Jennieswa,

I am glad that you had a great visit. We had that little problem with Baby A for about 30 minutes. The tech had to move to Baby B and then come back to Baby A twice before we were able to determine that she was a girl..8:)

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been out of touch for awhile. We went on a trip to Cleveland to visit my husbands family...probably the last trip for a long time!

The babies are great. We are having two boys and a girl which is exactly what we thought it was!

Baby A - Sophie Grey - 8 oz. and 8.5" long
Baby B - Kahne David - 8 oz. and 8.9" long
Baby C - Logan Scott - 9 oz. and 9" long

We have started to buy clothes and begun shopping for furniture. I just need to decide how I want to decorate.

Sarahalf...I won't be breastfeeding because of my breast cancer treatment. The radiation treatment prevents any milk supply from coming in. Formula it will have to be!

Ladies,
So exciting, so many blessings to catch up on!
Tamara, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! How are you feeling? And how are you going to decorate the nursery for these three little cuties? I love their names!!! What are you expecting your due date to be per your most recent dr visits?
Karen, CONGRATS on your baby girl!!! I am a planner too and needed to know how to move on here. Plus I had saved all my boy/girl baby clothes and needed to know what to get ready! I am wanting to prepare early this time just in case of bedrest (fingers crossed that wont happen!).
Jennieswa: err! So frustrating when you cant find out the sex! Dont you just pray each time that they will just keep watching until the baby gets in the right position??
Heres my update:
Went to the genetic u/s with specialist in Denver, expecting him to say everything was fine. Of course, NO! There was two "soft markers" (a bunch of bs!) on Baby A. A calcium deposit on her heart and some fluid retained in her kidney. These are both seen a lot of the time on "normal" babies but...signs for DS as well. So the anti-amnio dr recommended an amnio. We had to decide on the spot and decided with twins, and with the fact that we already have two children, we needed to know. So after a double amnio, and a VERY long weekend, we found out that both babies are perfectly healthy. Heather, I had a 21 week loss with my last preg and I blamed the amnio. I felt the exact same as you, I did NOT want one. I am kind of angry I even did all the testing, knowing it is not accurate for twins to begin with. And I did not want the fear of miscarrying perfectly healthy babies for 4 weeks post amnio. Unfortunately, my destiny is now to wait another 3 1/2 weeks somewhat holding my breathe that there is no infection or spontaneous miscarriage. I am trying to not think about it so much, as the odds are 1 in 150. Yet it is hard to not be the 1 in 150 in my own mind....
Anyway, Ithink that was plenty for one post!!!!

Oh Sara, I am so sorry that you had to endure all of that. Please don't spend the next 3 1/2 weeks thinking of a potential loss. That may cause more stress. Continue to think of that precious bump you have housing your sweet little ones.

Congratulations Tamara!!! The measurements of the babies are wonderful! So sweet to see that you are having 2 boys and a girl. You are going to have so much fun choosing clothes and decorating.

As for me, I am currently doing pretty good. I had some abdominal pressure that my dr. says is normal for a multiple pregnancy. Given the fact that we lost our first set of twins around this time, my dr.'s have recommended modified bedrest. They are trying to help remove any negative factors. I am just find with the recommendation. My focus is having healthy little sweet peas, so whatever it takes we will do. So, I hope to have more chatting time with you all... :D

Karen,
What kind of bedrest did your dr recommend? I am around the same time I lost my baby last time and it is very difficult mentally, even though I try to remain positive. I think you said you were 19 weeks along last time? I am so sorry, must be so hard for you...just know you have a friend on the intenet in the same boat!
Has your Dr mentioned Progesterone shots? I might have to start doing them at 20 weeks (if I choose too). I am not sure yet of all the risks and benefits..

Hi Sara,

Yes, we were 18 weeks when we start experiencing problems and we lost the twins at 19 and 20 weeks. We having been praying and praying for a different outcome with this pregnancy. This experience has been different and my dr.'s have been giving us a lot more attention. I am on modified bedrest currently. We see my high risk dr tomorrow and he will determine based on cervical length whether it should increase to strict. My cervical length is at 3.3 right now and we are 19 weeks. I saw the babies today and they look great.

Progestrone has not been discussed, but a cerclage has been. If my cervical length is 2.5 or lower then we will put a cerclage in. We will discuss that tomorrow as well. I feel good that my dr.'s are trying to watch us very closely.

Hi all

I have only posted on this thread once before but have been reading bits on & off & am trying to catch up although have only read this page today -

I hope it's okay to join you. I am currently 18 wks and 3 days and am due on the 21st Dec.

I wanted to ask how much movement people have felt around this time? I have not felt much (singleton pregnancy) I thought I could feel something a couple of times but now not so sure.

Tamara -= Wow triplets! and you are SO organised with your names chosen already.

Sara - How worrying & incredibly annoying and upsetting that the amnio was all for no reason and the twins are perfectly healthy! I think the only thing you can do is just try as much as you can to relax and rest and try (easier said than done) to think about something else. So awful to have to go through after losing your last baby.

Karen - Glad to hear things seem to be going well after your tragic loss. I really hope things carry on progressing smoothly.

Love Vicky

Karen, I am so sorry for your loss. Words cannot really express what I mean by sorry...I know how painful it was to lose one baby and I am sure losing two was incredibly difficult. And here we are on this path again. But the outcome is so worth all of the stress and angst we go thru....It sounds like you are getting excellent care and I will be very interested to hear what the high risk dr says. I did have a cerclage placed at 14 weeks (sorry if I am repeating myself!) and it is giving me some piece of mind.
Vicky, Happy to have you join us!! Welcome back!! Thank you so much for your kind words...I have not felt much movement, but some flutters and some questionable kicks (?!). I thought with two I would def feel them sooner but not much yet. And it looks like they are moving around a lot in the u/s?! I thought I felt movement sooner in my last pregnancies?
I am sure you will feel that baby movin around very soon though!
More later!

Hi VickyP- Congratulations & Welcome to the board. Thanks so much for the sweet words. I started feeling movement on Father's day. My little sweet peas have been shaking ever since. :D

Sara, We visited my high risk dr. on yesterday morning. He quickly determined that we needed to put a cerclage in immediately. We discussed the pros and cons and then my dr. called my ob to see whether she could do the cerclage that day. I was very uncomfortable with waiting until the next day and my high risk dr. was too. My Ob said that she could move other patients to handle the surgery at 2PM. The surgery went very well. I got an opportunity to find out what a spinal felt like. We came home around 10 PM last night. I didn't want to spend the night in the hospital if I didn't have too. Doc thought that everything looked good and the medicine from the spinal wore off by 8:30, so we were able to get home by 10. I now have a little more piece of mind with the cerclage in. I will be out of work until my Dr.'s think that it's time to return and I feel as though my body is ready. The babies are still moving and grooving. My bump is still here and I am still very happy to see another pregnancy day. Such a blessing....

Take Care,
Karen

Karen,
I am sure that was a stressful day for you! My cerclage happened very much in the same way and I have to say, 5 weeks later, it is tremendous piece of mind to have it in. Plus, I get the weekly ultrasound checks to make sure everything is still good in there, which helps ALOT. They also put me on Celebrex (anti-inflammatory) which helped with the cinched feeling and calmed everything down in there. I am still on it.
Let me know how you are feeling. I got a little nervous the first day bc it seemed to "tight" up in there and I convinced myself I was contracting (!? what a nut I am this preg!) but I am used to the feeling now and everything is good.
Hope you are feeling good tonight!

Hi all

Karen - Hope your feeling well. Must be a big relief to have that done.

Jennie - Congratulations - a boy! It's so great to know isn't it - now you can really start getting to know him straight away.

I have my 20 week scan on Monday. So I really hope everything is okay. I am really keen to find out what I am having so I hope they can tell! I am off to not so sunny Blackpool for the weekend to see a friend so that should take my mind off it anyway.

Okay I hope all are well. Love Vicky.

Jennieswa - Congrats on your baby boy!!!

Tamaraj- congratulations on your two baby boys and baby girl. I love the names you picked out. when is your due date? How are you feeling?

Sara - how stressful for you. Hopefully you have a lot going on that will keep your mind occupied for the next 3 weeks. Great news that your babies are healthy.

Welcome Vicky - Good luck on Monday. Can't wait to hear what you're having.

Karen - I'm glad everything went OK. How are you feeling? When does the dr think you can go back to work?

We had our 20 week US yesterday and everything looks good. We decided at the office that we wanted to find out what we're having (didn't find out w/ our first) and we're having a BOY!!!!! I'm so excited to have a boy nursery and start buying all boy clothes. We have all pink here! Now to think of a name.......

Hi Heather

Congratulations on your baby boy! So your first is a girl then? It's so lovely to know don't you think so you can spend the next 20 weeks really thinking about what names and what they are like! I can't wait to know - I have absolutely no will power so could never wait till he/she was born - although I am a bit nervous about everything being okay. Love Vicky

Congratulations on your baby boy Jennieswa!

Ladies,

Thanks so much for the well wishes and concern. We are doing really good right now. I have been resting and I do feel so much better with the cerclage in. My Mom is here, so she has been working on clearing the guest room in preparation of the room for the babies. I will be out of work until at least mid Sept and probably beyond. It's for the best. We often stress at work and do not even know it. So, home is the best place for us right now... :D

How is everyone else?
