katie- i was getting headaches to for a few days. it must have something to do with the pregnancy.
claudia- im not sure exactly when but RE said in two weeks he'll do another ultrasound and then two weeks after that should be my last one and then off to the OB. he also said about 10 weeks he'll wean me off the progestorone and they'll check me too days after to make sure the baby is producing it well enough. so thats all the news i have for now.
gi- i havent talked to you in awhile. how are you lately?
Katie - Glad the deck is almost done. I bet you learned your lesson. lol I feel you about the headaches, I had mine everyday for around 5 weeks before they started letting up. My opinion is lack of iron. I heard that anemia can cause headaches and for the first 2 weeks I wasn't taking my supplements yet since no one called me to tell me that my iron was low at 11 weeks. I think it took a few weeks for my body to get on track and finally I am all better. Could also be extra blood flow from being preggers? I guess there are a few reasons they say headaches are a symptom of pregnancy. lol As for Andrew... never got the crib. The guy didn't have the tranny to replace it so they went to the pick and pull just to not find a single on there either. So He just got paid for taking a tranny out and that's it. We used that money to get him his father's day presents. Then the leave... well, he isn't getting it. It's gone in two days but they did give him the day off today... just so he can do another job. lol So he hasn't been home all day really. He wants to just give in and take his regular leave. I still want to fight for what Top said about giving him 2 weeks free. Though as you have read, he isn't good at his word.
Claudia - No worries! You are still early so you will notice it a little here and there but yes, a few days or more will go by where you will feel nothing. It all depends on how the baby is positioned too. I have been feeling the twins for sure since 16 weeks but not so much the little girl. I saw her moving on the u/s but still don't really feel her much. I think she is kicking her brother or my back. Every now and then I might feel a little something on her side, but not nearly as hard as her brother.
Natasha - Glad to hear you saw the hb and things are perfect. Isn't it an awesome feeling? I still look at the u/s's and think, Wow!
AFM - I got my doppler today... very tempted to use it now even though Andrew is out. lol I guess I should wait though. I think I am finally feeling more movement on my left side which is giving me more relief. She still isn't as strong as her brother. They are moving more and more every few days so I am sure it is just a matter of time before they are both kicking my arse. lol

TWINS!! Born 10/13/10 Ethan Andrew and Angelina Lilly
Claudia - I am feeling the twins everyday now, but some days more than others, and some days just one. At first it was just the little girl, then the other was moving a lot, and now it's like they take turns...so I don't usually feel them both every day. The doppler helps relieve any fears that something is wrong.
Steph - Have fun with the doppler! I definitely didn't wait for DH! HA, yea right! I've done it pretty much every other day for the past 7 weeks, and I think he's heard it two or three times. Heck, Scarlett has heard it more! You should be able to find the hb pretty quickly since you have a good idea of where they are. And by the way, it took longer for me to feel Baby A on my left side than Baby B. Maybe it's something with the left??
Katie - So sorry about the headaches. I had a couple of days of that (I do think iron may play a role), but sadly they are just a symptom for some women. Totally sucks.
Angela - Hope everything went well with your appt today!
AFM - I feel up and down. Sometimes I feel great, other times I feel totally gross. I've been laying down a lot, eating a lot (I've gained about 17 pounds), and I am already getting uncomfortable. I can't believe it, I'm only 17 weeks! However, I've also been feeling the babies more (for me it feels more like twinges stretching across about 5 inches of my abdomen rather than flutters or taps...though I do feel occassional taps). I'm hoping they both cooperate on Thursday so we can get a for sure on the genders, and of course that everything looks good. I always get a little nervous right before an u/s. I want to start setting up the room (or rooms...if it's two girls, we are moving Scarlett to a new room and they will take hers) before I get too much further along. I've been resting a lot, so hopefully I'll be able to keep bedrest away!
Hello Ladies – Here is a quick update ... my u/s went well today! The baby is doing well and measured perfectly on schedule. The u/s tech also thought that out baby is a GIRL! She said it is still kind of hard to tell at this point because the testicles have descended downward yet if it were a boy. So I guess each week we will confirm by our weekly u/s. If she is right, my DH’s dream was correct!!!!
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your pregnancy!
Angela - YAY for a girl! I knew he was right! So awesome everything looks great. How are you feeling? Did the UTI go away or did you get meds?
Babyluv - I did have fun with the doppler. lol I did wait for Andrew though, but he was home shortly after it got here. I found Ethan's hb right away since I feel him all the time I knew exactly where he was. Angelina was a lot harder to get. I had to really push to get her hb, but I think I finally got it. I am going to keep playing with it more. It was suppose to come with gel and it didn't so I want to call and complain but there is no number! UGH So I am either going to have fun trying to find the number or suck it up. I used lotion even though I wasn't suppose to. I just couldn't wait. lol I can't wait for Thursday and see if the other baby will spread 'em. Also hope you feel more ups then downs. I have been resting a lot simply because being up and about really hurts my belly, especially if I just ate.

Stephanie – I forgot to tell everyone that I did go to my HR OB’s office for a urinalysis and C & S and from the strips that they just use in the office, it looks like it was just contaminated because everything was clear but it will take 48 hours for the full test to be completed. So far so good ... thanks for asking!
Steph - I'm not sure whether Zorba will stick as a nickname, it's not an easy one to explain to people given that it came about because of the cheerful Greek doctor who did my egg collection last time around (we're not ashamed of having needed IVF and don't necessarily hide it, but nor do we go out of our way to tell people who don't already know that we had a harder time getting pregnant than some people do). Anyway, it might be an odd nickname if it's a girl! But I daresay it'll stick for a little while, even if just privately. We need to start thinking about proper names at some point, we've told ourselves we must try and start putting together our lists by the end of July (DH and I are going to do a top 10 list each and then swap, and see what names we agree on!). Oh hun, I'm so hoping that Andrew will get some of his leave and it won't all be lost through no fault of his own.
gi - OMG, what a scary weekend for your family. He's lucky to be alive, hope he is continuing to get better. How are things with you and the bump? Still feeling movement more and more? Do you have your 20 week anomaly scan soon?
Karen - hope you're doing OK. I was interested to read your scare with the excessive 'butterscotch' discharge - I've had increased discharge all the way through, and it's more often than not a darker creamy colour. I'd read that it's just one of the side effects associated with pregnancy, so I'd pretty much ignored it, although from time to time there's been a ton of it when I've wiped.
natasha - glad to hear that you had a good appointment on Sunday and hurray for a nice strong heartbeat.
katie - how's that deck looking? It's a scorching day here (by UK standards, anyway) - I tried to sit outside to have my lunch but the heat did me in after about 45 minutes, so I've been thinking of you trying to get the painting finished in hot weather! Sorry to hear about the headaches, they are definitely a pregnancy thing but I'm sure working outside in the warm weather doesn't help so make sure you're drinking a ton of water. Hahaha, no, we didn't buy out the store on Friday but the credit card is still recovering from the shock! We got the major decisions made and have ordered our buggy, car seat and nursery furniture (plus we bought bedding etc), so it feels like we made a lot of progress. It's starting to feel quite real now! Hopefully the stuff we ordered will all get delivered sometime in the next 3-4 weeks and then I can start pottering around the nursery. The rest of the things we need, like newborn clothes/wipes/nappies, I think we will try and get in one trip within the next month or so, but there's no rush as it's all stuff we can buy off the shelf.
claudia - try not to worry about Flick, the movements I felt from Zorba were very off and on in the early days. Whenever I got worried, I used to tell myself that the movements were still there, but that if the baby had turned to face my spine rather than my stomach, the kicks would be landing internally so I wouldn't feel them. The other thing which makes a difference, even now, is how active I am during the day. If I'm on my feet and doing things all day, I don't generally feel a thing, and the times of the day when I do feel movements are when I'm sitting on the sofa or lying down. It's almost as if the motion of me walking/moving about makes the baby sleep, and then it wakes up when its little world goes 'still'. The sugary drink trick is a good one though - Zorba does tend to have a burst of activity when I eat or drink.
babyluv - so happy to hear that all is going well. Can't believe you're at 17 weeks already, do you find that time is going really quickly now in the second trimester? Fingers crossed that the babies co-operate on Thursday and you get to find out what flavours you're having.
Angela - how fantastic that your u/s went well. And it's likely to be another girl on the thread! Thank goodness that it looks all clear for the uti, although the cranberry juice etc is a good idea anyway.
AFM, I'm still feeling quite a lot of Zorba movement, although I think it is starting to slow down now that the baby is getting a little bigger. Zorba's been positioned with his/her head down and spine up the left side of my stomach since at least my week 25 midwife appointment, and it's only recently occured to me that the movements I've ever felt have all been quite low down and below the level of my belly button, so they must be punches rather than kicks. Seems I'm carrying a little thug! I've just started to feel the legs and feet, I think, as a really uncomfortable pressing sensation underneath my ribcage. It's pretty uncomfortable when I do feel it, so I can only imagine that the last 11 weeks are going to be less and less easy as the thug gets bigger! And my heartburn still sucks! Otherwise, all good this end and I'm still managing to play golf a few times a week and stay reasonably active generally, so I'm happy.

Steph - KY Jelly is supposed to work well as a lube for the doppler, so you could always try that. Also, I'm sure baby girl must have her back to you if you have to push so hard (the jelly will help with that) and since you don't feel her as much. But so fun that you tried it! I just used mine this morning.
Angela - Glad your appt went well! How awesome if you are having another girl! I can't wait until you are a little further along so they can really confirm. Yay!
Hazel - I am with you on the heat! Most days it's over 100 degrees F with the humidity, so I've been indoors as much as possible. We've had a lot of afternoon rain which has helped. Hopefully you won't get TOO much more uncomfortable in the next 11 weeks...can you believe you have LESS THAN THREE MONTHS before Zorba is here??!
AFM - DS has a nightmare last night that Spiderman was chasing him, and he has been freaking out ever since. He rarely (and I mean maybe once a year) has nightmares, and never this bad. The weird thing is, I don't even know where we SAW Spiderman! He's my sensitive one, so I am very careful what he can watch...and normally it's Disney cartoons or educational shows on PBS. DH laid with him for over 20 min and then let him sleep in the guest room. Of course he didn't think to take him potty at 3am and let him sleep ON TOP of the down comforter in the guest room (he was too scared to go back to his own room), which is now at the dry cleaners because of an accident. Sigh. Poor little guy. He has been asking me non stop what to do if Spiderman comes back, where is he now, etc. I prayed with him, we talked a lot, and I was able to get him into his room for quiet time (I think he's actually asleep), but oh my. I am trying to be patient, but I am getting tired of it! I can only make up stuff so fast about Spiderman getting a spanking and being in time out in a place too far away for us to go!
BTW - Last night he said it was Superman, this morning Spiderman, so I'm not sure what he actually remembers and what has become part of his imagination this morning. Either way, I've never seen him so freaked out by a dream.
Natasha i am grand thanks for asking, congrats on the heart beat ye must be thrilled
Claud you had me worried last wk when you said you were feeling flick twice a day and i nearly panicked as i dont feel kayla every day and i am further than you!!! Though yesterday and today i think i had a lot of movements but i am still at the stage going is that her???? I dont think we will ever relax!!
Angela ah a little girl!!! At our 12 wk scan our nurse had a look between the legs but said she couldnt see anything, we were wondering was it perhaps a girl then and at 17 wk scan our OB said he is nearly positive it is a girl.
Steph how cool to hear their little heartbeats!
Katie how are the headaches? I get them on and off but been on the baby aspirin seems to help.
babyluv 17lbs seems to me a normal weight gain for twins, i am 19 wks with one and have put on about 12 pounds! though lots of people tell me i look much better with the weight gain and my fuller cheeks!!
Hazel thanks for asking my bil is doing great and hopefully should be allowed home next wk. I have my anatomy scan in 2 wks time ( i will be 21 wks) with a midwife though my OB did one at 17 wks so hopefully not much change. Glad to hear zobra is doing great though sounds like a little boy who loves boxing!!
AFM has anyone had much round ligament pain?? When turning in my sleep last night i had a really bad stabbing pain near my left hip bone it was only for a sec and i think it was from turning too quickily, its still slightly tender if i sit a certain way, i dont think its anything bad (fingers crossed) but i gotta start to remember to move more slowly in future!!! We are minding my sisters and bils pup while they are in hosp and oh how i have forgotten what energy pups have!!!

7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!
Its TRIPLETS!!!!
Gi - I get those pains mostly at night from turning too fast. Mine last a little longer and I can't move while I am having them. I just have to wait to continue moving till it goes away. Don't worry about it, I get it too sometimes when I get up to quickly. In those cases I end up standing there hunched over till it goes away.
Babyluv - I will have to go get some regular KY, thanks! I have the massaging heat KY but not sure I should use that. lol As far as DS, I recommend telling him that you spoke with both Superman and Spiderman's mom and they won't be visiting his dreams again. Maybe even explain that it was a misunderstanding and they were not chasing him but trying to help him?? I remember my DD use to have nightmares a lot, but those were mostly about losing us... mostly Andrew when he was deployed. Nightmares are never fun.
Hazel - I like your idea on how to come up with names. That would be great if out of the 10 each that 1 boy and 1 girl name matches. That would leave no need for compromise and everyone is happy. Though I can see how Zorba can stay a nickname, even if it is privately. I am sure however, that there will be many other cute little nicknames you will come up with as you get to see the personality grow. As far as your little thug.. lol.. I feel you there. Though mine are still breech I think so what I feel down towards the bottom must be feet? I feel it mostly down there and only sometimes further up. If any one is punching, it's Ethan since I only feel the higher ones on the right side.
Angela - Glad to know that everything looks good. I am sure when it comes back it will still say good to go. Glad you didn't take an extra trip just to find out the test was contaminated and everything was fine. That might have made you a little upset. I know with pg hormones on top of that, maybe strangle a nurse as well.
AFM - Playing with that doppler can be fun and annoying at the same time. lol I thought I found Angelina's hb later last night, but then couldn't find Ethan's. Then when going back to the left side, I couldn't find hers again... so then I moved it all over the darn place and couldn't find anything! I gave up and now I am reluctant to try again so far today, though I am sure I will give in at some point. These kids are already starting to play hide and seek. lol
We finally have a court date... as of July 7th Alexandria will be a Ford! We are all excited and can't wait. She has been asking for this for 4 years now, but two deployments and moving around stopped us. Not to mention I had to convince the ex to give up his rights. At first he wouldn't do it just because he wanted her to keep his last name. How vain? Anyway, once I told him I wouldn't go after him for back child support (which is A LOT) he agreed. Alex is so excited to go to school with a knew last name that she is proud of and can't wait to see the Judge say she is finally adopted. It's almost like a second birth for her that she gets to remember forever.

Steph - Yea, definitely the jelly...it needs to be thick. I bet you will have an easier time finding the hb then. However, because they are getting bigger and moving so much, it will be hard to get a reading for too long. I used to be able to hold the doppler in place and keep it there for a few min. Now I'm lucky if I get 10 seconds at a time! I think it's easier for me since I've been using it for so long and gradually I noticed them moving more. The fun think now that I can HEAR them moving! All those little bumps and screeches on the machine are them kicking (or so I believe) because I didn't get that before. It's another thing that has been gradually increasing.
Gi - I get those pains also. Sometimes they are just so random.
Babyluv - Tried it with the jelly and yes, much better!! I can definately hear them moving. When I wasn't finding the HB's I just sat there for a while listening to them move and kick, being able to feel some of them and hear them at the same time. That was fun. Though it still is hard to find the HB's I definately could hear better with the jelly and found both of them for sure. They really do move around in there. This is going to be a fun toy, but it's a messy one. lol Thanks for the advice!

hi girls. Just checking in on all of you. Sounds like everyone is doing well.
I am glad to see that Helene was asked to leave the group. I am so upset about her trying to create her family by a specific gender and going to give the baby away if it was the wrong sex. I am really struggling with my loss and would be so happy to still be pregnant, regardless of the sex. Makes me angry she was allowed to adopt embroyos when there are so many other couples that would love the baby regardless of the sex.
Not sure how much I will post, but I still seem drawn to this site.....but then it upsets me to be here. Damn if I do and damned if I don't. I am so happy that things are going well for all of you, but its hard not to look and see where I would be in my pg, if I was still pregnant. I think its especially hard knowing there will be no more attempts for me and I will never be pregnant again. Hopefully in time I will come to terms with that. I am so grateful to have my girls, and am very lucky to have them....I just so wanted this baby too.
We are going to go to TN in Ocotober, rented the cabin. Thankfully we made the reservation before I got my hospital bill, otherwise I would have said we couldn't afford to go. Just seems wrong to get the big bill and no baby. I look at the cabin we rented everyday, but would still much rather be pg then going on vaca.
Had to start taking water pills, I am so swollen, worried that I will end up having to have a D&C after all. Will follow up with doc again in a few days and hope I am not so puffy anymore. I am assuming its because of the hormone upheaval my body is in.
luv you all

ronda- i am so sorry for your loss. i hope you go on vacation and take your mind off of things for a bit and to relax and enjoy your vacation. hopefully the swollening goes down and you dont need a d&c.
angela- im so happy for you. your DH's dream was right. sounds like it'll be a girl. congrats.
gi- i hope you dont worry too much. take it easy. your getting close your halfway there your almost 20 weeks. I bet you have a cute round tummy by now.
Ronda - Ah, honey my heart breaks for you still. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I think of you and Lou often. I miss you both so much. I know God has a plan , but it sure feels wrong sometimes and this is one of those times. I hope your vacation helps to renew you and DH. Enjoy your little girls and I hope that your swelling reduces and that you can move forward. We're always here for you. Big hugs to you my friend - xoxoxo
Steph - Whoo Hoo for your dopplar (and ky too) I hope that now you can hear that little girl is just being cozy with her brother and will resume kicking you instead of him soon - hee hee. Ugh it just blows that Andrew's leave has disappeared, what are they thinking I wonder? Its not an easy life as an Army wife, I know. I hope that they manage to give him some time off at least. Now girl how are you dealing with the TX heat? its so damn hot & sticky here that I dread being outside! I didnt mind it so much in my 20's but it seems like each year I hate the hot weather more and more. You poor thing you must be dying with twice the pregnancy and twice the discomfort. Ahh, we'll all get through it I'm sure - xoxo
Babyluv - Same here. Some days are great and others I just cant get comfy no matter what. The nights are the worst though, if its set to be an uncomfortable night its like doing bed aerobics all night with the tossing & turning all night long. I cant wait to hear your u/s results and see if it really is a boy that was hiding the goods
Angela - Hooray for a great u/s and most likely a girl! Do you want me to update the list with a girl blinkie? or wait til the next u/s?
Hazel - I love the way you all will be choosing a name! I hope that you have to go through the negotiations that I 've had to. You got alot done in one trip you must be so excited! But why will they take so long to deliver the furniture? X'd that it comes sooner for you. I'm thrilled to hear that you still feel good enough to play some golf! Ha Ha Zorba acting like a "thug" with punches instead of kicks - who knows? you may just have the next Lennox Lewis or Ricky Hatton in there ( my fave UK boxers) I'm so envious that you're close to done - eeek we havent really started yet just have a carrier and stroller so far. Now it really seems like the time is just flying by, doesnt it? How are you dealing with excersising your pups? Some days Gracie gives me an awful time -she's a stubborn girl - xoxo
Gi - oh yes, I get those pains too. Its hard to remember to move slowly sometimes. but that really does help. Glad to hear that your sis's man is doing better now, and take it easy watching their pup, nothing like a wound up puppy when you're pregnant, right?
AFM - Hooray that darned deck is finally done! Good thing too cause I am so sick of painting! And it looks like we will be going with the name Ryan, chris seems enamored by it. I hope we wont regret using a semi boy's name, but I am tired of negotiating it by now. I feel pretty good and during the day I feel nothing, but as soon as I lay down to sleep or read the baby starts doing what I think is gymnastics in there! its out of control! I think we've gor ourselves a true night owl - and possible gymnast or acrobat - sigh
hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo
