been a few ladies in the last week who have just come over so they are at the same stage as you. Please don't feel that it is too big, you don't have to read every page, just the current one and then take that as your first. Clicking on page 50 is no different from clicking on page 9!

I'm sorry to hear about the way your headteacher reacted. No way would I keep it quiet if I was you. After all this pain and heartache you go through. I would be wearing a t-shirt telling the world (only because putting a banner on the roof of the school may be a little dangerous!). I'm sure the Govenors will be absoultely thrilled for you. You've given them 10 years and now it's their turn to support you. Most of the governors at our schools are parents themselves so I'm sure they are going to be overwhelmed for you.

Dione I took my sharp container back to my clinic but I usually have one as I'm diabetic. To get rid of that one I contact our Environmental Health department at our local council and they collect it from me. I guess things may be a little different over there. Maybe try contacting your local doctors surgery and ask them.

How far gone are you now? Our midwives only usually try and listen to the heartbeat at 14 weeks. I think before this it can be little tricky and if they don't pick it up they would have to send you in for an u/s. My next scan is on 26th October and I will be 20 weeks. I'm so hoping to see what flavor I have. I think because I want to know so much it will have it's legs crossed! My little girls want a girl but the big ones aren't bothered.

There are a few of you with scans this week. I hope all goes well.

Have a wonderful Sunday

Jo

Hey Anna, I think the Spring Babies idea is wonderful. Can we change the name of our thread, or do we need to start a new one? Anyone know?

Welcome and congrats Mazy! I felt a tad bit better when I quit the PIO shots, but I am still feeling pretty rough. I think a lot of it is the hormones from the baby. I am sure it will ease a bit when you stop the progesterone though. Hang in there!

Dione, was it freeing to get rid of the IVF stuff? We have our stuff still in our huge box in the dining room and some still in the fridge. I have such a hard time throwing it out. It was so expensive and so important to get us here... it is pretty overwhelming. I think I will follow your lead and toss it. If anything it will feel good to clean a space that has been occupied for months.

Hello fellow 1st trimesters. I am sorry i haven't been real active on this thread lately. I have my US today i am just a basketcase. I am so afraid that they will not find the heartbeat, something is wrong, that it was all a big mistake and we are not even pg. I know probably sounds really silly. But if you could just say a little pray that everything is alright i would appreciate it. I will post when i get home.

Hello ladies--thanks for all the thoughts today i really appreciated them. Here is my update in a nutshell. We have one really strong little peanut snuggled in. He/she is measuring at 8 weeks (even though we are according to the clinic 7w3d husband is hoping for a football player already) and has a heartbeat of 166. Sounds and looks like a good strong little one. However, sadly we do have one other sac way up on top of my uterus. The tech was able to see the sac and the yolk but couldn't get a good enough look of the pole or the heartbeat if there even is one. So she is not sure what the deal is. We have to back in two weeks to have that sac looked at again. Doctor didn't really give a % of what he thought it might do. It is either a psydo (sorry about the spelling) sac that will just reabsorb into my body or it might be a fetus that was just hiding or being tough to see. I am a little sad about that sac but also very happy that we know we have one strong one for sure. I think it would of been easier emotionally to hear yes there is two or no there is one not this well....there is this questable sac. KWIM>
Ok i am done rambling now. Bridget

Bridget- Well overall it sounds like your scan today went very good. Hopefully the other sac they did see isn't anything to be alarmed about. However, hopefully it's another little baby hiding from the cameras.... lets just say camera shy! Here's wishing you the best on your next scan....

I guess I need to give you guys an update. I had my scan a day early and it did not go as well as planned. The baby measured 3mm which equals 5w6d not 6w5. The heartrate was 78. I have no pains or bleeding but I am on suppositories and estrogen so I probably would not see any blood. I am scheduled to go back on Thursday.

Bridget, isn't it amazing how many emotions you feel after this day? You know you have one healthy baby which is great news, and you may even have a bonus. I am sorry you didn't leave with solid information, but please think of it as a good visit for your one beanie. Those 2 weeks will be up in no time!

Sadmommie, I am sorry to hear about the low measurements and the low heartrate. Have you checked on the boards to see if anyone else has had anything similar? Does the doc. feel like things have a chance? It seems to me like being only one week behind could still turn around. Please let us know on Thursday. I will check in often to see how it goes.
