carolyn, I never had to take BCPs, so I never thought about what you said and are so right about, how when you are TTC, seems ironic to have to take them --
And of course, with such a great success rate, your acupuncturist will make it 4 out of 5!
I think the moodiness just comes with the meds and the underlying stress -- I read that until your body adjusts to the new influx of hormones, it is just going to be a side effect. Some experience it more extreme than others.
Carolyn, if you think you are hungry now, just wait till you are pregnant! It seems you are always hungry for something. It isn't like you eat because you are just bored or stressed, or think you should, but you really do get hungry.

poohgirl - I live in southwestern Germany, not far from the french and swiss borders. When were you last here for a visit? Does your DH have family here?

Hi to chriss, jules, kelly, jenB and LuAnne!

Looking forward to hearing about your scan on Friday, Carolyn! You are getting so close! Hooray!!

xx summer

Summer we were there July 2001, we were in Munich and travel all over southern Germany and austria, france and Switzerland. My husband's family was orginally from Germany and Norway though no-one now. My husband Mike did a exchange student thing and we stayed with a friend he exchanged with. It was pretty there and everyone was so nice, even if I only spoke like 10 words of german :? I must say your english is very good are you orginally from Germany?? The first thing I learned in German was stau you guys have a lot of those there

Carolyn one day closer! I can't wait to hear about the scans!!

You know that you have been doing this a long time when your STD testing is now out of date, what's funny the closest thing to sex lately is the ultrasound machine  :P :) So I get to do that next week while we wait for our donor to get her psychological testing---maybe they should test me---lol.

Well here in Wisconsin it is bedtime since I have to get up early to be to work at 7am. Chat with you all later!

Hi poohgirl - thanks for the compliment on my English! I am actually an American who happens to live in Germany. :D My husband is German. Don't worry, you are not the first person to say that to me! And you are right, I also find the people here to be quite friendly!
Good luck with your ultrasound next week!

to Carolyn - sending you some more PMA for a great lining check on Friday!

Hope all will be fine today! I also never had a problem, but was on a lower dosage of meds this time (new clinic, new ideas...) and my 1st scan wasn't looking good, which made me completely nervous. They upped my meds and two days later, everything was perfect and went according to plan.

So, have no fear, you'll do great today!! Thinking of you.

this thread? egg recipients?

Post by gigi »

Is this thread currently active? the dates are 2007 and few 2009...so I"m confused.

I am considering an egg donor. I just miscarried again naturally (the 2nd one in a year). Any recipients out there who could share their experience after the birth of a child with an egg donor? We have a child naturally between my husband and I but want another and am curious how the recipients are doing emotionally after having a baby with an egg donor. I am almost 42 so my eggs are having some serious growing pains. Would love to hear from you awesome recipient mommas.

okay...now i get the date thing....oops

I have been looking at the dates joined versus current date submitted. So this is an active thread...yeah!

Would love some feedback from you all about being an egg recipient. It's a 6 month wait at my clinic. So we are going to try again naturally to see if that works while waiting. I just want to make sure I"m ready emotionally. Are most of you keeping this confidential from everyone? I've read that most parents keep it confidential if they have other siblings...and that makes sense to me. Any opinions on this?

Hi Gigi,
Welcome!!! I am in the donor process now. Sounds like though they need to do a work up on you to make sure you don't have a underlying issue. I know after my miscarriage my RE ran tons of blood work like for clotting disorders and autoimmune issues you will want to get that ruled out before going the donor route because if that is a issue you will miscarry the donor embies and that would be horrible. If your doc didn't offer any testing demand it! Because a clotting issue can be taken care of and you might not need a donor.

Hope this helps!

fantastic carolyn!!!! :D :D :D Great news about your lining! Looks like there will be lots of eggs for you to fill your basket with, with some to save for later --
Hope you were able to get your flights booked - Ready or not, you are on your way to being PUPO!! Hooray! Good luck with everything! Sending you lots of PMA and sticky baby dust!

gigi
- welcome! If you read back, there are posts from women named, kelly and luanne - both have become mothers using egg donation within the last year. I recently became pregnant using donor eggs.
I think poohgirl made some good points that you can really consider, to make sure that the problem lies with your eggs and not anywhere else.
Best of luck with your decision making.

Hi to everyone and have a great weekend, egg-heads!

Carolyn - have a great flight and enjoy your travels in and around Prague, then just take a deep breath before your transfer, and before you know it you'll be coming home with some very nice and valuable souveniers from Prague.
How much time will you have off before having to go back to work? Try to take it easy and let DH pick up the slack, while you work on making a baby... :D
For a bit of good luck, here is some more PMA and lots of baby dust!!

all the best! this is your time!!
