Hey Gargy,
Welcome to our site, and yep, Tiger is one fantastic gal for setting up this thread, it's been a lifeline for lots of us over the last couple of years. My story is that I have severe endo, I have a two year old daughter Annie who was the result of a FET transfer, and Eleanor (Ellie) who is four months and who was a natural pregnancy (and a bit of a shock to be honest!). I'm 34 years old and my hubby is 39 and we've pretty much decided that two is a great number of kids.

Where abouts do you live and where are you accessing fertility treatment? Wishing you all the very best with your journey and looking forward to hearing some good news from you very soon.

Hi Ladies,

I've been swanning around in the other topics for a while, but also reading
this one. Pretty useful for some local knowledge. It seems to me that
Our Aussie clinics do things a bit differently than the US ones...for example the drs over there seem to prescribe baby asprin (which I don't
think is available here) and also acupuncture?? Have any of you had those
things recommended??

Hey Belinda,

I live in western Sydney and I am going through Westmead IVF.

Hey Fee,

I've noticed on another site based in Australia that a number of women are using acupucture as a complimentary treatment. Haven't heard of the asprin though...

Hi guys and welcome to Fee,

Fee, I used accupuncture prior to the FET cycle that resulted in Annie's conception, so yep, I'm a big believer!!..My consultant was anti-aspirin use, I I understand it is supposed to aid implantation following embie transfer??.

All the best

Hiya Ladies,

Gargy and Fee welcome! so nice to see newbies popping in, I hope this year is one for all three of us and Ange too.

My storey is a very boring one, I have severe endo = blocked tubes  . I embarked on my first IVF while I was living in Japan. That tmt was cancelled at an early stage, even before injections . That was back in Jul/Aug 2005, AF didn't return for 2.5 months. And then Life circumstance interferred in 2006 and missed out on tmt altogether, AHHH!! 2007, this year I plan to return to OZ on my own for tmt after my work contract ends on first week of May(hubby and I will be separated again... crappo )! I should be back on tmt around September, can't wait. Oh, I am with Melbourne IVF  .

Chat again soon, Cheers, Tiger

PS Never heard of baby asprin bizzo......

Hey Polly,

Pleased that you came over to our thread, welcome!
Just a thought, I used to look after the library for my local fertility clinic (in Brisbane, Qld) and know that we had a few books on donor issues..I could get you current librarian contact details if that would be useful..maybe he/she could flick you a list of possible titles for you to access..but then maybe you're already read as much as you want to?? Let me know what you'd like to do..I'd be happy to help out however I can.

Take care and good luck!

Hi Gargy and Polly, Angie here - I hang out on some of the other threads but it's good to know there are Aussies and Kiwis around on the same time zone. I am just starting my 2nd (fresh) cycle - also had a FET at the end of last year.

Am hoping 2007 is a lucky year as 2006 sure wasn't!

Will be starting the lovely nasal spray in a week or so.

Tiger - good to hear you are coming back to Melb IVF later in the year. Hope the wait goes quickly for you.

Keep in touch girls

Hello all, do you have any recommendIVF doctors in Brisbane?

Post by Mango »

Hi Tiger, and all at Aussie & Kiwi thread.

I'm a new member of this forum, and has just moved in Brisbane, QLD, Australia. I posted this email in IVF section, but heard about this thread.
I am desperate to get information about IVF doctors and institution in Brisbane......
We are planning to start IVF treatment soon, but would like to have more information... I heard about there are two private hospitals for IVF; QFG and Wesley hospital. I appreciate if you could share your IVF experience in those institutions. Is there any other recommended IVF doctor or hospital in Brisbane?
I also would like to know if there is any recommended IVF doctors who work at public hospitals, or the name of public hospitals in Brsiabane. (I'm a medicare holder, but has just joined private insurance and still in the waiver period.)

Good luck to you all who are trying to have a baby....!!!!
Thanks a lot!
Regards,

Mango

Hi Everyone! I'm still here...I was just on holiday in Perth (if you can call it a holiday....more morning sickness and lets add a couple bouts of sinusitis just to keep things fun!)

Welcome Gargy, Polly and Mango. I hope we can support you as we all were.

My story is short but good. Have been TTC for 5 years, we had 3 unsuccessful IUI's and then switched to IVf which has resulted in me being 16 weeks pregnant with twins! We are Unexplained, which is frustrating but it has worked for us in the end, so I'm happy. I have very bad morning sickness though, so you'll get used to me moaning......

Mango, I used QFG and have had no complaints. Our tmt costs for IVF only put us out of pocket around $1500 and we have 9 frosties left in the freezer to extend our family. They have a great support group called Friends of QFG which regularly hold get togethers. We used David Lingard (who is now my obstetrician - is lovely!) but also heard great things about Bob Watson and Warren De Ambrosis.

Talk soon,

Em
