Karen - You made me laugh so much now!!! I love the name Delaney, but I still think there might be a point in what you're saying. I would listen to the way Delaney sounds with your surname and not only the initials. If it still sounds like something that is too natural for kids to abuse then be careful. And you are not being silly, just a mom:)
Leora - how are you doing? Of course you are in our thoughts and prayers. You so much deserve this pregnancy to be a calm and happy time for you and DH to get ready to parenthood.
Lou - BEAUTIFUL pictures!!! Gorgeous you and your belly! Congrats on having a little girl!
Klinger - I can't believe you are having these contractions and that you might deliver soon! Time is moving so fast!!! I'm praying for you and thinking of you! Let us all know!
Rio - We had our flavor confirmed during the early anatomy scan 10 days ago - we are going to have a little boy just like anticipated during the NT (( was told on several occasions that easier predict early when it's a boy and our NT was when I was 12 weeks 1 day only!). Our EDD is November the 13'th. I REALLY hope our little one isn't planning on showing up on the 22'nd instead! This is my MIL's Bday and oh well, you figure it out.
Sorry for not writing personals to absolutely everyone, this is all moving so fast!

Rio- Please add me to the list as due in December. My EDD is Dec 22, but now that its twins the MFM MD said she wouldn’t let me go past 38 wks which would be Dec 8. Not sure on the flavors yet though.
Klinger- Hope the contractions have eased up and you and Maribel are resting up. Im glad they went ahead and gave you the steroid shots just in case she decides she has to come early though.
Anna- Its exciting that your baby shower is finally here!! Hopefully Paul decides its ok to stay in for a few more weeks and you can keep him baking until 37 wks. Sounds like you are coming up with some fun stuff for your son to do while you are stuck on bedrest though. Good luck and cant wait to see pics from the shower.
Karin- Sounds like the boys are doing great and gaining weight like they should. Sorry to hear about the BH but it sounds like your doing a good job managing them as they come. July 27 isnt too far off!!!
Margi- Hows the bedrest going? Any new hobbies or tv suggestions? Its exciting that you may find out what flavors you have in there very soon!!! Sucks that the bleeding hasn’t stopped but hopefully the US on Tuesday will show that its shrinking.
KarenVancouver- I personally love the name Delaney. If I hadn’t gone to college with a “wild child” named Delaney it would probably be in our list. As for the Double D references…I think no matter what kids will find nicknames if they want to. I would just pick a name you all like for her.
SD /Waiting Kay- Congrats on the blue news!!! Yeaa for little boys.
AFM- I feel like I missed out on a lot yesterday. The appointment with MFM didn’t go so well though so I was pretty down and didn’t feel like posting. DH couldn’t go so I ended up going alone….probably a bad idea looking back on it. The US tech started out and saw all 3 babies, they were moving all over the place- kicking and punching. She did the measurements and heartbeats for 2 of them and then after I noticed that the 3rd was measuring smaller I asked about it. Then she stopped the US and started closing up shop….I knew that since she didn’t do the heartbeat for the 3rd there was probably an issue. Then the MD came in and did the US again and verified what was going through my head. One of the identical twins must have stopped growing sometime last week and no longer had a heartbeat. I was somewhat shocked and devastated but managed to avoid bursting into tears until I reached my car. Aside from the bad news both of the other babies are doing great, growing like they should and have good heartrates. The twin that had previously been smaller even caught up with the other and both were measuring a few days ahead of schedule. I cried for awhile yesterday but I guess have come to terms with it and the fact that this is probably best for the other 2 babies and will give them the best chance at growing to be big and healthy. I go back for another apt in 2 wks- June 15 to check again. She also said I would need to start coming every 2 wks for a cervix check due to a prior surgery I had a few years back.
Blair...I'm so sorry for the loss of the triplet. That has got to be a tough pill to swollow. I will keep you and the twins in my thoughts as you make to dull term with the two of them! Big hugs

waiting kay- congrats on a boy! i've had sooo much fun with my son the last 2 years it's been amazing..
thanks for the input on Delaney, the name actually sounds great with our last name, it's just the initials that worry me... i may go for it anyways, my husband like the name too.. Delaney Grace.. but i still welcome honest opinions..

Rio- my edd is 1/11/12 and its one bean
Blair am so sorry for losing one. It hurts never the less but count your blessings. you still need to be strong for the twins.
Margi- yes girl we got a peak at the bean today and am still measuring two days ahead. anyway sad thing my ovary is still so swollen but i have been released to my obg. sad parting ways with this docs that i have got so used to. oh well hope for the best.
karen- delaney is a cute name. and like someone said teens will always make up words if they want to tease. so go with what you like for her.
Lou- Nice photos my dear. looks like someone had fun on vacation.
i know i left many personals out will catch up later. nice day ladies.
Blair - oh honey, I'm so so so sorry for your loss. Yes, a twin pregnancy is safer than triplets, but you loved that little baby ever since the moment you knew he existed. Take some time to grieve. Maybe check out the CLIMB (Center for Loss in Multiple Birth) support forums. I'm so sorry - but praying for the twins to do well.
Kat - hurray for a happy u/s with a happy baby with a healthy hb! Are you going to tell your older kids now?
Bliss - yes! You are super-pregnant! Great beta number! Try to relax and wait for the u/s now. The u/s will tell you a lot more than beta numbers soon.
Stephanie - the nursery looks great! Don't worry about having one crib - I think we will only have one for the first little while because of space constraints. I've heard that until they start rolling over, they are completely safe and indifferent to being in the same crib. --- also, about not fitting behind the wheel - I've been staying in the house for the last few days because of my bleeding and when I got in the car this morning, I was CONVINCED that DH moved the seat forward (which makes no sense since he's taller!). I asked him. Nope! I've just grown closer to the wheel!
Kelley - I hear ya on the daily naps! DH makes fun, but I try telling him that growing two babies is a lot of work! I think he was pretty surprised when we were told at our 16w u/s that each baby weighs about 150gr. That is HUGE compared to a few weeks ago. I said "yup - that's what I've been doing all day everyday - growing babies!"
Karen (vancouver) - I like "Delaney" -- I don't think the double D initials are that bad!
Sonya - so glad to hear everything is going well. It's amazing how close you are to meeting him.
Qita - I think you should be fine stopped the injections at 9 weeks. Lots of people have. I stopped at 10 weeks (suppositories, though)
Amanda - Keep us updated. Of course, it would be best if Maribel stayed put until her due date, but at 34 weeks, she'll be fine if she decides to come early!
Anna - I hope your TAC keeps baby Paul baking another 9 weeks. I see how hard this will be on your older son, but hopefully other people will chip in and help out.
Karin - congrats on reaching 30+ weeks!
Margi - 15 weeks! Congrats! I hope you find out your 'flavors' too -- any 'momma' intuition?
Ashley - I've had heart palpitations, but usually when I'm severely dehydrated. They always hook me up to a pulse-ox (?) monitor that measures my blood oxygen level (clips on my finger) and I'm always fine (98-99%).
Kay - another BOY! Hurray! Maybe your boy will get the lucky 11/11/11 birthday! I was hoping mine would, since I'm due Nov 8, but the twinnies will be here in October...
AFM - follow up cervical check and OB appt today. The cervical check went fine -- both babies are great and cervix is measuring 3.6cm. One week ago, it was 5.6 and this Monday it was 3.3.... so I'm holding steady at 3+cm, but still a big drop from the week before. I also had another bleed today -- bright red blood, as heavy as a period, that lasted a few hours.
OB says he thinks everything is fine. The bleeding is scary, but the u/s shows no problems with either baby or placenta, so it's probably nothing to worry about. Yes, my cervix shortened, but it's still definitely normal.
He has lifted any bed rest restrictions - but I'm still going to take things SUPER easy. I go for another cervical check and OB appt in another 2 weeks.
Trying to be optimistic. I FREAKED OUT on Monday when I started bleeding, but everything looks good, so I'm trying to relax. I cannot even express how much I want these baby boys to come home with me in a few more months. I'm kinda not on speaking terms with God at the moment.... but I hoping and wishing with all my heart that these are finally our take-home, healthy babies....

NWWhiz- So glad your ultrasound went well. How have you been feeling?
Blair- I'm so sorry for your loss I'm glad the other two are doing well though.
Karen- I like the name Delaney
Leora- So glad the babies are doing well and they are keeping a close eye on you. I have not told the kids yet and will probably do that after my next scan which is June 22nd. If I can hold out, if not I don't think we have anything planned the weekend of the 18th so maybe I will have time to sit them down and tell them. It's hard keeping it a secret.
Margi- He did not test my levels ever for progesterone as they don't when you take the PIO shots. If I had switched to the suppositories he would have as your body can absorb differant amounts each time. I did call my OBGYN and she did tell me to continue till 10 weeks because at that point the placenta takes over completely and there will be no need to check my levels before discontinuing at that point. So sorry you are dealing with bed rest. It is very boring. I hope I don't ever have to do it again. Do they think you will be on bed rest the entire pregnancy?

lou,
First off, I am so happy your bean flavor is PINK!!! I just had a feeling about that. You look gorgeous in your "babymoon" pics....I am so glad you finally got your babymoon! I will keep dropping in occasionally to check on you and your pink baby bean!
Ok, here's my question, as you know since my loss a year ago, I have been trying to get in shape. I need ab help....I am doing crunches and planks, but still no flat abs....around the front sides is better, but still feel like I have a muffin top with pudding in the front. suggestions???
Love ya

June 2010, late miscarriage at 17 weeks, baby's heart just stopped beating.
Leora: Definitely keep resting and hang in there. I do wish that your OB would see you more frequently... Two weeks seems like a long time.
Amanda: I'm stalking for your update... While I'm hoping to hear that Maribel is staying put, at her gestational age, she should be fine if born now.
Sonya: Glad to hear that your happily baking away. You and I are both down to the finish line! Hopefully, your husband will be able to be present for the birth.
AFM: I'm big, I'm bored, I'm impatiently waiting for Brooke to arrive. The OB checked Brooke and her placenta yesterday and said that I can put my tray in the upright position as I am cleared for take-off! I originally had a low-lying placenta but it has raised up. I've got a lot of pressure, random stabbing/clawing pains in my cervix and BH contractions which the OB said is just prep for the big day. The OB will be checking me weekly until the big day and we're preregistered for the hospital so all that we have to do now is go into labor and show up at L&D. I'm healthy and probably more active than I should be - the doctor just said to eat good, drink water and listen to my body.

blair -- I'm so sorry about the loss of a triplet. That must be so sad. I think your outlook is healthy... that it can help the twins be healthier. What a sacrifice your little angel made for his/her sibs!
Leora -- So glad your cervix is holding steady and 3.6 from 3.3 is in the right direction! Keeping you in my thoughts. So sorry about another bleed also. You and poor Margi are dealing with that so often. I'm so glad your babies are looking good.
Ronda -- Thanks for still checking in on me! The "muffin" top is the hardest to get rid of unfortunately but NOT impossible! The reason is because this is where diet can have the most impact. Restrict your carbs to healthy carbs only (brown rice, whole grains, oatmeal, etc.) Eliminate refined carbs... i.e. anything white like sugar, white flour. And also don't eat carbs after lunchtime. This includes fruit. Combine that practice with at least 30 mins of cardio 3-4 days a week (preferably 4). And mix up your cardio... don't say always get on a treadmill for 30 minutes at a 4.0 speed. You need to vary the intensity. The best treadmill workout is to walk for 2 minutes, then sprint as fast as you can for 1 minute and repeat this 10 times. Try a spin class or bike outside and throw in some hills. Find things that are FUN so you look forward to them and keep doing them. You also want a full body weight training routine to do twice a week (~30 mins) with maybe a 5 min focus on abs. I love these and feel so good afterwards. Think squats, lunges, chest press, shoulder press, lat pulldowns, bicep curls, crunches. Do as much weight as you can and still do 15 reps. Repeat the circuit 3 times. I like to combine things... like a squat press for example. If you can stick to this, you will see (and others too) noticeable changes in 6 weeks and you will be seeing those ab muslces in 12-16 weeks. The bad news is, to keep them, you need to keep the routine. You can definitely cheat on the diet on occasion. My weakness is ice cream. But I only have one scoop. And I do try to keep my cheats to before 1PM. Good luck! Let me know how it works for you. I sure am missing that lifestyle but I know I'll be back to it before long.
AFM -- Aw.. thanks everyone who complimented my vacation pics. I had an OB appt yesterday and it was uneventful. Just left some pee and talked to my OB. She did say to expect possible bedrest at ~32 weeks and to deliver early ~36-37 weeks. This was news to me! Also, I volunteered to be a subject for sonography students at the community college last night and got to see my baby on u/s for 1.5 hrs! She was so funny... playing with her toes and sucking her thumb! She's measuring at about a pound and is 6 days ahead right now. I hope she continues to grow well. Hope everyone is having a great day!
