We had "the big ultrasound" appointment yesterday. All three babies are staying at the same wieght and size. Doctor says they are doing even better than expected!! But I am still sad. . . . . . . I know I shouldn't be. I have two adopted sons and we found out that all three babies are boys. While I thank god everyday for my gift of invetro and that I am able to have babies at all. I am still very pupset and depressed that I am having all boys. I just want one little girl!!! So the quest is on. We are going to start the process not to adopt agian. It will take afew years so if we start now then maybe by the time we are ready for another one we can. One way or another I will get a girl!!!! So now I am stuck with the whole naming thing. We only have one boy name!!! We like uniquic names but still county or southern names.

I hope everyone is doing well! Have not been reading to much on here lately. Where are all the updates ladies! LOL
Two adopted boys and hoping to have finally convieved one (or two)

I am so glad that you have three healthy triplets!!! Just think, those boys are going to be best friends growing up. You will have your girl one day, but for some reason, God felt it best to give you all boys at first. We don't typically understand the "whys", but just know that there is a reason for it and you will see how great you life will be with a house full of boys.

Update
I went back to the specialist and the OB yesterday. The babies weigh 2lbs 11 oz, 2lbs 5 oz, and 2 lbs 14 oz (Baby A, B, and C respectively). Babies A and B are the identical boys. Baby C has consistently been slightly bigger than Baby A. Babies A & C are in the 45-55% for their weight, while Baby B is in the 30%. I get so nervous bc he is so much smaller, but the doctors say that as long as he is above 10% he is fine. Anyone else had to deal with this?

The OB wants to start seeing me every week now. So from now on, every Wed I will be back for examination. My cervix 3 weeks ago was 2.8cm (28mm) and yesterday it was 2.5cm (25mm). They still aren't concerned about the length of it, but it is softening. So they will keep a good eye on it.

This third trimester had turned out to be the toughest physically to go through. I am more uncomfortable, and have more random pains here and there. I asked the doctor when he thought the ideal week would be for me to deliver. He is shooting for 35 weeks. He said that based on my pregnancy thus far, he wouldn't doubt that I could make it to 37 weeks, but he doesn't want to risk anything happening in those two weeks. So I will be 29 weeks tomorrow. This means I only have about 6 weeks left...so exciting.

Oh, I had a baby shower this weekend. We had over 100 ppl turn out. We got so many gifts...it was amazing.

I can't wait to hear back from everyone.

Allison how are you? How are those little angels?

Hi Ladies, I have finally re-surfaced, just been let out of hospital after struggling 7 weeks with hyperemesis (acute vomiting). Babies are doing super well inspite of this ranging 19+3 to 20+4 weighing in at 350g roughly each, one is a bit smaller but still in normal range. I wouldnt get too worried about weight differences, my son was small at birth due to placenta failure but had all 10's in his apgar score, thats what matters. ALL BOYS TOO!!!! (have one son 20 months, one step son, 20y and one step daughter, 20y). I was hoping for a girl, but I am now seeing the advantage of having 4 boys, and I remember my stepdaughters puberty imagine 3 girls - no thanks

Jaya-Cant imagine quads, can just recommend a lot of rest!!! Hope you dont get the mega vomiting like I had, take my advice if you do and get into hosp asap and get on a drip, I waited 2 weeks and was exhausted by the time I got the right help. Dont overestimate what you can manage, and if you are tired, admit it and sleep, dont fight it (like I did) you are building 4 human beings, so you are 5 people, thats hard work, also early on.

Christin: Blimey 29weeks, well done you!! Your doctor is very optimistic, I hope you make it but dont put yourself under pressure, my uni professor says average for triplets is 32weeks, so 35 weeks wld put you in the top 2%...make sure they keep a good eye on you. My prof also says anything witha 3 in front is good, so you have nearly 30 weeks, a good goal in itself. My cervix is 5cm (I am a tall lady) so no cerclage thank God, but they are still talking about taking me in from 28 weeks for resting to maximise chances of going as long as poss and making sure I am in their care for lung ripening jabs etc if anything happens ( also because of me having young son at home).

We are very lucky in germany, I get 9 hours a day home help, and once I am in hospital I will get 12 hours for care of my son (if I didnt have a child and wasnt on 8 hours a day bed rest I wouldnt get anything but its still brilliant). That should continue once the babies come home until they are 3 months old (counted from due date not birth date).

Love and hugs to all

hey everyone. I am sorry that i haven't responded lately and can't really leave a lenghy response today. Wanted to give yall a quick update. I was admitted to the hospital on wednesday the 16th (33weeks 5 days). Everything is fine, doc just wanted me close by since i live an hour from the hospital. Our section is scheduled for April 25th, this friday, which will be 35 weeks exactly. Babies are doing great and docs are happy with my progress as well. I will try to update yall with the health of the babies after they are born. Please keep us in your prayers.

Hi Ladies,

I found out at 6w2d that we have triplets (we originally thought there were 2). What a blessing!

However, only 1 had a heartbeat and measured at 6w1d. The other 2 measured 5w1d and had small sacks/no heartbeats.

The RE thinks the 2 babies may not make it.

Question: Has anyone had a bean this early come back from being so small?

I don't have my follow-up U/S until next Wed.

Thanks!
Cheryl

Hi all a quick update from me here in Germany. Christin, I have been praying for you and your family, I do hope all is well!
Cheryl - we went through a nightmare in first tri. if twins or triplets, or if nr 3 had downs etc. I hope even if you had Vanishing twin syndrome, that you have one healthy bean left.
Allison your picture is a real inspiration! I do hope I make it at least to 32 weeks if not 34....fingers crossed. I am a tad older (45) and have an autoimmune thyroid disease which is why they are taking psecial care with me.

All has been good since I have been home, including the weather so I have just moved from bed to sofa to lounger in the garden. Its been hard for my little boy to cope as I cant pick him up, change him, bath him or anything but we have nice cuddles and reading sessions.
The babies are doing very well, two are over 1000g now and even our smallest is 900g which puts him around 22.5% which is apparently still ok. The last ultrasound showed that his palcenta is not so homogenous as the others but doppler showed blood flow is fine so Dr isnt worried. Cervix still 5cm. I will probably go into hospital for safety at around 30 weeks as we are also an hour away and an emergency would require helicopter transfer which wouldnt do anyone any good. I am also worried about our smallest one, but as long as he is growing and kicking (hurts like hell now) I guess all is good.
Love to you all
