Venus: Way to go - you've got 5 embabies growing - that is fantastic. Hope you get to the 5 day so you can do the blast transfer!

JHarris: Sounds like you're going to have lots of good eggs to work with. I'm super siked for ER - it's one more hurdle behind us in this process. Looks like we'll be having ER the same day! It's so nice to have others going through the same exact thing right now. I feel like you guys are the only ones who get it!

NDGO: Welcome - you're right on track with the rest of us. I generally stim for 10-11 days, but everyone is different. What is your E2 at? You should be seeing some follies pop any day now.

Elisabeth: Good luck with the trigger tonight and ER on Tues. 18 is a great number. I also have been having some ovary pain and feel very full all the time. What was your E2 level at? That is a good indicator of whether you should be cognizant of OHSS.

Emfossem: Glad to hear you're getting rolling. The BCP wait is annoying, but once stims start the cycle seems to fly by. The BCP made my boobs very sore and I was bloated the whole time I was on them. Everyone reacts differently, but I think the hormone levels in Desogen are too high for me. I also had a killer AF after them. Oh well, it'll all be worth it in the end.

RN2005: So glad to hear everything looks a-go! There are at least 3 of us likely having ER on Wednesday, so we'll be right with you.

Kim: Are you getting excited for ER? So much activity between all of us this week, it's crazy!

Babyloves: Stay sane on the 2WW! We'll all be joining you soon.

Hey guys - Do you know how many embryos most clinics will transfer for a day 3? SG put 2 blasts in for us last time but im wondering if that will be different if we do a day 3 this time.

Anyone experiencing memory issues. Just like last time, I can barely remember my name :-) So much for work productivity this week!

HI everyone

Post by nickyb73 »

hello everyone! mind if I join?! I am on day 9 of stims with assume that my retreval will be this week. HAve to go tomorrow for bloodwork and ultrasound. This is second try at IVF after 4 failed IUIs. First IVF cycle, I took 10 of lupron for suppression and then 5 of lupron and 200 follistim for stimulation. Had 12 follicles before trigger but only retrived 4 but only one was mature and didn't fertilize using ISCI. This time RE increased lupron to 20 to suppress and then decreased to 5 with 300 of Follistim for stimulation. I don't think lupron agrees with my body as I tend to have high levels even on lupron For both cycles stimulation had to be postponed due to a cyst and high levels. This cycle I had to have the cyst aspirated. When I had an unltrasound yesteday had 10 follicles. Kinda dishearterning. Was hoping for better results this time. Hopefully, more will be mature this time!!!! Good luck to all of you.

Good evening everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend. A big week coming up for most of us!! I got my message from my RE's office this afternoon, and apparently the nurse was mistaken, and I get to trigger TONIGHT!!! OMG!! :!: So my ER is now Tuesday! I'm so excited! :D Especially is we get to do a 5 day transfer this time, so DH can be there and not have to take a day off work!

babyloves: Nope, no frosties. We used a flare protocol this cycle. So my BFN was the beginning of June. Then in July, began Provera to get AF started, which came the following day, then went straight to starting stims. I was surprised I get to go again so soon!

ndgo82: Welcome aboard! Bloating should be a good sign. How are the follies looking during US? E2 only matters if the follies are growing!

elisabeth: We get to trigger together, and go in for ER!! Sounds like you will get plenty of eggs!! Good luck!

emfossum: What do you get to start now that you are done with BCP's? Suppression or straight to stims?

rn2005: I'm so glad your appt went well! Only a few more days till ER!!

RBJean: Looks like my nurse was wrong, and I get to trigger a day earlier now. But you won't be far behind!

kim14: My clinic transferred 3 embies on day 3, but we only had 3 embies total, but they weren't the best quality. So I think it will all depend on how many you have, and how good they are dividing. I can never remember anything either!

nickyb: Welcome to the group. 10 follicles isn't bad! Good luck with this cycle!

Anyway, off to do my last Ganirelix shot, then an hour later, take my trigger. Then get to go back in tomorrow morning for my last BW before ER!! Have a great night ladies. Our time is coming!! :D

Hi gals, Im going to go for accupuncture since I heard it helps to increase the chance of pregnancy. The accupuncturist also reccomend me to go for 3 more sessions after the ET. Does any of you did that? Tday I stop coffee intake, though its hard. I still prefer the taste of coffee than chocolate.

nickyb73 - welcome to this thread. Im going for my u/s on thrusday to find how many eggs I have. Hope for this cycle, both us will have a smooth journey.

Jharris12 - Wow you are going for ER, thats fantastic. All the best to your ER and with good eggs to fertilize.

Really can't wait for my u/s. Hope Im producing eggs....starting to worry again. All the best of luck to all of you. :D

waiting for fert call

Post by antoak »

hi all.
obviously new to the post, but am going through this process for the first time with you all. I had my retrieval today and the doc said they had 9 eggs. As you can tell from the time of my post, I am very nervous anticipating the fert. call. I am kind of upset about the 9 since they were counting so many follicles during my stimulation period, but the nurses told my dh that 9 was a perfect number.
We will have half icsi performed on the eggs, so I am praying for a miracle. I know that the ER was the worst part and feel like I got over a hurdle, but my emotions are getting the best of me now.
Kind of personal ? but when do bowel movements return to normal post ER?
Wishing you all well. Will check back tomorrow hopefully with good news

HI everyone, Just checking in. Yesterday I went in for us and bw work, 12 good follies but e2 was over 4400. I didnt take any follistim and reduced ovidrel to 2.5 but still took the ganirelix last night. Today us was really good 7 follies that measured over 20. Hopefully e2 has gone down and I will trigger tonight and have er on wed. Good luck with everyone having er tomorrow and the rest of this week.

Good afternoon ladies! Thought I would check in on everybody!

hommy: Good luck with your BW & US Thursday. Try not to worry too much. I'm sure your RE has things under conttrol for you! I agree, giving up caffeine and my morning coffee was hard. So I have been drinking decaf coffee. It helps!!

rn2005: Thank you!! I will give details as soon as I get them. I will probably come home and take a nap after ER, which is at 8:30am, but I will update you all as soon as I can!

antoak: Welcome to the group, and congrats on ER!! 9 eggs is pretty good!! ER is a bit emotional, but don't let it get you worked up!! When will you get your fert. report?

anj: Woo Hoo!! :D I still can't believe they didn't let you trigger last night! :? But it sounds like you will have plenty of eggs to work with! Guess I will see you tomorrow morning, again!! :D

elisabeth: Good luck with ER tomorrow!! I'll be thinking about you!

My ER is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:30. So I am enjoying my one shot free day! I will update you all when I get a chance tomorrow! Thanks again for all your support and well wishes!

Hi ladies,
Got the order to trigger tonight - so ER is Wednesday at 7:30. Sounds like RN2005, Anj and Kim we all have ER on Wednesday; JHarris, Elisabeth and DCDiva - ER on Tuesday, right? Sorry if I forgot anyone. Good luck to everyone!

Elisabeth - I've also been told to take only 1/2 the HCG dose. My E2 shot up to 3600 today, so I'm ending up almost exactly the same as last cycle!

Antoak - congrats on the 9 eggs - let us know how the fert report comes back. I know that's a very stressful wait, but I'm sending positive vibes your way.

Fert Report

Post by antoak »

Hi Ladies,
Good news came my way this morning...all 9 of the eggs fertilized :D That was such a huge relief. I can't imagine how hard the 2ww is going to be though. The docs are transferring 2 embies on wednesday. I feel good about this.
I'm really happy to have ppl to share this with. My friends are great, but I feel like a science experiment. Strangely enough, my sis-in-law is just about to start ivf, but she doesn't want to talk at all. I guess everyone handles issues differently. BTW i have really enjoyed accunpuncture and so has my dh...I definitely rec. it to you all.
Thinking about my new cyberbuddies...good luck to you all.

Wow - holy ERs this week!!! I'm so excited for you ladies!

JHarris, RBJean, Elisabeth, RN2005, and Kim - Good luck on ER!!!! Definitely update us.

Emfossum - congrats on moving to the next step. Is it stimming? Grow follies grow!

Babyloves - hang in there. I know the 2ww is tough. Try to stay busy with other things.

Nichole - Welcome to the thread!! Congrats on 10 follies - that's a good #. Keep your head up and PMA.

Hommy - I agree with you about AP. I find it very relaxing. I had a sesson on Friday, ER on Saturday, another session on Sunday and will have another one tomorrow before transfer.

Antoak - wlecome and good luck on your first IVF. CONGRATULATIONS on all 9 eggs fertilizing!!! That's wonderful news!!! Good luck with the transfer. Keep us updated.

Anj- I hope you get to trigger tonight too. Things sound like they are going great.

As for me, I got a call from the nurse saying that my ET is tomorrow. Although I'm very happy there is a transfer, I'm a little disappointed we couldn't make it to a 5-day transfer. However, I know there are THOUSANDS of 3-day transfer babies/human beings out there so I'm comfortable going in tomorrow. My DH is really disappointed. I think the tough part is we couldn't get any update on the status of our 5 embryos. The nurse was not given any of the details so she couldn't tell me (such as did any more eggs fertilize, are the initial 5 growing, did we lose some along the way, how many do we have left, etc.). So we have no clue where we stand at the moment. My ET is at 11:00 tomorrow so the doctor will go through all these details with us then. It's still tough not knowing and having to wait another day. That said, I'm not going to get down - absolutely not. I have not been given any bad news so I'm going to keep thinking positive thoughts!!! So please keep your fingers crossed for me with my transfer tomorrow. Stick embies stick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey ladies!

It sounds like a very busy week for all of us! I am really enjoying having a day without any shots! I'm sure you all are like me by now and feel like a pin cushion. I have 3 bruises on my stomach from the injections and last night when my DH gave me the trigger, he hit a vessel and tons of blood came out!! (I think this freaked him out more than it did me! But, I was VERY glad that I had numbed up my butt before he went in!) We both feel like his injection skills have worsened since last time, so I think he is going to attack an orange with a few practice shots before we begin the nightly progesterone injections!

We also got the good news that upon his sperm analysis today, they decided to move forward without having him get a TESE tomorrow at ER. They test his sperm the day before ER and if it looks good then he just has to produce another sample for them while I am getting the ER done. Last time, they had me in and out of the OR and through recovery prior to him being "done"!! I suggested he go out and buy a magazine this time to make things easier for him, but he didn't think I was too funny!

Jharris, DCDiva: I will be thinking of all of you as I go in tomorrow for a 7:45am ER. I hope we all breeze through the procedure and have lots of great quality eggs!! I'm planning on having lots of gatorade when I get home and am making DH cook for me!

Kim, RBJean, and Anj: You are not too far behind us, so good luck with the trigger. Remember to ice before the injection and it will be much easier. And, enjoy the injection free day!

Antoak: I'm so happy for you that all of your eggs fertilized! That is terrific news and hopefully now they can find the strongest ones! Always know that we are here for you and understand all of what you are feeling! I agree that friends are great, but many times, they simply do not know what to say or appreciate the monumental stressor that this can be. So, I am also very grateful to have you to share things with. And, I hope your BM's have returned. Many times it is the medicine/anesthesia that backs things up, so try eating fiber rich foods or dried fruit!

Babyloves: I hope the 2ww is going really quickly for you. Here is a fun link to see when your baby is due based upon ER: http://www.ivf.ca/calcu.htm
this is the type of stuff I was obsessed with finding during my last 2ww! I'm gonna try to remain less ocd this time through!

Nichole: 10 is a great number! I hope all of your b/w and u/s are still going so well.

Emfossum: I can't wait to hear when you transfer. Do you know how many you will put in if all looks good?

I hope I didn't miss anyone! Lots of babydust to everyone and good luck!

Holy IVF chat activity!!!!

Nicky - 10 is great - You could end up with 20 eggs. You never know how many are in there. Average woman has 8 eggs per cycle.

jharris and elisabeth and venus - good luck - cant wait for update

antok and hommy - ill let you know my ap schedule for this weel - i think i go 3 times. My ap says 9 is a lucky number so your 9 eggs is great!

anj - 4200!! I was pretty sick last time from 3000. Im at 1700 this time so well see if my tummy feels any better

rb - you and i will be triggering tonite :-)

Looks like i will be doing er on wed. Triggering tonite. still waiting for my throat culture results so i hope they are neg tommorow. Still fighting this virus but dont need anymore complications. I asked my doc at sg about day 3 vs 5 transfers. she said they would still do 2 embries either way and they had about the same chance with 5 day a bit better. We did a 5 day last time and got a bfn so who knows. she also said about 75% of the patients do a day 3. Just thought id share!

It's so nice to have others going through the same exact thing right now. I feel like you guys are the only ones who get it!

NDGO: Welcome - This is my first IVF and I did stim for 11 days. Right now I only have 7 follies but I am staying positive that they produce mature eggs.

Elisabeth: We are going for ER the same day! Good luck yours. I go in at 8:45. Today I have been having some ovary pain and feel very full and uncomfortable. Hopefully after ER things will go back to normal. My E2 is over 5000 - YIKES so I am worried about OHSS.

JHarris - Good luck tomorrow! Elisabeth and I will be right there with you!

RN2005: good luck with ER on Wednesday. There are several people schedule with you so we are all in this together.

Babyloves: How's the 2WW! I can't wait to join you!

I am so excited for ER tomorrow. Let's get this party started  Once you guys have ET what is the protocol for coming back in? MY RE says that we are scheduled to come in on day 4 and day 8 for bloodwork. I would imagine this would be too soon to get a BFP?? Would we really have to wait for 14 days past ET to take the test if you have 5 day transfer?
