Don't know what happen with my post above but i meant to say:

Welcome to all of the new ladies!

Pumma - sounds like I am a few days behind you. My doctor is letting me start this cycle without getting AF. My estrogen is low and uterine lining is okay, so off I go. I'm putting my trust in my RE too. So hopefully we got some good ones  Getting freaked out too but trying to stay positive,

LB - your right around my time too...ER tentatively for 12/13. But I am an historic slow responder. I have a different protocol so hopefull I can do it on my actual date, yeah right

esperanza - I know I'm a little late, but hooray for AF showing up. I didn't see her but my levels look good so they said I can start my stims on sunday

Angel505 - GReat you are getting to the good part, stimming. Do you know what your lining has to be to start? My RE just said mine look good but no hard numbers. I was just excited to know that I could start my shots

washingtonda - That Shared Risk is the way to go. DH and I will do that next once our insurance runs out. I look the idea of hedging my bets and knowing for sure that I don't have to worry about what I thought was covered by insurance but really wasn't. Much baby dust to you.

Tali - I'm doing acupuncture too and I love it. My circulation is better and I have a ton of energy. My RE has several to refer his patients to but he highly recommended the one I'm seeing. She knew about issues that I didn't even complain about on the discovery sheet. Are you going to do it through transfer? I need to ask my RE because I have no clue.

ICSI GIRL - PLEASE HAVE A HUGE APPLE MARTINI OR SOMETHING STRONER FOR ME :D :D

Been out of touch this week on the boards. It is very active. So glad to see everybody at different stages. I went for my baseline u/s and bloodwork. I get to start stimming on Sunday! Praying that I don't get cancelled again.

estrogen

Post by Neffi211 »

Hey girls--
I went to my RE today...my estrogen level was 96! He said that it was extremely high for a 25 year old? Anyone else have high estrogen? And what does that mean? He seemed like it wouldn't affect the outcome of my IVF cycles, and he only tested for it because I was trying to qualify for a shared risk program that they offer. Otherwise, he said he doesn't even check it at my age? So Any thoughts on that would be helpful. I also had my sonohistogram today...everything with that looked great!

Pumma--you said that your estrogen was low..how does that affect your cycle?

For all that do acupuncture? What is the average cost, and does insurance pay for it?

Happy Monday everyone!

Esperanza - thanks so much for putting the list together - it is so nice to see where everyone is without re-reading all the posts. Scary that I am one of the first, though!

So, I started stims on Friday. I have to say, I was really reluctant to give myself that first shot - I like it better when the doctor does it and you don't know exactly when it's coming - as opposed to having to watch yourself do it and know exactly when it's coming! DH has been great and helpful so together we have gotten through 3 of them! We even had to do it in our car on Saturday night in a parking lot - don't ask, but we brought all the stuff and made it as sterile as possible and got it done!

I went for a scan and blood this morning - lots of follicles but still immature so I would be willing to bet I too will be a few days later than the original dates, which they said was possible. I have acupuncture today, so between the shots, bloodwork, and acupuncture I really feel like a walking pin cushion! And a walking pharmacy with all the meds I am taking! But I am confident it will all be worth it!!!!!

Best wishes to all!!

Hello Ladies, hope you had a good weekend, if a bit chilly.

Keisha, its great that you've started. Don't get freaked out. The main thing is you have started the cycle, its ok even if theres a delay of a few days. I was told that the lining needs to be less than 5mm before you can start stimming.

Pumma my cycle buddy - how goes? My stimms are IM injections and I'm finding those a bit more painful than the ones on my tummy.

Hi Jo and Tracy, welcome to this thread. Four weeks will go by before you know it. And theres the Christmas season to enjoy in between. It took us 2 years to get here cause of the way NHS works.

Wunam, keep up the PMA. We all deserve a BFP and we will get it.

Amy, thanks for your advise on drinking water. As soon as I read your post I got up to get myself some more.

Angie - drive safely on the slippery roads. Remember, none of your madness on the roads.

Welcome Brandy - Wow, 26th Dec is in a few weeks time. Are you looking forward to it?

Esperanza - you're a star. The list looks fab.

Lisa - you'll be cycling with Pumma and myself. I know what you mean about the shots. I can't bear to look at the needles, DH administers them for me.

Am I being a total wimp about the injections? I don't mind the ones on the tummy so much. But the muscular ones are scary. I've been taking them in the evenings, and so far no side effects except for feeling totally exhausted in the evenings. I barely just manage to make dinner and then feel like crawling into bed. I have another scan on Saturday after which the RE will decide when to give the HCG shot. Not too sure of the ER and ET dates yet as it all depends on the scan results. Last week I was worried about not being able to start stimms, now I'm worried there won't be enough follies.

Hi Everyone!

I am new to these boards and am waiting for AF to get here in a couple of weeks so I can start my 2ndIVF! I am not sure if I belong here or in a Jan/Feb thread, but here I am! I will have the IVF class later this week, and I am hoping AF gets here early so I can just start sooner.

I am enjoying reading through everyone's experiences here. It is really nice to have this support during this time.

Hi Ladies

Neffi211 - Wo, to be a 25 again, just a little jealous  . Wish I could help with the estrogen question but I have no clue. But if your RE feels it won't cause an issue, I would try not to worry about. I'm a google maniac and I always invite trouble for myself. I am an addict :P !

jomae - I am not among the blessed ladies to have any children but its not my first try. Keep getting close, just need one of my embies to stick. We do have a nice bunch of ladies here, so looking forward to "hearing" from you!

amy2410 - thanks for the reminder of the water. I'm sipping away as I type.

ICSI GIRL - THANKS FOR THE TOAST ....I NEEDED IT

ANGEL505 - Thanks for the info and encouragement. I called I found that my lining is about 5 mm so I'm all set

Pummalaemma - I started Sunday. I'm on follistim, lupon, and low dose HCG. Can you tell me if we are supposed to have left over meds of the follistim? I have to take 300 iu of follistim but I noticed I had some left. Don't think I screwed up the dosage. Are they giving us a little in case we screw up? And man does that crap sting. I only menopur and bravelle last time, with no stinging. Guess I will have to get use to it.

WELCOME waitingforMia :P And to all the other ladies thanks for checking up on us early birds.

As for me, I started the meds and feel a little crappy. I always had menopur and bravelle with my other tries. I am on follistim, lupron, and low dose HCG. Boy, that follistim burned the crap out of me (don't let that scare anyone just trying it, I am a big WUSSIE)!!! Has anyone been on the low does HCG? I really haven't heard that much on it. AND I googled it to death and found only minor mentions of it.

Well, guess I will finish up some paperwork, at the job..goo.
