My doctor wanted to see me to make sure my cervix is not shrinking...Thats so scary!!!!! its only 19wks.... i have hopefully 15 more weeks (fingers crossed). Also another issue i am having is sleeping on either side of my body because 2 of the babies are on the sides and i feel like im gonna crush them, it really hurts and bothers me emotionally thinking i may be hurting them... anyway i will find out today what is happening and let you ladies know... Have a good day Ladies....

Hayley where are you?? Hope you are ok ...

Hello Ladies

I hope you are all well. It's horrible here now, don't think I'm going to be giving a weather update anymore, just take it that it's horrible unless I say otherwise! lol

Kareen how are you? Have you tried any fish yet? If you don't like it much how about trying a white fish as that doesn't have too much flavor - so yes I can hear you ask, what's the point then! lol It's still brain food for the little ones.

I love prawn cocktail on jacket potato but I don't know if I'm supposed to be eating prawns?

Lol Tammy it does sound busy in your house! We have a black lab and only one hamster (peanut - the other one - died last month) but with all the girls it does feel like a zoo sometimes especially when they bring people round! Still, I love having a busy house, and yes it's definately that!

Riley how's your boss? In future if he refuses to go home then you go! How's everything else going?

Zoe congratulations on reaching 28 weeks. So is it now count down or when does that start? After Emma and Jodie both coming at 35 weeks I don't think I could wait until I got everything ready. I have made Paul empty one of his drawers in our bedroom and have a few babygrows in there. The rest of the stuff is in the loft at the moment but only really because we don't have space. Paul needs to paint the girls room and then I will get everything down and ready but maybe not till after Christmas. If I had my way I'd do it now. I hate it when I can't help and as I'm already suffering I think I'm just going to have to be project manager!!

The girls are all really excited about the new arrival. Before we even started treatment we sat Hannah and Alice down and spoke to them. Although ultimately it was mine and Paul's decision it was still down to what they wanted too. They were both great. Alice went a little stroppy in the beginning (but then what teenager doesn't) but she is really excited now. Emma is fine about it as long as it's a girl and Jodie just goes with the flow although after every hospital appointment she asks me if the baby's coming today!

I do feel sorry for you with the piles. Not the nicest thing at all. I used to suffer terribly and (turn away if your eating) ended up having them injected to get rid of them. You will have to take a rubber ring around with you but then that's just as good as walking round with a sandwich board advertising the fact! lol

Justine you look lovely. I struggle walking up town let alone up a mountain!

Vita I hope all goes well at the doctors. I've never experienced that but infections are really common during pregnancy so hopefully that's all it is and you will be sorted with antiboiotics. I'm sorry you're suffering so much with sleep. It's awful. Have you tried wedging some pillows around you?

Hayley moved house last week so is probably busy painting everywhere pink! But yes I hope she's ok too.

I'm good. We saw the consultant yesterday. He was strange to say the least! He said oh I see you had a previous section and I said yes and I would like another one this time so he went on to say that they perform sections at 39 weeks because they prevents the baby going into special care, I said well it will be in special care anyway because of my diabetes and he went oh you're diabetic! Don't you just love it when they have fully read your notes!

Saw the diabetic team too and they have changed my insulin. They seemed really nice and was very thorough so feel better.

Everyone else is great. Just got an appointment through for Jodie to have her ph study and er barrium swallow which is on the 30th of this month.

I'm sorry I leave such long posts. I'm a PA (so I type at 95 wpm) so my fingers just type and before I know it they are about a mile long!

Do you have any plans for the weekend? MIL is having the little ones tomorrow night and we are going for a curry with Alice and her boyfriend which is quite sweet. Hannah doesn't want to come, she's going to a party, which is great because it's her first one she's been allowed to go to for a year and half (ex-boyfriend not allowing her to).

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Speak soon

Jo

lol you make me smile, yes I can see you here too!

I never used to like tuna but now I chop up an onion, add mayo and some mint sauce and it's gorgeous! Lovely in a nice crusty roll. Mmm me hungry! lol

The first half of the pregnancy is awful. It's like the forgotten time. I think with us because we had so many appointments before getting pregnant, and we really had a close eye on us makes it so much worse. We've gone from going to the clinic 3 x a week to being seen once every four week! You will be seen more after about 28 weeks. You are a high risk pregnancy so will see someone a lot more than a low risk one. I have to go every two weeks now but that's mainly for the diabetic clinic, I see the consultant in 4 weeks then from 28 weeks I'll be having scans every couple of weeks to check on their growth.

I got a leaflet through the door yesterday about scans. I'm so tempted to go and have a gender one. I know I have my one in three weeks but if they can't see then they aren't bothered. Whereas if I paid to have it done and they can't see they would make me have a walk and come back until they can! I just so want to know what it is now. Most of you know and it's not fair! lol (can you just pass me back my teddies)!

Going to go to the shop now as I fancy a jacket potato and mine aren't big enough!

Take care

Hi Ladies,

Abbie-welcome!!!

Jo- I'm glad your appointment went well. I hear you on the dr not reading up. I haven't gotten sick from my boss hanging around here so far. Thank goodness. I will take your advice next time.

Kareen- I have an appointment on Monday and am hoping everything is ok. I agree a month is too long. We should be able to pop in once a week and have them check for the HB and be on our way. I just keep thinking, is there still a baby in there? I haven't been sick, I've just been tired, so keep having to remind myself I'm pg. I wish I would start showing already!!

Hi everyone else, hope your all well.

you are right, weekly appointments would be great....infact they should supply pregnant women with dopplers!!!
im sure your appointment monday will be grand and all will be fine....

Hey Ladies,

Welcome to all of our new 2nd trimester buddies~

Well ladies, as i mentioned in my prior post i was having alot of pink discharge earlier in the week, my doctor confirmed that i have a low lying placenta.. (placenta previa) ... i guess this means even further bed rest for me... He mentioned about the numbing of my hands as swelling, so if any of you ladies feeling this remove your jewels, it just might not come off after a few days... I wasnt able to see the babies as he concentrated on my cervix and placenta, but he mentioned they are doing well. I guess thats all that matters..... OK im kinda upset at the docs office 2 weeks ago they ran the AFP blood test on me and yesterday they told me the lab company and the state doesnt allow this screening for triplets...DUHHH i mentioned this to the nurse but she was sure that they would except it..im upset because i have the worst arms for veins and i go through about 5-6 pokes before they find a vein... so anyway the test was done for no reason and also i wont know for sure if anything is genetically wrong with my babes. But to be honest it really doesnt matter because GOD forbid had anyof the them have anything i wouldnt have an abortion regardless.

So how are the rest of you ladies doing??
With Gods Blessings BFP!

morning girls....

vita..... thankfully low lying placentas are common in pregnancy.... and usually dont cause harm... infact ive read and heard from friends that as the pregnancy progresses placentas can move up..... as for bed rest... im sure you wont complain... carrying 3 babies must take its toll on your back... lying on the sofa, surrounded by goodies(mmmmm) remote controls....a good book and the phone.... well need i say more :?: ...oh a maid would be great....so you would need a bell too  ... as long as you and your babies are ok im sure you dont mind resting.... as for the blood tests.... with multiples they normally come back a bit higher... i havnt had blood taken since 12weeks... ive heard nothing since.. but i will ask at my appointment next week about them... i know age is a big factor... like you, i hope my results are low...but as i said having more than one, plus age and other factors make that risk a bit higher but god willing us to have more than one, he wouldnt put us in a position we couldnt cope with..... take care my friend....

hope everyone else is well...jo...hayley...justine....kelly....tammy...zoe and all you other ladies.....

as for me... im fine...apart from being tired... every night its the same.. its such an effort to turn round in bed... darren said the amount of noise i make is a terror  .... im up a bout 3 times.....then this tingling in my hands and wrist.... my god, in the morning i look at my palms and they are blotchy red....infact you would think i'd been riding a bike all night... this carpal tunnel thingy is a pain.... all i need now is cramps in my legs.. :!: ...
anyway...i hope you all have a good weekend... im going for dinner this evening.... darren's uncle is home for a few days then flying off to america on monday so most of the family(about 20+) are all going for dinner too.... im dreading it....obviously im looking forward to eating lots but i dont know about the rest of ya but since being pregnant and my growing bump, i seem to always get food on my top....if i slouch over the table when eating, i feel the babies squirrming so i know im squashing them plus its too sore.....but if i sit normal by the time ive loaded my fork and directing it to my mouth im wearing the food.... .... i suppose it could be worse.....i might not of been invited....lol.... right enough of my ramblings...

bye girls...

Hello Ladies:

We had our scan on Thursday and I asked the sonographer to confirm his sex. She said to us, "there is one leg, there's the other and there is his third leg. The little guy had his winky sticking straight up. Everything on the ultrasound looked good. All measurements were right on track. The only thing that they found was an "Intracardiac Echogenic Foci" on his heart. They call it a "bright spot". The doctor said that it should not impact his heart and that it should continue to develop normally. She did say however, that this condition sometimes indicates an increased risk for downs syndrome. She also said that she personally had never seen a baby with just this condition (and nothing else) have downs. I was a little upset so we decided to have the 2nd trimester screening (quad marker test). The doctor said that we could have the amnio test if we wanted to but DH and I decided that since it is invasive and could cause a miscarrige to forgo it. Having the amnio would not change anything for us. We would not abort! Hopefully, our second trimester blood screening will come back good. The results from our 1st trimester screening were very good. My risks of having a baby with downs is only 1:820. I love this little guy and would do nothing to jeopardize him. Being an engineer, I of course, have been doing research on this condition. There are studies with various results. Some studies seem to indicate that this condition by itself should not increase your risks of downs, but others say it does. I'm just going to pray that my little guy is born healthy.

Vita: You better take it easy. Luckily for me, I have not had any trouble with the low lying placenta.

Kareen: I hope your carpal tunnel gets better and you get more sleep. I am constantly tossing and turning, especially when my chocolate lab, Max hops in bed with us. Have fun at your dinner tonight. My belly button is very tight also. It will probably pop in the next few weeks.
Maybe you could call ahead and talk to your sonographer before Thursday. Tell him/her your situation about Darren not wanting to know the sex. Tell her/him that you will call back later to get the info. If you look closely, you can tell for yourself if you have boys. Their little winkies are very recognizable. Just look between their legs.

Abbie: Welcome to the 2nd trimester site.

Hello to Jo, Justine, Hayley, Kelly, Rileydee and Zoe.

I'm going to decorate for Halloween today. It is very beautiful here with all of the changing colors.

Take care all,
Tammy

tammy....

how are you?... im sorry about the worry now on your shoulders... the 'bright spot' on the babys heart..dont worry about it... i know thats easier said than done....
a girl near me gave birth a few weeks ago... the baby has downs... never once was this picked up on ultrasound....the only way of knowing exactly is by amnio or cvs..... or at birth....
the 'bright spot' normally for a baby showing downs it appears on their bowel more than heart.... also their bones on their legs and arms appears shorter and the same for their fingers.... and nose.....

no matter what anyone says i know you will worry... i'd be the same... tammy my fingers are crossed for your little boy...but im sure he will be perfect......

take care
love kareen....

p.s thanks for wishing me fun tonight... i will be busy watching i dont spill food over me :P ...i had an accident earlier... own fault... had a warm bubble bath...i was pampering myself... put my face pack on(no difference)...shaved my legs(what i could reach of them anyway)...as i will be wearing a thong this evening i decided to 'trim' my bikini line.. :( disaster!!!!!!!!!! i cut myself....'there'.... ouch.....ive stuck a band aid on it... now its quite stuck..... i will say no more.... im sure the details have painted a thousand pictures

Kareen:

Thanks so much for your post! It was very reassuring. All of my baby's measurements (arms and legs) were normal!! I have to have faith that my little guy will be healthy. I have been praying everyday.

Your post made me laugh about trimming your bikini line  I tried to trim mine this morning, but it is becoming more difficult because of my big bump.

Have a wonderful time tonight. DH and I went out last night for Italian food to celebrate the sale of a property of ours. Unfortunately, I could not have a glass of wine with DH. However, it was nice to get out.

Take care,
Tammy
