Mama wow you must be a super follie maker  – 17 embies which hopefully means that you get some to become snow babies for bros and sis for you little one !!

Yarnista – I too had to stop my meds as soon as they realised that there was no heartbeat but again take the advice of your clinic, I’m sure that’s what they will say. Hope you're doing ok and that you and DH are taking care of each other.

Jill – sounds like you have a good crop of eggies coming your way – good luck tomorrow morning with your EC.

Marcia – thank you for your lovely advice – I am being so so positive and thinking that this is it and everytime a bad thought comes I’m pushing it away – I know that should it not work then I shall a big fall, however even if I prepare myself for that, I will still be disappointed anyway.

Sonya – how did it go hun ? Tomorrows the big day – will be thinking of you – just think when you are prob having yours taken, I will be having mine put back in

Sha – how are you sweetie ? sounds like you’re having a rough time of it – hope you rested well today and feeling slightly better tonight. Glad that you've taken some pain killers. Are you taking any more time off work - sounds like you should just to rest and take it easy. Your body has been through a tough time and needs some tlc.

Quita – hold on, there is still a chance that you will get a BFP, it has been known for girls to spot and have a positive outcome. Don’t give up yet. PMA !!! Keep on shouting it girl :D

Miss Piggy – don’t think like that, there is still every chance that you will have a positive outcome, it only takes one little one! On my last cycle, I only had 2 embies and 1 wasn’t particularly good, but they put both back in and I got a BFP! So don’t give up before the 2ww starts - sending you big positive vibes over to you :) .

Nerms – you will get a few aches and pains in the first couple of days, just think of what your ovaries have been through in the last month or so. They are still size of melons probably and just adjusting to back to normality. I know how it feels, as you become so aware of everything, every twinge, ache, pain and then you analyse it to death!!

Kandice – honey, you are really going through the emotional rollercoaster – I have seen stranger things on here happen and a positive pg – tried to find the posts from lauralou who went through something so similar just before Christmas – I know from her profile that she is now 28wks with twins. Praying hard for you that it all turns out to be ok for you.

Rae – thinking of you for Thursday and we will miss you whilst you’re looking after MIL. Put those feet up, if yours is anything like mine, she will take over, normally it would annoy me but take advantage. Have a great trip to Vegas - hope you win the jackpot!!

Anna sweetie, my heart goes out to you – I don’t know what else to say apart from I’m thinking of you and you know where we are all are when you are ready to pop back. I don’t think you can ever prepare youself for the crap news that it’s a –ve. Take care x

Steph – wow those numbers are good – perhaps there may be 2 in there eh??? You so deserve a break – enjoy florida and chill.

Nicky - bananas are full of protein aren't they?? Walnuts are good for you too as they have natural selenium in them which is good for egg growth. I have to admit, i had a bit of a panic yesterday when she said to me, keep drinking the water, but you don't need to worry about the milk...
MILK WHAT MILK!! Do you think a MacD's milkshake counts??

They said that even that there is no real evidence but they think it would help the eggs and then she said, well you've been on a healthy diet with lots of protein.... :? oh well, whats done is done

So tomorrow is the day my babies come home, feel a bit gutted that we paid extra for ICSI and only better off by 1 embie which is likely to go to waste. Going to ask the chances of having 3 put back in which I know is highly unlikely or whether they will freeze one again unlikely but hey if you don't ask you never know!!

Accu is all sorted out for before and after the sessions and then a long afternoon being a couch potato!! Or on here

Chvonne - when are you testing ?? Must be soon and hope the 2ww is going ok for you.

How are all the other 2ww'rs - any positive signs yet??? :D

Good luck Sonya and Jill for tomorrow !

Nerms btw - are you still up for meeting this weekend?? Think we are planning for sunday - have pm'd you.

Hugs to all

Hey ladies,
I'm doing pretty well today, it helped me to be around the kids at school. The last 2 days I have my best classes so that was a good thing. We walked the track today and being out in the fresh air and seeing the kids happy did a lot of good.
When I got the results yesterday they said the doc would be calling me in a little while to give me his thoughts, and he has yet to call. I called them this morning and they said he is out of the office all day. I had a lot of faith in him and his whole office was so great throughout this whole thing. I guess he's busy but it really irks me that he has not called yet. My sister in law who is a pediatrician said she thinks I should call his answering service but it's not like I have an emergency.
I'm looking forward to seeing lots more BFP's on this thread. Thanks again for everything.

Yarnista - sometimes the after care is pretty crap with these clinics - probably the time that you need them the most and want answers to questions. This is where I feel sometimes let down by them - its like well we've done our bit, thanks for the money bye!

I would try the clinic again tomorrow and if you have no success then leave a msg on his voice mail !!

Shantala is having the same problem with her clinic

hugs

Hey Girlies!!!

Sha: I am soo sorry that you are in pain. Time for some rest sweetie! Fingers crossed for you! Grow embies Grow!

Quita: Sorry to hear that you are spotting. There are many reasons that that could happen. PMA I do have a friend who had some spotting and just got a BFP!! Im in Charlotte, North Carolina

Miss Piggy: I hope that those 2 embies grow like mad! I truley hope you and dh have a baby together! Sounds like moderate to good is awesome PMA sweetie! Congrats on getting to the 2ww!

Nerms: Thanks for the well wishes I will do my best! :) I know the 2ww is a killer! Chin Up! We are here for you!

Nimbs: 3 out of 5 is awesome! I am sure your ready to bring the lil ones home! Good luck on the ET! WOO HOOO

Nick: Thanks for the well wishes! I am sooo excited! Wow I hope you get tons of lil embies! Again you have my utmost respect for sharing your eggs! You are an incredible women!

Shantala: After my bfn I felt like the clinic did not care about me also! I hope the call back soon.

Anna: I have been where you are. For me it felt like the walls were caving in around me. I was devasted. You are in my thoughts I am soo sorry.

Pep: Great numbers babe! So happy for you! Have a great time in Florida!

Mama: Incredible numbers congrats!

Yarnista: Sorry about your clinic. I know sometimes I feel like just a number there!

As for me we did the trigger shot last night and because I dont do well with the "normal" trigger shot I did a inner muscle shot. My dh gave it to me and he had to stab me 3 times before the needle would go in! It was horrid! He kept saying sorry then stabbing the needle in then sorry then again! The injections burned like no other!!!! Im ready for tommorrow! I can't wait!!!!!! WOO HOO! My dh said the "A" team is also ready! He is such and idiot sometimes. Why is it that they get dumber when you marry them? I am pretty sure he could find his own belt for the 30 years before he met me! And then there is the refridgerator blindness!! Sigh damn hormones! I will stop ranting.

Good Luck Jill and Nimbs for tomorrow!
Love to all

nicolamark wrote:HEY!! i just posted all that and forgot to tell ya my news!!!

Base line scan was today, and my lining is basically non existant and ovaries hardly doing a thing!!

My left ovary was poly cystic!!! OMG!!! i thought, when the nurse said that, when i said what do u mean, she said that there were loads of tiny tiny follicles on it but they were domant, so nothing to worry about and all good!!!!

so now i wonder if that means, when they are stimmed i will get lots of follicles!!! x x

Next scan wed, after 8 days of stimms!!! Yahooo!!!!
Nicole Image , you need to ring up and get a better explanation of that hun, because if you have polycystic ovaries, it means you have PCOS, and it's not a thing that'll go a way, once you have you have it :( .

I do hope she made a mistake, becasue I wouldn't want you to be going through all the hassels PCOS has given me. If you have PCOS, your high risk for OHSS, and you don't have a good time stimming as you develop far too many small follicles with hardly if any mature eggs as a result.

I really hope you get good news, and you don't have PCOS.
Good luck hun Image.

Hi Ladies, This is your long lost cycle buddy Bigwhitehapydog. So much going on, and so little time. I promise to read up over the last several pages, and do some personals. I post on Dec/Jan thread as well, so it
s so hard to keep up. I promise I'll be better with this. Well, for me, baselines start next Monday. Lupron on April 2nd and Follistim on the 4th. I'm finally well on my way.

Marcia, AWESOME folly count girl!

Nimble: good to hear from you. Good luck on ET. You'll do great. Bring those babies home!

Shantala, keep your chin up. I'm thinking of you all the time. Did your clinic call?

Mama 17 HOLY CRAP! Amazing! Way to go.

I went skiing a couple weeks ago, and wiped out and tore my ACL ligament in my left knee. EEK! Will need surgery, but not till after IVF. BCP pills made me gain 2 lbs. EEK! Can't afford to gain 1. Dropped 1 1/2 of the two this past week, but stressing it, cause shots make me gain too. UGH!

Well girls more later. Sticky baby dust to all those transferring!

Hi girls

There's a lot of good EC, and fertilisation results, that's great news, and good luck to you all when ET are done Image Image.
****************************************************

Things aren't so good with me and I just wish I had an ounce of luck, to make my eggs grow. This whole thing is getting me down now  . I've been down regging for 3 weeks and I had so many big bruises from that alone; and now I've been also stimming for 8 days and had my first follicle scan this morning and it's not good. I've been injecting 3 times a day altogether now, and my follies are hardly growing and everything was all set for ER on the 2nd, ER on the 5th. But there's 6 follies on the left that are 5-6mm and 3 on the right that are practically the same. At this rate they should've grown alot more than that and been around 8 -10 if not more (right hardly ever works, but has a cler tube...the left is more active, but has a partcially block tube due to the EP). Then by Friday I'd be ready for my Trigger like I'm supposed to be doing.

I've never had any good responce on any of Menopur on injectables cycles, or for that IUI cycle that got cancelled last year. Yet they still put me on the same meds, even though I keep asking for something else, and now I'm stuck again :( . They say that they're only liscenced to use Menopur, but that seems like a crock to me.

I've been upped from 150iu's to 225iu of Menopur as of tonight, so I'm on to 4 injections a day until have my next scan Friday morning  . My E2 came back really low, I had to go over to the other part of the hospital 10 mins walk to get that done again. I told the nurse where to do it, she didn't listen, she hurt me like hell and got nothing. She said,' Oh you do know don't you?' So I said, 'yes that's why I told you where to do it in the first place'. I had the bloods done over the road to out patients, and told the snooty nurse there, that I was told to bring the vial back with me to the Fertility hospital so they could process it this morning, and call me back at work in this afternoon. I don't think she liked being told where to fine the one thin vein that I have that keeps collapsing. I don't think I'm supposed to know a darn thing about my body. And then when I told her, I was taking my blood back with me, she didn't like that either and disputing it, but I didn't go into detail, I just said I was taking it and she didn't like seeing the
EMERGANCY SAMPLE, on a large lable in Red on the back.

We took it back and then had a meeting I'd set up with the the Head Embryologyst that does all the SA washes and egg fertilising. It turns out that they don't really know the Stats of PCOS fertilising, and thinks we have as much chance of anyone else if my eggs are mature enough. She talked through many of our worries, and she said 'your first IVF is always trial and error, as RE's and your doctors or whatever never really know how women are going to respond in your 1st go, so it's trial and error so they know how to adjust things so that they work better for next time. That's whey they always say that the the starts are always better the 3rd time and you'll get pg by the 3rd go. That's because by that time, they kow what's going to work for you'. Never knew that was the real reason for those stats . But what was even more shocking, was when I asked her if we were unlucky enough to get that far and to OHSS, and they took everything and froze them after fertilisation, how long would they keep the embries frozen if we couldn't afford to do the IVF till a year or so later.

You see we're having the first one funded and was told if we needed a next one we'd have to pay, as we only qualify for one free go. Well it tunrns out that's not the case, and when she told us that, I just burst into tears. I couldn't believe we'd been told since last June that we only get one go. So I told her that last year June and August, we had 2 IVF consult sessions and when we asked how much it would cost to pay for the FET if this didn't work if we had to pay for it, and we were just handed a sheet with all the costs on it. It turns out that if I OHSS and they get the eggies, they fertilise them and then freeze them. Then we get a further 2 free FET as long as we have enough for 2 tries. If the first isn't successful, then the 2nd is free. If we get a +++ and then try for more children only then would we pay for the last FET, and after that we pay for the whole thing ourselves.

If we'd been told this, we wouldn't have felt so much pressure for this to work first go, because I've been so upset thinking in the back of my mind, that I'd probably have a few embryos on freeze somewhere and can't afford to get them put back in :( . So anyway, knowing that we have that back up, I just need to get this stage working to get an ER in the first place. I asked her if it was possible that I could have a 5dt instead of the 3dt I'm supposed to have, and she said that shouldn't be a problem. The fertility hospital has been researching it and are going to start suggesting 5dt's as they are seeing high results in Image. But again it depends on the quality of the egg and the sperm, but having ICSI to the egg doesn't make a difference in stats, that's why our place are stopping that procedure unless there's sperm issues.

Basically we foudn out a lot of info you woulnd't normally be told by your RE, as it's her profession, but some of the details should have been told to us, and she was suprised we weren't given the Embryo cell grading sheets so that we see just what they'e looking for. She even wrote her full name on it and her direct phone number, so that we could her any time, and didn't have to go through the swithboard if we had any questions  (that was so nice of her).

Anyway, after all that and I got to work, I was there 3 hours when they called, and my E2 came back really low, and I said yeah, 'I knew it would be. At this rate they should've grown 2-3mm a day and should be alot more than what they are; and should've been around 12 -15 at a push knowing mt body, or at least 8's if not more :( is what I was hoping for'. The nurse just agreed and said yeah that's what they should be. Sigh, I don't think I'll be cooking these eggs fast enough by Friday. I'd have been ready for my Trigger then like I'm supposed to be doing if they were further along. So who know's what it'll be like by Friday:cry:.

It's so inconvenient because Friday was going to be my last day of work till the 19th April. My work gives you 5 days off as 'IVF Benefit' you see in our discount package, and a day and a half for the men. And then you add your holiday around it if you'd like more time off. All the lovely girls have re-jigged their lives to cover me for the 2 weeks  as well. I feel so deflated now cause I knew this would happen. I feel so disappointed and let down.

Hi Ladies

Hope no one minds but I would love to join this group. Hubby and I made the decision to go down the IVF road with donor eggs a while ago due to a genetic condition that could be passed on which we would prefer to avoid. So, we have a donor - an anoymous one who sounds like a lovely person. We started the bureslin injections a week ago. I am due for my first bloods to be done next week followed by a scan the week after that. The week after that we have OPU and then implantation!! I am so excited.
I am feeling fine on the bureslin but am getting a bit worried about those pessaries!!!!
I would love to hear from anyone!
Good luck to all of you!

A quickie reply to Nicky's question:

veggies are, as you know, a rather poor source of protein, but as you're already packing in beans and all that good stuff, you could try these for good measure: cauliflower, brussel sprouts and asparagus. They are all high in protein compared to most other veggies. I also remember hearing that watercress has better than average protein value but of that one I'm not 100% sure. Hope this helped!

pep23 - So far I don't have headaches anymore only that day. Yap - I'm using Follistim pen. I asked my nurse if I can keep it out but she told me that to be safe I need to refrigerate it and take it out 30 mins before using it. I hope everything is going well for you.

Sonya - That's great news..CONGRATS on getting your trigger done..goodluck on your EC...

Sha - Sorry to hear about the painful EC. Hope your feeling better take a lot of rest and just take it easy.

kia1973 - congrats on getting your EC done. I'll keep my finger crossed.

nimble - That's great news. Good luck tomorrow

Quita - PMA...PMA.. hang in there hon..there are many reason for that spot to happened so still have a big chance that you will get BFP.

Miss Piggy - Congrats on getting to the 2ww, stay possitive..talk to those 2 embies to GROW!!GROW..

To everyone else hope your all doing fine. This thread is getting really busy it's hard to catch up.

As for me no more headaches (thanks God).Today is my 5th day stimming and I did my first BW and u/s since I started my stims. The nurse measured 9 follies in my left and 7 follies in my right (16 follies total) the biggest one she measured were 12mm. Tomorrow night I will start Ganerilix so 3 needles for me now ouch  . I felt a little bloated now. Is anybody also used Ganerilix and if so, you only take your Ganerilix at night? My nurse told me that I only need to take it at night, I just one to compare notes.

On my u/s today I was pretty surprised that the nurse did the u/s (measurement) I thought my doctor is the one who is going to do the u/s. Is it normal for the nurse to do the u/s or it is only on my clinic? Just wondering...

I been weighing my self since I started my meds and I've noticed that I gained .5 lbs everyday. Is it normal to gain weight everyday during our stims?
