Good Morning Girls-

I just wanted to let everyone know that we had our first visit with our new OB/GYN last night. He just love him and his staff.... what a relief. He did an internal exam on me last night and said that everything is great. I have to call the hospital today to schedule an ultrasound and some blood work. My next appointment with him is Nov. 29th (my 12 week exam). He has me on the progesterone shots for 12 more days and crinone for another month.... Needless to say I'm counting down the days until I'm done with my shots... I'll finally be able to sit down!

Well I hope all of you girls are doing well....

Tasha

That is great you like your new OB. I need to find a new OB too since I am going to be moving from the military health care system to the civilian one in Jan. I am going to see a military OB until then.

I didn't really care for the doc that did my pregnancy scan yesterday and I am a little leary of his decision to pull me off the PIO shots. I asked him if there were parameters for that and he said a strong heartbeat. This sounds odd to me. He pulled me off the shots and I am going to do the supositories for the next 3 weeks along with continuing the estrace. I know others that have a similar protocol, but I would rather take the shots if it means a better environement for my baby. The shots don't bother me. I do hope some of my bloat will go down without the shots though. And let me tell you what, people are not kidding when they say they are messy!!!!!

Take care all,

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well.

Cowgirl - My RE just took me off the PIO shots and put me on the supositories as of today and I am only 5 weeks along. I am also nervous about it but he has gotten me this far so I trust that he knows what he is doing and will do what is best for me. I know how nervewracking this all is, I seem to do nothing but worry these days I hope that it gets easier soon.

thook - I am so glad you like your new Doc. That must be such a relief to you.

Brit10 - I know how you feel. I often go from wanting to not wanting twins all in the same minute. I just try to have faith to accept what is meant to be.

Take care everyone,
Nance

Hi, Everybody -

Well, just got the numbers back from my 3rd beta, and I'm worried about them because my doubling time has gone from 36.76 hours to 74.33 hours :-( Doesn't seem like that could be good news. My progesterone level is good, though, just over 50.

My HCGs have been:

75 @ 11 days post 3 day transfer
1782 @ 18 days post 3 day transfer
8536 @ 25 days post 3 day transfer

Waiting for the nurse to call back with instructions from my doctor. Anybody else out there experienced decelerated doubling times with lower than normal HCG? Sounds like a recipe for a miscarriage to me, but I've been feeling particularly pessimistic this week...

txpacotaco--Your numbers are great... just a reminder that the higher your levels get the longer it takes to double... most charts I have seen say anything under 1200 will double 48-72hr and once it is over 1200 it takes longer to double!!

Another reason could be that 2 implanted but 1 has stopped, this is what happened to me with my 1st IVF... But I really think the reason is more so because your numbers are so high they are slowing down...

I know it is worrisome but just try to stay positive... I know easier said then done...

Good luck!!!

txpacotaco - I have heard the same thing that Jeck has. That once you reach 1200 that it takes much longer for the numbers to double. Those numbers still seem very good to me. Let us know as soon as you hear from your RE. I will not tell you not to worry because I know that is impossible. But try to have faith that everything will be ok.

All my best.

txpacotaco don't worry, I found this it might ease your mind.
Beta hCG levels should double approximately every 2 days for the first four weeks of pregnancy [1]. As pregnancy progresses the doubling time increases. By 6 to 7 weeks gestation beta hCG levels may take as long as 3 1/2 days to double [2,3]. You can use the calculator below to calculate the doubling time of two beta hCG samples by entering the date of the blood test and the corresponding beta hCG value for that day. If the hCG level is declining the the half life of the hormone will be calculated.

http://www.obfocus.com/calculators/betahCG.htm

Sounds to me like you are right on schedule. :-) Remember ad two weeks from transfer time to calculate how many weeks pregnant you are. :-)

Take care and I will say a prayer for you.

Hi ladies, may I join you gals on this board.

I had my first scan yesterday (at 5w) ... is that a bit too early? We can see a little sac (not very clear) ... doc said it's too early to tell if there is more than one. Did anyone of you had a scan at 5 weeks? Is the sac to be seen very clearly? It really worry me.

As my OHSS started to relief a bit too early, it's another factor that worry me so much. I am extremely tired and on bed rest.

I had my 3rd beta yesterday afternoon, will get the result later today ... really worry if the number doesn't go up as it should.

Congratulations on your scan. That must have been so exciting!!

I don't think there is a "too early" if your doctor was able to see the sac. From what I've read online different docs choose different times. My doc always waits until 5 weeks gestation and I'm going in for mine next Wed. I've been feeling so down I almost called her yesterday to beg her to do the scan a week early, so I really envy you.

I'll bet your blood work turns out just great :)

Got my number for my 3rd beta, it's 17,014 for 19dp3dt. Not too sure what does that tell ... but the nurse said it looks great, at least it's increasing.

Good Morning Ladies,

Ophee - I know it is not to worry especially after all we have been through but your numbers seem very high which I think is a good sign. I am going for my first scan this morning and I am also only 5 weeks along. I also find it hard to imagine that they can see anything at this point since it is so early on. But being that they saw even a small sac in your scan I think is a very good thing. Try to stay positive. I will be praying for you.

txpacotaco - I'm glad you are a little less worried. Your numbers sound really good. Don't worry, you are among friends here who worry just as much so never feel silly about it.

Take care everyone,

Nance

Ophee, your numbers look GREAT! and yes 5 weeks is very early! :-) Your next scan will show more! :-)

Nance, how are you doing?

Txpacotaco, did your nurse ever call back and give you any different instructions? I hope you are feeling better about your numbers now. The wait for that first scan is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Once you see that heart beat you will feel so much better!

Jeck I am so glad you have the strength to hang with us. I don't know if the roles were reversed I could do it, but I want you to know you are an inspiration and strength for the rest of us!

Take care ladies,
Cowgirl
